  • Jul 31, 2026The fix for CVE-2026-12045 in pgAdmin 4 9.16 required the LLM-supplied query passed to the AI Assistant's execute_sql_query tool to parse, via sqlparse, as exacCVE-2026-17351 · Other software · pgadmin.org · reported by f86ef6dc-4d3a-42ad-8f28-e6d5547a5007Critical 9.4

The fix for CVE-2026-12045 in pgAdmin 4 9.16 required the LLM-supplied query passed to the AI Assistant's execute_sql_query tool to parse, via sqlparse, as exactly one non-transaction-control statement before running it inside a BEGIN TRANSACTION READ ONLY wrapper. sqlparse's string-literal lexing can disagree with PostgreSQL's own parser: under standard_conforming_strings = on (PostgreSQL's default since 9.1), a backslash immediately before a quote is an ordinary character to PostgreSQL, but sqlparse treats it as escaping the quote. A payload such as SELECT '\';COMMIT;CREATE TABLE pwn(x int);SELECT 1 --' therefore parses as a single SELECT to sqlparse's validator, while PostgreSQL executes it as four statements: the smuggled COMMIT ends the wrapping read-only transaction, and the trailing ROLLBACK becomes a no-op. This reintroduces the same write/RCE bypass CVE-2026-12045 was meant to close, reachable via the same indirect prompt-injection delivery (an attacker plants the payload in any object the AI Assistant may read; the LLM emits it as a tool call). An initial candidate fix ran the query with psycopg's execute(..., prepare=True), intending to force PostgreSQL's own Parse step

  • Jul 30, 2026An improper authorization and security-boundary bypass vulnerability in the bigquery-execute-sql tool component of Google mcp-toolbox versions 0.16.1 through 1.CVE-2026-14538 · Computers, phones & browsers · Google · reported by cve-coordination@google.comMedium 5.7

An improper authorization and security-boundary bypass vulnerability in the bigquery-execute-sql tool component of Google mcp-toolbox versions 0.16.1 through 1.4.0 allows an authenticated attacker to bypass allowedDatasets validation checks. The toolbox relies on the BigQuery dry-run API to enforce dataset restrictions, but due to a fail-open logic flaw, it bypasses validation when the API returns an empty array for specialized constructs. This allows the attacker to extract structural DDL schemas for explicitly excluded datasets via INFORMATION_SCHEMA, and access downstream federated row data via EXTERNAL_QUERY connections.

  • Jul 28, 2026Hypequery is a TypeScript semantic layer for ClickHouse.CVE-2026-54658 · Other software · hypequery · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8

Hypequery is a TypeScript semantic layer for ClickHouse. Prior to 2.5.1, escapeValue() in packages/clickhouse/src/core/utils.ts did not escape backslashes before single quotes during parameter substitution, allowing attacker controlled query parameters with a trailing backslash to escape the closing quote and inject arbitrary SQL. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.2. Version 2.0.2 fixes string parameters, while version 2.5.1 fixes all known vectors. Upgrading to 2.5.1 or later is the only complete fix. In versions 2.0.2 through 2.5.0, serializing non-scalar parameters with  JSON.stringify()  before passing them is a workaround for the object/array vector only.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: serialize QUERY_DIRECTORY requests per file smb2_query_dir() stores a pointer to its stack-allocated private data in the ksmbd_file readdir_data. Concurrent QUERY_DIRECTORY requests using the same file handle can overwrite this pointer while an iterate_dir() callback is still using it, resulting in a stack use-after-free. Add a per-file mutex and hold it while accessing the shared directory enumeration state. The lock covers scan restart, dot entry state, readdir_data setup and iteration, and response construction. This prevents another request from replacing readdir_data.private before the current request has finished using it and also serializes the shared file position.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86: hyper-v: Bound the bank index when querying sparse banks When checking if a VP ID is included in a sparse bank set, explicitly check that the ID can actually be contained in a sparse bank (the TLFS allows for a maximum of 64 banks of 64 vCPUs each). When handling a paravirtual TLB flush for L2, the VP ID is copied verbatim from the enlightened VMCS, without any bounds check, i.e. isn't guaranteed to be under the limit of 4096. Failure to check the bounds of the VP ID leads to an out-of-bounds read when testing the sparse bank, and super strictly speaking could lead to KVM performing an unnecessary TLB flush for an L2 vCPU. ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in hv_is_vp_in_sparse_set+0x85/0x100 [kvm] Read of size 8 at addr ffff88811ba5f598 by task hyperv_evmcs/2802 CPU: 12 UID: 1000 PID: 2802 Comm: hyperv_evmcs Not tainted 7.1.0-rc2 #7 PREEMPT Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 0.0.0 02/06/2015 Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x51/0x60 print_report+0xcb/0x5d0 kasan_report+0xb4/0xe0 kasan_chec

