  • Sep 26, 2026Froxlor through 2.3.10 does not enforce the mail.allow_external_domains policy in the EmailSender.add API command.CVE-2026-100718 · Other software · froxlor · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.1

Froxlor through 2.3.10 does not enforce the mail.allow_external_domains policy in the EmailSender.add API command. When an administrator has enabled the allowed-sender feature but disabled external allowed-sender domains (mail.enable_allow_sender = 1, mail.allow_external_domains = 0), an authenticated customer with API access can still use EmailSender.add to register an arbitrary external sender address for their mailbox, which is stored despite the policy. This creates a bypass between the UI/administrator configuration and the API, and — where the generated mail configuration consumes the allowed-sender table — allows a customer to authorize sender identities outside their hosted domains, facilitating sender spoofing. Fixed in 2.3.12.

  • Sep 26, 2026Nodemailer versions 5.0.0 through 10.0.1 use a process-global DNS cache that is keyed only by the DNS host, while each cache entry also stores the caller-specifCVE-2026-100701 · Other software · nodemailer · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6

Nodemailer versions 5.0.0 through 10.0.1 use a process-global DNS cache that is keyed only by the DNS host, while each cache entry also stores the caller-specific TLS servername. When two direct TLS/SMTPS transports (secure: true) resolve the same non-IP host with different tls.servername values, the first transport's servername is returned on the cache hit and overwrites the second transport's explicitly configured value, so Nodemailer sends the wrong SNI value and validates the peer certificate against the wrong identity. In multi-tenant services or SNI-routed SMTP gateways, an attacker who can prime the cache can cause a victim transport to connect to the attacker's TLS virtual host and accept the attacker's certificate even with rejectUnauthorized: true, disclosing the victim's SMTP credentials. Fixed in 10.0.2.

  • Sep 26, 2026Nodemailer is a Node.js email-sending library.CVE-2026-100699 · Other software · nodemailer · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.9

Nodemailer is a Node.js email-sending library. In versions >= 9.1.0 and < 10.0.9, the address parser (src/addressparser) mishandles addresses whose local-part is a quoted string and that are followed by RFC 5322 comments, allowing trailing comment-separated domain atoms to be retained in the normalized address. For example, the input "user"@example.com(x)evil.com is parsed to the address value 'user@example.com evil.com', which contains additional attacker-controlled domain text separated by a literal space. This parsed value is used without further strict recipient validation when the message envelope is built (envelope.to in src/mime-node), so a malformed/ambiguous recipient address can be accepted and placed in the SMTP envelope. Whether this results in delivery to an unintended recipient on real SMTP servers has not been confirmed. The issue is a variant of the RFC 5322 comment parsing problem addressed in GHSA-cc9r-2j5m-2m83, affecting the separate quoted-local-part code path. Version 10.0.9 contains a fix.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hinic: fix mailbox segment buffer overflow check_mbox_seq_id_and_seg_len() validates CVE-2026-97957 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hinic: fix mailbox segment buffer overflow check_mbox_seq_id_and_seg_len() validates that seq_id does not exceed SEQ_ID_MAX_VAL (42) and seg_len does not exceed MBOX_SEG_LEN (48). However, this allows the last segment (seq_id=42) to carry a full 48-byte payload, writing to offset 42*48=2016 for 48 bytes (ending at byte 2064). The receive buffer is only MBOX_MAX_BUF_SZ (2048) bytes, resulting in a 16-byte heap buffer overflow. The hinic3 driver already handles this correctly by defining MBOX_LAST_SEG_MAX_LEN and rejecting the last segment when it exceeds the remaining buffer space. Apply the same fix to the hinic driver.

  • Sep 24, 2026Mailspring is a fast, cross-platform, open-source email client.CVE-2026-93405 · Other software · Foundry376 · reported by GitHubMedium 6.1

Mailspring is a fast, cross-platform, open-source email client. Prior to 1.17.0, attachment quick preview converts Markdown, DOCX, and XLSX attachments with Snarkdown, Mammoth, and SheetJS and inserts the resulting HTML into the preview document through innerHTML without sanitization. A remote sender can craft a supported attachment whose converted HTML executes script when a recipient opens quick preview. The preview renderer has no direct Node or Electron access, but injected script can reach the IPC surface exposed to the quick-preview renderer. This issue alone provides script execution in the preview renderer; separate path-traversal and renderer-controlled file-write vulnerabilities are required for the documented persistent code-execution chain. This issue is fixed in version 1.17.0.

