  • Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Avoid NULL return from hist_field_name() on truncation hist_field_name() returns CVE-2026-64028 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Avoid NULL return from hist_field_name() on truncation hist_field_name() returns "" everywhere except the fully-qualified VAR_REF/EXPR case, where snprintf() truncation returns NULL early and bypasses the bottom NULL->"" guard. Callers don't expect NULL: strcat(expr, hist_field_name(field, 0)) at trace_events_hist.c:1758 and the strcmp() in the sort-key match loop at :4804 both deref it. system and event_name are bounded by MAX_EVENT_NAME_LEN, but the field name on a VAR_REF is kstrdup'd from a histogram variable name parsed out of the trigger string and has no length cap, so a long enough var name in a fully qualified reference can reach the truncation path. Keep the length check but leave field_name as "" on overflow.

  • Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: tp_meter: avoid divide-by-zero for dec_cwnd The cwnd is always MSS <= cwnd <= CVE-2026-63836 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: tp_meter: avoid divide-by-zero for dec_cwnd The cwnd is always MSS <= cwnd <= 0x20000000. But the calculation in batadv_tp_update_cwnd() assumes unsigned 32 bit arithmetics. ((mss * 8) ** 2) / (cwnd * 8) In case cwnd is actually 0x20000000, it will be shifted by 3 bit to the left end up at 0x100000000 or U32_MAX + 1. It will therefore wrap around and be 0 - resulting in: ((mss * 8) ** 2) / 0 This is of course invalid and cannot be calculated. The calculation should must be simplified to avoid this overflow: (mss ** 2) * 8 / cwnd It will keep the precision enhancement from the scaling (by 8) but avoid the overflow in the divisor. In theory, there could still be an overflow in the dividend. It is at the moment fixed to BATADV_TP_PLEN in batadv_tp_recv_ack() - so it is not an imminent problem. But allowing it to use the whole u32 bit range, would mean that it can still use up to 67 bits. To keep this calculation safe for 32 bit arithmetic, mss must never use more than floor((32 - 3) / 2) bits - or in other words: must never be larger than 16383.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: Avoid mounting the bdev pseudo-filesystem in userspace The bdev pseudo-filesystem is an internal kernel filesystem with which userspace should not interfere. Unregister it so that userspace cannot even attempt to mount it. This fixes a bug [1] that occurs when attempting to access files, because the system call move_mount() uses pointers declared in the inode_operations structure, which for the bdev pseudo-filesystem are always equal to 0. `inode->i_op = &empty_iops;` [1] BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 #PF: supervisor instruction fetch in kernel mode #PF: error_code(0x0010) - not-present page PGD 23380067 P4D 23380067 PUD 23381067 PMD 0 Oops: 0010 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN NOPTI CPU: 2 PID: 17125 Comm: syz-executor.0 Not tainted 6.1.155-syzkaller-00350-g84221fde2681 #0 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.12.0-1 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:0x0 Call Trace: <TASK> lookup_open.isra.0+0x700/0x1180 fs/namei.c:3460 open_last_lookups fs/namei.c:3550 [inline] path_openat+0x953/0x2700 fs/namei.c:3780 do_filp_open+0x1c5/0x410 fs/namei.c:3810 do_sys_o

  • Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: 9p: avoid putting oldfid in p9_client_walk() error path When p9_client_walk() is called wiCVE-2026-63795 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 10

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: 9p: avoid putting oldfid in p9_client_walk() error path When p9_client_walk() is called with clone set to false, fid aliases oldfid. If the walk subsequently fails after the request has been sent, the error path jumps to clunk_fid, which currently calls p9_fid_put(fid) unconditionally. This drops a reference to oldfid even though ownership of oldfid remains with the caller. If this is the last reference, oldfid can be clunked and destroyed while the caller still expects it to be valid. A later use or put of oldfid can then trigger a use-after-free or refcount underflow. Fix this by only putting fid in the clunk_fid error path when it does not alias oldfid, matching the existing guard in the error path below. This can be triggered when a multi-component walk is split into multiple p9_client_walk() calls and a later non-cloning walk fails. A reproducer and refcount warning logs are available on request.

  • Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: avoid leaking pre-allocated openowner on unconfirmed retry race When find_or_alloc_oCVE-2026-53394 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: avoid leaking pre-allocated openowner on unconfirmed retry race When find_or_alloc_open_stateowner() encounters an unconfirmed owner, it calls release_openowner() and sets oo = NULL. Control then falls through past the `if (oo)` guard -- which would have freed any pre-allocated `new` -- and unconditionally executes `new = alloc_stateowner(...)`. If `new` was already allocated on a prior iteration, the pointer is silently overwritten and the previous allocation (slab object + owner name buffer) is leaked. This requires a race: two NFSv4.0 OPEN threads with the same owner string, where a concurrent thread inserts a new unconfirmed owner into the hash between retry iterations. The window is narrow but repeatable under adversarial conditions. Fix by adding `goto retry` after `oo = NULL` so the already-allocated `new` is reused on the next iteration rather than overwritten.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: slimbus: qcom-ngd-ctrl: Avoid ABBA on tx_lock/ctrl->lock During the SSR/PDR down notification the tx_lock is taken with the intent to provide synchronization with active DMA transfers. But during this period qcom_slim_ngd_down() is invoked, which ends up in slim_report_absent(), which takes the slim_controller lock. • Jun 26, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Avoid NULL dereference in dc_dmub_srv error paths In dc_dmub_srv_log_diagCVE-2026-53313 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Avoid NULL dereference in dc_dmub_srv error paths In dc_dmub_srv_log_diagnostic_data() and dc_dmub_srv_enable_dpia_trace(). Both functions check: if (!dc_dmub_srv || !dc_dmub_srv->dmub) and then call DC_LOG_ERROR() inside that block. DC_LOG_ERROR() uses dc_dmub_srv->ctx internally. So if dc_dmub_srv is NULL, the logging itself can dereference a NULL pointer and cause a crash. Fix this by splitting the checks. First check if dc_dmub_srv is NULL and return immediately. Then check dc_dmub_srv->dmub and log the error only when dc_dmub_srv is valid. Fixes the below: ../display/dc/dc_dmub_srv.c:962 dc_dmub_srv_log_diagnostic_data() error: we previously assumed 'dc_dmub_srv' could be null (see line 961) ../display/dc/dc_dmub_srv.c:1167 dc_dmub_srv_enable_dpia_trace() error: we previously assumed 'dc_dmub_srv' could be null (see line 1166)

  • Jun 26, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/vt-d: Avoid NULL pointer dereference or refcount corruption Commit 60f030f7418d ("ioCVE-2026-53281 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/vt-d: Avoid NULL pointer dereference or refcount corruption Commit 60f030f7418d ("iommu/vt-d: Avoid use of NULL after WARN_ON_ONCE") fixed a NULL pointer dereference in an unlikely situation partly. If dev_pasid is not found in the dev_pasids list, it remains NULL. However, the teardown operations are executed unconditionally, this lead to a NULL pointer dereference or refcount corruption. If the domain was never attached to this IOMMU, info will be NULL, which would cause an immediate dereference when checking --info->refcnt. Even if info is not NULL, decrementing the refcount without having removed a valid PASID might unbalance the count. This could lead to premature dropping of the refcount to 0, potentially causing a use-after-free for the remaining active devices sharing the domain. Fix it by returning early if dev_pasid is NULL, before executing the teardown operations. • Jun 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: x_tables: avoid leaking percpu counter pointers The native and compat get-entriCVE-2026-53219 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: x_tables: avoid leaking percpu counter pointers The native and compat get-entries paths copy the fixed rule entry header from the kernelized rule blob to userspace before overwriting the entry's counter fields with a sanitized counter snapshot. On SMP kernels, entry->counters.pcnt contains the percpu allocation address used by x_tables rule counters. A caller can provide a userspace buffer that faults during the initial fixed-header copy after pcnt has been copied but before the later sanitized counter copy runs. The syscall then returns -EFAULT while leaving the raw percpu pointer in userspace. Copy only the fixed entry prefix before counters from the kernelized rule blob, then copy the sanitized counter snapshot into the counter field. Apply this ordering to the IPv4, IPv6, and ARP native and compat get-entries implementations so a fault cannot expose the internal percpu counter pointer.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iomap: avoid potential null folio->mapping deref during error reporting When a buffered read fails, iomap_finish_folio_read() reports the error with fserror_report_io(folio->mapping->host, ...). This is called after ifs->read_bytes_pending has been decremented by the bytes attempted to be read. For a folio split across multiple read completions, the folio is only guaranteed to stay locked while read_bytes_pending > 0. Once iomap_finish_folio_read() decrements read_bytes_pending, another in-flight read can complete and end the read on the folio, which unlocks it. This allows truncate logic to run and detach the folio (set folio->mapping to NULL). The error reporting path then can dereference a NULL folio->mapping. As reported by Sam Sun, this is the race that can occur: CPU0: failed completion CPU1: final completion CPU2: truncate ----------------------- ---------------------- -------------- read_bytes_pending -= len finished = false /* preempted before fserror_report_io() */ read_bytes_pending -= len finished = true folio_end_read() truncate clears foli

