Aug 12, 2026Velociraptor allows scheduling new collections via VQL queries in notebooks.CVE-2026-64954 · Other software · Rapid7 · reported by cve@rapid7.comHigh 8.2
Velociraptor allows scheduling new collections via VQL queries in notebooks. For a user to schedule a new collection, they require the COLLECT_CLIENT permission. However, this is not enforced when the user can run a VQL query which resets the authorization provider. This allows a user who can run arbitrary VQL (usually with the "analyst" role) to launch new collections (usually requires the "investigator" role). This vulnerability is an escalation from an analyst to investigator role.

Aug 11, 2026Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor.CVE-2026-73250 · Other software · notepad-plus-plus · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4
Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. Prior to 8.9.7, the Notepad++ Windows 11 x64 and ARM64 installer passes the attacker-influenced installation directory `$INSTDIR` from PowerEditor/installer/nppSetup.nsi into a PowerShell `-Command` string used by RegisterMSIX to invoke Add-AppxPackage, allowing PowerShell subexpression syntax such as `$()` in the installation path to execute commands in the installer's security context when the context menu component is selected. This issue is fixed in version 8.9.7.

The NewNotebook API does not sufficiently sanitize its parameters allowing an authenticated user with NOTEBOOK_EDIT permission to write the notebook record outside the org's data store directory. The file written must have an extension of ".json.db" but can otherwise overwrite other metadata files (such as ACL records, hunts etc). This can corrupt these files and cause data corruption.

Aug 5, 2026Relative Path Traversal vulnerability in livebook-dev livebook allows an attacker-authored notebook to write a file with attacker-controlled content to an arbitCVE-2026-66881 · Other software · livebook-dev · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 7
Relative Path Traversal vulnerability in livebook-dev livebook allows an attacker-authored notebook to write a file with attacker-controlled content to an arbitrary path. A .livemd notebook can declare file_entries metadata, each entry carrying a name. Every path that creates a file entry through the user interface validates that name with Livebook.Notebook.validate_file_entry_name/2, which requires a flat filename of alphanumerics, dashes, underscores and dots, ending in an extension. The import path does not: Livebook.LiveMarkdown.Import.file_entry_metadata_to_attrs/1 in lib/livebook/live_markdown/import.ex takes the name verbatim from the notebook source. For a URL-type file entry, Livebook.Session.file_entry_cache_file/2 in lib/livebook/session.ex resolves that name beneath the session's temporary directory without checking that the result stays inside it, and Livebook.FileSystem.Utils.resolve_unix_like_path/2 collapses parent-directory segments while clamping only at the filesystem root. When the entry's content is requested and no cached copy exists, Livebook fetches the entry's URL and writes the response body to the resolved path, creating parent directories as needed. Th

Aug 5, 2026Origin Validation Error vulnerability in livebook-dev livebook allows untrusted notebook output JavaScript to trigger session-wide keyboard shortcuts, includingCVE-2026-66298 · Other software · livebook-dev · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.6
Origin Validation Error vulnerability in livebook-dev livebook allows untrusted notebook output JavaScript to trigger session-wide keyboard shortcuts, including forced evaluation of all cells and runtime restart. Livebook's JS-view feature renders notebook-defined JavaScript inside a sandboxed, cross-origin iframe specifically because that JavaScript is untrusted. The trusted iframe shell in iframe/priv/static/iframe/v5.html forwards every keydown event fired in its own window to the parent page without consulting Event.isTrusted, so an event synthesized by the untrusted script through window.dispatchEvent is forwarded exactly as a genuine keystroke would be. The parent-side relay in assets/js/hooks/js_view.js reconstructs and re-dispatches it on the live page with no further validation, and because assets/js/hooks/session.js registers the global shortcut handler on the document in the capture phase, that handler acts on the replicated event regardless of how it was produced. Sandboxed output JavaScript can therefore drive Livebook's session-wide keyboard shortcuts. Two of them reach LivebookWeb.SessionLive and execute immediately with no confirmation: the shortcut for queueing f

marimo before 0.23.15 contains a configuration injection vulnerability that allows notebook authors to exfiltrate operator API keys by embedding a malicious base_url in PEP-723 inline script metadata, which is merged into session configuration with higher precedence than the operator's own settings due to insufficient sanitization in sanitize_pyproject_dict. When an operator opens the crafted notebook and makes an AI request, marimo resolves the attacker-controlled base_url from the notebook config while falling back to the operator's OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable for authentication, transmitting the API key to the attacker-controlled endpoint without requiring any cell execution.