zbateson/mail-mime-parser is a mail mime parser alternative to PHP's imap* functions and Pear libraries for reading messages in Internet Message Format RFC 822. Starting in version 2.0.0 and prior to version 3.0.6 and 4.0.2, an uncontrolled resource consumption / algorithmic complexity vulnerability (CWE-400) affects any application that parses untrusted email with this library. Three independent parsing paths are super-linear in cost, so a byte-size cap on the caller side does **not** bound the work done. A crafted message under 2 MB can consume seconds of CPU or hundreds of megabytes to multiple gigabytes of memory (leading to an out-of-memory kill), enabling denial of service. The parse is lazy, but the cost is paid on the first `getAllParts()` or content read. This is fxed in 4.0.2 and 3.0.6. The fixes add configurable limits on multipart nesting depth and on header count / total header size (recording a parse error past the threshold rather than throwing), and change sibling append to O(n). Users should upgrade to one of these (or later) versions. Versions 2.x are also affected but are end-of-life and will not receive patches; users on those lines should upgrade to a fixed re

zbateson/mail-mime-parser is a mail mime parser alternative to PHP's imap* functions and Pear libraries for reading messages in Internet Message Format RFC 822. Prior to version 3.0.6 and 4.0.2, CRLF (carriage-return / line-feed) header injection (CWE-93) affecting any application that uses this library to build or forward MIME messages with an attacker-influenced attachment filename. Attachment filenames are interpolated into the `Content-Type` and `Content-Disposition` header values without stripping CR/LF, so a filename containing `\r\n` serializes as one or more additional, attacker-controlled header lines (for example a forged `Bcc:` that silently exfiltrates a copy of the outgoing message). The untrusted filename can come directly from parsed inbound mail, so no local construction is required — an application that re-attaches or re-sends a parsed filename is exposed. Versions 3.0.6 and 4.0.2 patch the issue. Versions 1.x and 2.x are also affected but are end-of-life and will not receive patches; users on those lines should upgrade to a fixed release. • Sep 23, 2026A server-side request forgery flaw was found in the Ansible Automation Platform automation-controller email notification backend.CVE-2026-84721 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 6.4

A server-side request forgery flaw was found in the Ansible Automation Platform automation-controller email notification backend. The email backend passes the user-supplied SMTP host and port from a notification template directly to the SMTP client without validating that the target is not an internal, loopback, link-local, or reserved address. An authenticated user with organization notification-admin permission can create or modify an email notification template pointing at an arbitrary internal address, trigger a test, and have the controller task process open a raw TCP connection to that address. The resulting connection error is reflected back through the notification record, providing a three-state internal port-scan oracle (open, closed, filtered) over the control-plane's cluster network, including the in-cluster Kubernetes API. When a shared organization template holds a stored SMTP password, redirecting the host can also cause that credential to be transmitted to an attacker-controlled server.

  • Sep 22, 2026MISP contains a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the admin email composition screen.CVE-2026-95682 · Other software · MISP · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 4.8

MISP contains a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the admin email composition screen. The MISP.org organization name setting was interpolated directly into a JavaScript string literal using an unescaped PHP echo: var org = "<?php echo $org;?>";. Because the value was placed inside a double-quoted JavaScript string without any encoding, an organization name containing a double-quote character (or a backslash) could terminate the string literal and inject arbitrary JavaScript into the page. The injected script would execute in the context of any authenticated user who subsequently loads the admin email page, potentially allowing session hijacking, data exfiltration, or privileged actions performed on behalf of the victim. Exploitation requires the ability to set or modify the MISP.org organization name and a second authenticated user visiting the affected admin email view. The vulnerability is a classic instance of insufficient output encoding in a JavaScript context.

