  • Jul 5, 2026Mojo::JSON versions before 9.47 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via unbounded recursion in the pure-Perl decoder.CVE-2026-14803 · Websites & servers · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eMedium 6.5

Mojo::JSON versions before 9.47 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via unbounded recursion in the pure-Perl decoder. The pure-Perl decode path (`_decode_value` dispatching to `_decode_array` and `_decode_object`) recurses with no depth limit, so a small deeply nested JSON document can consume excessive memory. This path is the default when Cpanel::JSON::XS is not installed or `MOJO_NO_JSON_XS=1` is set; the Cpanel::JSON::XS fast path is not affected. Any caller that decodes an untrusted JSON body, for example `Mojo::Message::json` reached through `$c->req->json`, can exhaust process memory and cause denial of service.

  • Jul 3, 2026JSON API User: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-9626 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.4

The JSON API User plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'content' parameter of the post_comment API endpoint in versions up to, and including, 4.1.0 This is due to insufficient input sanitization in the post_comment() function, which passes the attacker-controlled comment_content value directly to wp_insert_comment() without applying any HTML sanitization, and additionally allows the caller to set comment_approved=1 to self-approve the comment and bypass moderation. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

  • Jul 2, 2026In liboauth2 the Demonstrating Proof-of-Possession (DPoP) verifier accepts a proof whose JSON Web Key (jwk) header contains private key material.CVE-2026-54431 · Other software · OpenIDC · reported by cvd@cert.plMedium 5.1

In liboauth2 the Demonstrating Proof-of-Possession (DPoP) verifier accepts a proof whose JSON Web Key (jwk) header contains private key material. RFC 9449 section 4.3 step 7 requires the verifier to reject such a proof but oauth2_token_verify() function returns success for a malformed DPoP proof that embeds the private Elliptic Curve (EC) key in the header. In Eclipse Parsson published Maven Central artifacts before version 1.1.8, the JSON parser did not enforce a default maximum on the number of characters consumed while parsing a single JSON document. Applications that parse attacker- controlled JSON can be forced to consume excessive CPU and memory by processing very large documents, including large arrays, objects, strings, numbers, whitespace, or nested structures, resulting in a denial of service. Eclipse Parsson 1.1.8 introduces a configurable maximum parsing limit with a default limit of 15 million parser-consumed characters.

  • Jun 30, 2026Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem.CVE-2026-54903 · Other software · ohler55 · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. In versions prior to 3.17.2, Oj.load is vulnerable to heap corruption when parsing a JSON string longer than 2 GB. An integer overflow in buf_append_string (buf.h:61) converts the string length to a large negative size_t, causing memcpy to copy an astronomically large amount of data out of bounds. This crashes the process and can corrupt adjacent heap memory. The issue has been fixed in version 3.17.2.

  • Jun 30, 2026Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem.CVE-2026-54902 · Other software · ohler55 · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. Prior to version 3.17.2, is vulnerable to Use-After-Free when in SAJ mode. The Oj::Parser does not protect cached object keys (≥ 35 bytes) from garbage collection, and a Ruby callback that triggers GC inside hash_end can cause the key string to be reclaimed while the C parser still holds a pointer to it. The subsequent access to the freed string VALUE results in a segfault, confirmed by an RIP pointing to address 0x4242 (a canary-style pattern suggesting control over the freed memory's content). This issue has been fixed in version 3.17.2.

  • Jun 30, 2026Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem.CVE-2026-54901 · Other software · ohler55 · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. In versions prior to 3.17.2, Oj::Parser in usual mode does not mark array_class and hash_class references during garbage collection, leading to Use-After-Free. If GC runs after the class is assigned but before a parse, the class object is reclaimed, leaving the parser holding a dangling VALUE. The subsequent parse call dereferences the freed object, producing a segfault. This issue has been fixed in version 3.17.2.

  • Jun 30, 2026Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem.CVE-2026-54900 · Other software · ohler55 · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. In versions prior to 3.17.2, when in usual mode with create_id enabled, Oj::Parser#parse is vulnerable to heap corruption via a negative-size memcpy. When a JSON object key is exactly 65,535 bytes long, an integer truncation in form_attr (usual.c:63) converts the length to -1 before passing it to memcpy. This causes memcpy to copy SIZE_MAX bytes (interpreted as a huge size_t), corrupting heap memory and crashing the process. The issue has been fixed in version 3.17.2.

  • Jun 30, 2026Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem.CVE-2026-54899 · Other software · ohler55 · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. Prior to version 3.17.2, disabling symbol_keys on a reused Oj::Parser instance triggers a heap use-after-free. When symbol_keys is toggled from true to false, opt_symbol_keys_set frees the internal key cache (cache_free) but does not clear the pointer. The next parse call reads from the freed cache via cache_intern, producing a use-after-free. This issue has been fixed in version 3.17.2.

