  • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ata: libata-core: Reject an invalid concurrent positioning ranges count ata_dev_config_cprCVE-2026-72030 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ata: libata-core: Reject an invalid concurrent positioning ranges count ata_dev_config_cpr() takes the number of range descriptors from buf[0] of the concurrent positioning ranges log (up to 255), which the device reports independently of the log size in the GPL directory. The count is then walked at a fixed 32-byte stride in two places with no bound: the log read here, and the INQUIRY VPD page B9h emitter, which writes one descriptor per range into the fixed 2048-byte ata_scsi_rbuf. A device reporting a count larger than its own log overflows the read buffer (up to 7704 bytes past a 512-byte slab), and a count above 62 overflows the response buffer on the emit side. Bound the count once, on probe, against both the log the device returned and the number of descriptors the VPD B9h response buffer can hold (ATA_DEV_MAX_CPR, derived from the rbuf size). Reject an out-of-range count with a warning; this keeps the emitter in bounds with no separate change there.

  • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/monwriter: Reject buffer reuse with different data length When data buffers are reuseCVE-2026-72025 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/monwriter: Reject buffer reuse with different data length When data buffers are reused, e.g. for interval sample records, the first record determines the data length, and the size of the buffer for user copy. Current monwriter code does not check if the data length was changed for subsequent records, which also would never happen for valid user programs. However, a malicious user could change the data length, resulting in out of bounds user copy to the kernel buffer, and memory corruption. By default, the monwriter misc device is created with root-only permissions, so practical impact is typically low. Fix this by checking for changed data length and rejecting such records.

  • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drbd: reject data replies with an out-of-range payload size recv_dless_read() receives a PCVE-2026-72014 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drbd: reject data replies with an out-of-range payload size recv_dless_read() receives a P_DATA_REPLY from a peer into the bio of an outstanding read request. The peer-supplied payload length reaches it as the signed int data_size, and two peer-controlled inputs can make it negative. With a negotiated data-integrity-alg the digest length is subtracted first, so a reply whose payload is smaller than the digest underflows data_size. With no integrity algorithm (the default) data_size is assigned from the unsigned h95/h100 wire length and drbdd() never bounds it for a payload-carrying command, so a length above INT_MAX casts it negative; this path needs no non-default feature. The bio receive loop then computes expect = min_t(int, data_size, bv_len), which is negative, and drbd_recv_all_warn(mapped, expect) receives with a size_t of SIZE_MAX into the first mapped page. The sibling receive path read_in_block() is not affected: it uses an unsigned size and rejects it against DRBD_MAX_BIO_SIZE before receiving. Reject a data reply whose size is negative after the optional digest subtraction, covering both triggers. I

  • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: memstick: ms_block: reject a card that reports too many blocks msb_ftl_initialize() computCVE-2026-68478 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: memstick: ms_block: reject a card that reports too many blocks msb_ftl_initialize() computes the zone count from the card block count with no bound: msb->zone_count = msb->block_count / MS_BLOCKS_IN_ZONE; ... for (i = 0; i < msb->zone_count; i++) msb->free_block_count[i] = MS_BLOCKS_IN_ZONE; msb->block_count is a card value. msb_read_boot_blocks() reads number_of_blocks from the card boot page and byte swaps it. free_block_count is a fixed int[MS_MAX_ZONES]. MS_MAX_ZONES is 16, so the valid indices are 0 to 15. The init loop above indexes it by zone_count. msb_mark_block_used() and msb_mark_block_unused() index it by pba / MS_BLOCKS_IN_ZONE, for pba up to block_count - 1. A card may report up to 65535 blocks. A block_count above 8192 (MS_MAX_ZONES * MS_BLOCKS_IN_ZONE) lets the pba index reach 16. That writes past free_block_count[] and corrupts struct msb_data. A larger count runs the init loop past the end too. A real Memory Stick has at most 16 zones. So it has at most 8192 blocks. msb_ftl_initialize() now rejects a card that reports more than MS_MAX_ZONES * MS_BLOCKS_IN_ZONE blocks.

  • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject negative const offsets for buffer pointers The verifier rejects variable offseCVE-2026-68462 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject negative const offsets for buffer pointers The verifier rejects variable offsets for PTR_TO_TP_BUFFER and PTR_TO_BUF accesses, but it currently accepts a constant negative offset produced by pointer arithmetic. Commit 022ac0750883 ("bpf: use reg->var_off instead of reg->off for pointers") moved constant pointer offsets from reg->off to reg->var_off. However, __check_buffer_access() continued to check only the instruction offset. An access with reg->var_off equal to -8 and an instruction offset of zero therefore passes verification. For writable raw tracepoints, the access end is also calculated from the unsigned reg->var_off.value. An eight-byte access starting at -8 wraps the calculated end to zero, allowing the program to load and attach without increasing max_tp_access. After ensuring that reg->var_off is constant, calculate the effective access start using signed arithmetic and reject it when it is negative. Use the validated start to calculate the access end for both PTR_TO_TP_BUFFER and PTR_TO_BUF.

  • Aug 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vc4: Prevent shader BO mappings from becoming writable vc4_gem_object_mmap() rejects aCVE-2026-68445 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vc4: Prevent shader BO mappings from becoming writable vc4_gem_object_mmap() rejects a writable mapping of a validated shader BO, but leaves VM_MAYWRITE set. Userspace can map the BO read-only and then turn it writable with mprotect(). Validated shader BOs must stay read-only: the validator checks the instructions once and the GPU trusts them afterwards. A writable mapping lets userspace rewrite the code after validation, bypassing the validator. Clear VM_MAYWRITE on the read-only path so the mapping cannot be upgraded, as i915 already does for its read-only objects.

  • Aug 10, 2026The webhook URL validator in `website/notifications/webhooks.py` uses `ip.is_global` to reject non-public addresses after DNS resolution.CVE-2026-72761 · Other software · vulnerability-lookup · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 6.9

The webhook URL validator in `website/notifications/webhooks.py` uses `ip.is_global` to reject non-public addresses after DNS resolution. IPv6 transition addresses (NAT64 `64:ff9b::/96`, 6to4 `2002::/16`, Teredo `2001:0000::/32`) are classified as globally routable by IANA, so `is_global` returns `True` even when the embedded IPv4 targets a private, loopback, or cloud metadata destination. An attacker can register a webhook pointing at a hostname that resolves to a transition address to bypass the SSRF guard and exfiltrate vulnerability data to an internal endpoint. The vulnerability was introduced on a non-release version. The fix was already done on HEAD. It only affects organisation running the HEAD.

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: reject optional IPTFS templates in outbound policies syzbot reported a stack-out-of-CVE-2026-68420 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: reject optional IPTFS templates in outbound policies syzbot reported a stack-out-of-bounds read in xfrm_state_find() which flows from xfrm_tmpl_resolve_one(). Commit 3d776e31c841 ("xfrm: Reject optional tunnel/BEET mode templates in outbound policies") disallowed optional tunnel and BEET in outbound policies to prevent this. Later when IPTFS added, it was not covered by that fix and can still trigger the out-of-bounds read; Extend the check to disallow optional IPTFS in outbound policies as well. IPTFS should be identical to tunnel mode. IN and FWD policies are not affected: xfrm_tmpl_resolve_one() is only reachable via the outbound path. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: atm: ueagle-atm: reject descriptors that confuse probe and disconnect uea_probe() distinguishes a pre-firmware device from a post-firmware one using the USB id (UEA_IS_PREFIRM()), and stores a different object as the interface data in each case: a 'struct completion' for a pre-firmware device (to be waited on in .disconnect()), or a 'struct usbatm_data' for a post-firmware one. uea_disconnect() instead tells the two apart by the number of interfaces of the active configuration (a pre-firmware device exposes a single interface, ADI930 has 2 and eagle has 3), and casts the interface data accordingly. Because the two handlers use different criteria, a crafted device that advertises a pre-firmware id together with a multi-interface descriptor (or a post-firmware id with a single interface) makes them disagree: the small 'struct completion' stored by uea_probe() is then passed to usbatm_usb_disconnect(), which casts it to 'struct usbatm_data' and takes instance->serialize, reading past the end of the allocation: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in __mutex_lock+0x152a/0x1b80 Read of size 8 at addr ffff8880470