SiYuan before v3.7.3 contains a SQL injection vulnerability in the /api/filetree/searchDocs endpoint, where the caller-supplied keyword parameter is concatenated directly into SQL statements with no escaping or parameter binding. The endpoint is reachable by a publish RoleReader token, or unauthenticated when publish mode is enabled with Publish.Auth.Enable set to false. Because the statement executes on a read-write SQLite handle via a driver that supports stacked (semicolon-separated) statements, an attacker can read and modify database content across all cleartext (non-encrypted) notebooks on the instance.

SiYuan versions <= v3.7.2 expose the /api/search/searchEmbedBlock endpoint, which passes a client-supplied SQL statement verbatim to the main read-write siyuan.db handle with no single-statement, read-only, or admin restrictions. The endpoint is gated only by CheckAuth, making it reachable by the publish RoleReader token and by anonymous users when publish authentication is disabled. SiYuan before v3.7.3 fails to apply publish-access filters to the getBacklinkDoc and getBackmentionDoc content endpoints (/api/ref/getBacklinkDoc and /api/ref/getBackmentionDoc). While the corresponding backlink list endpoints filter publish-forbidden documents, the content endpoints (gated only by CheckAuth) do not. NoteGen before 0.32.0 renders AI chat responses with markdown-it configured with html:true and injects the result into the DOM via dangerouslySetInnerHTML in chat-preview, without HTML sanitization and with CSP set to null. Attacker-controlled content that reaches the model prompt (for example a malicious skill REFERENCE.md that instructs the model to emit HTML) can cause the model response to include executable markup such as an img onerror handler. SiYuan before v3.7.2 contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the POST /mcp kernel endpoint, which is gated only by a general auth check (model.CheckAuth) with no admin-role or read-only enforcement. This exposes 31 MCP tools, including a file tool with list/read/write/delete/rename/copy actions across the entire workspace. When the Publish server is enabled in anonymous mode (Conf.Publish.Enable=true and Conf.Publish.Auth.Enable=false), the Publish reverse proxy attaches an anonymous RoleReader JWT to proxied requests, allowing a remote unauthenticated attacker to reach /mcp. The attacker can read conf/conf.json to extract accessAuthCode, api.token, and cookieKey in plaintext, write arbitrary files in the workspace, and plant a plugin into data/plugins/ that executes with nodeIntegration:true and no contextIsolation on the next desktop launch, leading to administrator takeover.

This is technically an ABI break: before if SNP initialization failed it could be transparently retriggered by this ioctl, and if no VMs were running, everything worked fine. Hopefully this is enough of a corner case that nobody will notice, but someone does, there are a few options: * do something like symbol_get() for kvm and refuse to initialize if KVM is loaded * check each cpu's HSAVE_PA for non-zero data before re-initializing * once initialization has failed, continue to refuse to initialize until the ccp module is unloaded

When a siyuan://plugins/<name> link references a name that is not an installed plugin, the application opens a custom tab and inserts the link's icon parameter into the tab header via innerHTML without escaping it (app/src/layout/Tab.ts), allowing injection of an <img onerror=...> element. Because the SiYuan Desktop renderer runs with nodeIntegration:true, the injected JavaScript can access Node's require and call require('child_process').execSync(...), escalating the cross-site scripting into arbitrary operating-system command execution.

