Laravel Socialite's Facebook provider contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to replay captured OIDC id_tokens by exploiting the missing nonce claim validation in the getUserByOIDCToken() function within FacebookProvider.php. Attackers who obtain a valid, unexpired id_token issued for the same Facebook App ID can submit the captured token to the backend userFromToken() endpoint, bypassing authentication controls because signature, aud, and iss checks pass while no session-bound nonce comparison is performed, resulting in unauthorized access to victim accounts.

  • Aug 11, 2026Social Login, Passkeys, Magic Link & Email OTP – Passwordless Login by VentraConnect: Authentication BypassCVE-2026-18961 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.1

The Social Login, Passkeys, Magic Link & Email OTP – Passwordless Login by VentraConnect plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authentication Bypass via Unverified Provider Email in all versions up to, and including, 1.4.3. This is due to the plugin trusting the unverified email field returned by Spotify's /v1/me endpoint as proof of mailbox ownership — Generic::normalize_common() copies this value into the normalized profile without requiring an email_verified assertion, and User_Links::link_or_login_user() subsequently passes it directly to get_user_by('email', $email) and issues a persistent authentication cookie via wp_set_auth_cookie() without a provider-specific verified-email gate, a local mailbox challenge, or a logged-in approval step. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to log in as any existing WordPress user, including Administrators, by supplying a known target email address through a controlled Spotify OAuth flow, gaining full administrative access to the site.

  • Aug 10, 2026Mastodon is a free, open-source social network server based on ActivityPub.CVE-2026-72916 · Other software · mastodon · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Mastodon is a free, open-source social network server based on ActivityPub. Prior to 4.4.21, 4.5.14, 4.6.4, and 4.7.0-beta.1, PrivateAddressCheck.private_address? in app/lib/private_address_check.rb normalized IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses but did not recognize IPv4-compatible IPv6 addresses with IPAddr#ipv4_compat?. An attacker could supply an address in the omitted range to bypass the ALLOWED_PRIVATE_ADDRESSES protection and make Mastodon send HTTP requests to loopback interfaces, potentially accessing private resources and services. Exploitation requires a system that supports the obsolete IPv4-compatible IPv6 mechanism. This issue is fixed in versions 4.4.21, 4.5.14, 4.6.4, and 4.7.0-beta.1.

From 4.6.0-beta.1 until 4.6.4 and 4.7.0-beta.1, any logged-in local user could use the show action in app/controllers/admin/collections_controller.rb to access personally identifying information about another local user in a collection because the controller used the general collection policy instead of the admin collection policy namespace. • Aug 7, 2026Postiz is an open-source social media scheduling tool.CVE-2026-19264 · Other software · gitroomhq · reported by 4cdc9741-f887-419a-a2fd-acbbd2729276Critical 9.3

Postiz is an open-source social media scheduling tool. The route that serves locally stored media joins URL-supplied path segments onto the upload directory and streams the file without normalising the path or confining it to that directory, and the route requires no authentication. Raw dot-segments are collapsed before routing, but URL-encoded separators survive route matching and are decoded only once they reach the handler, restoring the traversal at the filesystem call. An unauthenticated remote attacker can therefore read any file readable by the application process, including the process environment, which exposes the JWT signing secret, the database connection string, and connected provider and billing secrets. Because session tokens are signed with that secret and carry no expiry, this allows forging a non-expiring session as any user, including an administrator, without a password.

Misskey is an open source, federated social media platform. Versions 12.37.0 and later, but prior to 2026.5.4, are vulnerable to timing attacks during JSON-LD signature validation and the compaction process. Because the JSON-LD parsing context is not shared between signature verification and subsequent processing, the application may trust information that should not be trusted, resulting in a time-of-check to time-of-use (TOCTOU) flaw. The WooCommerce - Social Login plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authentication Bypass in all versions up to and including 2.8.7. This is due to the plugin's Apple login handler accepting the Apple id_token and decoding only its base64 payload without verifying the JWT signature against Apple's public keys or validating the issuer, audience, or expiry claims, combined with the security nonce required to invoke the login flow being publicly exposed to unauthenticated users via a localized JavaScript object on the login page. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to log in as any existing WordPress user — including administrators — by supplying a forged id_token whose payload contains the target user's email address, as that email is used without any role exclusion to resolve a WordPress account and immediately issue an authenticated session for it.

The Social Login, Passkeys, Magic Link & Email OTP WordPress plugin before 1.4.1 does not enforce rate limiting or a working attempt lockout on its passwordless email one-time-password verification, and stores the short numeric codes in plaintext, allowing an unauthenticated attacker who knows a registered email address to brute-force the code and log in as that user, including an administrator, leading to full site takeover.

  • Jul 10, 2026Misskey is an open source, federated social media platform.CVE-2026-57575 · Other software · misskey-dev · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

Misskey is an open source, federated social media platform. Prior to 2026.6.0, Misskey contains a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in URL preview functionality in UrlPreviewService. Due to missing network restrictions before establishing outbound connections, a remote attacker can cause the Misskey server to initiate HTTP requests to loopback, private, or link-local services. Because IP address validation takes place after the request has been sent and the process is subsequently rejected, no sensitive internal data is believed to be transmitted back or exposed to the attacker. This issue is fixed in version 2026.6.0.

Misskey is an open source, federated social media platform. Prior to 2026.6.0, Misskey contains a vulnerability in Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) authentication in UserAuthService where insufficient validation of used tokens allows the reuse of a single-use code within its valid time step. • Jul 10, 2026miniOrange Social Login and Register (Discord, Google, Twitter, LinkedIn): Authentication bypass leading to account takeoverCVE-2026-12761 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8

The miniOrange Social Login and Register (Discord, Google, Twitter, LinkedIn) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authentication bypass leading to account takeover in versions up to and including 7.7.0. This is due to the Profile Completion flow accepting an arbitrary email address via the 'email_field' POST parameter without verifying that the email belongs to the identity returned by the OAuth provider, combined with send_otp_token() returning the SHA-512(customer_key || otp) transaction hash to the client where the OTP space is only 99,000 values (wp_rand(1000, 99999)) and the customer_key is a static option (empty on unregistered installs). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to trigger an OTP email to an arbitrary admin's address, crack the OTP offline from the leaked hash in under a second, and submit the cracked OTP to mo_openid_social_login_validate_otp(), which logs the attacker in as the user whose email was supplied — granting full administrator access.

  • Jun 24, 2026Mastodon is a free, open-source social network server based on ActivityPub.CVE-2026-50128 · Other software · mastodon · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

Mastodon is a free, open-source social network server based on ActivityPub. From 4.3.0 until 4.5.11 and 4.4.18, Mastodon has a feature to let websites credit authors of their articles. To prevent false attribution claims, Mastodon uses the attributionDomains JSON-LD term, however, an error in how it is defined makes Linked Data Signatures on the toot:attributionDomains property ineffective. An attacker can arbitrarily modify the attributionDomains value of a legitimately signed Update activity and bypass Mastodon’s signature verification. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.5.11 and 4.4.18.
