  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: preserve hidden-group beacon IE ownership A hidden-group probe-response enCVE-2026-98823 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: preserve hidden-group beacon IE ownership A hidden-group probe-response entry borrows its beacon IEs from the group's beacon entry. cfg80211_update_assoc_bss_entry() can pass such an entry to cfg80211_update_known_bss() when merging scan entries after a channel switch. Copying the borrowed beacon_ies into the associated entry gives the same allocation two owners. Releasing the group's beacon entry can then leave the associated entry pointing to freed IEs, which are freed again when that entry is released. Skip beacon IE replacement when the source entry belongs to a hidden group. Preserve probe-response processing, the subsequent metadata updates, and the existing rejection path for conflicting hidden beacon updates.

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: libipw: reject too-short beacon and probe responses libipw_process_probe_response() CVE-2026-98349 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: libipw: reject too-short beacon and probe responses libipw_process_probe_response() and the libipw_network_init() call it makes assume the frame contains the full 36-byte beacon and probe response prefix, but the ipw2100 and ipw2200 receive paths only establish that a management frame carries the generic 24-byte three-address header. libipw_network_init() then computes the information element length as stats->len - sizeof(*beacon) stats->len is a u16 and sizeof() has type size_t, so the subtraction is evaluated as size_t and wraps instead of going negative. Truncating that to the u16 length parameter of libipw_parse_info_param() yields 65524 for a 24-byte beacon, and the parser then walks the receive buffer as if it held almost 64 KiB of information elements, reading past the allocation. Reject the frame before any fixed field is touched. Found by an AI-assisted review of length arithmetic in management frame parsers. Verified with a KUnit case under Generic KASAN on arm64 under QEMU; I do not have the hardware, so it is not tested on a real device.

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: only group hidden BSSes with beacon entries When a probe response for an uCVE-2026-98340 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: only group hidden BSSes with beacon entries When a probe response for an unknown BSS comes in, __cfg80211_bss_update() looks for an existing entry with the same BSSID and a hidden (zero-length or NUL-filled) SSID, and if it finds one it groups them, using the beacon IEs from the existing entry. But that could find another entry without a beacon, if it was also from a probe response (with SSID), so there's a group without beacon elements. If a beacon with a hidden SSID for that BSSID arrives later, cfg80211_combine_bsses() goes looking for the probe response entries that belong to it - i.e. entries with the same BSSID and channel that have no beacon IEs - and finds those two. They are already grouped with each other, so it hits its WARN_ON_ONCE(bss->pub.hidden_beacon_bss) WARN_ON_ONCE(!list_empty(&bss->hidden_list)) which are there because an entry without beacon elements is not supposed to be part of a group yet. Only combine entries when a beacon was already received, ones that are kept separate will be combined when a beacon arrives.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix xmit_frame/xmit_buf leaks on mgnt-frame error paths issue_beacon(), issue_probersp() and issue_asocrsp() obtain a management xmit_frame together with its xmit_buf from the driver's fixed-size management-TX pools via alloc_mgtxmitframe(). On the normal path the frame is handed to dump_mgntframe(), which transfers ownership and eventually returns both objects to their pools (the frame and, for beacons, the buf in rtl8723bs_mgnt_xmit(); other bufs via the pending-xmitbuf/TX-completion path). Several error/edge paths return early after a successful alloc_mgtxmitframe() but before dump_mgntframe(), so ownership is never transferred and neither object is freed: - issue_beacon(): beacon larger than 512 bytes - issue_probersp(): cur_network->ie_length > MAX_IE_SZ - issue_probersp(): kzalloc() of the SSID scratch buffer fails - issue_asocrsp(): pkt_type is neither ASSOCRSP nor REASSOCRSP Because alloc_mgtxmitframe() removes the frame and buf from their free lists (list_del_init) without placing them on any pending list, an orphaned pair is on no list and referenced by nobody, so it is on

  • Sep 22, 2026MISP contains a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the AnalystDataController::viewForObject action.CVE-2026-95659 · Other software · MISP · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 4.8