Email::Sender::Transport::Sendmail versions before 2.602 for Perl allow arbitrary command execution on Windows sending a message whose envelope address reaches the shell in _sendmail_pipe. On MSWin32 the envelope sender and every recipient go into a single command string, which open() passes to a shell. Every other platform gets the list form, which runs sendmail directly. When the caller supplies no envelope, Email::Sender::Simple takes the recipients from the To and Cc headers and the sender from the From header. • Sep 21, 2026The Intel SEDI IPM (inter-processor mailbox) driver in drivers/ipm/ipm_sedi.c handles an inbound message interrupt in ipm_event_dispose().CVE-2026-17051 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 6

The Intel SEDI IPM (inter-processor mailbox) driver in drivers/ipm/ipm_sedi.c handles an inbound message interrupt in ipm_event_dispose(). It read the peer-written doorbell register, extracted the payload length with IPC_HEADER_GET_LENGTH(), and passed that length straight to sedi_ipc_read_msg() to copy the message into struct ipm_sedi_context.incoming_data_buf, without checking it against the buffer size. The doorbell length field is 10 bits wide (IPC_HEADER_LENGTH_MASK is 0x03FF), so it can encode up to 1023 bytes, while incoming_data_buf is IPC_DATA_LEN_MAX (128) bytes. The bounds check in the underlying HAL sedi_ipc_read_msg() is a DBG_CHECK that compiles away unless CONFIG_DEBUG is set, so no check remained in a production image. The doorbell register is written by the peer processor on the other side of the IPC link — for the intel_ish_5_* targets, the host CPU's ISH driver, reached through the device's memory-mapped register window. Host-side software with driver-level or raw BAR access can therefore set a length of up to 1023 and cause the interrupt handler to copy far past the destination buffer. The affected path requires an application to have registered an IPM receive

Mailu is a mail server distributed as a set of Docker images. From Mailu 2.0 until 2024.06.55 and prior to Mailu helm-charts 2.7.3, deployments with PROXY_AUTH_WHITELIST configured but REAL_IP_HEADER unset trusted a client-controlled X-Forwarded-By header for header-based proxy authentication. The proxy_hide_header directive in the nginx template at core/nginx/conf/proxy.conf hid the header from upstream responses but did not overwrite the incoming request value in this configuration. The Newsletter – Send awesome emails from WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the 'nn' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 9.3.8 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. Successful exploitation requires the victim to be a logged-in administrator, as the antibot check auto-passes for authenticated users, routing the unsanitized payload through the administrator-visible output branch of dienow().

  • Sep 17, 2026FairEmail is a fully featured, open source, privacy-friendly email app for Android.CVE-2026-54521 · Other software · M66B · reported by GitHubMedium 6.1

FairEmail is a fully featured, open source, privacy-friendly email app for Android. Prior to 1.2319, the ActivityAMP AMP message renderer in app/src/main/java/eu/faircode/email/ActivityAMP.java enables JavaScript in its WebView but incompletely sanitizes untrusted message HTML. For non-allowlisted hosts, script.removeAttr("src") leaves inline script elements in the document and does not reject event-handler attributes or javascript: URLs on other elements. A crafted AMP email can execute arbitrary JavaScript when a recipient opens the message and enables the AMP toggle. The script can read the message DOM, exfiltrate message data, and display phishing overlays within the message-body area. Exploitation requires the recipient to enable the AMP toggle, and practical exposure is reduced because AMP email is uncommon. This issue is fixed in version 1.2319.

punchin-email is a Cloudflare Email Worker that provides two-way role aliases while relaying mail to a private inbox. Prior to 1.5.0, handleInbound delivers inbound alias mail with message.forward(), which silently drops the added Reply-To header intended to route responses through the relay. When a correspondent sends mail to an alias and the operator replies, the mail client can send directly to the correspondent from the private FORWARD_TO inbox address, exposing that address. The disclosure is limited to the operator's own email address and does not expose third-party data or provide code execution or authentication bypass. This issue is fixed in version 1.5.0.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl/mbox: Clamp mailbox output allocation to the payload size CXL_MEM_SEND_COMMAND bounds the user's in.size to the mailbox payload size but leaves out.size unbounded, then cxl_mbox_cmd_ctor() calls kvzalloc(out.size). A large out.size drives a huge allocation, above INT_MAX it WARNs and taints, and with panic_on_warn=1 it panics. The transport __cxl_pci_mbox_send_cmd() already clamps the response copy to min(out.size, payload_size, device len), so the output buffer is never written beyond payload_size. Clamp the allocation to payload_size too, matching the RAW path.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mailbox: qcom-cpucp: fix PREEMPT_RT self-deadlock in IRQ handler qcom_cpucp_mbox_irq_fn() calls mbox_chan_received_data() while holding chan->lock. Under PREEMPT_RT, spin_lock_irqsave() is converted to an rt_spinlock (rtmutex-based), which tracks ownership and can sleep. The callback chain triggered by mbox_chan_received_data() eventually reaches mailbox_clear_channel() -> mbox_send_message() -> add_to_rbuf(), which attempts to re-acquire the same chan->lock. Since rtmutex detects the re-entrant lock attempt by the same owner, the thread blocks waiting for a lock it already holds, causing a permanent deadlock. This deadlock manifests as 'irq/N-apss_cpucp_mbox' stuck in D state with the following call trace: rt_spin_lock -> mbox_send_message -> mailbox_clear_channel -> scmi_rx_callback -> mbox_chan_received_data [<- held chan->lock here] Fix by saving chan->cl locally and clearing the HW interrupt register inside the lock, then invoking mbox_chan_received_data() after releasing the lock. This preserves the mutual exclusion for chan->cl access while avoiding the lock re-entrancy that causes the PREEMPT_RT de

