  • Sep 24, 2026IO::Socket::SSL::SelfCertificate versions 1.00 for Perl contains malware which executes Python code from an obfuscated URL.CVE-2026-97230 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eCritical 9.8

IO::Socket::SSL::SelfCertificate versions 1.00 for Perl contains malware which executes Python code from an obfuscated URL. The generate_certificate runs a Python script saved as a certificate file. The pyhton script attempts to retrieve code from a hardcoded http URL that is obfuscated with base64 encoding and run the response body directly. The impact is that arbitrary code can be invoked as the user, without a dropped script being saved on the affected host. The releases have no test scripts nor build hooks. The intention may have been to trigger the payload after installation. The dropper script is in lib/Crypt/SelfCertificate/sample/cert.pem. This is similar to CVE-2026-95831 for the module Crypt::SelfCertificate. • Sep 24, 2026An integer overflow in the BSON document encoding component of the MongoDB Python Driver's bundled native extension may occur when a single document is built frCVE-2026-96749 · Other software · MongoDB · reported by cna@mongodb.comHigh 7.5

An integer overflow in the BSON document encoding component of the MongoDB Python Driver's bundled native extension may occur when a single document is built from an unusually large amount of caller-supplied data. Size arithmetic is performed in a signed 32-bit type, and the guard meant to catch the overflow is written in a form whose behavior is not defined by the C language standard. A party with no privileges who can place a very large value into data that an application encodes may, depending on how the native extension was built, cause a write outside the bounds of an allocated buffer inside the application's own process.

PyMongo's connection string parsing decodes percent-encoded characters in the host portion before the host list is separated on its delimiters. When an application places a hostname value supplied by an unauthenticated party into a connection string, that party may cause additional servers of their choosing to be added to the application's database client. The application may then send its authentication exchange and database operations to one of those servers, which can observe limited information and return altered results.

The client-side field level encryption support in the MongoDB Python Driver can treat a key management endpoint value ending in ".sock" as a local Unix domain socket path rather than a remote host. A user with write access to the encryption key metadata stored in the database can cause an application using the driver to open connections to local sockets on the application host. Data sent over these connections is limited to the start of a TLS handshake, so no chosen content is transmitted.

  • Sep 24, 2026Python Social Auth is a social authentication/registration mechanism.CVE-2026-57179 · Other software · python-social-auth · reported by GitHubMedium 4.2

Python Social Auth is a social authentication/registration mechanism. Prior to version 5.0.0, the partial-pipeline resume mechanism accepted `partial_token` as a bearer credential without binding it to the browser session that created it. Applications using resumable partial pipeline steps could allow an attacker to start an authentication flow, obtain a valid partial token and verification data, and cause a victim's browser to resume that attacker-controlled flow. This could authenticate the victim's browser as the attacker's account. The issue affects applications using partial pipeline steps such as `mail_validation` or custom steps decorated with `@partial`. The issue has been fixed in version 5.0.0 by binding partial pipeline resumes to the originating browser session.

  • Sep 24, 2026Python Social Auth is a social authentication/registration mechanism.CVE-2026-57178 · Other software · python-social-auth · reported by GitHubHigh 7.4

Python Social Auth is a social authentication/registration mechanism. Prior to version 5.0.0, the `vk-app` backend accepted VK application callback data without verifying the callback signature when the `auth_key` parameter was omitted. Applications using this backend could treat unsigned attacker-controlled data as a verified VK identity. An attacker could choose callback fields such as `viewer_id`, `access_token`, `api_id`, and `api_result`, potentially allowing authentication as an arbitrary VK user ID. The issue affects only applications using the `vk-app` backend. The issue has been fixed in version 5.0.0 by requiring `auth_key` to be present and valid before callback data is trusted.