    MISP contains a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the AnalystDataController::viewForObject action. The method accepted a parent object type parameter from the URL without validation and passed it to the Overmind-themed AnalystData thread view element, where it was interpolated into two translated strings and rendered into the HTML response without output encoding. An authenticated attacker who can induce a victim to navigate to a crafted URL can inject arbitrary JavaScript that executes in the victim's browser within the MISP application context. This may allow the attacker to read session data, manipulate the page, or perform actions on behalf of the victim.  The vulnerability requires the victim to be authenticated to MISP and to actively visit the attacker-supplied URL. The affected component is the AnalystData controller and the Overmind theme's AnalystData thread element. Version affected: <2.5.47

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: nl80211: clean up color-change beacon data on errors nl80211_color_change() calls nl80211_parse_beacon() for the beacon_next template, which can allocate params.beacon_next.mbssid_ies and .rnr_ies. A parsing failure returned directly instead of using the out: cleanup, leaking any allocations completed before the error. Allocate the nested attribute table before parsing beacon_next. Its allocation failure can then return before beacon data exists, while a later parsing failure uses out: to release the parsed data.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mac802154: fix netdev use-after-free in beacon worker mac802154_beacon_worker() reads local->beacon_req under RCU and derives the sub-interface from the request, but then drops the RCU read lock and continues to use both sdata and the embedded wpan_dev. mac802154_stop_beacons_locked() cancels only pending beacon work, clears local->beacon_req and frees the request. A beacon worker that is already running can therefore continue after interface teardown and dereference the freed netdev private area. The scan worker already pins the netdev before leaving RCU. Apply the same lifetime rule to the beacon worker: take a netdev reference while the request is still protected by RCU, and release it on all paths that continue after the reference is acquired.

  • Aug 11, 2026Social Login, Passkeys, Magic Link & Email OTP – Passwordless Login by VentraConnect: Authentication BypassCVE-2026-18961 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.1

    The Social Login, Passkeys, Magic Link & Email OTP – Passwordless Login by VentraConnect plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authentication Bypass via Unverified Provider Email in all versions up to, and including, 1.4.3. This is due to the plugin trusting the unverified email field returned by Spotify's /v1/me endpoint as proof of mailbox ownership — Generic::normalize_common() copies this value into the normalized profile without requiring an email_verified assertion, and User_Links::link_or_login_user() subsequently passes it directly to get_user_by('email', $email) and issues a persistent authentication cookie via wp_set_auth_cookie() without a provider-specific verified-email gate, a local mailbox challenge, or a logged-in approval step. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to log in as any existing WordPress user, including Administrators, by supplying a known target email address through a controlled Spotify OAuth flow, gaining full administrative access to the site.

  • Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix OOB read in update_beacon_info() IE loop The IE parsing loop in upCVE-2026-64443 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.1

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix OOB read in update_beacon_info() IE loop The IE parsing loop in update_beacon_info() advances by (pIE->length + 2) each iteration but only guards on i < len. When a malicious AP sends a Beacon whose last IE has only one byte remaining in the frame (the element_id byte lands at len-1), the loop reads pIE->length from one byte past the allocated receive buffer. Additionally, even when the header bytes are in bounds, pIE->length itself can extend the data window beyond len, passing a truncated IE to the handler functions. Add two guards at the top of the loop body: 1. Break if fewer than sizeof(*pIE) bytes remain (can't read header). 2. Break if the IE's declared data extends past len. Also replace i += (pIE->length + 2) with i += sizeof(*pIE) + pIE->length for consistency with the sizeof(*pIE) guards added above.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mt76: mt7921/mt7925: fix NULL dereference in CSA beacon This patch is based on a BUG as reported by Bongani Hlope at https://lore.kernel.org/all/20260502125824.425d7159@bongani-mini.home.org.za/ When a channel-switch announcement (CSA) beacon is received, cfg80211 queues a wiphy work item that eventually calls mt7921_channel_switch_rx_beacon(). If the station disconnects (or the channel context is otherwise torn down) between the time the work is queued and the time it runs, the driver's dev->new_ctx pointer can already have been cleared to NULL. mt7921_channel_switch_rx_beacon() then dereferences new_ctx unconditionally, triggering a NULL pointer dereference at address 0x0: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 RIP: 0010:mt7921_channel_switch_rx_beacon+0x1f/0x100 [mt7921_common] The same missing guard exists in mt7925_channel_switch_rx_beacon(), which shares the same code pattern introduced by the same commit. An eval() injection vulnerability in the Rapid7 Insight Agent beaconing logic for Linux versions could theoretically allow an attacker to achieve remote code execution as root via a crafted beacon response. Because the Agent uses mutual TLS (mTLS) to verify commands from the Rapid7 Platform, it is unlikely that the eval() function could be exploited remotely without prior, highly privileged access to the backend platform.

