Aug 1, 2026Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature in ueberauth guardian allows an unauthenticated attacker to revoke a victim's session with a forged token.CVE-2026-55735 · Other software · ueberauth · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.2
Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature in ueberauth guardian allows an unauthenticated attacker to revoke a victim's session with a forged token. Guardian.revoke/3 in lib/guardian.ex decodes the supplied token with peek/1, which performs no signature verification (it only base64-decodes the JWT header and payload). The resulting unverified claims are forwarded directly to the configured token module's revoke callback and the implementation's on_revoke callback, a state-mutating sink. The sibling operations refresh/2 and exchange/4 both call decode_and_verify first, so the signature is checked before anything acts on the claims; revoke/3 is the only state-mutating path that acts on claims without verifying the signature. An attacker who knows or guesses a victim's identifying claim values (jti, sub) can forge a JWT carrying those claims, sign it with an arbitrary key, and submit it to any endpoint that funnels a caller-supplied token into Guardian.revoke/3 (the standard logout / session-revocation pattern). When the token module mutates state keyed by the claims (whitelist deletion or blacklist insertion, for example a GuardianDb-style store), the victim's legitimate ses

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: validate NTLMv2 response before updating session key ksmbd_auth_ntlmv2() derives the NTLMv2 session key into sess->sess_key before it verifies the NTLMv2 response. ksmbd_decode_ntlmssp_auth_blob() then continues into KEY_XCH even when ksmbd_auth_ntlmv2() failed. With SMB3 multichannel binding, the failed authentication operates on an existing session and the session setup error path does not expire binding sessions. A client can send a binding session setup with a bad NT proof and KEY_XCH and still modify sess->sess_key before STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE is returned. Relevant path: smb2_sess_setup() -> conn->binding = true -> ntlm_authenticate() -> session_user() -> ksmbd_decode_ntlmssp_auth_blob() -> ksmbd_auth_ntlmv2() -> calc_ntlmv2_hash() -> hmac_md5_usingrawkey(..., sess->sess_key) -> crypto_memneq() returns mismatch -> KEY_XCH arc4_crypt(..., sess->sess_key, ...) -> out_err without expiring the binding session Derive the base session key into a local buffer and copy it to sess->sess_key only after the proof matches. Question2Answer through 1.8.8 contains a session invalidation vulnerability that allows attackers with a previously obtained remember-me cookie to retain authenticated access by exploiting the forgot-password reset flow's failure to clear the sessioncode field in qa-include/app/users-edit.php. While the normal password-change flow in qa-include/pages/account.php explicitly clears the sessioncode to invalidate persistent qa_session cookies, the forgot-password handler qa_finish_reset_user() omits this step, allowing any valid persistent cookie issued before the reset to continue authenticating the account after the password reset completes.

SurrealDB versions before 3.1.0 contain a session hijacking vulnerability where the HTTP /rpc sessions method returns attached session UUIDs without authentication and accepts arbitrary session fields with no ownership verification. Unauthenticated attackers can enumerate session UUIDs and impersonate authenticated sessions to read, write, delete data and escalate privileges.

Jul 20, 2026Dancer2 versions before 2.2.0 for Perl generate insecure session ids when required CSPRNG modules are unavailable.CVE-2026-13577 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 8.2
Dancer2 versions before 2.2.0 for Perl generate insecure session ids when required CSPRNG modules are unavailable. Dancer2::Core::Role::SessionFactory::generate_id silently falls back to a built-in rand-derived session id unless both Math::Random::ISAAC::XS and Crypt::URandom are available. The fallback session id is generated from a SHA-1 hash of a call to the built-in rand function, the absolute path of the Dancer2::Core::Role::SessionFactory module, an internal counter, the process id, the module instance memory address, and a shuffled string of characters (using the List::Util::shuffle function, which also uses the built-in rand function). These are all low-entropy and easily guessed sources. The built-in rand() function is seeded with 32-bits and considered unsuitable for security applications. Predictable session ids could allow an attacker to gain access to systems.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix null pointer dereference in compare_guid_key() session_fd_check() walks the per-inode m_op_list during durable-handle session teardown and sets op->conn = NULL for every opinfo whose conn matched the closing session's connection. The matching opinfo, however, stays linked in its per-ClientGuid lease_table_list entry's lb->lease_list because destroy_lease_table() only runs on full TCP-connection teardown, not on SESSION_LOGOFF. If the same TCP connection then negotiates a fresh session with the same ClientGuid (ClientGuid is bound to NEGOTIATE, not the session, and is unchanged across LOGOFF + SETUP) and issues a SMB2 CREATE with a lease context on a different inode, find_same_lease_key() walks lb->lease_list, reaches the stale opinfo, and calls compare_guid_key(), which unconditionally dereferences opinfo->conn->ClientGUID. The conn pointer is NULL and the kernel panics. Reproducer requires only a successful SMB2 SESSION_SETUP and a share configured with 'durable handles = yes'. KASAN report on mainline 70390501d194: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdffffc0000000069