Python Social Auth is a social authentication/registration mechanism. Prior to version 5.0.0, the LoginRadius backend did not validate OAuth state during the authentication flow. Applications using this backend were vulnerable to login CSRF. An attacker could cause a victim's browser session to complete authentication using an attacker-controlled LoginRadius token, making the victim authenticated as the attacker's LoginRadius identity. Python Social Auth is a social authentication/registration mechanism. Prior to version 5.0.0, the Vend OAuth2 backend used only the numeric Vend user_id as the social-auth UID. When multiple Vend shops authenticate through the same application, users from different shops with the same internal Vend user ID could collide in the social-auth association table. A user from one shop could then be authenticated as the local account previously associated with the same numeric user ID from another shop. Python Social Auth is a social authentication/registration mechanism. Prior to version 5.0.0, the SAML backend accepted SAML responses on the Assertion Consumer Service endpoint without verifying that they matched a previously issued `AuthnRequest`. Applications using SAML account association could allow an attacker with a valid account on a trusted IdP to link the attacker's SAML identity to a logged-in victim's local account. The attacker could then authenticate through SAML and gain access to the victim's account. The issue affects applications using the SAML backend together with authenticated account association. hpack is an HTTP/2 Header Encoding for Python. Prior to version 4.2.0, unbounded variable integer decoding can cause run-away computation on malformed input leading to O(n^2) runtime, effectively blocking further processing with large enough unsanitized input. A fix is available in python-hyper/hpack v4.2.0 to restricted variable integer decoding to uint32 to prevent run-away computation. Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') vulnerability in the `tar` source plugin of Apache BuildStream running on Python < 3.12 allows malicious source tarballs to write files on the host, with the privileges of the user running BuildStream, via symlinks as part of source fetching. The impact of this issue is mitigated by: * BuildStream projects should only use trusted sources in their elements as otherwise the build output can also not be trusted * Tracking a source tarball pins its SHA256 hash, which prevents MITM attacks of users that are fetching an already tracked project * When running on Python >= 3.12, BuildStream >= 2.3.0 already makes use of the Python `tarfile` filter functionality, which blocks the symlink escape Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.8.1, which fixes this issue.

  • Sep 22, 2026A caching flaw in the toolbox-core package of the mcp-toolbox-sdk-python SDK causes the same Google ID token to be cached and reused across different audiences.CVE-2026-19202 · Computers, phones & browsers · Google · reported by cve-coordination@google.comCritical 9.1

A caching flaw in the toolbox-core package of the mcp-toolbox-sdk-python SDK causes the same Google ID token to be cached and reused across different audiences. If an application uses the SDK to authenticate to two or more different audiences within the same process, the module-level token cache fails to key its cached tokens by the requested audience. Consequently, a valid, unexpired token minted for a sensitive service (Service A) can be retrieved from the cache and sent to a secondary service (Service B). An attacker who operates, compromises, or monitors traffic to Service B can capture this token and replay it to impersonate the victim application against Service A.

  • Sep 22, 2026icalendar is an RFC 5545 compatible parser and generator of iCalendar files for Python.CVE-2026-77399 · Other software · collective · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

icalendar is an RFC 5545 compatible parser and generator of iCalendar files for Python. From 6.1.0 until 7.2.2, vInt.from_ical accepts an attacker-controlled VALARM REPEAT value and applications that request alarm times can eagerly expand it without an application-level limit. Alarms.times and Alarms.active reach the unbounded expansion in versions starting with 6.1.0, while Alarm.triggers adds a second affected path starting with 7.0.0. • Sep 21, 2026Zapros, a Python HTTP client, prior to version 0.14.0 is vulnerable to denial of service via memory exhaustion.CVE-2026-61652 · Other software · kap-sh · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

Zapros, a Python HTTP client, prior to version 0.14.0 is vulnerable to denial of service via memory exhaustion. The issue affects all callers who streamed compressed responses relying on the chunk size — explicit (`iter_bytes(chunk_size=...)`) or the default — to bound memory. The decoder ignored that bound, so a chunk could be far larger than requested and a single compressed response could overflow memory. Version 0.14.0 contains a patch. Some workarounds are available. Read the still-compressed body with `Response.iter_raw()` / `Response.async_iter_raw()`, which bypass the built-in decoders, and decompress it yourself with an explicit output-size bound (e.g. `zlib`'s `max_length`), aborting once a configured limit is exceeded. Where feasible, send `Accept-Encoding: identity` to disable response compression so bodies are not decompressed client-side. Avoid decoding response bodies from untrusted servers.

