• Sep 14, 2026Zephyr's TLS socket layer in subsys/net/lib/sockets/sockets_tls.c keeps a single process-global array, client_cache, of cached client sessions that is shared byCVE-2026-15924 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 5.9

Zephyr's TLS socket layer in subsys/net/lib/sockets/sockets_tls.c keeps a single process-global array, client_cache, of cached client sessions that is shared by every TLS socket context. The functions that mutate and read it — tls_session_save(), tls_session_get(), tls_session_cache_reset(), and the settings restore handler — allocate, free, and dereference each entry's heap buffer (entry->session). Before the fix these accesses were serialized only by the per-socket context mutex ctx->lock (assigned per socket in ctx_set_lock()), which provides no mutual exclusion between different sockets touching the shared cache. Because CONFIG_NET_SOCKETS_TLS_MAX_CLIENT_SESSION_COUNT defaults to 1, any two concurrent client sockets contend for the same slot. A thread in tls_session_get() reading entry->session inside mbedtls_ssl_session_load() can run concurrently with another thread in tls_session_save() that selects the same entry for reuse and executes mbedtls_free(entry->session) before reallocating — a use-after-free read, and a double-free when two saves evict the same entry. Both corrupt the mbedTLS heap. The cache is reached on ordinary client paths: at connect time via tls_session_st

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: RCU-protect cl_cb_session to fix use-after-free on session teardown After a DESTROY_SESSION the per-session teardown path can free a session while rpciod still holds an inflight callback rpc_task that dereferences clp->cl_cb_session. nfsd4_probe_callback_sync() flushes cl_callback_wq, but once nfsd4_run_cb_work() has called rpc_call_async() the rpc_task lives on rpciod; flushing the workqueue does not wait for it. rpc_shutdown_client() does drain rpciod tasks, but uses a 1-second wait_event_timeout — tasks stuck in rpc_delay() (e.g. 2-second NFS4ERR_DELAY retries) can outlive the drain. destroy path rpciod ------------ ------ unhash_session(ses) nfsd4_probe_callback_sync(clp) flush_workqueue(cl_callback_wq) /* returns; rpc_task still live */ nfsd4_put_session_locked(ses) free_session(ses) -> kfree(ses) nfsd4_cb_sequence_done() reads cb_clp->cl_cb_session /* freed slab */ A second window exists in nfsd4_pro

  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: don't free session slots that are still in use nfsd4_sequence() can free the very slCVE-2026-89689 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: don't free session slots that are still in use nfsd4_sequence() can free the very slot it is currently processing. When the session shrinker has reduced se_target_maxslots below se_fchannel.maxreqs, the shrink path checks three conditions before calling free_session_slots(): 1. se_target_maxslots < maxreqs (shrink was advertised) 2. slot->sl_generation == se_slot_gen (slot is up-to-date) 3. seq->maxslots <= se_target_maxslots (client acknowledges) However, seq->slotid is never checked against se_target_maxslots. A client using a slot in the range [se_target_maxslots, maxreqs) can satisfy all three conditions: its slot has the current generation (set by a prior SEQUENCE), and it sends sa_highest_slotid <= se_target_maxslots to acknowledge the reduction. free_session_slots() then kfrees every slot at index >= se_target_maxslots, including the caller's own slot. The function continues to write sl_seqid, sl_flags, sl_generation, and stores the dangling pointer in cstate->slot. Later, nfsd4_store_cache_entry() copies up to maxresp_cached bytes of the compound reply into the freed sl_data[] array, cor

  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: fix UAF in check_new_map() on session freed during unlock check_new_map() iterates mCVE-2026-89654 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: fix UAF in check_new_map() on session freed during unlock check_new_map() iterates mdsc->sessions[] and for each active session drops mdsc->mutex to perform per-session operations. The forced-close path (rank removed from map) correctly takes a reference on s via ceph_get_mds_session() before releasing mdsc->mutex, but three other paths do not: Path A (address changed): mutex_unlock → mutex_lock(&s->s_mutex) Path B (reconnect): mutex_unlock → send_mds_reconnect(mdsc, s) Path C (active transition): mutex_unlock → mutex_lock(&s->s_mutex) Without the extra reference, another thread can acquire mdsc->mutex during the unlock window, call __unregister_session() which drops the last reference on s, and free it. The original thread then accesses freed memory via s->s_mutex. Fix by adding ceph_get_mds_session(s) before each mutex_unlock and ceph_put_mds_session(s) after the corresponding mutex_lock, matching the pattern already used in the forced-close path. Race timeline (Path A): Thread A (check_new_map) Thread B (another map update holds mdsc->mutex or s

  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: bound MDSCapAuth path and fs_name decode in handle_session() handle_session() decodeCVE-2026-89651 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: bound MDSCapAuth path and fs_name decode in handle_session() handle_session() decodes the MDSCapAuth records carried by a CEPH_SESSION_OPEN message (msg_version >= 6). For each record the match.path and match.fs_name byte strings are read by first decoding a 32-bit length and then copying that many bytes with the bare ceph_decode_copy(). Unlike the surrounding fields, which all use the _safe decode variants, these two copies are not preceded by a ceph_decode_need() bounds check, and the enclosing MDSCapAuth and MDSCapMatch struct_len fields are skipped rather than enforced as an upper bound. A length larger than the bytes remaining in the message front makes ceph_decode_copy() read past the end of the front buffer. The message front is a dedicated allocation (ceph_msg_new2() -> kvmalloc), so the over-read runs off that object. A malicious or compromised MDS can trigger this with the first post-connect message on mount, with no client-side user interaction; under KASAN it is reported as a slab-out-of-bounds read in handle_session(). Impact: a malicious MDS can force the kernel client to read up to 4 GiB pa

