  • Sep 2, 2026Advanced Custom Fields: Extended: Does not verify that the requester is authorized to edit the targeted user account in the update-user action of its front-end Forms module; it only checks a capabilityCVE-2026-12526 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WPScanHigh 8.1

The Advanced Custom Fields: Extended WordPress plugin before 0.9.2.7 does not verify that the requester is authorized to edit the targeted user account in the update-user action of its front-end Forms module; it only checks a capability when the submitted role is administrator or super_admin. On a site that exposes a publicly reachable front-end form whose user-update action targets an existing administrator (a fixed target, or one mapped to a visitor-submitted field) and maps the password to a visitor-submitted field, an unauthenticated visitor can overwrite that administrator's password and take over the account. The User Profile Builder – Beautiful User Registration Forms, User Profiles & User Role Editor plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'email' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 4.0.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The payload reaches administrators with the manage_options capability when they visit the Users > Unconfirmed Email Addresses list table and interact with row-action links, as the poisoned javascript: href is rendered verbatim into the page HTML by row_actions().

  • Aug 29, 2026Custom User Registration Fields for WooCommerce: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-15369 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8

The Custom User Registration Fields for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in versions up to, and including, 2.2.3. This is due to the plugin accepting an attacker-controlled afreg_select_user_role value from the unauthenticated WooCommerce Store API /wc/store/v1/checkout request in the af_reg_checkout_data_to_order_meta_data_block() function, persisting it in order meta, and then passing it directly to WP_User::add_role() in the af_reg_custom_order_processing_function() function (hooked to woocommerce_thankyou) without validating against the plugin's admin-configured allowed role list. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to elevate their privileges to Administrator by creating an account during checkout with a modified JSON body specifying administrator (or any other role slug) as the desired role. Note: The exploit requires the "User Role Selection" setting to be enabled.

  • Aug 28, 2026One User Avatar | User Profile Picture: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-18983 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 7.5

The One User Avatar | User Profile Picture plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in all versions up to, and including, 2.5.4 via the wpua_action_process_option_update function. This is due to insufficient file type validation in wp_handle_upload() called without a MIME allow-list, with post-write validation relying on the attacker-controlled client-supplied Content-Type header rather than a server-derived type, and no cleanup of files that fail the check. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to upload files that may be executable, which makes remote code execution possible. in order to exploit this vulnerability an admin has to give subscribers permission to upload avatars. While PHP files and svg files are rejected, dxfp files are accepted.