  • Jun 30, 2026Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem.CVE-2026-54898 · Other software · ohler55 · reported by GitHubLow 2.1

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. In versions prior to 3.17.2,Oj::Parser#parse is vulnerable to a heap use-after-free when a SAJ/SAJ2 callback mutates the input JSON string during parsing. The C engine holds a raw const byte * pointer into the Ruby string's internal buffer. If a callback (e.g. hash_start) resizes the string — for example by calling String#replace with a longer value — Ruby reallocates the string buffer and frees the old one. The C parser's pointer is left dangling; the next character read at parser.c:607 is a use-after-free. This issue has been fixed in version 3.17.2.

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. Prior to 3.17.2, Oj::Doc iterators (each_value, each_child, each_leaf) were vulnerable to a heap use-after-free. When a Ruby block yielded during iteration calls doc.close or d.close, the document's heap memory is freed while the C iterator is still running. When control returns from the block, the iterator reads from the freed region, producing a use-after-free accessible from pure Ruby. This issue has been fixed in version 3.17.2.

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. In versions prior to 3.17.2, when in object mode, Oj.dump is vulnerable to a heap buffer overflow when serializing Exception objects with a large :indent value. The serializer allocates a buffer sized for the object's attributes but does not account for the indent bytes added on each write. With indent: 5000, the accumulation of 5,000-byte indent strings overflows the 13,150-byte heap allocation, corrupting adjacent heap memory. This issue has been fixed in version 3.17.2.

  • Jun 30, 2026Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem.CVE-2026-54592 · Other software · ohler55 · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. In versions prior to 3.17.3, Oj::Doc#each_child, when invoked recursively over a deeply nested JSON document, overflows a fixed-size stack buffer and aborts the process, leading to DoS. In a two-step chain in ext/oj/fast.c, doc_each_child increments doc->where past the where_path[MAX_STACK = 100] array with no bounds check and never restores it (the doc->where-- is missing), so calling each_child recursively from inside the yield block drives doc->where beyond the array. On the next entry the function copies the path into the 800-byte stack-local buffer save_path[MAX_STACK] using wlen = doc->where - doc->where_path, so when the previous recursive call left doc->where past where_path[100] the wlen exceeds MAX_STACK and the memcpy overflows save_path on the C stack; because the Oj::Doc parser imposes no JSON nesting-depth limit (relying on a C-stack pressure check), deeply nested attacker input reaches this path. This issue has been fixed in version 3.17.3.

In versions prior to 3.17.2, Oj.dump is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow when a large :indent value is provided by the developer. fill_indent in dump.h calls memset(indent_str, ' ', (size_t)opts->indent) without validating the size. When opts->indent is set to INT_MAX (2,147,483,647), the (size_t) cast preserves the large value and memset writes 2 GB into the stack-allocated out buffer (4,184 bytes), corrupting the stack and crashing the process. • Jun 30, 2026Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem.CVE-2026-54500 · Other software · ohler55 · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. In versions prior to 3.17.3, Oj.load in :object mode reads uninitialized stack memory (and, for long keys, reads out of bounds) when parsing a JSON object whose key is 254 bytes or longer. The interned bytes can surface to the caller, disclosing process stack memory. In ext/oj/intern.c, form_attr() handles the long-key path by allocating a heap buffer, `b`, populating it with the attribute name, and then freeing it — but it passed the uninitialized stack buffer buf (not b) to rb_intern3(). rb_intern3 therefore reads len + 1 bytes of uninitialized stack memory. When the key length is >= 256, it also reads out of bounds past the 256-byte buf. The resulting bytes are interned and can reach the caller via the produced Symbol or via the EncodingError message raised on invalid UTF-8, leaking process stack contents. This issue has been fixed in version 3.17.3.

SeaweedFS before 4.30 reflects the callback query parameter verbatim into responses served with Content-Type application/javascript in the shared writeJson helper (weed/server/common.go), with no callback-name validation, no X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff header, and no CORS allow-list. Every JSON endpoint that uses writeJson - including the unauthenticated master endpoints /dir/status, /dir/lookup and /cluster/status, the volume server /status, and the filer directory listing, all reachable in the default configuration (no -whiteList, no security.toml, bound to 0.0.0.0) - can therefore be loaded cross-origin via a script tag with a chosen callback, letting a third-party web page read cluster topology, volume server URLs and gRPC ports, file identifiers, and directory listings. Because the callback string is reflected at the start of the body and no nosniff header is sent, MIME-sniffing clients may also interpret the reflected content as HTML.

