OpenBao 2.2.0 before 2.6.4 and 2.7.0 before 2.7.1 contains an information disclosure vulnerability that exposes the tls_acme_eab_mac_key value through the sys/config/state/sanitized endpoint. Callers of the sanitized configuration endpoint can retrieve the ACME External Account Binding MAC key used for TLS listener certificates, letting them bind to the operator's ACME account.

  • Oct 21, 2026Insufficient resource pool in the ACME HTTP-01 challenge responder of Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.0.0 through 6.3.6 allows a remote unauthenticated attackerCVE-2026-114472 · Other software · Progressive Robot Ltd · reported by cve@gitlab.comLow 3.7

Insufficient resource pool in the ACME HTTP-01 challenge responder of Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.0.0 through 6.3.6 allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause a certificate issuance or renewal to fail. When the server obtains or renews a TLS certificate over ACME it runs an HTTP-01 challenge responder on port 80 for the certificate authority to read the challenge token; the responder served one connection at a time, accepting a socket, waiting up to five seconds to receive a request, answering it, and only then accepting the next. A client that connected and sent nothing held the single worker for the whole timeout, so enough idle connections during a validation keep the certificate authority's own request from being answered in time and the validation fails. Sustained across a certificate's renewals this leads to the certificate expiring, after which clients refuse the server's TLS; the mail service itself continues on its current certificate until then. No authentication is required to connect to the responder. Version 6.3.7 serves up to 64 connections at once and closes a connection past that, so that where a handful of idle connections, one after another, sufficed be

  • Oct 7, 2026Vault's PKI secrets engine ACME server did not restrict certificate identities that ACME challenges do not validate when issuing certificates under the default CVE-2026-105818 · Other software · HashiCorp · reported by security@hashicorp.comMedium 5.9

Vault's PKI secrets engine ACME server did not restrict certificate identities that ACME challenges do not validate when issuing certificates under the default directory policy. This may allow an ACME client to obtain a certificate containing unverified identity claims, potentially enabling impersonation toward systems that trust certificates issued by the affected Vault PKI mount. This vulnerability (CVE-2026-105818) is fixed in Vault Community Edition 2.1.2, and Vault Enterprise 2.1.2, 1.21.12, 1.20.17, and 1.19.23.

  • Jul 30, 2026A flaw was found in Dogtag PKI's ACME responder where the HTTP-01 challenge validator accepts IP address literals as dns identifiers and follows HTTP redirects CVE-2026-18369 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.8

A flaw was found in Dogtag PKI's ACME responder where the HTTP-01 challenge validator accepts IP address literals as dns identifiers and follows HTTP redirects without validating that the target is a public address. An unauthenticated ACME account holder can exploit this to perform server-side request forgery (SSRF), making the Dogtag server send HTTP GET requests to internal network services. With the InMemory database backend, the response body of internal targets is disclosed to the attacker through the ACME challenge error.

A flaw was found in Dogtag PKI's ACME responder where the web.xml security constraints use exact URL pattern matching for admin-only enable/disable endpoints. By appending a trailing slash to the URL, an unauthenticated attacker can bypass the Tomcat authentication constraint while RESTEasy still routes the request to the handler, allowing unauthorized toggling of the ACME service state including persistent denial of service.

  • Jun 16, 2026In ServerCo getssl version 2.49 and prior, the ACME challenge token returned to the client was not strictly validated against RFC 8555 before being used in chalCVE-2026-10303 · Other software · ServerCo · reported by 44488dab-36db-4358-99f9-bc116477f914High 7.4

In ServerCo getssl version 2.49 and prior, the ACME challenge token returned to the client was not strictly validated against RFC 8555 before being used in challenge-file handling, allowing a maliciously crafted token to influence local path/filename usage during validation. An attacker who can supply ACME challenge responses to getssl (for example, a malicious or compromised CA endpoint, or an on-path adversary able to tamper with that response path) could exploit this to achieve unauthorized file write/path traversal effects, usually with elevated privileges, ultimately allowing for remote command injection. This issue appears related in spirit to CVE-2023-38198, and is an instance of CWE-73, "External control of file name or path." Other ACME shell script handlers may be affected by similar issues.

  • Jan 9, 2026On October 1, 2025, Palantir discovered that images uploaded through the Dossier front-end app were not being marked correctly with the proper security levels.CVE-2025-62487 · Other software · Palantir · reported by cve-coordination@palantir.comLow 3.5

On October 1, 2025, Palantir discovered that images uploaded through the Dossier front-end app were not being marked correctly with the proper security levels. The regression was traced back to a change in May 2025, which was meant to allow file uploads to be shared among different artifacts (e.g. other dossiers and presentations). On deployments configured with CBAC, the front-end would present a security picker dialog to set the security level on the uploads, thereby mitigating the issue. On deployments without a CBAC configuration, no security picker dialog appears, leading to a security level of CUSTOM with no markings or datasets selected. The resulting markings and groups for the file uploads thus will be only those added by the default authorization rules defined in the Auth Chooser configuration. On most environments, it is expected that the default authorization rules only add the Everyone group.

  • Aug 6, 2025Let's Encrypt client and ACME library written in Go (Lego).CVE-2025-54799 · Other software · go-acme · reported by GitHubLow 2.3

Let's Encrypt client and ACME library written in Go (Lego). In versions 4.25.1 and below, the github.com/go-acme/lego/v4/acme/api package (thus the lego library and the lego cli as well) don't enforce HTTPS when talking to CAs as an ACME client. Unlike the http-01 challenge which solves an ACME challenge over unencrypted HTTP, the ACME protocol requires HTTPS when a client communicates with the CA to performs ACME functions. However, the library fails to enforce HTTPS both in the original discover URL (configured by the library user) and in the subsequent addresses returned by the CAs in the directory and order objects. If users input HTTP URLs or CAs misconfigure endpoints, protocol operations occur over HTTP instead of HTTPS. This compromises privacy by exposing request/response details like account and request identifiers to network attackers. This was fixed in version 4.25.2.

  • Jul 2, 2024httpTokenCacheKey uses path.Base to extract the expected HTTP-01 token value to lookup in the DirCache implementation.CVE-2022-30636 · Other software · golang.org/x/crypto · reported by security@golang.orgHigh 7.5

httpTokenCacheKey uses path.Base to extract the expected HTTP-01 token value to lookup in the DirCache implementation. On Windows, path.Base acts differently to filepath.Base, since Windows uses a different path separator (\ vs. /), allowing a user to provide a relative path, i.e. .well-known/acme-challenge/..\..\asd becomes ..\..\asd. The extracted path is then suffixed with +http-01, joined with the cache directory, and opened. Since the controlled path is suffixed with +http-01 before opening, the impact of this is significantly limited, since it only allows reading arbitrary files on the system if and only if they have this suffix.

An issue was discovered in Keyfactor PrimeKey EJBCA before 7.9.0, related to possible inconsistencies in DNS identifiers submitted in an ACME order and the corresponding CSR submitted during finalization. During the ACME enrollment process, an order is submitted containing an identifier for one or multiple dnsNames. These are validated properly in the ACME challenge. However, if the validation passes, a non-compliant client can include additional dnsNames the CSR sent to the finalize endpoint, resulting in EJBCA issuing a certificate including the identifiers that were not validated. This occurs even if the certificate profile is configured to not allow a DN override by the CSR.

Multiple buffer overflows in htpasswd, as used in Acme thttpd 2.25b, and possibly other products such as Apache, might allow local users to gain privileges via (1) a long command line argument and (2) a long line in a file. Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