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject redirect helpers without a bpf_net_context The bpf_redirect*() helpers and skb_do_redirect() obtain the per-task bpf_redirect_info via bpf_net_ctx_get_ri(), which dereferences the current->bpf_net_context unconditionally. That context is established on the paths that run tc BPF such as sch_handle_{ingress,egress}(), *except* for the case where {cls,act}_bpf was attached to a proper qdisc. A program running from there reaches the NULL deref in two ways: * It calls bpf_redirect() directly, which dereferences the context at the top of the helper: tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: red limit 1MB min 10KB max 20KB \ avpkt 1000 burst 100 qevent early_drop block 10 tc filter add block 10 pref 1 bpf obj redirect.o * It simply returns TC_ACT_REDIRECT without helper call: tcf_qevent_handle() then dispatches to skb_do_redirect(), which dereferences the context Rather than extending bpf_net_context management into the qdisc path, make the redirect helpers refuse to operate when no context exists, and have tcf_qevent_handle() drop a TC_ACT_REDIRECT verdict instead of calling skb_do_redi

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: Reject monmaps advertising zero monitors A message of type CEPH_MSG_MON_MAP contaCVE-2026-68155 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: Reject monmaps advertising zero monitors A message of type CEPH_MSG_MON_MAP contains a monmap that is sent from a monitor to the client. This monmap contains information about the existing monitors in the cluster. Currently, a monmap indicating that there are zero monitors in the cluster is treated as valid. However, it is impossible to have zero monitors in the cluster and still receive a valid monmap from a monitor. Therefore, such a monmap must be corrupted and should be treated as invalid. Furthermore, a monmap with a monitor count of zero can subsequently crash the client when attempting to open a session with a monitor in __open_session(). This happens because the "BUG_ON(monc->monmap->num_mon < 1)" assertion in pick_new_mon() is triggered. This patch extends a check in ceph_monmap_decode() to also reject arriving mon_maps with num_mon == 0 rather than only with num_mon > CEPH_MAX_MON. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: reject zero bucket types in crush_decode CRUSH bucket type 0 is reserved for devices. The mapper relies on that invariant and uses type 0 to identify leaf devices. If crush_decode() accepts a bucket with type 0, a malformed CRUSH map can make the mapper treat a negative bucket ID as a device and pass it to is_out(), which then indexes the OSD weight array with a negative value. Reject zero bucket types while decoding the CRUSH map so the invalid state never reaches the mapper.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mac802154: llsec: reject frames shorter than the authentication tag llsec_do_decrypt_auth() computes the associated-data length for the AEAD request as assoclen += datalen - authlen; where datalen is the number of bytes after the MAC header and authlen (4, 8 or 16) is the length of the authentication tag. Nothing verifies that the frame actually carries at least authlen payload bytes. A secured frame whose payload is shorter than the tag makes datalen - authlen negative; assoclen is then passed to aead_request_set_ad() as an unsigned value close to 4 GiB, so crypto_aead_decrypt() walks far off the end of the scatterlist that only spans the real frame. The frame is fully attacker-controlled and reaches this path from any IEEE 802.15.4 peer in radio range. Reject frames whose payload is shorter than the authentication tag before the subtraction. Dynamically reproduced on a KASAN kernel as a general-protection-fault in the AEAD scatterwalk, and the fix confirmed.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: reject mapping a reserved doorbell to a new queue When creating an user-queue, the user space provides a doorbell BO handle and an offset within the bo to obtain a doorbell. However current implementation using xa_store_irq() to store a doorbell, which allows a later queue created with the same BO and offset parameters to overwrite an existing queue and doorbell mapping. This can cause problems like misrouting fence IRQ processing to a wrong queue, and mislead the cleanup process of one queue erasing the mapping of another queue. This commit fixes this issue by replacing xa_store_irq with xa_insert_irq, which rejects mapping a reserved doorbell to a newly created queue (cherry picked from commit 6244eae22966350db52faf9c1369d3b2ffc5de4e)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: reject free space cache with more entries than pages When loading a v1 free space cache, __load_free_space_cache() takes num_entries and num_bitmaps straight from the on-disk btrfs_free_space_header. That header is stored in the tree_root under a key with type 0, which the tree-checker has no case for, so neither count is validated before the load trusts it. The load loops num_entries times and maps the next page whenever the current one runs out, going through io_ctl_check_crc() -> io_ctl_map_page(), which does io_ctl->pages[io_ctl->index++]. But pages[] is allocated in io_ctl_init() from the cache inode's i_size, not from num_entries: num_pages = DIV_ROUND_UP(i_size_read(inode), PAGE_SIZE); io_ctl->pages = kcalloc(num_pages, sizeof(struct page *), GFP_NOFS); So if num_entries claims more records than the pages can hold, io_ctl->index runs off the end of pages[]. The write side never hits this because io_ctl_add_entry() and io_ctl_add_bitmap() both stop once io_ctl->index >= io_ctl->num_pages; the read side just never had the same check. To trigger it, take a clean cache (num_entries = <N> here), se

