Express XSS Sanitizer is Express 4.x and 5.x middleware which sanitizes user input data (in req.body, req.query, req.headers and req.params) to prevent Cross Site Scripting (XSS) attack. A vulnerability has been identified in versions prior to 2.0.2 where restrictive sanitization configurations are silently ignored. In version 2.0.2, the validation logic has been updated to respect explicitly provided empty configurations. Now, if allowedTags or allowedAttributes are provided (even if empty), they are passed directly to sanitize-html without being overridden.

  • Mar 27, 2026BuildKit is a toolkit for converting source code to build artifacts in an efficient, expressive and repeatable manner.CVE-2026-33748 · Other software · moby · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2

BuildKit is a toolkit for converting source code to build artifacts in an efficient, expressive and repeatable manner. Prior to version 0.28.1, insufficient validation of Git URL fragment subdir components may allow access to files outside the checked-out Git repository root. Possible access is limited to files on the same mounted filesystem. The issue has been fixed in version v0.28.1 The issue affects only builds that use Git URLs with a subpath component. As a workaround, avoid building Dockerfiles from untrusted sources or using the subdir component from an untrusted Git repository where the subdir component could point to a symlink.

BuildKit is a toolkit for converting source code to build artifacts in an efficient, expressive and repeatable manner. Prior to version 0.28.1, when using a custom BuildKit frontend, the frontend can craft an API message that causes files to be written outside of the BuildKit state directory for the execution context. The issue has been fixed in v0.28.1. The vulnerability requires using an untrusted BuildKit frontend set with `#syntax` or `--build-arg BUILDKIT_SYNTAX`. Using these options with a well-known frontend image like `docker/dockerfile` is not affected.

  • Mar 26, 2026Impact: A bad regular expression is generated any time you have three or more parameters within a single segment, separated by something that is not a period (CVE-2026-4867 · Other software · path-to-regexp · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbHigh 7.5

Impact: A bad regular expression is generated any time you have three or more parameters within a single segment, separated by something that is not a period (.). For example, /:a-:b-:c or /:a-:b-:c-:d. The backtrack protection added in path-to-regexp@0.1.12 only prevents ambiguity for two parameters. With three or more, the generated lookahead does not block single separator characters, so capture groups overlap and cause catastrophic backtracking. Patches: Upgrade to path-to-regexp@0.1.13 Custom regex patterns in route definitions (e.g., /:a-:b([^-/]+)-:c([^-/]+)) are not affected because they override the default capture group. Workarounds: All versions can be patched by providing a custom regular expression for parameters after the first in a single segment. As long as the custom regular expression does not match the text before the parameter, you will be safe. For example, change /:a-:b-:c to /:a-:b([^-/]+)-:c([^-/]+). If paths cannot be rewritten and versions cannot be upgraded, another alternative is to limit the URL length.

A JSONPath injection vulnerability in Spring AI's AbstractFilterExpressionConverter allows authenticated users to bypass metadata-based access controls through crafted filter expressions. User-controlled input passed to FilterExpressionBuilder is concatenated into JSONPath queries without proper escaping, enabling attackers to inject arbitrary JSONPath logic and access unauthorized documents. This vulnerability affects applications using vector stores that extend AbstractFilterExpressionConverter for multi-tenant isolation, role-based access control, or document filtering based on metadata. The vulnerability occurs when user-supplied values in filter expressions are not escaped before being inserted into JSONPath queries. Special characters like ", ||, and && are passed through unescaped, allowing injection of arbitrary JSONPath logic that can alter the intended query semantics.

  • Mar 7, 2026express-rate-limit is a basic rate-limiting middleware for Express.CVE-2026-30827 · Other software · express-rate-limit · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

express-rate-limit is a basic rate-limiting middleware for Express. In versions starting from 8.0.0 and prior to versions 8.0.2, 8.1.1, 8.2.2, and 8.3.0, the default keyGenerator in express-rate-limit applies IPv6 subnet masking (/56 by default) to all addresses that net.isIPv6() returns true for. This includes IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses (::ffff:x.x.x.x), which Node.js returns as request.ip on dual-stack servers. Because the first 80 bits of all IPv4-mapped addresses are zero, a /56 (or any /32 to /80) subnet mask produces the same network key (::/56) for every IPv4 client. This collapses all IPv4 traffic into a single rate-limit bucket: one client exhausting the limit causes HTTP 429 for all other IPv4 clients. This issue has been patched in versions 8.0.2, 8.1.1, 8.2.2, and 8.3.0.

