    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: steam: Rearrange teardown sequence This fixes a narrow window during the teardown sequence where callbacks could still be scheduled during cleanup that would then have a dangling pointer to the now-freed steam struct. This also puts work canceling for rumble and mode switch in steam_unregister, as that shouldn't persist while the client hdev is open.

  • Oct 20, 2026Pass-through of unvalidated KMS URLs to KMS clients in Apache C++ Parquet and PyArrow versions 4.0.0 to 25.0.1.CVE-2026-92287 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org

    Pass-through of unvalidated KMS URLs to KMS clients in Apache C++ Parquet and PyArrow versions 4.0.0 to 25.0.1. This affects users who read Parquet files and configure Parquet decryption properties with a KmsClient implementation. On the reader side, the KMS URL can be application-controlled (specified in the KmsConnectionConfig) or file-controlled. If the user does not leverage application control for this parameter, a file-controlled KMS URL is forwarded to a pluggable KmsClient implementation. If the KMS implementation does not perform host validation and makes use of the provided KMS URL, a KMS token can be sent to a malicious host set by an attacker in the file.  Users are recommended to upgrade to version 26.0.0, which disables this behavior by default and requires that users opt-in to it by enabling the read_kms_url flag in the DecryptionConfiguration. Users of affected versions are recommended to either specify the KMS URL in the KmsConnectionConfig when reading files, or ensure any KmsClient implementations validate received KMS URLs. Users that opt-in to file-controlled KMS URLs in version 26.0.0 and later must ensure KmsClients validate KMS URLs.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Drop scalar id on sign-extending narrowing stack fills When a spilled scalar is filled back with a sign-extending narrowing load (BPF_MEMSX), check_stack_read_fixed_off() copies the spilled register including its scalar id, but coerce_reg_to_size_sx() then sign-extends the filled register's value. If the same slot is also filled with a plain zero-extending load (BPF_MEM), both destination registers share the id yet hold different values. A later 'if <zext-reg> == const' then refines the sign-extended register through sync_linked_regs() to a value it does not have at runtime (e.g. the verifier believes 0x80000000 while the register is 0xffffffff80000000), which can be turned into an out-of-bounds access. Drop the shared scalar id at the sign-extension site in check_mem_access() when sign extension actually changes the value, mirroring the BPF_MOVSX handling in check_alu_op() (no_sext = reg_umax < 2^(size*8-1)).

  • Sep 3, 2026In Eclipse Arrowhead versions from 5.0.0 to 5.2.1 when the MQTT API is enabled with the certificate authentication policy, CertificateMqttFilter parses an X.509CVE-2026-82180 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgCritical 9.5

    In Eclipse Arrowhead versions from 5.0.0 to 5.2.1 when the MQTT API is enabled with the certificate authentication policy, CertificateMqttFilter parses an X.509 certificate that the client sends inside the MQTT message payload (the authentication field of MqttRequestTemplate) and treats its Subject DN as the authenticated identity. The certificate is decoded with CertificateFactory.generateCertificate() but its signature is never verified and its issuer chain is never validated against any trust store. Authorisation is reduced to two string comparisons on attacker-supplied data: the DN-qualifier must equal "sy" or "op", and the cloud-name part of the CN must match the server's. Both values are public (the cloud name is in the server's own TLS certificate). An attacker who can publish to the MQTT broker can therefore mint a self-signed certificate with CN=Sysop.<cloud>.<org>.arrowhead.eu, dnQualifier=op, send it as the authentication field, and be authenticated as the cloud's system operator with isSysOp == true. This passes the downstream ManagementServiceMqttFilter (request.isSysOp() → allowed) and gives full management access over MQTT. The HTTP CertificateFilter is not affected

