Issue summary: A malicious remote peer may flood the local QUIC stack with NEW_CONNECTION_ID frames by avoiding a limit check on how many connection IDs the remote QUIC stack can use. Impact summary: The local QUIC stack sends a RETIRE_CONN_ID frame for every NEW_CONNECTION_ID frame it receives. The RETIRE_CONN_ID frame is dispatched via the Control Frame Queue (CFQ). If the remote peer also withholds ACKs, then it can force the local stack to allocate ~400MB (depending on ACK delay). CWE: CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling Description: RFC 9000 sections 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 [1] describe the mechanism by which a remote peer can notify the local QUIC stack to change the destination connection ID (a.k.a. CID) the local stack uses to identify the connection at the remote peer. Each CID is associated with a sequence number. The sequence number is transmitted in NEW_CONNECTION_ID and RETIRE_CONNECTION_ID frames to identify the CID which is being either associated with a connection or retired. The remote peer sends a NEW_CONNECTION_ID frame to let the local stack know a new CID is being associated with an existing connection. The NEW_CONNECTION_ID frame carries

  • Sep 29, 2026Issue summary: OpenSSL QUIC stack does not enforce connection level flow control for streams.CVE-2026-75804 · Websites & servers · OpenSSL · reported by openssl-security@openssl.orgMedium 5.3

Issue summary: OpenSSL QUIC stack does not enforce connection level flow control for streams. Remote peers may send more bytes as long as they fit within the stream flow control limits. Impact summary: A malicious remote peer may exploit the lack of connection flow control for streams to make the QUIC stack receive ~100MB of memory instead of 768 KiB (default flow control window size). CWE: CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling Description: The local QUIC stack advertises two flow control limits to its remote peer: stream flow control limit and connection flow control limit. The remote peer must follow both limits when transmitting stream data. Whenever the local QUIC stack receives a stream frame, it validates that the size of the received stream frame stays within flow control limits. If either limit is exceeded (stream level or connection level), then the QUIC stack must close the connection with a flow control error. The vulnerable OpenSSL QUIC stack enforces the stream-level but not the connection-level limit. To exploit the issue, three conditions must be met: - the remote peer opens several streams - each stream must stay within the stream-le

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: don't downgrade half-dead scalar zero spills to STACK_ZERO states.c:__clean_func_statCVE-2026-98132 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: don't downgrade half-dead scalar zero spills to STACK_ZERO states.c:__clean_func_state() can downgrade scalar zero spill to STACK_ZERO in the following case: *(u64 *)(r10 - 8) = 0; ... checkpoint ... r1 = *(u32 *)(r10 - 4); ... no reads from r10-8 ... Here 4 bytes at r10-8 are dead and verifier changes scalar spill to a combination: 0000pppp (p stands for poison). Such a change breaks precision propagation chains. All places that produce STACK_ZERO should call bpf_mark_chain_precision() for the zero source. This patch fixes the bug in a simplest way possible: avoids converting stack spills of zero to STACK_ZERO. Two smarter approaches are possible: - do bpf_mark_chain_precision() from __clean_func_state() - check slot liveness information in check_stack_write_fixed_off() I investigated both and the changes required are a bit tricky, hence go with a simple fix for the time being.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Mark faultable stack helpers as sleepable The faultable variants of bpf_get_stack() aCVE-2026-98045 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Mark faultable stack helpers as sleepable The faultable variants of bpf_get_stack() and bpf_get_task_stack() pass may_fault=true into the common stack collection code. Resolving user-space build IDs may then call build_id_parse_file() and block on filesystem reads. Neither helper prototype sets might_sleep. Since prototype selection uses the sleepability of the whole program, the verifier can still allow these helpers from a non-sleepable region within that program, such as an explicit RCU or preemption-disabled region. The task-stack helper can also be called from a non-sleepable timer callback of a sleepable program. Mark both faultable prototypes as sleepable. The existing helper context check then rejects these calls while continuing to allow them in genuinely sleepable contexts.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix memory corruption from the histogram stacktrace modifier parse_field() sets HIST_FIELD_FL_STACKTRACE from the ".stacktrace" modifier before it looks the field name up, and nothing afterwards checks that the name resolved to a field which holds a stacktrace. create_hist_field() picks HIST_FIELD_FN_STACK on the strength of the field pointer alone, which reads a __data_loc word from the record and follows its low 16 bits as an offset into the same record. event_hist_trigger() takes the first word there as an entry count and copies that many longs into a 31 entry array: n_entries = *stack; memcpy(entries, ++stack, n_entries * sizeof(unsigned long)); Neither end of that copy is bounded, and the count is whatever the event holds at the offset, so any field will do: # cd /sys/kernel/tracing/events/sched/sched_process_fork # echo 'hist:keys=parent_pid.stacktrace' > trigger # (true) BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000008 RIP: 0010:rb_insert_color+0x18/0x130 timerqueue_linked_add+0x7e/0xd0 enqueue_hrtimer+0x39/0xb0 __hrtimer_run_queues+0x10f/0x1f0 </IRQ> R

