  • Jan 28, 2026soroban-sdk is a Rust SDK for Soroban contracts.CVE-2026-24889 · Other software · stellar · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

    soroban-sdk is a Rust SDK for Soroban contracts. Arithmetic overflow can be triggered in the `Bytes::slice`, `Vec::slice`, and `Prng::gen_range` (for `u64`) methods in the `soroban-sdk` in versions up to and including `25.0.1`, `23.5.1`, and `25.0.2`. Contracts that pass user-controlled or computed range bounds to `Bytes::slice`, `Vec::slice`, or `Prng::gen_range` may silently operate on incorrect data ranges or generate random numbers from an unintended range, potentially resulting in corrupted contract state. Note that the best practice when using the `soroban-sdk` and building Soroban contracts is to always enable `overflow-checks = true`. The `stellar contract init` tool that prepares the boiler plate for a Soroban contract, as well as all examples and docs, encourage the use of configuring `overflow-checks = true` on `release` profiles so that these arithmetic operations fail rather than silently wrap. Contracts are only impacted if they use `overflow-checks = false` either explicitly or implicitly. It is anticipated the majority of contracts could not be impacted because the best practice encouraged by tooling is to enable `overflow-checks`. The fix available in `25.0.1`, `23

    `bulk_extractor` is a digital forensics exploitation tool. Starting in version 1.4, `bulk_extractor`’s embedded unrar code has a heap‑buffer‑overflow in the RAR PPM LZ decoding path. A crafted RAR inside a disk image causes an out‑of‑bounds write in `Unpack::CopyString`, leading to a crash under ASAN (and likely a crash or memory corruption in production builds). There's potential for using this for RCE. As of time of publication, no known patches are available.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: caif: fix integer underflow in cffrml_receive() The cffrml_receive() function extracts a length field from the packet header and, when FCS is disabled, subtracts 2 from this length without validating that len >= 2. If an attacker sends a malicious packet with a length field of 0 or 1 to an interface with FCS disabled, the subtraction causes an integer underflow. This can lead to memory exhaustion and kernel instability, potential information disclosure if padding contains uninitialized kernel memory. Fix this by validating that len >= 2 before performing the subtraction.

  • Nov 28, 2025Keras version 3.11.3 is affected by a path traversal vulnerability in the keras.utils.get_file() function when extracting tar archives.CVE-2025-12638 · Other software · keras-team · reported by security@huntr.devHigh 8

    Keras version 3.11.3 is affected by a path traversal vulnerability in the keras.utils.get_file() function when extracting tar archives. The vulnerability arises because the function uses Python's tarfile.extractall() method without the security-critical filter='data' parameter. Although Keras attempts to filter unsafe paths using filter_safe_paths(), this filtering occurs before extraction, and a PATH_MAX symlink resolution bug triggers during extraction. This bug causes symlink resolution to fail due to path length limits, resulting in a security bypass that allows files to be written outside the intended extraction directory. This can lead to arbitrary file writes outside the cache directory, enabling potential system compromise or malicious code execution. The vulnerability affects Keras installations that process tar archives with get_file() and does not affect versions where this extraction method is secured with the appropriate filter parameter.

    The Primakon Pi Portal 1.0.18 /api/V2/pp_users?email endpoint is used for user data filtering but lacks proper server-side validation against the authenticated session. By manipulating the email parameter to an arbitrary value (e.g., otheruser@user.com), an attacker can assume the session and gain full access to the target user's data and privileges. Also, if the email parameter is left blank, the application defaults to the first user in the list, who is typically the application administrator, resulting in an immediate Privilege Escalation to the highest level.

    A SQL Injection vulnerability on an endpoint in BEIMS Contractor Web, a legacy product that is no longer maintained or patched by the vendor, allows an unauthorised user to retrieve sensitive database contents via unsanitized parameter input. This vulnerability occurs due to improper input validation on /BEIMSWeb/contractor.asp endpoint and successful exploitation requires a contractor.asp endpoint open to the internet. This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands, compromising the confidentiality, integrity and potentially the availability of the database.  Version 5.7.139  has been confirmed as vulnerable. Other versions have not been confirmed by the vendor and users should assume that all versions of BEIMS Contractor Web may be impacted until further guidance is provided by the vendor.

  • Nov 10, 2025Pdfminer.six is a community maintained fork of the original PDFMiner, a tool for extracting information from PDF documents.CVE-2025-64512 · Other software · pdfminer · reported by GitHubHigh 8.6

    Pdfminer.six is a community maintained fork of the original PDFMiner, a tool for extracting information from PDF documents. Prior to version 20251107, pdfminer.six will execute arbitrary code from a malicious pickle file if provided with a malicious PDF file. The `CMapDB._load_data()` function in pdfminer.six uses `pickle.loads()` to deserialize pickle files. These pickle files are supposed to be part of the pdfminer.six distribution stored in the `cmap/` directory, but a malicious PDF can specify an alternative directory and filename as long as the filename ends in `.pickle.gz`. A malicious, zipped pickle file can then contain code which will automatically execute when the PDF is processed. Version 20251107 fixes the issue.

Version 1.0.0 does not prevent a malicious user to feed a specially crafted archive to the library causing RCE, modification of files or other malignancies in the context of whatever the user is running this library as, through the program that imports it. Severity depends on user permissions, environment and how arbitrary archives are passed. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.1.

  • Oct 30, 2025The keras.utils.get_file API in Keras, when used with the extract=True option for tar archives, is vulnerable to a path traversal attack.CVE-2025-12060 · Other software · Keras · reported by cve-coordination@google.comHigh 8.9

    The keras.utils.get_file API in Keras, when used with the extract=True option for tar archives, is vulnerable to a path traversal attack. The utility uses Python's tarfile.extractall function without the filter="data" feature. A remote attacker can craft a malicious tar archive containing special symlinks, which, when extracted, allows them to write arbitrary files to any location on the filesystem outside of the intended destination folder. This vulnerability is linked to the underlying Python tarfile weakness, identified as CVE-2025-4517. Note that upgrading Python to one of the versions that fix CVE-2025-4517 (e.g. Python 3.13.4) is not enough. One additionally needs to upgrade Keras to a version with the fix (Keras 3.12).

  • Oct 28, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pinctrl: check the return value of pinmux_ops::get_function_name() While the API contract CVE-2025-40030 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pinctrl: check the return value of pinmux_ops::get_function_name() While the API contract in docs doesn't specify it explicitly, the generic implementation of the get_function_name() callback from struct pinmux_ops - pinmux_generic_get_function_name() - can fail and return NULL. This is already checked in pinmux_check_ops() so add a similar check in pinmux_func_name_to_selector() instead of passing the returned pointer right down to strcmp() where the NULL can get dereferenced. This is normal operation when adding new pinfunctions.