  • Sep 9, 2026tirreno, a security framework, has a session fixation issue in versions prior to 0.10.0.CVE-2026-64857 · Other software · tirrenotechnologies · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

tirreno, a security framework, has a session fixation issue in versions prior to 0.10.0. During authentication, tirreno validates the user's credentials and establishes the authenticated session, but it does not call `session_regenerate_id()` afterward. As a result, the session identifier is not rotated on login, it stays the same before and after authentication. An attacker able to fix a known session identifier in a victim's browser (for example through a network man-in-the-middle position, or a separate cross-site scripting or subdomain cookie-injection issue) could then gain access to the victim's authenticated session. The issue is fixed in v0.10.0. The session identifier is now regenerated on successful authentication, and the previous session is destroyed. There is no configuration-level workaround.

RouterOS WebFig contains an unauthenticated file-read vulnerability in the /jsproxy path where a newly allocated session retains a stale uninitialized principal pointer used for file authorization. An unauthenticated attacker can prepare the allocator so that the file-serving path dereferences this pointer with sufficient rights, then supply parent-directory components in an encrypted URI to escape the WebFig file namespace and disclose root-owned files, including configuration stores containing credentials. This issue affects only 7.x branch was fixed in versions: 7.23.4 (Long-term) and 7.24.2 (Stable)

  • Sep 3, 2026MISP contains a session fixation vulnerability in the CustomAuth authentication (a custom configuration) flow.CVE-2026-85238 · Other software · misp · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8High 7.6

MISP contains a session fixation vulnerability in the CustomAuth authentication (a custom configuration) flow. When a user was successfully authenticated through CustomAuth, MISP stored the authenticated user identity in the existing session without first rotating the session identifier. As a result, if an attacker can cause a victim to use a session identifier known to the attacker before authentication, that same session identifier remains valid after the victim successfully authenticates. The attacker could subsequently reuse the fixed session identifier to access the victim's authenticated MISP session, potentially gaining the privileges associated with the victim's account. The issue occurs because __customAuthentication() wrote the authenticated user into the existing CakePHP session while the call to Session->renew() had previously been disabled. The patch restores session identifier rotation when a new authentication occurs or when the authenticated user changes, while avoiding unnecessary session renewal on every request.

  • Sep 3, 2026FreeRDP versions 3.0.0 through 3.30.0 (before 3.31.0) transmit uninitialized heap memory in Save Session Info PDU reserved padding fields.CVE-2026-85089 · Other software · FreeRDP · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.1

FreeRDP versions 3.0.0 through 3.30.0 (before 3.31.0) transmit uninitialized heap memory in Save Session Info PDU reserved padding fields. Three PDU writers in libfreerdp/core/info.c (rdp_write_logon_info_v2, rdp_write_logon_info_plain, and rdp_write_logon_info_ex) use Stream_Seek instead of Stream_Zero for reserved pad bytes (up to 576 bytes), leaving previously freed heap contents in the outgoing PDU. Because the send buffer is allocated with malloc (not zeroed), stale heap data — which may include cleartext credentials from prior sessions — can be sent to the receiving peer. FreeRDP-based servers using rdpUpdate::SaveSessionInfo and freerdp-proxy (which forwards these PDUs) are affected, allowing disclosure of server/proxy process memory to a downstream client.

A vulnerability in Cisco Desk Phone 9800 Series, Cisco IP Phone 7800 and 8800 Series, and Cisco Video Phone 8875 that are running Cisco Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device. This vulnerability is due to improper memory management when an affected device processes HTTP packets. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a continuous stream of crafted HTTP packets to the device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the affected device to continuously consume memory, resulting in a DoS condition. A manual reboot of the device is required to recover from this condition. Note: For this vulnerability to be exploitable, the phone must be registered to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM) and have Web Access enabled. Web Access is disabled by default.

  • Aug 30, 2026Exposure of Data Element to Wrong Session vulnerability in ash-project ash_graphql can deliver one subscription's resolved records to a different subscriber's tCVE-2026-82367 · Other software · ash-project · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.3

Exposure of Data Element to Wrong Session vulnerability in ash-project ash_graphql can deliver one subscription's resolved records to a different subscriber's topic. AshGraphql.Subscription.Batcher.do_send/5 reads the resolved batch from the process dictionary via Process.get(:batch_resolved) and then unconditionally deletes it. That is sound only inside a task the library owns. On the :backpressure_sync and :noproc fallbacks do_send/5 runs inline in the publishing caller's process, so if a resolver inside an outer do_send/5 triggers another synchronous Ash notification, the inner call finds the outer run's value still under :batch_resolved, adopts it as its own result, and publishes it to the inner topic, a different subscription document with a different actor and tenant. It then deletes the key, so the outer run publishes nothing. The key is not namespaced by run, so records cannot be told apart. The fix saves, clears, and restores :batch_resolved around each run. This issue affects ash_graphql: from 1.4.0 before 1.11.0.