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: reject overflowing copy + len in bpf_msg_push_data() When the scatterlist ring is full or nearly full, bpf_msg_push_data() enters a copy fallback path and computes copy + len for the page allocation size. Since len comes from BPF with arg3_type = ARG_ANYTHING and both are u32, a crafted len can wrap the sum to a small value, causing an undersized allocation followed by an out-of-bounds memcpy. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bridge: cfm: reject invalid CCM interval at configuration time ccm_tx_work_expired() re-arms itself via queue_delayed_work() using the configured exp_interval converted by interval_to_us(). When exp_interval is BR_CFM_CCM_INTERVAL_NONE or out of range, interval_to_us() returns 0, causing the worker to fire immediately in a tight loop that allocates skbs until OOM. Fix this by validating exp_interval at configuration time: - Constrain IFLA_BRIDGE_CFM_CC_CONFIG_EXP_INTERVAL to the valid range [BR_CFM_CCM_INTERVAL_3_3_MS, BR_CFM_CCM_INTERVAL_10_MIN] in the netlink policy so userspace cannot set an invalid value. - Reject starting CCM TX in br_cfm_cc_ccm_tx() when exp_interval has not yet been configured (defaults to 0 from kzalloc).

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: openvswitch: reject oversized nested action attrs Open vSwitch stores generated flow actions as nlattrs, whose nla_len field is u16. Commit a1e64addf3ff ("net: openvswitch: remove misbehaving actions length check") allowed the total sw_flow_actions stream to grow beyond 64 KiB, which is valid, but also removed the last guard preventing a generated nested action attribute from exceeding U16_MAX. An oversized generated container can thus be closed with a truncated nla_len. A later dump or teardown then walks a structurally different stream than the one that was validated. In particular, an oversized nested CLONE/CT action may cause subsequent bytes in the generated stream to be interpreted as independent actions. Keep the larger total-action-stream behavior, but make nested action close reject generated containers that do not fit in nla_len, and return the error through all callers. For recursive SAMPLE, CLONE, DEC_TTL, and CHECK_PKT_LEN builders, trim resource-owning action-list tails in reverse construction order before discarding failed wrappers, so resources copied into the rejected tails are released be