Zapros, a Python HTTP client, prior to version 0.14.0 is vulnerable to denial of service when an application requests content from an untrusted server, or follows a redirect to one, because a malicious response containing an excessive number of chained `Content-Encoding` values causes Zapros to construct a deeply nested decompression chain that consumes excessive resources. Version 0.14.0 patches the vulnerability by limiting responses to five content-encoding layers and raising `DecodingError` when that limit is exceeded. As a workaround, applications can add response middleware that inspects the `Content-Encoding` header and rejects responses containing more than a safe number of encoding layers.

  • Sep 21, 2026Tautulli is a Python based monitoring and tracking tool for Plex Media Server.CVE-2026-54915 · Other software · Tautulli · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4

Tautulli is a Python based monitoring and tracking tool for Plex Media Server. Prior to 2.17.2, the unauthenticated /auth/redirect endpoint in plexpy/webauth.py removes forward slashes from the user-controlled redirect_uri parameter but leaves tab, line-feed, and carriage-return characters intact. With the default root HTTP_ROOT configuration, CherryPy HTTPRedirect passes the resulting value to urllib.parse.urljoin, which can resolve the whitespace-bearing path to an attacker-controlled external origin. A user who follows a crafted link can therefore be redirected outside Tautulli for phishing or post-login redirect-flow abuse, while custom non-root HTTP_ROOT configurations are not affected by this bypass. RestrictedPython is a tool that helps define a subset of the Python language for accepting program input in a trusted environment. Prior to 8.4, RestrictedPython could allow a sandbox escape when a custom import policy or globals exposed the standard library string module, the string.Formatter class, a Formatter instance, or a Formatter subclass to restricted code. The string.Formatter methods format, get_field, get_value, and vformat performed attribute and item traversal internally without passing through RestrictedPython's safer_getattr protections. Restricted code could use those live object references to reach function globals, builtins, file access, or code execution primitives, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability in the host environment. This issue is fixed in version 8.4.

Apache Airflow Apache Kafka provider versions 1.15.0 before 2.0.0 resolve dotted-path strings found in a Kafka connection's `extra` field into Python callables via `import_string`, with no allowlist, and hand them to the confluent-kafka client which invokes them. Deployments that have enabled the Kafka event producer — `dag_run_events_enabled` or `task_instance_events_enabled`, both disabled by default — build that client inside the scheduler process, so a user whose only privilege is editing Airflow connections gains arbitrary code execution in the control plane; the Airflow security model limits connection-configuration users to code execution on workers, not the scheduler. Deployments using Google Managed Kafka are not affected, because that code path overwrites any user-supplied `oauth_cb`; plain brokers and Amazon MSK are exposed. Users are recommended to upgrade to apache-airflow-providers-apache-kafka 2.0.0 or later, which adds an allowlist configuration option for connection-string callbacks.

pyLoad is a free and open-source download manager written in Python. Prior to 0.5.0b3.dev101, EventManager in src/pyload/core/managers/event_manager.py appends a Client object to the clients list for each unique uuid submitted to the authenticated getEvents API endpoint, but get_events does not invoke the available clean method to remove inactive clients. An authenticated user can repeatedly submit unique UUID values, causing retained client objects and process memory to grow without bound even after requests stop. The resulting memory exhaustion can trigger an operating-system out-of-memory termination of pyLoad or host-wide instability and denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 0.5.0b3.dev101.

  • Sep 15, 2026pyLoad is a free and open-source download manager written in Python.CVE-2026-48737 · Other software · pyload · reported by GitHubMedium 4.9

pyLoad is a free and open-source download manager written in Python. Prior to 0.5.0b3.dev101, is_global_address in src/pyload/core/utils/web/check.py relies on Python's global-address classification without examining IPv4 destinations embedded in 6to4 or NAT64 IPv6 addresses. A low-privileged user can submit an IPv6 literal through parse_urls to the pre-resolution is_global_host guard. Because host_to_ip is pinned to AF_INET, that guard does not evaluate a hostname's AAAA result. Separately, curl resolves hostnames before the pycurl PREREQFUNC in src/pyload/core/network/http/http_request.py applies the same vulnerable is_global_address check to the actual connection address, so a transition-form AAAA result can be permitted even when it terminates at an embedded loopback, private, CGNAT, or link-local IPv4 address. Exploitation requires the pyLoad host to route the applicable transition mechanism, including 6to4 on affected Python 3.9 through 3.11 deployments or NAT64 on a network with a NAT64 gateway. Successful exploitation can enable internal-network reconnaissance, timing-based confirmation, limited service disruption, or cloud metadata disclosure where the wrapped address is r