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mailbox: qcom-cpucp: handle NULL data in send_data callback mailbox_clear_channel() calls mbox_send_message() with NULL data to notify the remote side that the RX channel has been cleared. qcom_cpucp_mbox_send_data() blindly dereferenced the data pointer, causing a NULL pointer dereference kernel panic when invoked from this path under PREEMPT_RT. Add an explicit NULL check and return early without writing to the TX register, which is the correct behaviour for a channel-clear notification.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeontx2-af: fix cn20k mailbox lifetime on repeated rvu_mbox_init() rvu_mbox_init() is called separately for AF-PF mailboxes during probe and for AF-VF mailboxes when SR-IOV is enabled. Each call used to allocate a new ng_rvu object, leaking the first allocation when the pointer was overwritten on the second call. Sharing one ng_rvu across both paths exposed several teardown bugs: the error path freed all cn20k mailbox DMA and kfree()d ng_rvu even when only the failing init type should be unwound, leaving live AF-PF mailbox memory in use after an AF-VF init failure. mutex_init() was also re-run on the AF-VF path while AF-PF mailbox handlers could still hold rvu->mbox_lock. Probe and SR-IOV failure paths did not release cn20k mailbox DMA either, since cleanup only happened in rvu_remove(). Allocate ng_rvu once with devm_kzalloc(), initialize mbox_lock in the same block, unwind only the mailbox memory for the failing init type, and free cn20k mailbox DMA from the probe and pci_enable_sriov() error paths.

WWBN AVideo through commit e01e41ecc (no patched version available) contains a broken access control flaw in objects/userVerifyEmail.php. The script disables the login requirement ($global['ignoreUserMustBeLoggedIn'] = 1), takes users_id directly from the query string, and calls User::sendVerificationLink() with no session requirement, no CSRF/global token, no relationship check between caller and target, and no enforceRateLimit() call. The only intended throttle is keyed to the caller's own session, so cookie-less requests are never limited. An unauthenticated remote attacker can therefore cause an arbitrary number of verification emails to be sent to any account ID, and can enumerate accounts and their verification status from the three distinct JSON responses ("Verification Sent", "Already verified", "Unknown error"). In addition, createVerificationCode() invokes $user->setRecoverPass() and saves the user, so each anonymous request writes a live password-recovery token onto the targeted account; that token is embedded in base64 in the verification link emailed to the account owner and is accepted by objects/userRecoverPassSave.json.php as the credential for setting a new passwor

  • Sep 16, 2026Nodemailer versions >= 6.9.16 and < 9.1.0 mis-parse RFC 5322 comments in email addresses: in lib/addressparser, a comment closed immediately before a non-break CVE-2026-92597 · Other software · nodemailer · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.3

Nodemailer versions >= 6.9.16 and < 9.1.0 mis-parse RFC 5322 comments in email addresses: in lib/addressparser, a comment closed immediately before a non-break character causes the tokenizer to concatenate the atoms surrounding the comment instead of treating the comment as folding whitespace that terminates the domain. A recipient address such as user@good-corp.com(x)evil.com is therefore read by Nodemailer as the single domain good-corp.comevil.com (registrable domain comevil.com, which an attacker can register) and used for both the SMTP envelope (RCPT TO) and the emitted To:/From: headers, while a conformant RFC 5322 parser terminates the domain at the comment and reads good-corp.com. An application that validates the recipient domain with a strict RFC 5322 parser (without inspecting parse defects) or a naive prefix/substring allow-list and then hands the raw address to Nodemailer can be induced to deliver mail to a domain the attacker controls. Fixed in 9.1.0.