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fwctl: Fix class init ordering to avoid NULL pointer dereference on device removal CXL is linked before fwctl in drivers/Makefile. Both use `module_init, so `cxl_pci_driver_init()` runs first. When `cxl_pci_probe()` calls `fwctl_register()` and then `device_add()`, fwctl_class is not yet registered because fwctl_init() hasn't run, causing `class_to_subsys()` to return NULL and skip knode_class initialization. On device removal, `class_to_subsys()` returns non-NULL, and `device_del()` calls `klist_del()` on the uninitialized knode, triggering a NULL pointer dereference.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: avoid double drm_exec_fini() in userq validate When new_addition is true, amdgpu_userq_vm_validate() calls drm_exec_fini(&exec) before iterating over the collected HMM ranges and calling amdgpu_ttm_tt_get_user_pages(). If amdgpu_ttm_tt_get_user_pages() fails in that path, the code jumps to unlock_all and calls drm_exec_fini(&exec) a second time on the same exec object. drm_exec_fini() is not idempotent: it frees exec->objects and may also drop exec->contended and finalize the ww acquire context. Route that error path directly to the range cleanup once exec has already been finalized. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool and confirmed by code review. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: lib: test_hmm: evict device pages on file close to avoid use-after-free Patch series "Minor hmm_test fixes and cleanups". Two bugfixes a cleanup for the HMM kernel selftests. These were mostly reported by Zenghui Yu with special thanks to Lorenzo for analysing and pointing out the problems. This patch (of 3): When dmirror_fops_release() is called it frees the dmirror struct but doesn't migrate device private pages back to system memory first. This leaves those pages with a dangling zone_device_data pointer to the freed dmirror. If a subsequent fault occurs on those pages (eg. during coredump) the dmirror_devmem_fault() callback dereferences the stale pointer causing a kernel panic. This was reported [1] when running mm/ksft_hmm.sh on arm64, where a test failure triggered SIGABRT and the resulting coredump walked the VMAs faulting in the stale device private pages. Fix this by calling dmirror_device_evict_chunk() for each devmem chunk in dmirror_fops_release() to migrate all device private pages back to system memory before freeing the dmirror struct. The function is moved earlier in the file to avoid a

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: rtnetlink: zero ifla_vf_broadcast to avoid stack infoleak in rtnl_fill_vfinfo rtnl_fill_vfinfo() declares struct ifla_vf_broadcast on the stack without initialisation: struct ifla_vf_broadcast vf_broadcast; The struct contains a single fixed 32-byte field: /* include/uapi/linux/if_link.h */ struct ifla_vf_broadcast { __u8 broadcast[32]; }; The function then copies dev->broadcast into it using dev->addr_len as the length: memcpy(vf_broadcast.broadcast, dev->broadcast, dev->addr_len); On Ethernet devices (the overwhelming majority of SR-IOV NICs) dev->addr_len is 6, so only the first 6 bytes of broadcast[] are written. The remaining 26 bytes retain whatever was previously on the kernel stack. The full struct is then handed to userspace via: nla_put(skb, IFLA_VF_BROADCAST, sizeof(vf_broadcast), &vf_broadcast) leaking up to 26 bytes of uninitialised kernel stack per VF per RTM_GETLINK request, repeatable. The other vf_* structs in the same function are explicitly zeroed for exactly this reason - see the memset() calls for ivi, vf_vlan_info, node_guid and port_guid a few lines above. vf_broadca

The decline handling in smc_clc_wait_msg() updates link-group level sync state for first-contact declines, but that state only exists after link group setup has completed. Guard the link-group update accordingly and keep the per-socket peer diagnosis handling unchanged. This preserves the existing sync_err handling for established link-group contexts and avoids touching link-group state before it is available.

If hold reaches 0 while count is still non-zero, the unsigned decrement wraps to UINT_MAX. Guard the decrement so hold never underflows.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ata: libata-scsi: avoid Non-NCQ command starvation When a non-NCQ command is issued while NCQ commands are being executed, ata_scsi_qc_issue() indicates to the SCSI layer that the command issuing should be deferred by returning SCSI_MLQUEUE_XXX_BUSY. This command deferring is correct and as mandated by the ACS specifications since NCQ and non-NCQ commands cannot be mixed. However, in the case of a host adapter using multiple submission queues, when the target device is under a constant load of NCQ commands, there are no guarantees that requeueing the non-NCQ command will be executed later and it may be deferred again repeatedly as other submission queues can constantly issue NCQ commands from different CPUs ahead of the non-NCQ command. This can lead to very long delays for the execution of non-NCQ commands, and even complete starvation for these commands in the worst case scenario. Since the block layer and the SCSI layer do not distinguish between queueable (NCQ) and non queueable (non-NCQ) commands, libata-scsi SAT implementation must ensure forward progress for non-NCQ commands in the presence of NCQ comma

