  • Aug 12, 2026Insufficient input sanitization in Snowflake Python API (`snowflake.core`) versions prior to 1.13.0 allowed confused-deputy privilege escalation through two relCVE-2026-19594 · Other software · Snowflake · reported by 412d305a-227d-44f9-a262-a31ba44f2aeaHigh 8.1

Insufficient input sanitization in Snowflake Python API (`snowflake.core`) versions prior to 1.13.0 allowed confused-deputy privilege escalation through two related weaknesses: path traversal (CWE-22) via unencoded `..` identifier path segments, and HTTP parameter pollution (CWE-141) via unencoded `&`/`#`/`=` characters in query string values. An attacker with access to a downstream application built on snowflake.core could exploit the path traversal by supplying `..` as an object name, causing `snowflake.core` to issue REST requests against a parent resource or exploit the parameter pollution by injecting `&`/`#`/`=` into a free-form name field to override constraints on swap, clone, or rename operations — all executed under the application's privileged session. Successful exploitation requires the attacker to control an identifier or object-name string in an application built on snowflake.core that passes it to `snowflake.core` under a higher-privileged Snowflake session (e.g., an EXECUTE AS OWNER stored procedure, Streamlit app, or Native App). The fix is available in Snowflake Python API version 1.13.0, which also addresses several additional security findings. Users must manua

  • Aug 11, 2026Bash-it 3.2.0 contains a terminal escape sequence injection vulnerability in the barbuk theme's Python virtualenv prompt segment that allows local attackers to CVE-2026-73036 · Other software · Bash-it · reported by VulnCheckMedium 4.6

Bash-it 3.2.0 contains a terminal escape sequence injection vulnerability in the barbuk theme's Python virtualenv prompt segment that allows local attackers to inject arbitrary terminal control sequences by embedding escape sequences in the requires-python field of a pyproject.toml file. When a user navigates into a directory containing a maliciously crafted pyproject.toml, the unfiltered field value is read via awk and concatenated directly into PS1 through __prompt-command without stripping control characters, causing injected OSC or CSI sequences to be written to and interpreted by the terminal emulator on every prompt render.

  • Aug 11, 2026python-socketio is a Python implementation of the Socket.IO realtime client and server.CVE-2026-48804 · Other software · miguelgrinberg · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

python-socketio is a Python implementation of the Socket.IO realtime client and server. The python-socketio server stores binary `EVENT` and `ACK` messages in memory while it waits to receive their binary attachments. Once all the attachments are received, these messages are then processed. Prior to version 5.16.4, an attacker can submit a binary message and intentionally omit sending one or more of its attachments to cause the message along with the partial list of received attachments to stay in memory for a long time. Version 5.16.4 takes the following measures to address this issue: Binary packets are only accepted from authenticated clients and, when a client disconnects, the server checks if there is a partial binary message being held for the client and deletes it.

  • Aug 11, 2026python-engineio is a Python implementation of the Engine.IO realtime client and server.CVE-2026-48809 · Other software · miguelgrinberg · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

python-engineio is a Python implementation of the Engine.IO realtime client and server. Versions prior to 4.13.2 have two specific configurations of the python-engineio server in which the size of incoming messages is not checked before the messages are loaded into memory. An attacker can take advantage of these to cause unnecessary memory allocations in the python-engineio server. The two cases are POST requests, when using ASGI with the long polling transport and WebSocket messages, when using Aiohttp with the WebSocket transport. Version 4.13.2 addresses this issue. ASGI severs now only load the body of incoming requests into memory after the client is confirmed to be known and authenticated, and the payload size is below the maximum allowed size. Requests that do not comply with these requirements are discarded. Aiohttp servers configure the maximum payload size in the underlying WebSocket layer from Aiohttp, so that large messages are discarded by Aiohttp before they are delivered to python-engineio.

  • Aug 11, 2026python-engineio is a Python implementation of the Engine.IO realtime client and server.CVE-2026-48802 · Other software · miguelgrinberg · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

python-engineio is a Python implementation of the Engine.IO realtime client and server. Prior to version 4.13.2, an attacker can cause the creation of unnecessary background threads in the python-engineio server by exploiting the heartbeat mechanism, which launches a thread when a new connection is received, and when the client sends a PONG packet. This issue primarily affects synchronous servers. Asynchronous servers allocate background tasks instead of physical threads, which are lightweight and less likely to cause denial of service. However, the fix that was implemented was also applied to the asynchronous case. Version 4.13.2 addresses this issue as follows: The initial background thread (or async task( for heartbeat management is only launched if a client passes authentication in the `connect` handler; and the server now ensures that there is only one background heatbeat thread (or async task) per client at a given point in time. Out of sequence PONG packets are now discarded when an active heartbeat thread is already running.