It is possible for an attacker's zone to respond to a query with an RRSIG that has a smaller number of labels than the zone in which the RRSIG is contained. This causes `named` to produce a wildcard name for a zone that is shorter than the attacker's zone, which can result in cache poisoning. Data::SortedSet::Shared versions before 0.03 for Perl allow an out-of-bounds read via unvalidated node indices in the rank and min/max query paths. The attach-time validator ss_validate_header bounds only the root index against the node pool (node_capacity). The order-statistics and min/max queries then follow children[], leftmost and rightmost node indices read raw from the mmap'd segment without bounding them against node_capacity. A full structural check (ss_validate_tree) exists but runs only via an explicit validate method, not on attach. A local peer that can write the backing file can leave the header valid while poisoning the tree links, so the next rank, min or max query dereferences an out-of-bounds node index, reading adjacent memory or crashing the process.

  • Jul 21, 2026A SQL injection (CWE-89) and security boundary bypass (CWE-863) vulnerability exists in the prebuilt BigQuery forecasting tool (bigquery-forecast) of googleapisCVE-2026-15829 · Computers, phones & browsers · Google · reported by cve-coordination@google.comHigh 8.6

A SQL injection (CWE-89) and security boundary bypass (CWE-863) vulnerability exists in the prebuilt BigQuery forecasting tool (bigquery-forecast) of googleapis/mcp-toolbox. The tool accepts client-controlled parameters (data_col, timestamp_col, and id_cols) as plain strings and interpolates them unescaped via fmt.Sprintf directly into a generated AI.FORECAST table-valued SELECT statement. While MCP Toolbox utilizes an allowedDatasets mechanism to restrict queries, this defense only validates the history_data parameter; the final assembled query is executed without re-validation. An attacker can break out of the string literal fields (such as timestamp_col) to inject a valid multi-statement or cross-dataset query block. This allows an unauthorized user to bypass the operator-configured allowedDatasets boundary and read arbitrary BigQuery tables.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/v3d: Fix use-after-free of CPU job query arrays on error path The CPU job ioctl's fail label calls kvfree() on cpu_job's timestamp and performance query arrays after v3d_job_cleanup(), which drops the job's last reference and frees cpu_job. Reading cpu_job at that point is a use-after-free. Also, on the early v3d_job_init() failure path, it is a NULL dereference, since v3d_job_deallocate() zeroes the local pointer. In the success path, the arrays are released from the scheduler's .free_job callback, but on the error path, they are freed manually, as the job was never pushed to the scheduler. While the success path deals with this correctly, the fail path doesn't. On top of that, the manual kvfree() calls only free the array storage; they don't drm_syncobj_put() the per-query syncobjs that v3d_timestamp_query_info_free() and v3d_performance_query_info_free() release on the success path. So the same fail path that triggers the use-after-free also leaks one syncobj reference per query. Unify the CPU job teardown into the CPU job's kref destructor, mirroring v3d_render_job_free(). The scheduler's .free_job slo

QueryWeaver contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to obtain valid session tokens for existing accounts by submitting a signup request with a known victim email address. The signup route unconditionally creates and links a new token to the matching Identity via a Cypher MERGE operation before checking whether the email belongs to an existing account, causing the server to return a valid authenticated session token for the victim's identity without requiring any prior credentials or user interaction.

Amazon Athena is a serverless, interactive query service that lets you analyze data directly in Amazon S3 using standard SQL. Athena Query Federation is a feature that allows you to connect to data sources outside of Amazon S3 like DynamoDB, Azure Synapse, and custom connectors using standard SQL syntax. Improper neutralization of special elements used in an SQL command in the Synapse connector in Amazon aws-athena-query-federation v2022.20.1 through v2026.19.1 might allow an authenticated remote user to execute injected read-only SQL queries that return unintended data from the connected database via a crafted table name. The Grav API plugin (getgrav/grav-plugin-api) before 1.0.0-rc.16 accepts JWT access tokens through the ?token= URL query parameter on every API route (JwtAuthenticator::extractBearerToken fallback). Because tokens are embedded in URLs, they are logged verbatim in web server access logs, leaked via the Referer header, stored in browser history, and captured by upstream proxy and CDN logs, exposing valid admin access tokens. A leaked token grants unauthorized API access, including reading configuration and user data, creating admin accounts, modifying system settings, and deleting pages.
