Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binder: fix UAF in binder_thread_release() When a thread exits, binder_thread_release() waCVE-2026-64469 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binder: fix UAF in binder_thread_release() When a thread exits, binder_thread_release() walks its transaction stack to clear the t->from and t->to_proc that correspond with the exiting thread. However, a process dying in parallel might attempt to kfree some of these transactions. And if one of them has no associated t->to_proc, the t->to_proc->inner_lock will not be acquired. This means that transaction accesses in binder_thread_release() after t->to_proc has been cleared might race with binder_free_transaction() and cause a use-after-free error as reported by KASAN: ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in binder_thread_release+0x5d0/0x798 Write of size 8 at addr ffff000016627500 by task X/715 CPU: 17 UID: 0 PID: 715 Comm: X Not tainted 7.1.0-rc5-00149-g8fde5d1d47f6 #30 PREEMPT Hardware name: linux,dummy-virt (DT) Call trace: binder_thread_release+0x5d0/0x798 binder_ioctl+0x12c0/0x299c [...] Allocated by task 717 on cpu 18 at 67.267803s: __kasan_kmalloc+0xa0/0xbc __kmalloc_cache_noprof+0x174/0x444 binder_transaction+

Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rust_binder: use a u64 stride when cleaning up the offsets array Allocation's Drop walks tCVE-2026-64467 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rust_binder: use a u64 stride when cleaning up the offsets array Allocation's Drop walks the offsets array (binder_size_t = u64 entries), cleaning up the objects, but it used usize instead of u64 for both the stride and the per-entry read. On 64-bit kernels (usize == u64) this is harmless, but on 32-bit kernels it walks the 8-byte entries in 4-byte steps, iterating an N-entry array 2N times, and reads the always-zero high word as offset 0, cleaning up the object at offset 0 N extra times. As a result the referenced node or handle ends up with a lower reference count than it actually has (a refcount over-decrement), and binder's reference accounting is corrupted; for example, the owner can be notified of a strong reference release (BR_RELEASE) even though references still remain. Change the stride to u64, and read each entry as a u64, narrowing it to usize with try_into(). On 32-bit ARM, when this over-decrement would drive a count below zero, the driver's existing refcount guard refuses it and fires: rust_binder: Failure: refcount underflow!

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rust_binder: clear freeze listener on node removal Generally userspace is supposed to explicitly clear freeze listeners before they drop the refcount on the node ref to zero, but there's nothing forcing that. Currently, in this scenario the freeze listener remains in the freeze_listeners rbtree and in the remote node's freeze listener list, even though the ref for which the listener is registered is gone. This could potentially lead to a memory leak due to a refcount cycle. Thus, remove the freeze listener in this scenario.

Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: letsketch: fix UAF on inrange_timer at driver unbind letsketch_driver does not providCVE-2026-64365 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: letsketch: fix UAF on inrange_timer at driver unbind letsketch_driver does not provide a .remove callback, but letsketch_probe() arms a per-device timer: timer_setup(&data->inrange_timer, letsketch_inrange_timeout, 0); The timer is re-armed from letsketch_raw_event() with a 100 ms timeout on every pen-in-range report, and its callback dereferences data->input_tablet to deliver a synthetic BTN_TOOL_PEN release. letsketch_data is allocated with devm_kzalloc(), and its input_dev fields are devm-allocated via letsketch_setup_input_tablet(). On device unbind (USB unplug or rmmod), the HID core runs its default teardown and devm cleanup frees both letsketch_data and the input devices. Because no .remove callback exists, nothing drains the timer first: if raw_event armed it within ~100 ms of the unbind, the pending timer fires on freed memory. This is a UAF read of data and of data->input_tablet, followed by input_report_key() / input_sync() into the freed input_dev. The same problem can occur on the probe error path: if hid_hw_start() enabled I/O on an always-poll-quirk device and then failed, raw_event

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: guest_memfd: Treat memslot binding offset+size as unsigned values When binding a memslot to a guest_memfd file, treat the offset and size as unsigned values to fix a bug where the sum of the two can result in a false negative when checking for overflow against the size of the file. Passing unsigned values also avoids relying on somewhat obscure checks in other flows for safety, and tracks the offset and size as they are intended to be tracked, as unsigned values. On 64-bit kernels, the number of pages a memslot contains and thus the size (and offset) of its guest_memfd binding are unsigned 64-bit values. Taking the offset+size as an loff_t instead of a uoff_t inadvertently converts the unsigned value to a signed value if the offset and/or size is massive. Locally storing the offset and size as signed values is benign in and of itself (though even that is *extremely* difficult to discern), but operating on their sum is not. For the offset, KVM explicitly checks against a negative value, which might seem like a bug as KVM could incorrectly reject a legitimate binding, but that's not actually the case as K