  • Aug 6, 2026pymdown-extensions is a collection of extensions for the Python Markdown library.CVE-2026-67422 · Other software · facelessuser · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

pymdown-extensions is a collection of extensions for the Python Markdown library. In versions up to and including 11.0, four inline processors (caret, tilde, betterem, and magiclink) use regular expressions whose content groups can partition a run of delimiter characters in exponentially many ways, causing catastrophic backtracking. As a result, a single untrusted Markdown line under 50 bytes rendered with markdown.markdown() in each extension's default configuration drives the rendering thread into unbounded CPU usage that grows exponentially with input length, enabling an unauthenticated remote attacker who can submit Markdown to cause denial of service. The exposure is concrete for web applications that render user-supplied Markdown (comments, wikis, issue bodies, live preview), including any app using pymdownx.extra which bundles the vulnerable betterem default, as well as hosted docs/CI systems that build untrusted Markdown. The issue has been fixed in version 11.0.1.

  • Aug 6, 2026PyMdown Extensions is a set of extensions for the Python-Markdown markdown project.CVE-2026-61632 · Other software · facelessuser · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

PyMdown Extensions is a set of extensions for the Python-Markdown markdown project. In versions up to and including 10.21.3, the b64 extension is vulnerable to a path traversal that discloses arbitrary files: it inlines images referenced by <img src="..."> by joining the src onto the configured base_path with os.path.normpath and opening the result directly, without verifying that the resolved path stays inside base_path. As a result, an src containing ../ sequences or an absolute path reads a file outside base_path as long as it has an allowed image extension (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .svg), and the file's contents are then base64-encoded into the rendered output, disclosing them. An application that renders untrusted Markdown with pymdownx.b64 enabled can therefore leak the contents of image-extension files readable by the process to whoever controls the Markdown or views the output, a targeted file-read bounded by the extension check. This issue has been fixed in version 11.0.

  • Aug 4, 2026PDM is a Python package and dependency manager.CVE-2026-47781 · Other software · pdm-project · reported by GitHubHigh 8.4

PDM is a Python package and dependency manager. In versions up to and including 2.26.9, PDM automatically loads project-local plugins from a .pdm-plugins directory during initialization, allowing an attacker-controlled file in an untrusted repository checkout to execute arbitrary Python code before any command is parsed. This happens because load_plugins() runs during Core.init() and adds .pdm-plugins via site.addsitedir(), which processes .pth files and immediately executes any line beginning with import, so the code runs with the privileges of the user invoking pdm and even a benign command such as pdm --version triggers it (making the impact strongest in CI, automation, and privileged contexts). Prior to 3.1.3, Flowise CSVAgent interpolates an attacker-controlled segment of the csvFile data URI directly into a Python source-code template that is then executed by Pyodide. Because Pyodide is loaded with the default js bridge to globalThis, which on Node.js exposes eval and dynamic import, the attacker can break out of the Python string literal, hand a JavaScript string to js.eval, dynamically import Node built-in modules such as fs and child_process, and execute arbitrary file I/O or OS commands as the Flowise process. The two validator paths around this code, validatePythonCodeForDataFrame and validateCustomReadCSVFunction, are never applied to the bootstrap template. A workspace user with chatflows:create or agentflows/chatflows update permission can plant a CSV Agent node with a crafted csvFile; once the chatflow is exposed via POST /api/v1/prediction/:id, any unauthenticated request triggers host remote code execution. • Aug 4, 2026pdm is a Python package and dependency manager supporting the latest PEP standards.CVE-2026-47763 · Other software · pdm-project · reported by GitHubMedium 6.8

pdm is a Python package and dependency manager supporting the latest PEP standards. In versions prior to 2.27.0, pdm writes several project-local state or configuration files without symlink protection. If a malicious repository places those files as symlinks, local PDM operations can overwrite the symlink targets. This creates an arbitrary file clobber primitive relative to the privileges of the invoking user. Config.__init__() resolves the project-local pdm.toml path and _save_config() writes to the resolved target. If PROJECT_ROOT/pdm.toml is a symlink to another file, pdm config -l ... updates the target file instead of refusing the write. The same general problem exists for other project-local persistence paths that are written directly with no lstat / O_NOFOLLOW protection. For the pdm.toml PoC specifically, the target file must already contain parseable TOML. Otherwise the load step fails before the write path is reached. That parser constraint does not apply to the .pdm-python or .python-version sinks. This issue has been fixed in version 2.27.0.

