Aug 6, 2026The Class Mediator fails to correctly validate or sanitize `messageContext` properties when they are used to populate dynamic values.CVE-2024-6541 · Other software · WSO2 · reported by ed10eef1-636d-4fbe-9993-6890dfa878f8Medium 6.8
The Class Mediator fails to correctly validate or sanitize `messageContext` properties when they are used to populate dynamic values. This allows authenticated users to potentially access or modify data across different system invocations that should be isolated. This weakness can lead to the disclosure of sensitive information belonging to other users or the unintended modification of system data by authenticated users. The exact impact depends on how `messageContext` properties are utilized within the affected WSO2 products.

Aug 6, 2026Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in the traversal engine in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust server CVE-2026-68750 · Other software · rrrene · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.2
Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in the traversal engine in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust server CPU and memory via a flat run of sibling elements in sanitized HTML. The list clause of HtmlSanitizeEx.Traverser.traverse/2 recurses on the tail of a sibling list and then evaluates List.flatten([head] ++ tail) over the already flattened result, so every one of n siblings copies and re-walks the entire remaining tail. The flattening is only needed for the rare case where scrub returns several replacement nodes for one node, but the cost is paid across the whole tail at every step, making traversal quadratic in sibling count. The traverser sits on every public entry point, so no particular scrubber or configuration is required and the payload needs only allowed tags. A 160 KB body of 20,000 sibling elements occupies a scheduler for roughly 1.7 seconds, and the cost grows faster than the body does. This issue affects html_sanitize_ex: from 0.3.1 before 1.4.5 and from 1.5.0-rc.0 before 1.5.3.

Aug 6, 2026Inefficient Regular Expression Complexity vulnerability in the CSS scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust servCVE-2026-68749 · Other software · rrrene · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.2
Inefficient Regular Expression Complexity vulnerability in the CSS scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust server CPU via a long CSS declaration in sanitized HTML. The declaration regex in HtmlSanitizeEx.Scrubber.CSS.scrub/1 matches the property name with an unbounded greedy [-\w]+ followed by a mandatory :, so a long run of word characters not followed by a colon makes the engine give back one character at a time and retry the colon at every start offset. The work is quadratic in the length of the run, and no length cap is applied to the CSS handed to the scrubber. An 80 KB <style> body costs roughly 2.4 seconds of scheduler time, so a few concurrent requests saturate the BEAM scheduler pool and make the application unresponsive. The impact is CPU exhaustion only. Nothing is read, modified or disclosed. This issue affects html_sanitize_ex: from 0.3.1 before 1.4.5 and from 1.5.0-rc.0 before 1.5.3.

Aug 6, 2026Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Output Used by a Downstream Component ('Injection') vulnerability in the CSS scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex CVE-2026-68747 · Other software · rrrene · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.3
Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Output Used by a Downstream Component ('Injection') vulnerability in the CSS scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to inject CSS at-rules, including an import of a remote stylesheet, into a page served to other users. HtmlSanitizeEx.Scrubber.CSS.scrub/1 applies its property and value allowlist through a Regex.replace over substrings matching a property: value declaration pattern, so input that does not match that pattern is never inspected and is copied to the output unchanged. @import url(//attacker.example/style.css); survives, while the same URL inside a background: url(...) declaration is removed. Element boundaries are resolved before the scrubber runs, so injected content does not escape the <style> element and no script executes. This issue affects html_sanitize_ex: from 0.3.1 before 1.4.5 and from 1.5.0-rc.0 before 1.5.4.

Aug 6, 2026Inclusion of Functionality from Untrusted Control Sphere vulnerability in the HTML5 scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows a remote attacker to load a documCVE-2026-66843 · Other software · rrrene · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.3
Inclusion of Functionality from Untrusted Control Sphere vulnerability in the HTML5 scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows a remote attacker to load a document of their choosing into a trusted page via the data attribute of an <object> element in sanitized HTML. object is the one URI-bearing element in lib/html_sanitize_ex/scrubber/html5.ex never registered through allow_tag_with_uri_attributes/3, and its only guard is a prefix match on lowercase "javascript:", so mixed-case variants, data: URIs, protocol-relative URLs and same-origin paths all survive. This is not unconditional cross-site scripting. A javascript: URL does not execute through <object data> in current browsers, data: documents load in an opaque origin, and host-origin script execution additionally requires the application to serve attacker-controlled content from a same-origin path. This issue affects html_sanitize_ex: from 0.3.1 before 1.4.5 and from 1.5.0-rc.0 before 1.5.3.