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rust_binder: avoid reading the written value in offsets array When sending a transaction, its offsets array is first copied into the target proc's vma, and then the values are read back from there. This is normally fine because the vma is a read-only mapping, so the target process cannot change the value under us. However, if the target process somehow gains the ability to write to its own vma, it could change the offset before it's read back, causing the kernel to misinterpret what the sender meant. If the sender happens to send a payload with a specific shape, this could in the worst case lead to the receiver being able to privilege escalate into the sender. The intent is that gaining the ability to change the read-only vma of your own process should not be exploitable, so remove this TOCTOU read even though it's unexploitable without another Binder bug.

This could be problematic when the work queue item is cancelled via cancel_delayed_work_sync() in batadv_v_elp_iface_disable(). In this case, an rtnl_lock() would cause a deadlock. To avoid this, rtnl_trylock() was used in this function to skip the retrieval of the ethtool information in case the RTNL lock was already held. But for cfg80211 interfaces, batadv_get_real_netdev() was called - which also uses rtnl_lock(). The approach for __ethtool_get_link_ksettings() must also be used instead and the lockless version __batadv_get_real_netdev() has to be called.

However, the dm driver does not implement its own timeout handler and relies on the timeout handling of its slave devices. If an io-timeout-fail error is injected to a dm device, the request will be leaked and never completed, causing tasks to hang indefinitely. Reproduce: 1. prepare dm which has iscsi slave device 2. inject io-timeout-fail to dm echo 1 >/sys/class/block/dm-0/io-timeout-fail echo 100 >/sys/kernel/debug/fail_io_timeout/probability echo 10 >/sys/kernel/debug/fail_io_timeout/times 3. read/write dm 4. iscsiadm -m node -u Result: hang task like below [ 862.243768] INFO: task kworker/u514:2:151 blocked for more than 122 seconds. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: verisilicon: Avoid G2 bus error while decoding H.264 and HEVC For the i.MX8MQ platform, there is a hardware limitation: the g1 VPU and g2 VPU cannot decode simultaneously; otherwise, it will cause below bus error and produce corrupted pictures, even potentially lead to system hang. [ 110.527986] hantro-vpu 38310000.video-codec: frame decode timed out. [ 110.583517] hantro-vpu 38310000.video-codec: bus error detected. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that g1 and g2 operate alternately. This allows for successful multi-instance decoding of H.264 and HEVC. To achieve this, g1 and g2 share the same v4l2_m2m_dev, and then the v4l2_m2m_dev can handle the scheduling.

  • May 8, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: accel: adxl380: Avoid reading more entries than present in FIFO The interrupt handlerCVE-2026-43307 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: accel: adxl380: Avoid reading more entries than present in FIFO The interrupt handler reads FIFO entries in batches of N samples, where N is the number of scan elements that have been enabled. However, the sensor fills the FIFO one sample at a time, even when more than one channel is enabled. Therefore, the number of entries reported by the FIFO status registers may not be a multiple of N; if this number is not a multiple, the number of entries read from the FIFO may exceed the number of entries actually present. To fix the above issue, round down the number of FIFO entries read from the status registers so that it is always a multiple of N.

  • May 8, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: esp: avoid in-place decrypt on shared skb frags MSG_SPLICE_PAGES can attach pages frCVE-2026-43284 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: esp: avoid in-place decrypt on shared skb frags MSG_SPLICE_PAGES can attach pages from a pipe directly to an skb. TCP marks such skbs with SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG after skb_splice_from_iter(), so later paths that may modify packet data can first make a private copy. The IPv4/IPv6 datagram append paths did not set this flag when splicing pages into UDP skbs. That leaves an ESP-in-UDP packet made from shared pipe pages looking like an ordinary uncloned nonlinear skb. ESP input then takes the no-COW fast path for uncloned skbs without a frag_list and decrypts in place over data that is not owned privately by the skb. Mark IPv4/IPv6 datagram splice frags with SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG, matching TCP. Also make ESP input fall back to skb_cow_data() when the flag is present, so ESP does not decrypt externally backed frags in place. Private nonlinear skb frags still use the existing fast path. This intentionally does not change ESP output. In esp_output_head(), the path that appends the ESP trailer to existing skb tailroom without calling skb_cow_data() is not reachable for nonlinear skbs: skb_tailroom() returns zero when skb