Jul 23, 2026SiYuan before v3.7.2 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in Attribute View (database) cell rendering.CVE-2026-65605 · Other software · siyuan-note · reported by VulnCheckCritical 9.4
SiYuan before v3.7.2 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in Attribute View (database) cell rendering. A Template column value is rendered as HTML via text/template without auto-escaping, and EscapeHTML is only applied when HasUnclosedHtmlTag returns true; because balanced self-closing tags such as <img> are skipped by that check, a payload like <img src=x onerror=...> is stored unescaped and later inserted into the page via innerHTML, executing when the database is viewed. Because the desktop renderer runs with nodeIntegration enabled, the injected script can reach require and escalate to arbitrary command execution.

Jul 20, 2026Rust OneNote File Parser is a parser for Microsoft OneNote files implemented in Rust.CVE-2026-46671 · Other software · msiemens · reported by GitHubMedium 4.4
Rust OneNote File Parser is a parser for Microsoft OneNote files implemented in Rust. Prior to version 1.1.1, a maliciously crafted `.onetoc2` table-of-contents file can cause `Parser::parse_notebook` to open arbitrary files on the host filesystem outside the notebook's directory. The parser reads entry names listed inside the `.onetoc2` and joins them against the notebook's base directory without validating that they are relative paths confined to that directory. The parser will bail out when the target file fails to parse as a OneNote section, so direct content exfiltration through the parser's return value is not practical, though file-existence probing and denial-of-service via large or special files remain possible. Anyone using `onenote_parser` to parse .onetoc2 files received from untrusted sources is affected. Users who only ever parse their own notebooks are not at meaningful risk. The issue is fixed in onenote_parser 1.1.1. The fix rejects absolute paths, parent-directory components, and other invalid path characters in entry names, and additionally canonicalises the resolved path to confirm it stays inside the notebook's base directory. For users who cannot upgrade to 1.

Jul 16, 2026Jupyter Enterprise Gateway launches remote Jupyter Notebook kernels across distributed clusters like Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm.CVE-2026-44182 · Other software · jupyter-server · reported by GitHubCritical 10
Jupyter Enterprise Gateway launches remote Jupyter Notebook kernels across distributed clusters like Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm. In versions prior to 3.3.0, the server interpolates untrusted environment variables (e.g., KERNEL_XXX) into Kubernetes manifests without YAML-aware escaping, enabling YAML injection attacks. Attackers can inject new fields, overwrite critical fields (e.g., duplicate securityContext keys, where the last one prevails), and inject document boundaries (--- for new documents, ... for end-of-document) to generate multiple resources, potentially creating arbitrary types, such as privileged pods. The Jinja2 template for the Kubernetes manifest contains several kernel_xxx variables, such as kernel_working_dir that are used when rendering the manifest and are all vectors for YAML injection. This issue has been fixed in version 3.3.0.

Jul 16, 2026Jupyter Enterprise Gateway launches remote Jupyter Notebook kernels across distributed clusters like Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm.CVE-2026-44181 · Other software · jupyter-server · reported by GitHubCritical 10
Jupyter Enterprise Gateway launches remote Jupyter Notebook kernels across distributed clusters like Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm. In versions 2.0.0rc2 and above, prior to 3.3.0, the environment variables (KERNEL_XXX) used during the rendering of the Kubernetes manifest are vulnerable to Server Side Template Injection (SSTI). By including Jinja2 template expressions it is possible to execution Python code and OS Commands in the Enterprise Gateway service. The code can use or steal the Kubernetes service account token, which can steal Kubernetes secrets and be used to fully compromise the Kubernetes cluster by scheduling a privileged pod or a pod with a hostPath volume mount. This issue has been fixed in version 3.3.0.

Jul 16, 2026Jupyter Enterprise Gateway launches remote Jupyter Notebook kernels across distributed clusters like Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm.CVE-2026-44180 · Other software · jupyter-server · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8
Jupyter Enterprise Gateway launches remote Jupyter Notebook kernels across distributed clusters like Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm. Versions 2.0.0rc1 and above prior to 3.3.0 have a prohibited UID and GID feature that by default prevents launching kernels with UID or GID 0 (root), and this restriction can be bypassed using a specially crafted KERNEL_UID or KERNEL_GID value. This input validation vulnerability allows running Jupyter kernels as root, which can be dangerous as it allows more attack surface, and may lead to container escapes, compromising the worker node and all workloads running on it. Repeated exploitation can compromise all worker nodes, and thus the entire Kubernetes cluster. It is possible to specify volume mounts, so one vector for a container escape is to use a hostPath R/W volume mount, use this UID/GID bypass to run as root, and then gain code execution in the underlying worker node by creating a crontab entry in the mounted host file system. This issue has been fixed in version 3.0.0.

