  • Jun 26, 2026Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor.CVE-2026-52885 · Other software · notepad-plus-plus · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

    Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. Prior to 8.9.6.4, NppCommands.cpp checks the HMAC of the on-disk shortcuts.xml at the moment a user command fires (Time-of-Check). However, the command payload is taken from the in-memory _userCommands vector, which is populated at application startup and never re-synchronized with the on-disk file (Time-of-Use). Swapping shortcuts.xml between startup and command execution causes the HMAC check to validate a clean file while a malicious command runs. An attacker with write access to shortcuts.xml places a malicious version on disk before launch, then immediately restores the legitimate file. The HMAC check at execution time validates the restored legitimate file (check passes), while the malicious payload executes from memory. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.9.6.4.

  • Jun 26, 2026Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor.CVE-2026-52884 · Other software · notepad-plus-plus · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

    Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. In v8.9.6.1, isInTrustedDirectory() does NOT canonicalize the path before checking. It uses a prefix-based check (PathIsPrefix() or equivalent) that matches paths starting with trusted directory strings. A path traversal using ..\..\ after a trusted directory prefix passes the check while resolving to an untrusted location. The CVE-2026-48800 patch adds isInTrustedDirectory() validation in Command::run() (RunDlg.cpp) before calling ShellExecute(). This function checks whether the resolved executable path is under a trusted directory. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.9.6.2.

  • Jun 26, 2026Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor.CVE-2026-48800 · Other software · notepad-plus-plus · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

    Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. Prior to 8.9.6.1, the <Command> tag text content inside <UserDefinedCommands> in shortcuts.xml is read by NppXml::value(aNode) (Parameters.cpp:3658) in the feedUserCmds() function and stored in UserCommand._cmd without any validation. When the user clicks the corresponding entry in the Run menu, NppCommands.cpp:4264 creates a Command object with string2wstring(ucmd.getCmd()) and calls run(), which invokes ShellExecute (RunDlg.cpp:221) with the attacker-controlled string as the executable path. The injected command appears as a normal menu item in the Run menu, making it a viable persistence mechanism. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.9.6.1.

    Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. Prior to 8.9.6.1, the <GUIConfig name="commandLineInterpreter"> tag in config.xml is read by NppXml::value() (Parameters.cpp:6430) and stored in _nppGUI._commandLineInterpreter without any validation, whitelist, or digital signature check. When the user triggers IDM_FILE_OPEN_CMD (File → Open Containing Folder → cmd), NppCommands.cpp:228 creates a Command object with this value and calls run(), which invokes ShellExecute (RunDlg.cpp:221) with the attacker-controlled string as the executable path. Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. Prior to 8.9.6.1, a local process in the same interactive Windows session can send a malformed WM_COPYDATA message to Notepad++ using the COPYDATA_FULL_CMDLINE path. Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. From 8.9.4 until 8.9.6, Notepad++ contains a local privilege escalation vulnerability in the installer. During installation, the installer invokes powershell.exe without using an absolute path after setting the working directory to the installation contextMenu directory. If an attacker can pre-place a malicious powershell.exe in a user-writable custom installation directory, and a privileged user later runs the installer and selects that directory, the attacker-controlled executable is launched with the elevated privileges of the installer. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.9.6.

  • Jun 24, 2026SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system.CVE-2026-55570 · Other software · siyuan-note · reported by GitHubCritical 9

    SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, it does not escape the untrusted fields (name, version, author, description) when they are serialized into the data-obj HTML attribute of each marketplace card. Because the attribute is single-quoted and the value is produced with JSON.stringify() (which does not escape ', <, or >), a package whose name contains a single quote breaks out of the attribute and injects arbitrary HTML. In the desktop client the main BrowserWindow runs with nodeIntegration: true, contextIsolation: false, so the injected markup escalates from DOM XSS to arbitrary OS command execution. This is the same root cause and same impact as the original advisory, reached through a sibling sink the patch did not cover. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.7.0.

    SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, Lute's HTML sanitizer does not remove <iframe> elements. Combined with the SiYuan Electron client's permissive security configuration, an attacker can include a malicious <iframe> in a Bazaar package README that executes arbitrary commands on the victim's machine when the package details are viewed. • Jun 24, 2026SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system.CVE-2026-54158 · Other software · siyuan-note · reported by GitHubCritical 9.9

    SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, the attribute-view (database) cell renderer genAVValueHTML interpolates cell content raw in four of its branches: text, url, phone, and mAsset. A cell value like </textarea><img src=x onerror="..."> or "><img src=x onerror="..."> breaks out of its surrounding tag and runs arbitrary JavaScript in the renderer when the victim opens the block-attribute panel. On Electron desktop the renderer runs with nodeIntegration:true, so the XSS chains to host RCE via require('child_process'). AV files live under the workspace and ride normal sync, so an attacker with write access to any synced workspace plants the payload once and it fires on every device that opens a panel containing that row.he kernel doesn't escape on the way in either, so the malicious cell persists byte-for-byte. There's no equivalent of the html.EscapeAttrVal call that protects block IAL attributes at kernel/model/blockial.go:261. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.7.0.

  • Jun 24, 2026SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system.CVE-2026-54070 · Other software · siyuan-note · reported by GitHubHigh 7.1

    SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, renderPackageREADME in kernel/bazaar/readme.go renders a Bazaar package README from Markdown to HTML with the lute engine and SetSanitize(true). The lute sanitizer is an event-handler blocklist: allowAttr rejects only attribute names present in a fixed eventAttrs map copied from the w3schools legacy handler list. That map omits modern event handlers. onpointerover, onpointerdown, onauxclick, onbeforetoggle, onfocusin, onanimationstart, and ontransitionend are not in the list, so the sanitizer passes them through verbatim on any tag. The frontend assigns the rendered HTML to mdElement.innerHTML in app/src/config/bazaar.ts with no client-side DOMPurify on this path, into a normal element in the main document (no iframe, no sandbox). The kernel sends no Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, or X-Content-Type-Options header on any response, so an inline handler runs when its event fires. The README is rendered when an Administrator opens a package in Settings → Marketplace, after the one-time marketplace trust consent. Install is not required. Result: a third-party Bazaar package author runs JavaScript i

    SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, SiYuan Note's kernel HTTP server unconditionally trusts all chrome-extension:// origins, granting RoleAdministrator access to every installed browser extension without any authentication. Combined with the default empty AccessAuthCode on desktop installs, any Chrome/Chromium extension -- including a compromised legitimate extension via supply chain attack -- can make fully authenticated admin API calls to the SiYuan kernel at 127.0.0.1:6806, enabling data exfiltration, stored XSS injection, and configuration tampering. • Jun 24, 2026SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system.CVE-2026-54068 · Other software · siyuan-note · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9

    SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, the /api/icon/getDynamicIcon endpoint is explicitly excluded from authentication in SiYuan's kernel router (router.go, "不需要鉴权" -- no auth needed). When called with type=8 and a valid block id parameter, this endpoint invokes RenderDynamicIconContentTemplate, which executes a Go template that includes the querySQL and queryBlocks functions. These functions run arbitrary SELECT statements against the SiYuan SQLite database. An unauthenticated network-adjacent attacker who knows a valid block ID can exfiltrate all user note content, tags, asset references, and block attributes from the database. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.7.0.

  • Jun 24, 2026SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system.CVE-2026-54067 · Other software · siyuan-note · reported by GitHubCritical 9.9

    SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, CSS snippet body containing </style> breaks out of its surrounding <style> tag when renderSnippet() interpolates it via insertAdjacentHTML. A payload like runs arbitrary JavaScript in the renderer. On Electron desktop builds the renderer runs with nodeIntegration:true, so require('child_process') is reachable from the injected handler and the XSS chains to host RCE. Snippets sync via the workspace repository, so an attacker with write access to any synced workspace plants the payload once and it fires on every device that pulls. The bug also bypasses the user's enabledCSS / enabledJS separation. A user who turned enabledJS off was making a deliberate call not to run untrusted JavaScript; the CSS path runs it anyway. The jQuery Hover Footnotes plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Footnote Qualifier ('{{...}}' Syntax) in all versions up to, and including, 1.4 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The attribute-breakout payload (e.g., a double-quote followed by an event handler) contains no angle brackets and therefore bypasses WordPress core's wp_kses_post() filtering, which only strips disallowed HTML tags rather than sanitizing attribute contexts.