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix memory corruption from a "STACKTRACE" histogram key "cpu", "CPU", "stacktrace" and "STACKTRACE" are generic fields, defined with an offset and a size of zero so that the filter code can match them by name. parse_field() maps them onto their common_* equivalents for backward compatibility, but unlike the common_* names it hands the placeholder back to the caller instead of NULL. create_hist_field() takes a non-NULL field as a promise that the record carries a stacktrace and picks HIST_FIELD_FN_STACK, so the __data_loc word is read from offset 0, that is from common_type, and its low 16 bits are followed as an offset into the record. What is found there becomes the length of an unbounded memcpy. Pick an event whose id is small enough that the offset stays inside its own record and the length is a kernel text address: # cd /sys/kernel/tracing # echo 'hist:keys=STACKTRACE' > events/ftrace/print/trigger # echo hello > trace_marker Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address RIP: 0010:rb_next+0x23/0x60 </IRQ> RIP: 0010:memcpy+0xc/0x30 event_hist_trigger+0x2e7/0x1

In OpenStack Swift before 2.38.2, the tempurl middleware does not reject the X-Copy-From header on PUT requests. A TempURL signature only covers the method, expiry, and path, and thus the list of disallowed headers is the only defense against a signed PUT request changing what the request does. An attacker holding a PUT TempURL for a single object can add an X-Copy-From header naming any object in the same account; the copy middleware copies that object to the destination, and the attacker then reads the victim's data back with a GET TempURL for the destination object. Copies across account boundaries are rejected. Only deployments using the shipped default proxy pipeline (tempurl and copy middleware) with account-level TempURL keys are affected.

  • Sep 22, 2026A stack-based buffer overflow in the dynamic loader (ld.so) of the GNU C Library (glibc) versions 2.14 through 2.44 allows a local attacker to crash or corrupt CVE-2026-95818 · Other software · The GNU C Library · reported by 3ff69d7a-14f2-4f67-a097-88dee7810d18Low 3.6

A stack-based buffer overflow in the dynamic loader (ld.so) of the GNU C Library (glibc) versions 2.14 through 2.44 allows a local attacker to crash or corrupt the memory of setuid/setgid (AT_SECURE) programs. When such a program's DT_RPATH or DT_RUNPATH begins with $ORIGIN and is followed by NUL or '/' the loader both reads past the end of the path buffer and writes past the end of a stack-allocated internal buffer. The corrupted loader stack can lead to a loader crash (denial of service) and limited disclosure of process memory.

In OpenStack Octavia before 18.0.1, the Amphora provider driver did not validate the listener and pool tls_ciphers field for control characters. The value is written verbatim into the HAProxy configuration generated on the amphora, and thus an authenticated project member who owns a TLS-enabled load balancer can embed a newline and inject arbitrary HAProxy configuration directives. Only deployments using the Amphora provider are affected.

  • Sep 21, 2026In OpenStack Octavia before 18.0.1, the Amphora provider driver did not reject control characters in the L7 policy redirect_url and redirect_prefix fields.CVE-2026-94571 · Other software · OpenStack · reported by MITRECritical 9.4

In OpenStack Octavia before 18.0.1, the Amphora provider driver did not reject control characters in the L7 policy redirect_url and redirect_prefix fields. The RFC 3986 URL validator percent-encodes control characters before validating, and thus newlines passed structural checks, but Octavia stored and wrote the raw unencoded value directly into the HAProxy configuration generated on the amphora. An authenticated project member who owns a load balancer can therefore inject arbitrary HAProxy directives through a REDIRECT_TO_URL L7 policy. Only deployments using the Amphora provider are affected.