  • Aug 3, 2026python-cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers.CVE-2026-69249 · Other software · pyca · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

python-cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers. In versions 42.0.0 through 48.0.0, when resolving invalid certificate chains that include duplicate copies of self-signed certificates, the processing recursively invokes the same candidate, leading to an exponential blowup. Although the limitation that the chain depth cannot exceed a specified maximum depth prevents unbounded recursion and guarantees termination, an attacker-controlled certificate chain can lead the processing to easily take more than 5s to reject in testing. This amplification could form the basis for a resource exhaustion denial of service attack. The core issue arises in the recursive nature of build_chain_inner, which does not de-duplicate against previously analyzed candidates. As the correctness of validation is not affected, the integrity of a system cannot be compromised through this vector, only its availability. This issue is fixed in 49.0.0.

In versions 45.0.0 through 48.0.0, if an intermediate constrained CA permits the DNS name foo.example.com, and the leaf certificate has a wildcard in its DNS SAN of *.example.com, python-cryptography's verifier accepts which allows escaping outside of the permitted names. The core issue is in DNSConstraint::matches, where a wildcard pattern was treated as matching a more-specific permitted constraint even though *.example.com can expand to sibling names such as bar.example.com outside foo.example.com. This allows acceptance of an invalid certificate chain. This issue is fixed in 49.0.0.

cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers. From 44.0.0 until 50.0.0, pkcs7_decrypt_der, pkcs7_decrypt_pem, and pkcs7_decrypt_smime reported the outcome of decrypting a RecipientInfo's encryptedKey in several distinguishable ways, one of which disclosed the exact length recovered from the RSA operation. The same distinction was also observable by timing. An application that decrypts attacker-supplied EnvelopedData and reflects the outcome gives the attacker a Bleichenbacher oracle against the content-encryption key. Decryption ran as RSA PKCS#1 v1.5 decrypt of encryptedKey, build an AES cipher from the result, then AES-CBC decrypt and PKCS#7 unpad. Invalid RSA padding, a valid padding with a bad key length, a correct length with a wrong key, and the real key each failed or succeeded differently. Case 1 is reachable only where the linked library lacks implicit rejection: OpenSSL 3.0 and 3.1, LibreSSL, and BoringSSL. Exploitation requires a service that auto-decrypts untrusted EnvelopedData matching the victim certificate and answers adaptively at high volume, such as an S/MIME gateway or mail filter. GitPython before 3.1.51 fails to guard against dangerous Git options passed as keyword arguments in Repo.archive() and git.ls_remote(), allowing command injection via options such as --exec/--upload-pack (leading to arbitrary command execution). Additionally, Repo.iter_commits() and Repo.blame() do not check for leading-dash revision arguments, so a revision like --output=<path> can cause Git to open and truncate an arbitrary file. Exploitation requires an application that passes attacker-controlled arguments to these methods.

  • Aug 1, 2026GitPython before 3.1.52 is vulnerable to environment-variable exfiltration in Repo.clone_from().CVE-2026-67322 · Other software · gitpython-developers · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

GitPython before 3.1.52 is vulnerable to environment-variable exfiltration in Repo.clone_from(). The caller-supplied remote URL is passed through Git.polish_url(), which on non-Cygwin platforms calls os.path.expandvars() on the URL before invoking git clone. An attacker who controls the clone URL can embed $NAME or ${NAME} tokens that are expanded to the values of the hosting process's environment variables (e.g., AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY or GITHUB_TOKEN). The resulting URL, now containing the secret, is transmitted over the network to an attacker-controlled host during the clone attempt, disclosing the secret.

PIA's `POST /v1/upload/sbom` endpoint accepts a Bearer JWT and checks its **unverified** `iss` claim against an issuer allowlist using Python's `urlparse` before performing OIDC discovery with `requests`. Because `urlparse` and `requests`/`urllib3` parse an authority string containing a backslash (e.g. `https://attacker-host\@ci.eclipse.org/`) into *different* hostnames, an attacker can craft an issuer that passes the allowlist check yet drives `requests` — and subsequently `urllib.request.urlopen` for JWKS retrieval — to connect to an arbitrary attacker-chosen host, port, and scheme.