    The jQuery Hover Footnotes plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 1.4. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the jqFootnotes_options_subpanel function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update the plugin's settings with arbitrary values that, because option values such as jqfoot_anchor_open, jqfoot_anchor_close, and jqfoot_title are echoed unescaped into frontend page content, can be chained into persistent Cross-Site Scripting affecting all site visitors via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. Successful exploitation of the CSRF vulnerability can be chained into stored Cross-Site Scripting, as the overwritten option values are persisted via update_option() without sanitization and rendered unescaped on the frontend.

    The Frontend User Notes plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 2.1.1. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the funp_ajax_modify_notes function. Due to ownership enforcement comparing the note's stored _funp_single_user_id meta against the current session's user ID, the attack is limited to modifying only notes belonging to the tricked victim, and cannot be used to alter notes owned by arbitrary third-party users.

    JupyterHub is software that allows users to create a multi-user server for Jupyter notebooks. In versions 4.1.0 through 5.4.4, XSRF protection (updated in 4.1.0) inappropriately treated requests with Sec-Fetch-Mode: no-cors as same-origin requests, bypassing XSRF checks. The JSON API is not affected, only HTTP form endpoints, such as /hub/spawn and /hub/accept-share, meaning attackers could trigger server spawn (but not access the server) and if the attacker is a JupyterHub user permitted to share access to their server, cause a user to accept a share and have access to the attacker's server. Trilium Notes is a cross-platform, hierarchical note taking application focused on building large personal knowledge bases. Versions 0.102.1 and prior contain a critical security flaw where lack of SVG sanitization combined with a disabled Content Security Policy (CSP) and a publicly reachable backend execution API results in an unauthenticated Remote Code Execution (RCE). The vulnerability arises from an insecure-by-design architecture: Trilium serves SVG attachments with the image/svg+xml MIME type without any sanitization, and it explicitly disables Helmet's Content Security Policy middleware, removing the primary defense against script execution in served assets. Because the malicious SVG runs under the Same-Origin Policy, it can issue a fetch('/') to extract the csrfToken from the document body. With that token, it can send a signed request to /api/script/exec to execute arbitrary Node.js code on the server. An attacker can compromise the entire server instance simply by tricking an authenticated user into viewing a shared SVG attachment. The issue has been fixed in version 0.102.2.

  • May 20, 2026Trilium Notes is a cross-platform, hierarchical note taking application focused on building large personal knowledge bases.CVE-2026-39310 · Other software · TriliumNext · reported by GitHubHigh 8.6

    Trilium Notes is a cross-platform, hierarchical note taking application focused on building large personal knowledge bases. In versions 0.102.1 and prior, the Clipper API in Trilium Desktop (v0.101.3) allows full authentication bypass when running in an Electron environment. When Trilium detects an Electron environment, it explicitly disables authentication middleware for the Clipper API, exposing endpoints such as /api/clipper/notes to the network with no password, API token, or CSRF protection. An attacker on a shared network (for example, a corporate LAN or public Wi-Fi) can scan for open high-range ports using a tool like nmap, since Trilium often binds to ports such as 37840. Once a candidate port is found, an unauthenticated request to the Clipper handshake endpoint, which also bypasses authentication, confirms a Trilium instance by returning the application name and protocol version. This facilitates unauthorized data access, phishing, and local system compromise. The issue has been fixed in version 0.102.2.

  • May 19, 2026Trilium Notes is a cross-platform, hierarchical note taking application focused on building large personal knowledge bases.CVE-2026-39309 · Other software · TriliumNext · reported by GitHubMedium 5.5

    Trilium Notes is a cross-platform, hierarchical note taking application focused on building large personal knowledge bases. In versions 0.102.1 and prior, the Electron configuration is vulnerable to TCC Bypass via Prompt Spoofing, allowing local attackers to trigger misleading macOS permission prompts by running malicious code under the identity of the trusted app. The root cause is that the RunAsNode fuse allows launching the app in a special Node.js mode using -e to execute arbitrary system commands with Trilium Notes's permissions and identity. An attacker can leverage this through a subprocess to request any sensitive permissions, such as access to hardware (camera, microphone) and TCC-protected files, causing the TCC system prompt to appear as if the request came from Trilium rather than the attacker's code, because macOS treats the subprocess as part of the parent application. Exploitation allows access to TCC-protected resources like the screen, camera, microphone, and folders such as ~/Documents and ~/Downloads, undermining macOS's security model and UI integrity through social engineering. This issue has been fixed in version 0.102.2.