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipv4: bound TCP reordering sysctl writes and MTU probe sizes Reject invalid `net.ipv4.tcp_reordering` values before they reach TCP socket state. The sysctl is stored as an `int` but copied into the `u32` `tp->reordering` field for new sockets, so negative writes wrap to large values. With `tcp_mtu_probing=2`, the wrapped value can overflow the `tcp_mtu_probe()` size calculation and drive the MTU probing path into an out-of-bounds read. Route `tcp_reordering` writes through `proc_dointvec_minmax()` and require it to be at least 1. Also require `tcp_max_reordering` to be at least 1 so the configured maximum cannot become negative either. When registering the table for a non-init network namespace, relocate `extra2` pointers that refer into `init_net.ipv4` so the `tcp_reordering` upper bound follows that namespace's `tcp_max_reordering`. Harden `tcp_mtu_probe()` itself by computing `size_needed` as `u64`. This keeps the send queue and window checks from being bypassed through signed integer overflow.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject fragmented frames in devmap Devmap broadcast redirects clone the packet for all but the last destination. For native XDP, that clone path copies only the linear xdp_frame data, while fragmented frames keep skb_shared_info in tailroom outside the linear area. Cloning such a frame leaves XDP_FLAGS_HAS_FRAGS set but without valid frag metadata, and the later free path can interpret uninitialized tail data as skb_shared_info, leading to an out-of-bounds access during frame return. Reject fragmented native XDP frames in dev_map_enqueue_clone(). Add the same restriction to the generic XDP clone path in dev_map_redirect_clone(). Generic XDP represents fragmented packets as nonlinear skbs, and rejecting them here keeps clone-based broadcast support aligned between native and generic XDP.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: mms114 - reject an oversized device packet size mms114_interrupt() reads a packet of touch data from the device into a fixed-size on-stack buffer struct mms114_touch touch[MMS114_MAX_TOUCH]; which holds MMS114_MAX_TOUCH (10) events of MMS114_EVENT_SIZE (8) bytes, i.e. 80 bytes. The length of the I2C read into it is taken verbatim from the device: packet_size = mms114_read_reg(data, MMS114_PACKET_SIZE); if (packet_size <= 0) goto out; ... error = __mms114_read_reg(data, MMS114_INFORMATION, packet_size, (u8 *)touch); packet_size is a single device register byte (0x0F) and the only check is the lower bound packet_size <= 0; it is never bounded against the size of touch[]. A malfunctioning, malicious or counterfeit controller (or an attacker tampering with the I2C bus) can report a packet_size of up to 255, so __mms114_read_reg() writes up to 175 bytes past the end of touch[] on the IRQ-thread stack: a stack out-of-bounds write that can overwrite the stack canary, saved registers and the return address. @fastify/static up to and including version 10.1.0 fails to reject dot-dot path segments in request pathnames before the file-resolution stage. This is a bypass of the earlier fix for CVE-2026-6414, which only covered encoded forward slashes. Because the underlying send library normalizes dot segments before applying its own path-traversal guard, an unauthenticated attacker can bypass any route-scoped middleware and read files inside the static root that live under the guarded URL prefix. The bypass does not allow access outside the configured static root by itself, it defeats route-guard filtering only. The issue is patched in @fastify/static 10.1.1.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject BPF_MAP_TYPE_INODE_STORAGE creation if BPF LSM is uninitialized When CONFIG_BPF_LSM=y is set, BPF inode storage maps (BPF_MAP_TYPE_INODE_STORAGE) are compiled into the kernel. However, if the BPF LSM is not explicitly enabled at boot time (e.g. omitted from the "lsm=" boot parameter), lsm_prepare() is never executed for the BPF LSM. Consequently, the BPF inode security blob offset (bpf_lsm_blob_sizes.lbs_inode) is never initialized and remains at its default compiled size of 8 bytes instead of being updated to a valid offset past the reserved struct rcu_head (typically 16 bytes or more). When a privileged user creates and updates a BPF_MAP_TYPE_INODE_STORAGE map, bpf_inode() evaluates inode->i_security + 8. This erroneously aliases the struct rcu_head.func callback pointer at the beginning of the inode->i_security blob. During subsequent map element cleanup or inode destruction, writing NULL to owner_storage clears the queued RCU callback pointer. When rcu_do_batch() later executes the queued callback, it attempts an instruction fetch at address 0x0, triggering an immediate kernel panic. Fix this b