Aug 6, 2026URL Redirection to Untrusted Site ('Open Redirect') vulnerability in the HTML5 scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows a remote attacker to force visitors ofCVE-2026-66829 · Other software · rrrene · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.3
URL Redirection to Untrusted Site ('Open Redirect') vulnerability in the HTML5 scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows a remote attacker to force visitors of a page to navigate to a site of the attacker's choosing via a <meta http-equiv="refresh"> element in sanitized HTML. HtmlSanitizeEx.html5/1 keeps attacker-supplied <meta> elements in its output. A meta element acts on the whole document rather than on the fragment it was embedded in, so it can also declare document-wide directives such as Content-Security-Policy. This is not cross-site scripting. Browsers do not navigate a meta refresh to a javascript: URL, so the uppercase JAVASCRIPT: filter bypass yields no script execution and none was demonstrated. Aug 6, 2026URL Redirection to Untrusted Site ('Open Redirect') vulnerability in the HTML5 scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to CVE-2026-66370 · Other software · rrrene · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 4.8
URL Redirection to Untrusted Site ('Open Redirect') vulnerability in the HTML5 scrubber in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to retarget a form already on the rendering page and receive whatever the victim submits, including credentials, via the form and formaction attributes on an <input> element in sanitized HTML. HTML's form attribute associates an input with any form on the page by its id even when the input sits outside that form, and formaction on a submit control overrides the owning form's action. Neither attribute receives a scheme check, so an absolute cross-origin URL survives sanitizing. No script executes. The scrubber allows neither form nor button, so the attacker cannot introduce a form of their own and the rendering page must already contain a form carrying an id. This issue affects html_sanitize_ex: from 0.3.1 before 1.4.5 and from 1.5.0-rc.0 before 1.5.3.

Aug 5, 2026In OpenStack Swift through 2.38.0, the S3API middleware does not sanitize Swift-native control headers (X-Copy-From, X-Copy-From-Account) from S3 API requests wCVE-2026-71192 · Other software · OpenStack · reported by MITREMedium 6
In OpenStack Swift through 2.38.0, the S3API middleware does not sanitize Swift-native control headers (X-Copy-From, X-Copy-From-Account) from S3 API requests when s3_acl=true. An attacker can inject these headers into a signed PUT request targeting their own bucket, causing Swift to perform a server-side copy from another tenant's private object. The source object authorization is bypassed because the S3API middleware has already authorized the request against the destination. The attacker can read any object whose project_id, container name, and object name are known, regardless of the source object's ACLs or ownership. This requires the non-default s3_acl=true configuration.

On write, `wppa_do_comment()` sanitizes the comment with `wppa_filter_html()` (wp_kses) followed by `wp_strip_all_tags()` (`wppa-functions.php:2623-2624`). Because `wp_strip_all_tags()` only removes *real* tags, an attacker who submits a **double HTML-entity-encoded** payload (e.g. `<img src=... onload=...>`) passes the write filters as harmless entity text and is stored one decode-level down (`<img ... onload=...>`).

- What to do
- Affects up to 9.2.03.001. Update the plugin to the newest version and check its changelog mentions this fix; if there isn’t one yet, deactivate it until there is.

Jul 29, 2026undici's setCookie function does not fully sanitize cookie attributes.CVE-2026-16729 · Other software · undici · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbMedium 4.8
undici's setCookie function does not fully sanitize cookie attributes. In undici before 6.28.0, from 7.0.0 up to before 7.29.0, and from 8.0.0 up to before 8.9.0, a domain value is not checked for semicolons and entries in the unparsed array are not sanitized, so attacker-influenced input can inject additional cookie attributes. For example, a domain value containing a semicolon can append attributes such as SameSite, and an unparsed entry can inject attributes such as HttpOnly, without the caller setting them. Applications that pass user-controlled input to these fields, such as multi-tenant or reverse-proxy servers that scope session cookies to a tenant-supplied domain, can have SameSite CSRF protections bypassed, or the Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite attributes forced, stripped, or overridden. The issue is fixed in undici 6.28.0, 7.29.0, and 8.9.0.