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: l2tp: use list_del_rcu in l2tp_session_unhash An unprivileged local user can pin a host CPU indefinitely in l2tp_session_get_by_ifname() by issuing L2TP_CMD_SESSION_GET on L2TP_ATTR_IFNAME concurrently with L2TP_CMD_SESSION_CREATE and L2TP_CMD_SESSION_DELETE on the same tunnel. All three commands take GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM, so CAP_NET_ADMIN in the netns user namespace suffices; on any host that has l2tp_core loaded the trigger is reachable from a standard `unshare -Urn` sandbox. l2tp_session_unhash() removes a session from tunnel->session_list with list_del_init(), but that list is walked by l2tp_session_get_by_ifname() with list_for_each_entry_rcu() under rcu_read_lock_bh(). list_del_init() leaves the deleted entry's next/prev self-pointing; a reader that has loaded the entry and then advances pos->list.next reads &session->list, container_of()s back to the same session, and list_for_each_entry_rcu() never reaches the list head. The CPU stays in strcmp() inside the walker, with BH and preemption disabled, so RCU grace periods on the host stall behind it and the wedged thread cannot be killed (SIGKILL is delivered

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: l2tp: use refcount_inc_not_zero in l2tp_session_get_by_ifname A reader in l2tp_session_getCVE-2026-63918 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: l2tp: use refcount_inc_not_zero in l2tp_session_get_by_ifname A reader in l2tp_session_get_by_ifname() can return a pointer to a session whose refcount has reached zero. The getter takes its reference with plain refcount_inc(), but every other session getter in the same file (l2tp_v2_session_get, l2tp_v3_session_get, and the corresponding _get_next variants) uses refcount_inc_not_zero() because the IDR/RCU lookup can race with refcount_dec_and_test() -> l2tp_session_free() -> kfree_rcu(). The ifname getter is the only outlier; the inconsistency was raised on-list after 979c017803c4 ("l2tp: use list_del_rcu in l2tp_session_unhash"). A reader inside rcu_read_lock_bh() that matches session->ifname can be preempted between the strcmp() and the refcount_inc(). If the last reference drops on another CPU in that window, the reader's refcount_inc() runs on a counter that has reached zero. refcount_t catches the addition-on-zero, prints "refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free", saturates the counter, and returns the saturated pointer to the caller. Session memory is held live by the in-flight RCU read section, but the

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: reject non-VALID session in compound request branch smb2_check_user_session() takesCVE-2026-53383 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: reject non-VALID session in compound request branch smb2_check_user_session() takes a shortcut for any operation that is not the first in a COMPOUND request: it reuses work->sess (the session bound by the first operation) and validates only the SessionId, then returns "valid". It never re-checks work->sess->state == SMB2_SESSION_VALID, and a SessionId of 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF (ULLONG_MAX, the MS-SMB2 related-operation value) skips even the id comparison. The standalone path (ksmbd_session_lookup_all() plus the SESSION_SETUP state machine) does enforce the VALID state; the compound branch bypasses all of it. A SESSION_SETUP carrying only an NTLM Type-1 (NtLmNegotiate) blob publishes a fresh SMB2_SESSION_IN_PROGRESS session whose sess->user is still NULL (->user is assigned later, by ntlm_authenticate()). Used as operation 1 of a COMPOUND with operation 2 = TREE_CONNECT (related, SessionId=ULLONG_MAX, \\host\IPC$), the tree-connect then runs on that IN_PROGRESS session and reaches ksmbd_ipc_tree_connect_request(), which dereferences user_name(sess->user) with sess->user == NULL (transport_ipc.c:687/701/704) ->

Jul 18, 2026QueryWeaver contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to obtain valid session tokens for existing accounts by submitCVE-2026-10130 · Other software · FalkorDB · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.8
QueryWeaver contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to obtain valid session tokens for existing accounts by submitting a signup request with a known victim email address. The signup route unconditionally creates and links a new token to the matching Identity via a Cypher MERGE operation before checking whether the email belongs to an existing account, causing the server to return a valid authenticated session token for the victim's identity without requiring any prior credentials or user interaction.

Jul 18, 2026The urwid web display backend (urwid/display/web.py) generates web session identifiers (urwid_id) in Screen.start() by concatenating two random.randrange(10**9)CVE-2026-9323 · Other software · urwid · reported by VulnCheckCritical 9.2
The urwid web display backend (urwid/display/web.py) generates web session identifiers (urwid_id) in Screen.start() by concatenating two random.randrange(10**9) calls that use Python's Mersenne Twister PRNG, which is not cryptographically secure. Each call consumes approximately 30 bits of PRNG state, and the Mersenne Twister internal state is approximately 19,937 bits, so an attacker who observes approximately 334 session IDs (for example via the X-Urwid-ID HTTP response header) can fully reconstruct the internal state and predict all past and future session IDs (Path B). The same identifier is also used as the filename of a FIFO created in the world-listable /tmp directory (for example /tmp/urwid375487765176907690.in), so any local user on the host can list /tmp to enumerate active session tokens directly (Path A). With a valid session ID, an attacker can read the victim's terminal screen via the polling endpoint, inject keystrokes into the victim's session (yielding OS-level code execution with the session owner's privileges if the session runs a shell), and inject exit sequences or flood the FIFO to terminate or crash the session. A prior Bandit S311 warning on this usage was s
