In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ublk: make sure ubq->canceling is set when queue is frozen Now ublk driver depends on `ubq->canceling` for deciding if the request can be dispatched via uring_cmd & io_uring_cmd_complete_in_task(). Once ubq->canceling is set, the uring_cmd can be done via ublk_cancel_cmd() and io_uring_cmd_done(). So set ubq->canceling when queue is frozen, this way makes sure that the flag can be observed from ublk_queue_rq() reliably, and avoids use-after-free on uring_cmd.

  • Jan 21, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: virtio-blk: don't keep queue frozen during system suspend Commit 4ce6e2db00de ("virtio-blkCVE-2024-57946 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: virtio-blk: don't keep queue frozen during system suspend Commit 4ce6e2db00de ("virtio-blk: Ensure no requests in virtqueues before deleting vqs.") replaces queue quiesce with queue freeze in virtio-blk's PM callbacks. And the motivation is to drain inflight IOs before suspending. block layer's queue freeze looks very handy, but it is also easy to cause deadlock, such as, any attempt to call into bio_queue_enter() may run into deadlock if the queue is frozen in current context. There are all kinds of ->suspend() called in suspend context, so keeping queue frozen in the whole suspend context isn't one good idea. And Marek reported lockdep warning[1] caused by virtio-blk's freeze queue in virtblk_freeze(). [1] https://lore.kernel.org/linux-block/ca16370e-d646-4eee-b9cc-87277c89c43c@samsung.com/ Given the motivation is to drain in-flight IOs, it can be done by calling freeze & unfreeze, meantime restore to previous behavior by keeping queue quiesced during suspend.

  • Nov 14, 2024zenml-io/zenml version 0.56.4 is vulnerable to an account takeover due to the lack of rate-limiting in the password change function.CVE-2024-4311 · Other software · zenml-io · reported by security@huntr.devMedium 5.4

zenml-io/zenml version 0.56.4 is vulnerable to an account takeover due to the lack of rate-limiting in the password change function. An attacker can brute-force the current password in the 'Update Password' function, allowing them to take over the user's account. This vulnerability is due to the absence of rate-limiting on the '/api/v1/current-user' endpoint, which does not restrict the number of attempts an attacker can make to guess the current password. Successful exploitation results in the attacker being able to change the password and take control of the account.

decidim is a Free Open-Source participatory democracy, citizen participation and open government for cities and organizations. The WYSWYG editor QuillJS is subject to potential XSS attach in case the attacker manages to modify the HTML before being uploaded to the server. The attacker is able to change e.g. to <svg onload=alert('XSS')> if they know how to craft these requests themselves. This issue has been addressed in release version 0.27.7. All users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade should review the user accounts that have access to the admin panel (i.e. general Administrators, and participatory space's Administrators) and remove access to them if they don't need it. Disable the "Enable rich text editor for participants" setting in the admin dashboard

  • Aug 21, 2024Zen Cart findPluginAdminPage Local File Inclusion Remote Code Execution Vulnerability.CVE-2024-5762 · Other software · Zen Cart · reported by zdi-disclosures@trendmicro.comHigh 8.1

Zen Cart findPluginAdminPage Local File Inclusion Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Zen Cart. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the findPluginAdminPage function. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data prior to passing it to a PHP include function. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary code in the context of the service account. Was ZDI-CAN-21408.

Prior to 3385, the user-controlled role parameter enters the application in the Kubernetes::RoleVerificationsController. The role parameter flows into the RoleConfigFile initializer and then into the Kubernetes::Util.parse_file method where it is unsafely deserialized using the YAML.load_stream method. This issue may lead to Remote Code Execution (RCE). This vulnerability is fixed in 3385.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs: don't misleadingly warn during thaw operations The block device may have been frozen before it was claimed by a filesystem. Concurrently another process might try to mount that frozen block device and has temporarily claimed the block device for that purpose causing a concurrent fs_bdev_thaw() to end up here. The mounter is already about to abort mounting because they still saw an elevanted bdev->bd_fsfreeze_count so get_bdev_super() will return NULL in that case. For example, P1 calls dm_suspend() which calls into bdev_freeze() before the block device has been claimed by the filesystem. This brings bdev->bd_fsfreeze_count to 1 and no call into fs_bdev_freeze() is required. Now P2 tries to mount that frozen block device. It claims it and checks bdev->bd_fsfreeze_count. As it's elevated it aborts mounting. In the meantime P3 called dm_resume(). P3 sees that the block device is already claimed by a filesystem and calls into fs_bdev_thaw(). P3 takes a passive reference and realizes that the filesystem isn't ready yet. P3 puts itself to sleep to wait for the filesystem to become ready. P2 now puts the last a

  • Jul 17, 2024Zenon Lite: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2024-5964 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.4

The Zenon Lite theme for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the ‘url’ parameter within the theme's Button shortcode in all versions up to, and including, 1.9 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

A reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was identified in zenml-io/zenml version 0.57.1. The vulnerability exists due to improper neutralization of input during web page generation, specifically within the survey redirect parameter. This flaw allows an attacker to redirect users to a specified URL after completing a survey, without proper validation of the 'redirect' parameter. Consequently, an attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of the user's browser session. This vulnerability could be exploited to steal cookies, potentially leading to account takeover.