With size = N*PAGE_SIZE + r (1 <= r < PAGE_SIZE), sendmsg() at iov_base = N*PAGE_SIZE passes the bound check and reads tx_vec[N] -- one past. - owner->area.num_niovs = len / PAGE_SIZE while gen_pool_add_owner() covers the full byte len, so a non-page-multiple non-final sg desyncs num_niovs from the gen_pool region for every later sg, on both RX and TX. dma-buf does not require page-aligned sizes, so the bind path has to enforce what its own indexing assumes. Soft-iWARP parses the full header in siw_get_hdr() based on iwarp_pktinfo[opcode] .hdr_len, but never compares mpa_len against that header length. siw_tcp_rx_data() then derives srx->fpdu_part_rem = be16_to_cpu(mpa_len) - fpdu_part_rcvd + MPA_HDR_SIZE; where fpdu_part_rcvd equals iwarp_pktinfo[opcode].hdr_len at this point. For a tagged WRITE (hdr_len 16, MPA_HDR_SIZE 2) the smallest on-wire mpa_len of 0 yields fpdu_part_rem = -14, and any mpa_len below hdr_len - MPA_HDR_SIZE underflows to a negative int. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (pmbus/adm1266) reject short block-read responses in the GPIO accessors adm1266_gpio_get() and adm1266_gpio_get_multiple() both compose the pin-status word as pins_status = read_buf[0] + (read_buf[1] << 8); right after i2c_smbus_read_block_data(), guarding only against an error return. A well-behaved device returns 2 bytes for GPIO_STATUS/PDIO_STATUS, but the helper happily reports a 0- or 1-byte response too. If the device returns 0 bytes, both read_buf slots are uninitialized stack memory; if it returns 1 byte, read_buf[1] is. The composed value then flows through set_bit() into the caller's *bits in adm1266_gpio_get_multiple(), or into the return value of adm1266_gpio_get(), and ends up in userspace via gpiolib (sysfs and the char-dev ioctls). That leaks a few bits of kernel stack per request on any device whose firmware glitch, bus error, or hostile slave produces a short block-read response. Add the missing length check to both call sites and surface a short response as -EIO.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: shaper: reject duplicate leaves in GROUP request net_shaper_nl_group_doit() does not deduplicate NET_SHAPER_A_LEAVES entries. When userspace supplies the same leaf handle twice, the same old-parent pointer lands twice in old_nodes[]. The cleanup loop double frees the parent. Of course the same parent may still be in old_nodes[] twice if we are moving multiple of its leaves. Note that this patch also implicitly fixes the fact that the i >= leaves_count path forgets to set ret.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/smc: reject CHID-0 ACCEPT that matches an empty ism_dev slot On the SMC-D client, slot 0 of ini->ism_dev[]/ini->ism_chid[] is reserved for an SMC-Dv1 device. smc_find_ism_v2_device_clnt() populates V2 entries starting at index 1, so when no V1 device is selected slot 0 is left in its kzalloc()'ed state with ism_dev[0] == NULL and ism_chid[0] == 0. smc_v2_determine_accepted_chid() then matches the peer's CHID against the array starting from index 0 using the CHID alone. A malicious peer replying to a SMC-Dv2-only proposal with d1.chid == 0 matches the empty slot, ini->ism_selected becomes 0, and the subsequent ism_dev[0]->lgr_lock dereference in smc_conn_create() faults at offsetof(struct smcd_dev, lgr_lock) == 0x68: BUG: KASAN: null-ptr-deref in _raw_spin_lock_bh+0x79/0xe0 Write of size 4 at addr 0000000000000068 by task exploit/144 Call Trace: _raw_spin_lock_bh smc_conn_create (net/smc/smc_core.c:1997) __smc_connect (net/smc/af_smc.c:1447) smc_connect (net/smc/af_smc.c:1720) __sys_connect __x64_sys_connect do_syscall_64 Require ism_dev[i] to be non-NULL before accepting a CHID m