Jul 29, 2026diff‑so‑fancy does not properly sanitize non‑SGR terminal control sequences before outputting diff data.CVE-2026-50642 · Other software · so-fancy · reported by cvd@cert.plMedium 4.8
diff‑so‑fancy does not properly sanitize non‑SGR terminal control sequences before outputting diff data. The application only strips ANSI SGR sequences while allowing other control characters, including carriage return (\r) and escape sequences (e.g., OSC, CSI), to pass through unsanitized. An attacker can embed malicious control sequences in filenames, diff metadata, or file content that are rendered directly in the terminal during diff viewing. This can lead to output manipulation, including filename spoofing, terminal screen clearing, and clipboard injection via supported escape sequences. Successful exploitation may mislead users during code review, alter terminal state, or result in unintended command execution through clipboard hijacking. This issue has been fixed in the commit 9c81294

Jul 28, 2026Pivotick fails to sanitize attacker-controlled SVG markup supplied through the per-node style.svgIcon property before inserting it into the document.CVE-2026-66918 · Other software · pivotick · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8High 8.2
Pivotick fails to sanitize attacker-controlled SVG markup supplied through the per-node style.svgIcon property before inserting it into the document. When rendering a graph node, the vulnerable code assigns the SVG icon markup directly to the innerHTML property of a live SVG element. An attacker able to influence graph data can provide crafted markup containing executable event handlers, such as an <image> element with an onerror attribute. When a victim loads or renders the malicious graph, the payload may execute arbitrary JavaScript in the security context of the application embedding Pivotick. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to access application data available to the victim, modify displayed content, or perform actions using the victim’s authenticated session. Exploitation requires an application using Pivotick to render graph data that is controlled or modified by an attacker.

Jul 23, 2026In DOMPurify through 3.3.3, function predicates supplied via ADD_ATTR or ADD_TAGS to DOMPurify.sanitize() persist in internal state (EXTRA_ELEMENT_HANDLING) acrCVE-2026-65911 · Other software · cure53 · reported by VulnCheckMedium 5.1
In DOMPurify through 3.3.3, function predicates supplied via ADD_ATTR or ADD_TAGS to DOMPurify.sanitize() persist in internal state (EXTRA_ELEMENT_HANDLING) across subsequent sanitize() calls on the same instance. If a later call on the same instance provides ADD_ATTR or ADD_TAGS as an array rather than a function, the previously set function handler is neither cleared nor overwritten, so it continues to approve attacker-controlled attributes or tags. This can allow dangerous event-handler attributes or forbidden tags (bypassing FORBID_TAGS) to survive sanitization, resulting in cross-site scripting. The vendor (Cure53) considers this an edge case outside DOMPurify's threat model; the referenced advisory lists 3.4.0 as the patched version.

DOMPurify through 3.3.3 fails to sanitize DOM elements passed via IN_PLACE mode when the element originates from a different window/realm (e.g., an iframe's contentDocument). A cross-realm instanceof check in the private _isNode() function returns false for foreign-realm nodes, causing DOMPurify to stringify the element (yielding '[object HTMLDivElement]'), silently reset IN_PLACE to false, and return the unsanitized element unchanged with any XSS payloads intact.

Jul 23, 2026DOMPurify before 3.4.7 passes direct references to the module-level DEFAULT_ALLOWED_TAGS and DEFAULT_ALLOWED_ATTR sets to the uponSanitizeElement and uponSanitiCVE-2026-65902 · Other software · cure53 · reported by VulnCheckMedium 5.3
DOMPurify before 3.4.7 passes direct references to the module-level DEFAULT_ALLOWED_TAGS and DEFAULT_ALLOWED_ATTR sets to the uponSanitizeElement and uponSanitizeAttribute hooks via data.allowedTags / data.allowedAttributes when sanitize is called without an explicit cfg.ALLOWED_TAGS / cfg.ALLOWED_ATTR array. A hook that mutates these fields permanently widens the default allow-lists for the lifetime of the DOMPurify instance, so all subsequent default-config sanitize calls inherit the widened defaults and attacker payloads using the poisoned tag/attribute name survive sanitization. removeAllHooks(), clearConfig(), and passing a fresh cfg do not recover the state; only constructing a new DOMPurify instance does.