  • Jun 25, 2026jq is a command-line JSON processor.CVE-2026-49839 · Other software · jqlang · reported by GitHubHigh 7.1

jq is a command-line JSON processor. Prior to 1.8.2,` jq --rawfile` can turn a handled oversized-string error into invalid-state reuse and a real heap out-of-bounds write in assertion-disabled builds. When jv_load_file(raw=1) reads an attacker-controlled file, it repeatedly appends file chunks to the same jv string accumulator. Once jv_string_append_buf() returns jv_invalid_with_msg("String too long"), the raw-file loop does not stop. If the file contains at least one more byte, the next loop iteration appends a new chunk to an object that is already invalid. With assertions enabled this aborts in jvp_string_ptr(). With assertions disabled, the invalid object is interpreted as a string object and ASan reports heap-buffer-overflow. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.8.2.

jq is a command-line JSON processor. Prior to 1.8.2, comparing two sufficiently deeply nested arrays with the == operator exhausts the C stack on jq's ordinary command-line surface, resulting in denial of service via stack exhaustion (uncontrolled recursion). The crash occurs in jq's recursive structural comparison code, with the recursion repeating through jvp_array_equal() and jv_equal() in src/jv.c when comparing deeply nested arrays; a nearby sort comparator path through jv_cmp() in src/jv_aux.c overflows the stack at a larger nesting depth from the same missing recursion guard. Anyone running jq comparisons on attacker-controlled deeply nested JSON values, or embedding jq in a context where untrusted data can reach the == comparison path, is affected. • Jun 12, 2026jmespath.php allows users to use JMESPath, software for declaratively specifying how to extract elements from a JSON document, in PHP applications with PHP dataCVE-2026-54133 · Other software · jmespath · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8

jmespath.php allows users to use JMESPath, software for declaratively specifying how to extract elements from a JSON document, in PHP applications with PHP data structures. Versions prior to 2.9.1 can generate and execute attacker-controlled PHP code when `JmesPath\CompilerRuntime` is used with an attacker-controlled JMESPath expression. The compiler emits parsed JMESPath function names into generated PHP source without sufficient escaping. A crafted expression can cause the generated cache file to contain executable attacker-controlled PHP, which is then loaded by the compiler runtime. The issue is patched in `2.9.1` and later. As a workaround, disable `JP_PHP_COMPILE` and do not use `JmesPath\CompilerRuntime` with attacker-controlled expressions. Use the default `AstRuntime` for untrusted expressions. Applications that must continue accepting untrusted JMESPath expressions before upgrading should ensure those expressions are never evaluated by the compiler runtime.

A vulnerability in Apache CXF's JwsJsonContainerRequestFilter can be exploited to cause CXF to process metadata that was not authenticated by the accepted signature. This can bypass the application's assumption that accepted `Content-Type` or protected HTTP-header metadata came from a verified signature entry, and may steer downstream JAX-RS entity parsing or signed-header consistency checks. Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.2 or 4.1.7 or 3.6.12, which fix this issue.

  • Jun 2, 2026Cpanel::JSON::XS versions before 4.41 for Perl allow denial of service via UTF-8 BOM prefixed input when a decode filter callback throws.CVE-2026-9516 · Websites & servers · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.5

Cpanel::JSON::XS versions before 4.41 for Perl allow denial of service via UTF-8 BOM prefixed input when a decode filter callback throws. To skip a leading 3-byte UTF-8 BOM, decode_json() advances the input scalar's string pointer past the mark with SvPV_set() and restores it only on the normal return path. When decoding aborts through a Perl exception, for example a filter_json_object callback that croaks, the restore is skipped and the scalar is left with its string pointer offset into its own buffer and a shortened length. When that scalar is later freed, the allocator receives an invalid pointer and the interpreter aborts. A single BOM prefixed document decoded with a throwing filter callback crashes any caller.

Cpanel::JSON::XS versions before 4.41 for Perl allow type confusion via duplicate object keys when dupkeys_as_arrayref is enabled. decode_hv() collapses duplicate object keys into an array reference under dupkeys_as_arrayref. The branch reached for a duplicate key tests `SvTYPE (old_value) != SVt_RV && SvTYPE (SvRV (old_value)) != SVt_PVAV`, which evaluates SvRV(old_value) before establishing that old_value is a reference. When the existing value is a plain scalar rather than an array reference, a non-reference scalar is dereferenced as a reference. A caller decoding untrusted JSON with dupkeys_as_arrayref enabled is crashed, and the incompatible access follows a pointer taken from attacker controlled scalar contents.