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: ucsi: ccg: reject firmware images without a ':' record header do_flash() locates the first .cyacd record with p = strnchr(fw->data, fw->size, ':'); while (p < eof) { s = strnchr(p + 1, eof - p - 1, ':'); ... } If the firmware image contains no ':' byte, strnchr() returns NULL. NULL compares less than the valid kernel pointer eof, so the loop body runs and strnchr() is called with p + 1 == (void *)1 and a length of roughly (unsigned long)eof, causing a wonderful crash. The not_signed_fw fallthrough earlier in do_flash() and the chip-state branches in ccg_fw_update_needed() allow an unsigned blob to reach this loop, so a root user who can place a crafted file under /lib/firmware and write the do_flash sysfs attribute can trigger the oops. Bail out with -EINVAL when the initial strnchr() returns NULL.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: chemical: mhz19b: reject oversized serial replies mhz19b_receive_buf() appends each serdev chunk into the fixed MHZ19B_CMD_SIZE receive buffer and advances buf_idx by len without checking that the chunk fits in the remaining space. Reset the reply state before each command and reject oversized serial replies before copying them into the fixed buffer. When an oversized reply is detected, wake the waiter and report -EMSGSIZE instead of overwriting st->buf.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: property: Reject u32 wrap in tb_property_entry_valid() entry->value is u32 and entry->length is u16; the sum is performed in u32 and wraps. A malicious XDomain peer can pick value = 0xffffff00, length = 0x100 so the sum 0x100000000 wraps to 0 and passes the > block_len check. tb_property_parse() then passes entry->value to parse_dwdata() as a dword offset into the property block, reading attacker-directed memory far past the allocation. For TEXT-typed entries with the "deviceid" or "vendorid" keys this lands in xd->device_name / xd->vendor_name and is readable back via the per-XDomain device_name / vendor_name sysfs attributes; the leak is NUL-bounded (kstrdup() stops at the first zero byte) and untargeted (the attacker picks a delta, not an absolute address). DATA-typed entries are parsed into property->value.data but not generically surfaced to userspace. Use check_add_overflow() so a wrapped sum is rejected.

  • Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: property: Reject dir_len < 4 to prevent size_t underflow On the non-root pathCVE-2026-63892 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: property: Reject dir_len < 4 to prevent size_t underflow On the non-root path, __tb_property_parse_dir() takes dir_len from entry->length (u16 widened to size_t). Two distinct OOB conditions follow when entry->length < 4: 1. The non-root path begins with kmemdup(&block[dir_offset], sizeof(*dir->uuid), ...) which always reads 4 dwords from dir_offset. tb_property_entry_valid() only enforces dir_offset + entry->length <= block_len, so a crafted entry with dir_offset close to the end of the property block and entry->length in 0..3 passes that gate but lets the UUID copy run off the block (e.g. dir_offset = 497, dir_len = 3 in a 500-dword block reads block[497..501]). 2. After the kmemdup, content_len = dir_len - 4 underflows size_t to ~SIZE_MAX, nentries becomes SIZE_MAX / 4, and the entry walk runs OOB on each iteration until an entry fails validation or the kernel oopses on an unmapped page. Reject dir_len < 4 on the non-root path *before* the UUID kmemdup, which closes both holes. Also move INIT_LIST_HEAD(&dir->properties) up to immediately after the dir allocation

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: fcoe: Reject FIP descriptors with zero fip_dlen in CVL walker drivers/scsi/fcoe/fcoe_ctlr.c::fcoe_ctlr_recv_clr_vlink() advanced the descriptor cursor by an attacker-supplied fip_dlen without ever requiring dlen >= sizeof(struct fip_desc) in the default branch. The named descriptor cases (FIP_DT_MAC, FIP_DT_NAME, FIP_DT_VN_ID) checked their per-type minimum lengths, but a FIP_DT_NON_CRITICAL descriptor (fip_dtype >= 128, which the standard requires receivers to silently ignore) skipped that check entirely. An unauthenticated L2 peer on the FCoE control VLAN could hang fcoe_ctlr_recv_work on an fcoe, qedf, or bnx2fc initiator indefinitely by emitting one FIP CVL frame whose single descriptor had fip_dtype == FIP_DT_NON_CRITICAL and fip_dlen == 0: the cursor advanced zero bytes per iteration and the loop condition rlen >= sizeof(*desc) stayed true forever, blocking every subsequent FIP frame on that controller. Tighten the outer dlen guard to also reject dlen < sizeof(struct fip_desc), so a malformed descriptor whose length cannot even cover the descriptor header is rejected before the switch. This is the