  • Jul 29, 2026Pydantic AI is a Python agent framework for building applications and workflows with Generative AI.CVE-2026-65975 · Other software · pydantic · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Pydantic AI is a Python agent framework for building applications and workflows with Generative AI. In versions 1.88.0 up to but not including 1.107.1 and 2.0.0b1 up to but not including 2.5.0, the UI adapters (AG-UI via Agent.to_ag_ui()/AGUIAdapter, and Vercel AI via VercelAIAdapter) use sanitize_messages to strip unresolved ("dangling") client-submitted tool calls from untrusted message history before it reaches the agent, a defense-in-depth default that prevents the agent from executing tool calls the model never emitted. However, the strip anchored to a message index computed before sanitization ran, so when a trailing client message sanitized to empty and was dropped (for example a client system message under the default manage_system_prompt='server'), a preceding assistant response carrying an unresolved tool call became the new tail and was dispatched without inspection. As a result, a remote client could cause a registered, non-approval server tool to run with client-supplied arguments rather than arguments the model produced. The impact is bounded by what the affected tools do and is most significant for applications that gate tool execution in a model-request hook (before

  • Jul 29, 2026Pydantic AI is a Python agent framework for building Generative AI applications.CVE-2026-54249 · Other software · pydantic · reported by GitHubMedium 6.8

Pydantic AI is a Python agent framework for building Generative AI applications. In versions 1.65.0 through 1.105.0, and 2.0.0b1 through 2.0.0b5, a client that submits message history to a Pydantic AI UI adapter (such as the Vercel AI adapter) can reference arbitrary files in the application's model-provider or cloud-storage account. While file URL parts are validated against a scheme allowlist, UploadedFile references — which point to a file by provider file ID or cloud-storage URI (e.g. s3://…, gs://…) — were forwarded without validation. Because the provider resolves an UploadedFile using the server-side identity (IAM role, service account, or provider API key) rather than the client's, an attacker can craft message history to make the server read objects from its own account or other tenants, given a referenceable identifier. Exploitation requires a valid file identifier, which is not always unguessable depending on how the application names objects. This issue has been fixed in versions 1.106.0 and 2.0.0b6.

  • Jul 29, 2026Pydantic AI is a Python agent framework for building Generative AI applications.CVE-2026-46678 · Other software · pydantic · reported by GitHubMedium 6.8

Pydantic AI is a Python agent framework for building Generative AI applications. In versions 1.56.0 through 1.98.0, when an application opts a URL into force_download='allow-local' (disabling the default block on private/internal IPs), the cloud-metadata blocklist could be bypassed by encoding the metadata IP in an IPv6 transition form (IPv4-mapped IPv6, 6to4, or NAT64), exposing cloud IAM short-term credentials on dual-stack or translated networks. This is an incomplete fix of GHSA-2jrp-274c-jhv3 / CVE-2026-25580, whose remediation did not hold for IPv6-encoded forms of the metadata IPs. An application is affected only if it explicitly opts a FileUrl (ImageUrl, AudioUrl, VideoUrl, DocumentUrl) into force_download='allow-local' on a URL influenced by untrusted input; it is not affected when using bundled integrations to ingest user input (Agent.to_web / clai web, VercelAIAdapter, AGUIAdapter / Agent.to_ag_ui), since they do not propagate force_download from external data, nor when downloading only from developer-controlled URLs. This issue has been fixed in version 1.99.0.

  • Jul 29, 2026joserfc is a Python library that provides an implementation of several JSON Object Signing and Encryption (JOSE) standards.CVE-2026-62995 · Other software · authlib · reported by GitHubLow 2.3

joserfc is a Python library that provides an implementation of several JSON Object Signing and Encryption (JOSE) standards. in versions 1.7.1 and prior, joserfc accepts JWTs with trailing padding (==) which are not conforming to the JOSE specifications. This leads to malleability of the JWTs when consumed by joserfc. Depending on this application this might or not be an issue. This could lead to bypass of token revocation or anti-replay protection when implemented as a deny list of tokens or a deny list of token hashes. Note that ECDSA JWS are always malleable because of the malleability of ECDSA signatures (first test case in the code bellow). This makes a scheme which assumes that JWTs are not malleable brittle. However for other signatures (or MAC) schemes it might make sense to assume non malleability of the token. This issue has been fixed in version 1.7.2.