    In Eclipse Arrowhead versions from 5.0.0 to 5.2.1 the management-authorization gate that protects every /…/mgmt/… REST endpoint decides whether to apply its check by calling request.getRequestURL().toString().contains("/mgmt/"). Tomcat returns getRequestURL() un-decoded, while Spring MVC's DispatcherServlet routes on the decoded path. Requesting /serviceregistry/%6Dgmt/systems (%6D == m) therefore fails the substring check — the filter falls through without authorising — yet is decoded to /serviceregistry/mgmt/systems and dispatched to the management controller. Spring Security's StrictHttpFirewall (active via spring-boot-starter-security in arrowhead-common) only rejects encoded / \ . % ; and null bytes, so percent-encoded ASCII letters pass through. Any authenticated system — regardless of privilege — can reach every management operation, including POST /authentication/mgmt/identities which creates new sysop accounts, yielding full administrative takeover of the local cloud.

  • Aug 19, 2026FFmpeg before commit b4c199c contains an incorrect integer narrowing conversion in the AV1 RTP packetizer (libavformat/rtpenc_av1.c).CVE-2026-75145 · Other software · FFmpeg · reported by VulnCheckMedium 5.8

    FFmpeg before commit b4c199c contains an incorrect integer narrowing conversion in the AV1 RTP packetizer (libavformat/rtpenc_av1.c). The OBU size is cast to long before comparison against the remaining frame size. On targets where long is 32 bits, including 64-bit Windows, sufficiently large OBU size values are sign-flipped by the narrowing cast, producing a negative value that passes the payload size check. This allows an oversized OBU to bypass the safety bound on affected platforms, leading to out-of-bounds memory access when the oversized value is subsequently used as a copy length.

  • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reset register bounds before narrowing retval range in check_mem_access() When the BPCVE-2026-72111 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reset register bounds before narrowing retval range in check_mem_access() When the BPF verifier processes a context load of an LSM hook return value, it calls __mark_reg_s32_range() to narrow the register to the hook's valid range. However, __mark_reg_s32_range() intersects the new range with the register's existing bounds using max_t()/min_t() rather than replacing them. If the destination register carries stale bounds from a prior instruction (e.g. BPF_MOV64_IMM), the intersection can produce a range narrower than reality. The verifier then believes it knows the register's exact value, while at runtime the actual hook return value is loaded, creating a verifier/runtime mismatch that can be used to bypass BPF memory safety checks. The else branch already calls mark_reg_unknown() to reset register state before any narrowing. Apply the same reset in the is_retval path so stale bounds are cleared before __mark_reg_s32_range() intersects.

  • Feb 17, 2026Use After Free vulnerability in Apache Arrow C++.CVE-2026-25087 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7

    Use After Free vulnerability in Apache Arrow C++. This issue affects Apache Arrow C++ from 15.0.0 through 23.0.0. It can be triggered when reading an Arrow IPC file (but not an IPC stream) with pre-buffering enabled, if the IPC file contains data with variadic buffers (such as Binary View and String View data). Depending on the number of variadic buffers in a record batch column and on the temporal sequence of multi-threaded IO, a write to a dangling pointer could occur. The value (a `std::shared_ptr<Buffer>` object) that is written to the dangling pointer is not under direct control of the attacker. Pre-buffering is disabled by default but can be enabled using a specific C++ API call (`RecordBatchFileReader::PreBufferMetadata`). The functionality is not exposed in language bindings (Python, Ruby, C GLib), so these bindings are not vulnerable. The most likely consequence of this issue would be random crashes or memory corruption when reading specific kinds of IPC files. If the application allows ingesting IPC files from untrusted sources, this could plausibly be exploited for denial of service. Inducing more targeted kinds of misbehavior (such as confidential data extraction fro