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs3: reject direct userspace writes to reserved $LX* xattrs NTFS3 uses $LXUID, $LXGID, $LXMOD and $LXDEV as internal WSL permission metadata and reloads them into i_uid, i_gid and i_mode from ntfs_get_wsl_perm(). Because the empty-prefix xattr handler also lets file owners call setxattr() on these names directly, an unprivileged writer on a writable ntfs3 mount can plant root ownership and S_ISUID on their own file and gain euid 0 after inode reload. Reject direct userspace writes to the reserved $LX* names. Internal ntfs3 metadata updates are unchanged because ntfs_save_wsl_perm() writes them via ntfs_set_ea() directly. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: reject oversized group bitmap descriptors ocfs2_validate_gd_parent() only bounds bg_bits against the parent allocator's chain geometry. A malicious descriptor can still claim a bg_size/bg_bits pair that exceeds the bitmap bytes that physically fit in the group descriptor block, so later bitmap scans and bit updates can run past bg_bitmap. Add a physical-cap check based on ocfs2_group_bitmap_size() for the parent allocator type and reject descriptors whose bg_size or bg_bits exceed that capacity. Keep the existing chain geometry check so both the on-disk bitmap layout and the allocator metadata must agree before the descriptor is used. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSv4/flexfiles: reject zero filehandle version count ff_layout_alloc_lseg() decodes the filehandle-version array count from the flexfiles layout body. The value is used as the count for kzalloc_objs(), and the current code only rejects NULL. A zero count yields ZERO_SIZE_PTR, which can be stored in dss_info->fh_versions even though later flexfiles paths assume that at least one filehandle version exists. Reject fh_count == 0 before the allocation, matching the existing zero version_count validation in the flexfiles GETDEVICEINFO parser. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSv4/pNFS: reject zero-length r_addr in nfs4_decode_mp_ds_addr nfs4_decode_mp_ds_addr() decodes the r_netid and r_addr opaques of a netaddr4 from a GETDEVICEINFO multipath-DS body, then immediately calls strrchr(buf, '.') to locate the port separator. Both decodes use xdr_stream_decode_string_dup(), and the current code checks only "nlen < 0" / "rlen < 0" before dereferencing the returned string. When the on-wire opaque has length zero, xdr_stream_decode_opaque_inline() returns 0 and xdr_stream_decode_string_dup() falls through to its "*str = NULL; return ret" tail, leaving buf NULL with a return value of 0. The "< 0" check does not catch this, and the next line is strrchr(NULL, '.'), a kernel NULL pointer dereference reachable from any pNFS-flexfile client mounted against a malicious or compromised metadata server. Reject the zero-length cases explicitly so the decoder fails with -EBADMSG (treated as a malformed GETDEVICEINFO body) instead of panicking the client.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: reject non-VALID session in compound request branch smb2_check_user_session() takes a shortcut for any operation that is not the first in a COMPOUND request: it reuses work->sess (the session bound by the first operation) and validates only the SessionId, then returns "valid". It never re-checks work->sess->state == SMB2_SESSION_VALID, and a SessionId of 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF (ULLONG_MAX, the MS-SMB2 related-operation value) skips even the id comparison. The standalone path (ksmbd_session_lookup_all() plus the SESSION_SETUP state machine) does enforce the VALID state; the compound branch bypasses all of it. A SESSION_SETUP carrying only an NTLM Type-1 (NtLmNegotiate) blob publishes a fresh SMB2_SESSION_IN_PROGRESS session whose sess->user is still NULL (->user is assigned later, by ntlm_authenticate()). Used as operation 1 of a COMPOUND with operation 2 = TREE_CONNECT (related, SessionId=ULLONG_MAX, \\host\IPC$), the tree-connect then runs on that IN_PROGRESS session and reaches ksmbd_ipc_tree_connect_request(), which dereferences user_name(sess->user) with sess->user == NULL (transport_ipc.c:687/701/704) ->
