  • Dec 24, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/panthor: Prevent potential UAF in group creation This commit prevents the possibility CVE-2025-68735 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/panthor: Prevent potential UAF in group creation This commit prevents the possibility of a use after free issue in the GROUP_CREATE ioctl function, which arose as pointer to the group is accessed in that ioctl function after storing it in the Xarray. A malicious userspace can second guess the handle of a group and try to call GROUP_DESTROY ioctl from another thread around the same time as GROUP_CREATE ioctl. To prevent the use after free exploit, this commit uses a mark on an entry of group pool Xarray which is added just before returning from the GROUP_CREATE ioctl function. The mark is checked for all ioctls that specify the group handle and so userspace won't be abe to delete a group that isn't marked yet. v2: Add R-bs and fixes tags

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usbnet: Prevents free active kevent The root cause of this issue are: 1. When probing the usbnet device, executing usbnet_link_change(dev, 0, 0); put the kevent work in global workqueue. However, the kevent has not yet been scheduled when the usbnet device is unregistered. Therefore, executing free_netdev() results in the "free active object (kevent)" error reported here. 2. Another factor is that when calling usbnet_disconnect()->unregister_netdev(), if the usbnet device is up, ndo_stop() is executed to cancel the kevent. However, because the device is not up, ndo_stop() is not executed. The solution to this problem is to cancel the kevent before executing free_netdev().

  • Dec 4, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: cdev: make sure the cdev fd is still active before emitting events With the final caCVE-2025-40249 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: cdev: make sure the cdev fd is still active before emitting events With the final call to fput() on a file descriptor, the release action may be deferred and scheduled on a work queue. The reference count of that descriptor is still zero and it must not be used. It's possible that a GPIO change, we want to notify the user-space about, happens AFTER the reference count on the file descriptor associated with the character device went down to zero but BEFORE the .release() callback was called from the workqueue and so BEFORE we unregistered from the notifier. Using the regular get_file() routine in this situation triggers the following warning: struct file::f_count incremented from zero; use-after-free condition present! So use the get_file_active() variant that will return NULL on file descriptors that have been or are being released.

  • Nov 12, 2025The Datadog Agent collects events and metrics from hosts and sends them to Datadog.CVE-2025-61667 · Other software · DataDog · reported by GitHubHigh 7

The Datadog Agent collects events and metrics from hosts and sends them to Datadog. A vulnerability within the Datadog Linux Host Agent versions 7.65.0 through 7.70.2 exists due to insufficient permissions being set on the `opt/datadog-agent/python-scripts/__pycache__` directory during installation. Code in this directory is only run by the Agent during Agent install/upgrades. This could allow an attacker with local access to modify files in this directory, which would then subsequently be run when the Agent is upgraded, resulting in local privilege escalation. This issue requires local access to the host and a valid low privilege account to be vulnerable. Note that this vulnerability only impacts the Linux Host Agent. Other variations of the Agent including the container, kubernetes, windows host and other agents are not impacted. Version 7.71.0 contains a patch for the issue.

  • Nov 12, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/events: Return -EEXIST for bound VIRQs Change find_virq() to return -EEXIST when a VIRCVE-2025-40160 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/events: Return -EEXIST for bound VIRQs Change find_virq() to return -EEXIST when a VIRQ is bound to a different CPU than the one passed in. With that, remove the BUG_ON() from bind_virq_to_irq() to propogate the error upwards. Some VIRQs are per-cpu, but others are per-domain or global. Those must be bound to CPU0 and can then migrate elsewhere. The lookup for per-domain and global will probably fail when migrated off CPU 0, especially when the current CPU is tracked. This now returns -EEXIST instead of BUG_ON(). A second call to bind a per-domain or global VIRQ is not expected, but make it non-fatal to avoid trying to look up the irq, since we don't know which per_cpu(virq_to_irq) it will be in.

PureVPN client applications on Linux through September 2025 allow IPv6 traffic to leak outside the VPN tunnel upon network events such as Wi-Fi reconnect or system resume. In the CLI client, the VPN auto-reconnects and claims to be connected, but IPv6 traffic is no longer routed or blocked. In the GUI client, the IPv6 connection remains functional after disconnection until the user clicks Reconnect. In both cases, the real IPv6 address is exposed to external services, violating user privacy and defeating the advertised IPv6 leak protection. This affects CLI 2.0.1 and GUI 2.10.0.

However when the interrupts trigger the bridge might not have been attached to a DRM device. As drm_helper_hpd_irq_event() does not check whether the passed in drm_device is valid or not, a NULL pointer passed in results in a kernel NULL pointer dereference in it. Check whether the bridge is attached and only trigger an HPD event if it is.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf: Avoid undefined behavior from stopping/starting inactive events Calling pmu->start()/stop() on perf events in PERF_EVENT_STATE_OFF can leave event->hw.idx at -1. When PMU drivers later attempt to use this negative index as a shift exponent in bitwise operations, it leads to UBSAN shift-out-of-bounds reports. The issue is a logical flaw in how event groups handle throttling when some members are intentionally disabled. Based on the analysis and the reproducer provided by Mark Rutland (this issue on both arm64 and x86-64). The scenario unfolds as follows: 1. A group leader event is configured with a very aggressive sampling period (e.g., sample_period = 1). This causes frequent interrupts and triggers the throttling mechanism. 2. A child event in the same group is created in a disabled state (.disabled = 1). This event remains in PERF_EVENT_STATE_OFF. Since it hasn't been scheduled onto the PMU, its event->hw.idx remains initialized at -1. 3. When throttling occurs, perf_event_throttle_group() and later perf_event_unthrottle_group() iterate through all siblings, including the

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix reading strings from synthetic events The follow commands caused a crash: # cd /sys/kernel/tracing # echo 's:open char file[]' > dynamic_events # echo 'hist:keys=common_pid:file=filename:onchange($file).trace(open,$file)' > events/syscalls/sys_enter_openat/trigger' # echo 1 > events/synthetic/open/enable BOOM! The problem is that the synthetic event field "char file[]" will read the value given to it as a string without any memory checks to make sure the address is valid. The above example will pass in the user space address and the sythetic event code will happily call strlen() on it and then strscpy() where either one will cause an oops when accessing user space addresses. Use the helper functions from trace_kprobe and trace_eprobe that can read strings safely (and actually succeed when the address is from user space and the memory is mapped in). Now the above can show: packagekitd-1721 [000] ...2. 104.597170: open: file=/usr/lib/rpm/fileattrs/cmake.attr in:imjournal-978 [006] ...2. 104.599642: open: file=/var/lib/rsyslog/imjournal.state.tmp packagekitd-1721

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bus: mhi: host: Detect events pointing to unexpected TREs When a remote device sends a completion event to the host, it contains a pointer to the consumed TRE. The host uses this pointer to process all of the TREs between it and the host's local copy of the ring's read pointer. This works when processing completion for chained transactions, but can lead to nasty results if the device sends an event for a single-element transaction with a read pointer that is multiple elements ahead of the host's read pointer. For instance, if the host accesses an event ring while the device is updating it, the pointer inside of the event might still point to an old TRE. If the host uses the channel's xfer_cb() to directly free the buffer pointed to by the TRE, the buffer will be double-freed. This behavior was observed on an ep that used upstream EP stack without 'commit 6f18d174b73d ("bus: mhi: ep: Update read pointer only after buffer is written")'. Where the device updated the events ring pointer before updating the event contents, so it left a window where the host was able to access the stale data the event pointed to, bef