  • Sep 14, 2026ASTEVAL is an evaluator of Python expressions and statements.CVE-2026-55244 · Other software · lmfit · reported by GitHubMedium 5

ASTEVAL is an evaluator of Python expressions and statements. Prior to 1.0.9, FROM_PY in asteval/astutils.py exposes BaseException, SystemExit, KeyboardInterrupt, and GeneratorExit to expressions evaluated by asteval.Interpreter.eval(), while run() and eval() in asteval/asteval.py catch Exception rather than these non-Exception BaseException subclasses. When an attacker-controlled expression raises one of these classes, on_raise() passes the class to raise_exception(), and the resulting exception bypasses the interpreter's safety handlers and propagates into the calling application. A consuming service that evaluates untrusted expressions can therefore be terminated or have signal and cleanup handling disrupted, causing denial of service. The separately documented read-only open() capability is not part of this vulnerability. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.9.

  • Sep 14, 2026devpi is a Python package index staging server and packaging, testing, and release tool.CVE-2026-54723 · Other software · devpi · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

devpi is a Python package index staging server and packaging, testing, and release tool. Prior to 6.20.2 and 7.0.0b3, a server configured with the primary or deprecated master role allows an unauthenticated, modified GET request to the +changelog route because verify_primary does not reject a missing identity and therefore fails to require ReplicaIdentity. The response can disclose complete database content, including Argon2 password hashes and identifiers and salts for devpi-tokens; exposed hashes may be subject to dictionary attacks, and public tokens may assist attempts to derive the server secret. Large responses can also consume significant CPU, input/output capacity, and bandwidth. Servers using the standalone role are not exposed through replication, and an instance served exclusively through nginx with devpi-lockdown redirects the request to login with no known exploit. This issue is fixed in devpi-server versions 6.20.2 and 7.0.0b3.

psd-tools is a Python package for working with Adobe Photoshop PSD files. Prior to version 1.17.1, `SmartObject.save()` writes an embedded smart object to a path taken verbatim from the PSD file. Because that name is attacker-controlled and unsanitised, a tool that extracts embedded objects from an untrusted `.psd` can be made to write attacker-chosen bytes to an attacker-chosen path (absolute or `../`-traversing), outside its intended output directory. A secondary issue in `SmartObject.open()` for external-kind smart objects allows the attacker-controlled `fullPath` descriptor to be used as an arbitrary file read path, enabling exfiltration of the read content to the controlled write destination. • Sep 8, 2026In affected Snowflake drivers, WORKLOAD_IDENTITY authentication requests a cloud workload-identity token and attaches it to the login request without verifying CVE-2026-86600 · Other software · Snowflake · reported by 412d305a-227d-44f9-a262-a31ba44f2aeaHigh 8.2

In affected Snowflake drivers, WORKLOAD_IDENTITY authentication requests a cloud workload-identity token and attaches it to the login request without verifying that the configured host is a Snowflake endpoint. An attacker who can modify the connection configuration can cause the driver to mint a fresh attestation and send it to a host they control. The captured token can be replayed to Snowflake for its remaining lifetime in accounts where that workload identity is already registered. On Azure, the token audience is also taken from connection configuration. Combined with an attacker-controlled host, the driver can request a Managed Identity access token scoped to a non-Snowflake Azure resource and deliver it to the attacker. That path is the only case in which impact extends beyond Snowflake; it is bounded by the token lifetime and the managed identity’s permissions. Successful exploitation requires WORKLOAD_IDENTITY authentication on a workload that already has an ambient cloud identity. Patched driver versions restrict this authenticator to recognized Snowflake hosts. Users must manually upgrade.