    The /root/anaconda-ks.cfg installation configuration file in International Datacasting Corporation (IDC) SFX Series(SFX2100) SuperFlex Satellite Receiver insecurely stores the hardcoded root password hash. The password itself is highly insecure and susceptible to offline dictionary attacks using the rockyou.txt wordlist. Because direct root SSH login is disabled, an attacker must first obtain low-privileged access to the system (e.g., via other vulnerabilities) to be able to log in as the root user. The password is hardcoded and so allows for an actor with local access on effected versions to escalate to root

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: Discard Beacon frames to non-broadcast address Beacon frames are required to be sent to the broadcast address, see IEEE Std 802.11-2020, 11.1.3.1 ("The Address 1 field of the Beacon .. frame shall be set to the broadcast address"). A unicast Beacon frame might be used as a targeted attack to get one of the associated STAs to do something (e.g., using CSA to move it to another channel). As such, it is better have strict filtering for this on the received side and discard all Beacon frames that are sent to an unexpected address. This is even more important for cases where beacon protection is used. The current implementation in mac80211 is correctly discarding unicast Beacon frames if the Protected Frame bit in the Frame Control field is set to 0. However, if that bit is set to 1, the logic used for checking for configured BIGTK(s) does not actually work. If the driver does not have logic for dropping unicast Beacon frames with Protected Frame bit 1, these frames would be accepted in mac80211 processing as valid Beacon frames even though they are not protected. This would allow beacon protection to

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix out-of-bounds read in OnBeacon ESR IE parsing The Extended Supported Rates (ESR) IE handling in OnBeacon accessed *(p + 1 + ielen) and *(p + 2 + ielen) without verifying that these offsets lie within the received frame buffer. A malformed beacon with an ESR IE positioned at the end of the buffer could cause an out-of-bounds read, potentially triggering a kernel panic. Add a boundary check to ensure that the ESR IE body and the subsequent bytes are within the limits of the frame before attempting to access them. This prevents OOB reads caused by malformed beacon frames.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath12k: Avoid accessing uninitialized arvif->ar during beacon miss During beacon miss handling, ath12k driver iterates over active virtual interfaces (vifs) and attempts to access the radio object (ar) via arvif->deflink->ar. However, after commit aa80f12f3bed ("wifi: ath12k: defer vdev creation for MLO"), arvif is linked to a radio only after vdev creation, typically when a channel is assigned or a scan is requested. For P2P capable devices, a default P2P interface is created by wpa_supplicant along with regular station interfaces, these serve as dummy interfaces for P2P-capable stations, lack an associated netdev and initiate frequent scans to discover neighbor p2p devices. When a scan is initiated on such P2P vifs, driver selects destination radio (ar) based on scan frequency, creates a scan vdev, and attaches arvif to the radio. Once the scan completes or is aborted, the scan vdev is deleted, detaching arvif from the radio and leaving arvif->ar uninitialized. While handling beacon miss for station interfaces, P2P interface is also encountered in the vif iteration and ath12k_mac_handle_beacon_miss_iter