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: uvc: hold opts->lock across XU walks in uvc_function_bind uvc_function_bind() walks &opts->extension_units twice without holding opts->lock: - directly, for the iExtension string-descriptor fixup loop; - indirectly, four times via uvc_copy_descriptors() (once per speed), where the helper iterates uvc->desc.extension_units (which aliases &opts->extension_units) to size and emit XU descriptors. The configfs side (uvcg_extension_make / uvcg_extension_drop, in drivers/usb/gadget/function/uvc_configfs.c) takes opts->lock around its list_add_tail / list_del operations. A privileged userspace process that holds the configfs subtree open and writes the gadget UDC name to bind the function while concurrently rmdir()'ing an extensions subdir can race uvcg_extension_drop() against the bind-time list walks and dereference a freed struct uvcg_extension. Hold opts->lock from the start of the XU string-descriptor fixup through the last uvc_copy_descriptors() call, releasing on the descriptor-error path via a new error_unlock label that drops the lock before falling through to the existing error labe

The issue is unexpected program termination based on ordering and/or specific content in responses to queries for CNAME or DNAME, and A records. Specifically, if a client queries for a DNAME and A record below the DNAME to the resolver, and the authoritative server responds positively to the A query but delays the DNAME response and later responds negatively, `named` may quit unexpectedly. Or, if a client queries for a CNAME and A record for the same name to the resolver, and the authoritative server responds positively to the A query but delays the CNAME response and later responds with a self-referential CNAME, the same failure may occur. This issue affects BIND 9 versions 9.18.0 through 9.18.50, 9.20.0 through 9.20.24, 9.18.11-S1 through 9.18.50-S1, and 9.20.9-S1 through 9.20.24-S1.

Jul 22, 2026It is possible for an attacker's zone to respond to a query with an RRSIG that has a smaller number of labels than the zone in which the RRSIG is contained.CVE-2026-11721 · Other software · ISC · reported by security-officer@isc.orgHigh 7.5
It is possible for an attacker's zone to respond to a query with an RRSIG that has a smaller number of labels than the zone in which the RRSIG is contained. This causes `named` to produce a wildcard name for a zone that is shorter than the attacker's zone, which can result in cache poisoning. For this attack to have any effect, the resolver under attack must have set `synth-from-dnssec yes;` (which is the default). A DNSSEC validating resolver that is under a random subdomain attack against a DNSSEC-signed zone can suffer from runaway memory usage. If BIND encounters a particular invalid data structure in a DNS record, it will accept the invalid data, and may subsequently abort and exit. BIND will first need to store a DNS record for a key (KEY, DNSKEY, etc.). That key must specify a PRIVATEDNS algorithm (253), and in the algorithm identifier, improperly give a length longer than the actual identifier data. The invalid identifier will be stored. If BIND later needs to render that record to text, it will use the invalid length during processing, leading to a consistency check failing. The MCTP-over-I2C+GPIO target binding in Zephyr (subsys/pmci/mctp/mctp_i2c_gpio_target.c) processes pseudo-register writes from an I2C bus master byte-by-byte in mctp_i2c_gpio_target_write_received() without validating the order or the receive buffer. In the affected versions the MCTP_I2C_GPIO_RX_MSG_ADDR (data) handler dereferences and writes through b->rx_pkt without checking that the receive buffer was allocated: a controller that selects the data register and writes a byte without first sending the length register (which is what allocates the buffer) causes a write of an attacker-chosen byte through a NULL/unallocated mctp_pktbuf pointer (i.e. into a small attacker-advanceable offset above address 0), producing memory corruption or a hard fault. The same handler also performs a write-then-check bounds test, allowing a one-byte heap overflow at data[255] when more than 255 data bytes are sent. Because the I2C target callback is invoked with raw bytes supplied by whatever device is the bus master and the binding performs no authentication, a malicious or malfunctioning controller on the bus can trigger these without any prior protocol state, leading to memory corruption and/or

A stack-based buffer overflow was found in rpcbind's rpcinfo utility. In rpcbdump() short mode (used by `rpcinfo -s`), version numbers from a remote RPCBPROC_DUMP reply are written into a fixed-size stack buffer without bounds checking. A user or administrator who runs `rpcinfo -s` against a malicious or compromised rpcbind endpoint could experience a crash or denial of service of the rpcinfo client.