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject narrower access to pointer ctx fields The following BPF program, simplified from a syzkaller repro, causes a kernel warning: r0 = *(u8 *)(r1 + 169); exit; With pointer field sk being at offset 168 in __sk_buff. This access is detected as a narrower read in bpf_skb_is_valid_access because it doesn't match offsetof(struct __sk_buff, sk). It is therefore allowed and later proceeds to bpf_convert_ctx_access. Note that for the "is_narrower_load" case in the convert_ctx_accesses(), the insn->off is aligned, so the cnt may not be 0 because it matches the offsetof(struct __sk_buff, sk) in the bpf_convert_ctx_access. However, the target_size stays 0 and the verifier errors with a kernel warning: verifier bug: error during ctx access conversion(1) This patch fixes that to return a proper "invalid bpf_context access off=X size=Y" error on the load instruction. The same issue affects multiple other fields in context structures that allow narrow access. Some other non-affected fields (for sk_msg, sk_lookup, and sockopt) were also changed to use bpf_ctx_range_ptr for consistency. Note this syzkall

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: acpi: nfit: fix narrowing conversion in acpi_nfit_ctl Syzkaller has reported a warning in to_nfit_bus_uuid(): "only secondary bus families can be translated". This warning is emited if the argument is equal to NVDIMM_BUS_FAMILY_NFIT == 0. Function acpi_nfit_ctl() first verifies that a user-provided value call_pkg->nd_family of type u64 is not equal to 0. Then the value is converted to int, and only after that is compared to NVDIMM_BUS_FAMILY_MAX. This can lead to passing an invalid argument to acpi_nfit_ctl(), if call_pkg->nd_family is non-zero, while the lower 32 bits are zero. Furthermore, it is best to return EINVAL immediately upon seeing the invalid user input. The WARNING is insufficient to prevent further undefined behavior based on other invalid user input. All checks of the input value should be applied to the original variable call_pkg->nd_family. [iweiny: update commit message]

  • Nov 28, 2024Deserialization of untrusted data in IPC and Parquet readers in the Apache Arrow R package versions 4.0.0 through 16.1.0 allows arbitrary code execution.CVE-2024-52338 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgCritical 9.8

    Deserialization of untrusted data in IPC and Parquet readers in the Apache Arrow R package versions 4.0.0 through 16.1.0 allows arbitrary code execution. An application is vulnerable if it reads Arrow IPC, Feather or Parquet data from untrusted sources (for example, user-supplied input files). This vulnerability only affects the arrow R package, not other Apache Arrow implementations or bindings unless those bindings are specifically used via the R package (for example, an R application that embeds a Python interpreter and uses PyArrow to read files from untrusted sources is still vulnerable if the arrow R package is an affected version). It is recommended that users of the arrow R package upgrade to 17.0.0 or later. Similarly, it is recommended that downstream libraries upgrade their dependency requirements to arrow 17.0.0 or later. If using an affected version of the package, untrusted data can read into a Table and its internal to_data_frame() method can be used as a workaround (e.g., read_parquet(..., as_data_frame = FALSE)$to_data_frame()). This issue affects the Apache Arrow R package: from 4.0.0 through 16.1.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 17.0.0, whi

  • Jul 23, 2024Exposure of temporary credentials in logs in Apache Arrow Rust Object Store (`object_store` crate), version 0.10.1 and earlier on all platforms using AWS WebIdeCVE-2024-41178 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.5

    Exposure of temporary credentials in logs in Apache Arrow Rust Object Store (`object_store` crate), version 0.10.1 and earlier on all platforms using AWS WebIdentityTokens.  On certain error conditions, the logs may contain the OIDC token passed to AssumeRoleWithWebIdentity https://docs.aws.amazon.com/STS/latest/APIReference/API_AssumeRoleWithWebIdentity.html . This allows someone with access to the logs to impersonate that identity, including performing their own calls to AssumeRoleWithWebIdentity, until the OIDC token expires. Typically OIDC tokens are valid for up to an hour, although this will vary depending on the issuer. Users are recommended to use a different AWS authentication mechanism, disable logging or upgrade to version 0.10.2, which fixes this issue. Details: When using AWS WebIdentityTokens with the object_store crate, in the event of a failure and automatic retry, the underlying reqwest error, including the full URL with the credentials, potentially in the parameters, is written to the logs.  Thanks to Paul Hatcherian for reporting this vulnerability