  • May 19, 2026Trilium Notes is an open-source, cross-platform hierarchical note taking application for building large personal knowledge bases.CVE-2026-35593 · Other software · TriliumNext · reported by GitHubMedium 6.8

    Trilium Notes is an open-source, cross-platform hierarchical note taking application for building large personal knowledge bases. Versions 0.102.1 and prior are vulnerable to Local File Inclusion, allowing an authenticated attacker to read sensitive arbitrary files from the server's filesystem. The uploadModifiedFileToAttachment function, which is called when a POST request is received to /api/attachments/{attachmentId}/upload-modified-file, replaces the content of the attachment with the content from another file (whose path is provided in filePath of Request body). After which the content of the attachment can be viewed at /api/attachments/{attachmentId}/download. This exposes sensitive system files such as SSH keys, credentials, configs, and OS files, potentially leading to remote code execution and compromise of co-hosted applications. This issue has been fixed in version 0.102.2.

    Joplin is an open source note-taking and to-do application that organises notes and lists into notebooks. Versions 3.5.2 and prior contain a logic error in the delta API that allows share recipients to download notes that are no longer shared with them, related to but not fully fixed by the prior patch in #14289. In ChangeModel.delta, when DELTA_INCLUDES_ITEMS is enabled (the default), the latest state of items is attached to delta output without verifying that those items are still shared with the requesting user, and the existing removal logic only filters items deleted for all users. Additionally, the change compression logic incorrectly reduces create - delete to NOOP, which is unsafe because compression is applied per page and an item can have multiple create events; if an earlier create falls on a separate page from a later create -> delete pair, the deletion is dropped and the sequence collapses to a create. As a result, the delta API returns a create event for a deleted item with the full latest content attached, exposing notes the user no longer has access to. This issue has been fixed in version 3.5.3.

    Joplin is an open source note-taking and to-do application that organises notes and lists into notebooks. Versions 3.6.14 and prior contain a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability in the title input functionality due to a lack of proper length validation. This flaw allows an attacker to cause an Out Of Memory (OOM) error and subsequent program termination by inserting an excessively long string into a note's title. This can be triggered either through direct user interface (UI) input or programmatically via the local web service API after compromising an authentication token. There are 2 primary methods of exploitation: via User Interface (UI) Input, and the Local Web Service API. A local user can directly type or paste an extremely long string into the title field when creating or editing a note Joplin runs a local web service (typically on port 41184) that allows programmatic interaction, such as creating or editing notes via HTTP API calls. If an attacker manages to exfiltrate or compromise the user's authentication token (e.g., through malware on the local system, or other local vulnerabilities), they can then send a crafted HTTP POST request to this local API. Joplin is an open source note-taking and to-do application that organises notes and lists into notebooks. Versions prior to 3.5.7 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the importer which allows overwriting arbitrary files on disk. The OneNote converter does not sanitize the names of embedded files before writing them to disk. As a result, it's possible for an attacker to create a malicious .one file that includes file names containing ../../, that are then interpreted as part of the target path when extracting attachments from the .one file. This issue has been patched in version 3.5.7.

  • May 14, 2026SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system.CVE-2026-45375 · Other software · siyuan-note · reported by GitHubCritical 9

    SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, SiYuan's Bazaar (community marketplace) renders the name and version fields of a package's plugin.json (and the equivalent theme.json / template.json / widget.json / icon.json) into the Settings → Marketplace UI without HTML escaping. The kernel-side helper sanitizePackageDisplayStrings in kernel/bazaar/package.go HTML-escapes only Author, DisplayName, and Description — Name and Version flow through to the renderer raw. The frontend at app/src/config/bazaar.ts substitutes them into HTML template strings via ${item.preferredName} / ${data.name} / v${data.version} and assigns the result to innerHTML. As a consequence, malicious HTML in either field is parsed and executed when a user opens the marketplace tab. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.7.0.