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: devmem: reject dma-buf bind with non-page-aligned size or SG length net_devmem_bind_dCVE-2026-64124 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: devmem: reject dma-buf bind with non-page-aligned size or SG length net_devmem_bind_dmabuf() trusts dmabuf->size and sg_dma_len() to be PAGE_SIZE multiples without checking: - tx_vec is sized dmabuf->size / PAGE_SIZE, and net_devmem_get_niov_at() only bounds-checks virt_addr < dmabuf->size before indexing tx_vec[virt_addr / PAGE_SIZE]. With size = N*PAGE_SIZE + r (1 <= r < PAGE_SIZE), sendmsg() at iov_base = N*PAGE_SIZE passes the bound check and reads tx_vec[N] -- one past. - owner->area.num_niovs = len / PAGE_SIZE while gen_pool_add_owner() covers the full byte len, so a non-page-multiple non-final sg desyncs num_niovs from the gen_pool region for every later sg, on both RX and TX. dma-buf does not require page-aligned sizes, so the bind path has to enforce what its own indexing assumes. Reject both with -EINVAL. The size check is TX-only (only tx_vec is sized off dmabuf->size); the SG-length check covers both directions.

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock/virtio: bind uarg before filling zerocopy skb virtio_transport_send_pkt_info() allocCVE-2026-63970 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock/virtio: bind uarg before filling zerocopy skb virtio_transport_send_pkt_info() allocates or reuses the zerocopy uarg before entering the send loop, but virtio_transport_alloc_skb() still fills the skb before it inherits that uarg. When fixed-buffer vectored zerocopy hits MAX_SKB_FRAGS, io_sg_from_iter() may partially attach managed frags and return -EMSGSIZE. The rollback path call kfree_skb() to free an skb that carries SKBFL_MANAGED_FRAG_REFS but no uarg, so skb_release_data() falls through to ordinary frag unref. Pass the uarg into virtio_transport_alloc_skb() and bind it immediately before virtio_transport_fill_skb(). This keeps control or no-payload skbs untouched while ensuring success and rollback share one lifetime rule.

Jul 17, 2026rust-openssl provides OpenSSL bindings for the Rust programming language.CVE-2026-45784 · Other software · rust-openssl · reported by GitHubMedium 5.1
rust-openssl provides OpenSSL bindings for the Rust programming language. From 0.10.50 until 0.10.80, CipherCtxRef::cipher_update_inplace in openssl/src/cipher_ctx.rs incorrectly sized output buffers when used with AES key-wrap-with-padding ciphers EVP_aes_{128,192,256}_wrap_pad. For a non-multiple-of-8 input, OpenSSL writes up to 7 bytes past the end of the caller's buffer or Vec, producing attacker-controllable heap corruption when the plaintext length is attacker-influenced. A flaw was found in samba's pam_winbind. When mkhomedir is enabled, pam_winbind chowns the target account's home directory without validating the path is not a critical system directory such as /. On affected systems, accounts with / as their home directory (a common default for system accounts) can have this triggered not only by root, but by a non-root user holding a narrow sudo delegation to run commands as that account, causing ownership of / to change and resulting in severe denial of service (SSH, sudo, and package-manager failures). The change does not grant write access to / (which ships with restrictive 0555 permissions on RHEL), so the impact is availability loss rather than further privilege escalation.

Jul 2, 2026The Erlang/OTP ssl application does not validate that the PSK identity list and binder list carried in a TLS 1.3 ClientHello pre-shared key extension have equalCVE-2026-55952 · Other software · Erlang · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.2
The Erlang/OTP ssl application does not validate that the PSK identity list and binder list carried in a TLS 1.3 ClientHello pre-shared key extension have equal length before passing them to the session ticket handler. In tls_handshake_1_3:handle_pre_shared_key/3, an OfferedPreSharedKeys record with a mismatched number of identities and binders is forwarded directly to tls_server_session_ticket:use/4, which crashes the session ticket handler process. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send a single crafted ClientHello to a TLS 1.3 server with session tickets enabled (stateful or stateless mode) and permanently disrupt session ticket handling on that listener. New TLS 1.3 handshakes complete but subsequently crash when the server attempts to issue a session ticket, effectively making TLS 1.3 unusable on the affected listener until the ssl application is restarted. TLS 1.2 connections are not affected. This issue affects OTP from OTP 22.2 before OTP 29.0.3, OTP 28.5.0.3 and OTP 27.3.4.14, corresponding to ssl from 9.5 before 11.7.3, 11.6.0.3 and 11.2.12.10.

Jul 1, 2026NodeBB does not bind the claimed author of an inbound ActivityPub object to the authenticated remote actor.CVE-2026-58593 · Other software · NodeBB · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7
NodeBB does not bind the claimed author of an inbound ActivityPub object to the authenticated remote actor. The inbound middleware verifies the HTTP-signature actor and checks the origin of object.id, but never validates that attributedTo corresponds to the sender. In the object mock, attributedTo is used directly as a uid, and actors.assert silently ignores numeric identifiers (filtering them out without re-deriving the uid), so a federated remote actor can set attributedTo to a bare numeric value such as 1 and have the resulting post or private message created with that local uid as author, including the administrator account. This lets a remote attacker forge posts and direct messages attributed to arbitrary local users. Requires the ActivityPub/federation feature to be enabled.
