Jul 30, 2026A Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) vulnerability exists in Apache Superset versions 1.5.0 through 5.0.0.CVE-2026-23985 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 5.3
A Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) vulnerability exists in Apache Superset versions 1.5.0 through 5.0.0. The vulnerability is located in the sql_parse.py component, specifically within the SQL_REGEX used for parsing SQL statements in the sqlparse library integration. The affected regular expression contains overlapping disjunctions that share a common outer quantifier. An authenticated attacker can exploit this by sending a maliciously crafted input string (specifically a long sequence of backslashes or similar characters) to endpoints that process SQL queries This issue affects Apache Superset: before 6.0.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 6.0.0, which fixes the issue. Workarounds: ● WAF Rules: Implement Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block requests containing excessively long sequences of backslashes or suspicious repeated patterns in the queries.extras.where parameter. ● Rate Limiting: Ensure strict rate limiting is applied to the /api/v1/chart/data endpoint to reduce the impact of potential attacks.

An Improper Authorization vulnerability exists in Apache Superset allowing an authenticated user with permissions to update charts to modify dashboards they do not own. When updating a chart's properties via the REST API, a user can provide a list of dashboard IDs (dashboards) to associate the chart with. The validation logic in the UpdateChartCommand failed to verify that the user had write permissions for the target dashboards specified in the request body. This issue affects Apache Superset: before 6.0.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 6.0.0, which fixes the issue.

Feb 24, 2026An Improper Input Validation vulnerability exists in Apache Superset that allows an authenticated user with SQLLab access to bypass the read-only verification cCVE-2026-23984 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.1
An Improper Input Validation vulnerability exists in Apache Superset that allows an authenticated user with SQLLab access to bypass the read-only verification check when using a PostgreSQL database connection. While the system effectively blocks standard Data Manipulation Language (DML) statements (e.g., INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) on read-only connections, it fails to detect them in specially crafted SQL statements. This issue affects Apache Superset: before 6.0.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 6.0.0, which fixes the issue.

Feb 24, 2026A Sensitive Data Exposure vulnerability exists in Apache Superset allowing authenticated users to retrieve sensitive user information.CVE-2026-23983 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgLow 2.3
A Sensitive Data Exposure vulnerability exists in Apache Superset allowing authenticated users to retrieve sensitive user information. The Tag endpoint (disabled by default) allows users to retrieve a list of objects associated with a specific tag. When these associated objects include Users, the API response improperly serializes and returns sensitive fields, including password hashes (pbkdf2), email addresses, and login statistics. This vulnerability allows authenticated users with low privileges (e.g., Gamma role) to view sensitive authentication data This issue affects Apache Superset: before 6.0.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 6.0.0, which fixes the issue or make sure TAGGING_SYSTEM is False (Apache Superset current default)

Feb 24, 2026An Improper Authorization vulnerability exists in Apache Superset that allows a low-privileged user to bypass data access controls.CVE-2026-23982 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.1
An Improper Authorization vulnerability exists in Apache Superset that allows a low-privileged user to bypass data access controls. When creating a dataset, Superset enforces permission checks to prevent users from querying unauthorized data. However, an authenticated attacker with permissions to write datasets and read charts can bypass these checks by overwriting the SQL query of an existing dataset. This issue affects Apache Superset: before 6.0.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 6.0.0, which fixes the issue.

Aug 14, 2025Apache Superset contains an improper access control vulnerability in its /explore endpoint.CVE-2025-55675 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 5.3
Apache Superset contains an improper access control vulnerability in its /explore endpoint. A missing authorization check allows an authenticated user to discover metadata about datasources they do not have permission to access. By iterating through the datasource_id in the URL, an attacker can enumerate and confirm the existence and names of protected datasources, leading to sensitive information disclosure. This issue affects Apache Superset: before 5.0.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 5.0.0, which fixes the issue.

An SQL Injection vulnerability in Apache Superset exists due to improper neutralization of special elements used in SQL commands. Specifically, certain engine-specific functions are not checked, which allows attackers to bypass Apache Superset's SQL authorization. To mitigate this, a new configuration key named DISALLOWED_SQL_FUNCTIONS has been introduced. This key disallows the use of the following PostgreSQL functions: version, query_to_xml, inet_server_addr, and inet_client_addr. Sep 6, 2023Apache Superset would allow for SQLite database connections to be incorrectly registered when an attacker uses alternative driver names like sqlite+pysqlite or CVE-2023-39265 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgLow 3.8
Apache Superset would allow for SQLite database connections to be incorrectly registered when an attacker uses alternative driver names like sqlite+pysqlite or by using database imports. This could allow for unexpected file creation on Superset webservers. Additionally, if Apache Superset is using a SQLite database for its metadata (not advised for production use) it could result in more severe vulnerabilities related to confidentiality and integrity. This vulnerability exists in Apache Superset versions up to and including 2.1.0.

Sep 6, 2023If an attacker gains write access to the Apache Superset metadata database, they could persist a specifically crafted Python object that may lead to remote codeCVE-2023-37941 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 6.6
If an attacker gains write access to the Apache Superset metadata database, they could persist a specifically crafted Python object that may lead to remote code execution on Superset's web backend. The Superset metadata db is an 'internal' component that is typically only accessible directly by the system administrator and the superset process itself. Gaining access to that database should be difficult and require significant privileges. This vulnerability impacts Apache Superset versions 1.5.0 up to and including 2.1.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.1.1 or later.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
