Sep 9, 2026zstd-jni before 1.5.7-14 fails to validate the samples buffer capacity in Zstd.trainFromBufferDirect, allowing attackers to read past buffer boundaries by supplCVE-2026-87824 · Other software · luben · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7
zstd-jni before 1.5.7-14 fails to validate the samples buffer capacity in Zstd.trainFromBufferDirect, allowing attackers to read past buffer boundaries by supplying oversized per-sample lengths. Attackers can trigger out-of-bounds memory access by providing crafted sample length arrays that cause the native implementation to walk past the buffer allocation, resulting in JVM termination.

Sep 9, 2026PublishPress Capabilities – User Role Editor, Access Permissions, User Capabilities, Admin Menus: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-75927 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 7.2
The PublishPress Capabilities – User Role Editor, Access Permissions, User Capabilities, Admin Menus plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 2.50.0. This is due to the `addPluginCapabilities()` function unconditionally granting the Editor role all 15 `manage_capabilities_*` capabilities — including `manage_capabilities`, `manage_capabilities_roles`, `manage_capabilities_settings`, and `manage_capabilities_backup` — via a hard-coded `$eligible_roles = ['administrator', 'editor']` assignment that runs automatically on the first `admin_init` after plugin activation with no administrator opt-in, persisting the grants directly to the database. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Editor-level access to elevate their privileges to a site-wide capability manager, enabling them to create, rename, and delete non-system roles, modify capabilities of non-administrator roles, restore role backups, and write arbitrary plugin options whose names begin with `cme_`, `capsman`, `pp_capabilities`, or `presspermit` via `update_option()`. The escalation stops short of full Administrator access, as WordPress's `map_meta_cap` la

Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: nintendo: register input device after capabilities are set input_register_device() exCVE-2026-80771 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: nintendo: register input device after capabilities are set input_register_device() exposes the device to userspace immediately. In joycon_input_create() it was called before joycon_config_rumble() configures the FF_RUMBLE capability and the memless force-feedback device, so a concurrent EVIOCSFF could dereference a NULL dev->ff. Registering early also means the initial udev event lacks button and axis information, which can make input managers ignore the device. Move input_register_device() to the end of joycon_input_create(), after all capabilities, the IMU input device and the force-feedback callbacks have been configured.

The Advanced Custom Fields: Extended WordPress plugin before 0.9.2.7 does not verify that the requester is authorized to edit the targeted user account in the update-user action of its front-end Forms module; it only checks a capability when the submitted role is administrator or super_admin. Aug 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl: Fix CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE to match RAS Capability size The CXL r4.0 8.2.4.17.7 RAS CapabCVE-2026-80662 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl: Fix CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE to match RAS Capability size The CXL r4.0 8.2.4.17.7 RAS Capability Structure has total length 0x58 bytes (CXL_RAS_CAPABILITY_LENGTH); the Header Log occupies the trailing 64 bytes at offset 0x18. CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE was defined as SZ_512, eight times the actual on-device size. header_log_copy() reads CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE_U32 (128) dwords from the RAS capability iomap, overrunning the 88-byte mapping by 448 bytes. The cxl_aer_uncorrectable_error trace event memcpy()s CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE (512) bytes from its source. For the CPER caller the source is struct cxl_ras_capability_regs::header_log[16] (64 bytes) embedded in a stack-local cxl_cper_prot_err_work_data, so the memcpy reads 448 bytes of kernel stack into the trace event ring buffer where userspace can read it via tracefs. Set CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE to 64 and derive CXL_HEADERLOG_SIZE_U32 from it, bringing all iomap readers into agreement on 16 dwords. Userspace tools such as rasdaemon have grown a dependency on the buggy 512-byte (128 u32) header_log layout in the cxl_aer_uncorrectable_error trace event. Add CXL_HEADERLOG_TRACE_SIZE

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI: dwc: Avoid dwc_pcie_rasdes_debugfs_deinit() NULL dereference when no RAS DES capability dwc_pcie_rasdes_debugfs_init() returns success when the controller has no RAS DES capability, leaving pci->debugfs->rasdes_info unset. Aug 25, 2026browse-mcp is a Playwright-based headless-browser MCP server for MCP-capable agents.CVE-2026-55557 · Other software · That1Drifter · reported by GitHubHigh 8.6
browse-mcp is a Playwright-based headless-browser MCP server for MCP-capable agents. Prior to 0.8.2, browser_download writes a fetched response body to join(save_dir, filename) without validating the caller-controlled save_dir, while browser_save_state and browser_load_state honor a caller-controlled path unchanged. A malicious MCP client, or an autonomous agent steered by indirect prompt injection on a visited page, can choose an arbitrary save_dir or state path and a URL whose response body becomes attacker-controlled file contents, allowing writes to any path the process can reach, including ~/.bashrc, autostart entries, or cron files, and potentially leading to host code execution. The force_fetch fallback also uses a raw fetch() that bypasses the BROWSE_MCP_ALLOWED_ORIGINS origin fence. This issue is fixed in version 0.8.2.