Jul 13, 2026HedgeDoc is an open source, real-time collaborative markdown notes application.CVE-2026-58489 · Other software · hedgedoc · reported by GitHubMedium 6.8
HedgeDoc is an open source, real-time collaborative markdown notes application. Prior to 1.11.0, the GitHub Gist export flow created an OAuth2 state value but only checked that it was present rather than validating it against the value expected for the user's session. Because the state was not properly validated, an attacker could forge a callback URL containing their own valid GitHub OAuth code. When processing the callback, HedgeDoc used the victim's logged-in session to select which note to export, but the attacker's authorization code to determine which GitHub account received it. As a result, a logged-in victim who clicked a crafted link could export their own private, protected, or limited note directly into a Gist controlled by the attacker. This issue has been fixed in version 1.11.0.

Jul 13, 2026HedgeDoc is an open source, real-time, collaborative, markdown notes application.CVE-2026-58486 · Other software · hedgedoc · reported by GitHubHigh 8.3
HedgeDoc is an open source, real-time, collaborative, markdown notes application. Prior to version 1.11.0, HedgeDoc was vulnerable to a YAML alias bomb due to unsafe processing of the note frontmatter. HedgeDoc parsed frontmatter with js-yaml.load (js-yaml v3) via @hedgedoc/meta-marked, which resolved YAML anchor aliases. A compact malicious payload could therefore expand into a huge object structure, consuming excessive CPU. This expansion ran on every request to the publish view (/s/<shortid>) and, when placed under the opengraph key, the editor view (/<noteId>). A ten-level alias bomb could block the single Node.js event loop for roughly 235 seconds per request, causing concurrent requests to hang or drop and rendering the instance unavailable (DoS). Because the note was stored in the database, the impact survived process restarts until the note was removed. toobusy-js did not reliably mitigate the worst cases, as the event loop was saturated before the middleware could respond. This issue was fixed in version 1.11.0.

Jul 13, 2026HedgeDoc is an open source, real-time, collaborative, markdown notes application.CVE-2026-58488 · Other software · hedgedoc · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9
HedgeDoc is an open source, real-time, collaborative, markdown notes application. Versions prior to 1.11.0 allowed attackers to circumvent the rate-limiting of the /login and /register routes by spoofing IP addresses. HedgeDoc instances checked for CloudFlare's cf-connecting-ip header and used that instead of the users real IP address, if the header was present even when the request did not originate from Cloudflare. This made it possible for an attacker to spam login requests or create multiple arbitrary accounts by sending another cf-connecting-ip header every few requests. The issue has been fixed in version 1.11.0.

Jul 13, 2026HedgeDoc is an open source, real-time, collaborative, markdown notes application.CVE-2026-58487 · Other software · hedgedoc · reported by GitHubMedium 5.1
HedgeDoc is an open source, real-time, collaborative, markdown notes application. Prior to version 1.11.0, due to unsafe handling of the local-part of registered email addresses, HedgeDoc was vulnerable to stored HTML Injection through its publish and slide views. An attacker could register a specially crafted email address and inject arbitrary HTML into pages viewed by other users. HedgeDoc accepted RFC 5321 quoted-string local-parts in email addresses during registration. The local-part was then reused as the user's display name without escaping and rendered into HTML in multiple places, including publish and slide views as well as the collaborative editor. An attacker could break out of an HTML attribute and inject arbitrary markup into the page. While the deployed Content-Security-Policy prevented straightforward inline JavaScript execution, the injected HTML was still sufficient to alter page content and embed attacker-controlled resources such as cross-origin iframes. This issue was fixed in version 1.11.0.