  • Feb 25, 2026minimatch is a minimal matching utility for converting glob expressions into JavaScript RegExp objects.CVE-2026-27904 · Other software · isaacs · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

minimatch is a minimal matching utility for converting glob expressions into JavaScript RegExp objects. Prior to version 10.2.3, 9.0.7, 8.0.6, 7.4.8, 6.2.2, 5.1.8, 4.2.5, and 3.1.4, nested `*()` extglobs produce regexps with nested unbounded quantifiers (e.g. `(?:(?:a|b)*)*`), which exhibit catastrophic backtracking in V8. With a 12-byte pattern `*(*(*(a|b)))` and an 18-byte non-matching input, `minimatch()` stalls for over 7 seconds. Adding a single nesting level or a few input characters pushes this to minutes. This is the most severe finding: it is triggered by the default `minimatch()` API with no special options, and the minimum viable pattern is only 12 bytes. The same issue affects `+()` extglobs equally. Versions 10.2.3, 9.0.7, 8.0.6, 7.4.8, 6.2.2, 5.1.8, 4.2.5, and 3.1.4 fix the issue.

minimatch is a minimal matching utility for converting glob expressions into JavaScript RegExp objects. Prior to version 10.2.3, 9.0.7, 8.0.6, 7.4.8, 6.2.2, 5.1.8, 4.2.5, and 3.1.3, `matchOne()` performs unbounded recursive backtracking when a glob pattern contains multiple non-adjacent `**` (GLOBSTAR) segments and the input path does not match. The time complexity is O(C(n, k)) -- binomial -- where `n` is the number of path segments and `k` is the number of globstars. With k=11 and n=30, a call to the default `minimatch()` API stalls for roughly 5 seconds. With k=13, it exceeds 15 seconds. No memoization or call budget exists to bound this behavior. Any application where an attacker can influence the glob pattern passed to `minimatch()` is vulnerable. The realistic attack surface includes build tools and task runners that accept user-supplied glob arguments (ESLint, Webpack, Rollup config), multi-tenant systems where one tenant configures glob-based rules that run in a shared process, admin or developer interfaces that accept ignore-rule or filter configuration as globs, and CI/CD pipelines that evaluate user-submitted config files containing glob patterns. Fiber is an Express inspired web framework written in Go. In versions on the v3 branch prior to 3.1.0, the use of the `fiber_flash` cookie can force an unbounded allocation on any server. A crafted 10-character cookie value triggers an attempt to allocate up to 85GB of memory via unvalidated msgpack deserialization. No authentication is required. Every GoFiber v3 endpoint is affected regardless of whether the application uses flash messages. Version 3.1.0 fixes the issue.

Fiber is an Express inspired web framework written in Go. A denial of service vulnerability exists in Fiber v2 and v3 that allows remote attackers to crash the application by sending requests to routes with more than 30 parameters. The vulnerability results from missing validation during route registration combined with an unbounded array write during request matching. Version 2.52.12 patches the issue in the v2 branch and 3.1.0 patches the issue in the v3 branch.

  • Feb 19, 2026minimatch is a minimal matching utility for converting glob expressions into JavaScript RegExp objects.CVE-2026-26996 · Other software · isaacs · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

minimatch is a minimal matching utility for converting glob expressions into JavaScript RegExp objects. Versions 10.2.0 and below are vulnerable to Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) when a glob pattern contains many consecutive * wildcards followed by a literal character that doesn't appear in the test string. Each * compiles to a separate [^/]*? regex group, and when the match fails, V8's regex engine backtracks exponentially across all possible splits. The time complexity is O(4^N) where N is the number of * characters. With N=15, a single minimatch() call takes ~2 seconds. With N=34, it hangs effectively forever. Any application that passes user-controlled strings to minimatch() as the pattern argument is vulnerable to DoS. This issue has been fixed in version 10.2.1.