  • Sep 21, 2026The experimental USB host stack allocates a per-device configuration-descriptor buffer, udev->cfg_desc, from the dedicated usb_device_heap in usbh_device_set_coCVE-2026-17050 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 5.7

The experimental USB host stack allocates a per-device configuration-descriptor buffer, udev->cfg_desc, from the dedicated usb_device_heap in usbh_device_set_configuration() (subsys/usb/host/usbh_device.c). On three failure paths — a failed full-length GET_DESCRIPTOR(CONFIGURATION) read, a mismatch between the short and full descriptor reads, and a rejected descriptor in parse_configuration_descriptor() — the buffer was released with k_heap_free() but the pointer was left dangling. The cleanup in usbh_device_free() is guarded only by if (udev->cfg_desc != NULL), so it frees the same block a second time. The path is driven entirely by the attached peripheral: usbh_device_connect() calls usbh_device_init(), which ends in usbh_device_set_configuration(), and on failure usbh_device_connect() calls usbh_device_free(). On v4.4.x this happens during the same enumeration, with no unplug required; on v4.1.0–v4.3.x the second free instead arrives via dev_removed_handler()/dev_connected_handler() in subsys/usb/host/usbh_core.c, so it requires a removal or duplicate-connect event after the failed enumeration — a sequence the attached device fully controls. • Sep 21, 2026A stack-based buffer overflow flaw was found in fetchmail when built with NTLM support.CVE-2026-94184 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.3

A stack-based buffer overflow flaw was found in fetchmail when built with NTLM support. A malicious or compromised mail server advertising NTLM authentication can send a crafted Type 2 challenge that causes fetchmail to write past a fixed stack buffer while building the NTLM authenticate response. This may lead to remote code execution depending on stack-frame layout, or to authentication failure or process termination under memory hardening.

  • Sep 18, 2026In OpenStack Blazar before 17.0.1, the V2 lease API does not enforce object-level authorization on its update and delete operations (PUT /v2/leases/{lease_id} aCVE-2026-93854 · Other software · OpenStack · reported by MITREHigh 7.2

In OpenStack Blazar before 17.0.1, the V2 lease API does not enforce object-level authorization on its update and delete operations (PUT /v2/leases/{lease_id} and DELETE /v2/leases/{lease_id}). The policy authorize() wrapper attempts to load the target lease to build the authorization target from its owner, but it looks up the lease under the keyword "lease_id" whereas the controller methods name the parameter "id" (and the wsme_pecan.wsexpose wrapper delivers it positionally). The lookup returns None, and thus authorization falls back to the requesting user's own project_id/user_id instead of the target lease owner. Any authenticated user who knows a lease ID can therefore modify or delete leases belonging to other users and projects, bypassing the intended ownership check.

In OpenStack Blazar before 17.0.1, the V2 lease listing operation (GET /v2/leases) returns leases for every project without enforcing project scoping or an administrator-only policy. Any authenticated user with access to the Blazar REST API can enumerate leases belonging to other tenants, exposing lease IDs, reservation IDs, resource IDs, and reservation metadata. The exposed lease IDs also enable the object-level authorization bypass tracked in the companion request, allowing an attacker to then modify or delete the enumerated leases.

  • Sep 18, 2026A flaw was found in Netty's HTTP/2 stack.CVE-2026-93579 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 6.5

A flaw was found in Netty's HTTP/2 stack. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to inject prohibited characters, such as NUL, Line Feed, and Carriage Return, into HTTP/2 header field values due to insufficient validation. When these values cross an HTTP/2 to HTTP/1.1 translation boundary, they can be exploited for request smuggling, header injection, or response splitting. This could lead to unauthorized access, data manipulation, or other security bypasses.

  • Sep 18, 2026ToolHive is a utility designed to simplify the deployment and management of Model Context Protocol servers.CVE-2026-58197 · Other software · stacklok · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

ToolHive is a utility designed to simplify the deployment and management of Model Context Protocol servers. Prior to ToolHive CLI 0.30.1 and ToolHive Studio 0.38.0, locally run MCP server containers use the default network permission profile without network isolation, permitting access to host.docker.internal while ToolHive API and MCP proxy endpoints are reachable without authentication. A malicious or compromised MCP server can use the Docker gateway to contact host-local services, other ToolHive-managed MCP proxies, or the ToolHive control plane without escaping the container. This access can expose data and logs, invoke sibling MCP tools, alter process or workload state, and disrupt services. ToolHive Studio additionally sends network_isolation as false and overrides the backend's secure isolation default. This issue is fixed in ToolHive CLI 0.30.1 and ToolHive Studio 0.38.0.