Aug 25, 2026The virtio PCI driver (drivers/virtio/virtio_pci.c) parses a device's PCI capability list during driver initialization.CVE-2026-13216 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 6.1
The virtio PCI driver (drivers/virtio/virtio_pci.c) parses a device's PCI capability list during driver initialization. In virtio_pci_read_cap() the device-supplied capability length byte cap_len (read from PCI config space via pcie_conf_read()) was only checked with assert(tmp.cap_len == cap_struct_size). That assert resolves to __ASSERT_NO_MSG(), gated by CONFIG_ASSERT, which defaults off in production builds, so the value reached the copy logic completely unvalidated. The length then drives a loop that copies extra capability dwords into a fixed-size stack buffer supplied by the caller. A cap_len below the 24-byte base struct virtio_pci_cap underflows the unsigned extra_data_words count to a near-SIZE_MAX value, producing an effectively unbounded stack write; a cap_len above the caller's buffer (up to 255) writes up to roughly 228 bytes of device-controlled data past the buffer. Both are out-of-bounds writes of attacker-controlled content executed in kernel mode during boot-time device probe. The input originates from the virtio device. In the common deployment where Zephyr runs as a guest under a hypervisor, the device backend is the host, which already fully outranks the gue

Aug 19, 2026In Splunk AI Toolkit versions below 6.0.0, a user that holds a role with the schedule_search capability could cause a scheduled search to load and deserialize aCVE-2026-76396 · Other software · Splunk · reported by psirt@cisco.comHigh 7.5
In Splunk AI Toolkit versions below 6.0.0, a user that holds a role with the schedule_search capability could cause a scheduled search to load and deserialize a model file through the apply search command. The improper access control is possible because Splunk AI Toolkit does not mark the apply search command as risky. For more information see Troubleshoot the AI Toolkit (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/apply-machine-learning/use-ai-toolkit/5.7.3/troubleshooting-the-ai-toolkit/troubleshoot-the-ai-toolkit) in the Splunk documentation.

Aug 19, 2026In Cisco Talos Intelligence for Enterprise Security Cloud versions below 1.0.3, a user that holds a role with the get_talos_enrichment capability could send a cCVE-2026-76389 · Other software · Splunk · reported by psirt@cisco.comHigh 8.8
In Cisco Talos Intelligence for Enterprise Security Cloud versions below 1.0.3, a user that holds a role with the get_talos_enrichment capability could send a crafted request to the Talos intelligence enrichment Representational State Transfer (REST) API endpoint and cause the instance to make an outbound request to an attacker-controlled server. The request could expose tokens that compromise all relevant data and system integrity in the Splunk instance. The vulnerability is possible because the Talos intelligence enrichment REST endpoint accepts the destination for authenticated Splunk management requests from request data. For more information see Deploy Cisco Talos Intelligence for Splunk Enterprise Security (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise-security-8/user-guide/8.0/introduction/deploy-cisco-talos-intelligence-for-splunk-enterprise-security-cloud-only) in the Splunk documentation.

Aug 19, 2026In Splunk Enterprise Security versions below 8.6.1, a user who holds a Splunk Enterprise Security role that contains the mc_investigation_read capability could CVE-2026-76387 · Other software · Splunk · reported by psirt@cisco.comHigh 8.1
In Splunk Enterprise Security versions below 8.6.1, a user who holds a Splunk Enterprise Security role that contains the mc_investigation_read capability could inject Search Processing Language (SPL) through Analyst Queue search filters, allowing for access to all relevant data and system integrity available to the scheduled searches that run for that user. The vulnerability is possible because the Analyst Queue search filter handling does not validate filter field names before the fields are included in SPL searches. For more information see Users and roles for Splunk Enterprise Security (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise-security-8/install/8.4/installation/users-and-roles-for-splunk-enterprise-security), Manage analyst workflows using the analyst queue in Splunk Enterprise Security (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise-security-8/administer/8.4/mission-control/manage-analyst-workflows-using-the-analyst-queue-in-splunk-enterprise-security), and Overview of Mission Control in Splunk Enterprise Security (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise-security-8/user-guide/8.5/mission-control/overview-of-mission-control-in-splunk-enterprise-security) in the Splunk do

Aug 19, 2026In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user that holds a role with the schedule_search capability could configure Portable DoCVE-2026-76350 · Other software · Splunk · reported by psirt@cisco.comHigh 8.8
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user that holds a role with the schedule_search capability could configure Portable Document Format (PDF) attachments in the email alert action workflow. When the email alert action runs, it could execute arbitrary Search Processing Language (SPL) commands with system-level privileges, expose all relevant data, and affect system integrity and availability on the search head. The vulnerability is possible because the search scheduler passes a system-level authentication context rather than the action owner context to the email alert action when it renders PDF attachments. For more information see alert_actions.conf (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/admin-manual/10.4/configuration-file-reference/10.4.0-configuration-file-reference/alert_actions.conf) in the Splunk documentation.

Aug 19, 2026In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, an authenticated user who does not hold a role with the edit_manager_xml capability coulCVE-2026-76335 · Other software · Splunk · reported by psirt@cisco.comHigh 8.8
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, an authenticated user who does not hold a role with the edit_manager_xml capability could write a malicious Splunk Web Manager Extensible Markup Language (XML) configuration. When the same user opens the affected Splunk Web Manager page, Splunk Enterprise runs attacker-controlled operating-system commands as the user account running Splunk Enterprise. The vulnerability is possible because Splunk Web does not require the edit_manager_xml capability before accepting Splunk Web Manager XML configuration changes.

Aug 19, 2026In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a low-privileged user that does not hold the fsh_manage capability could perform Remote CVE-2026-76319 · Other software · Splunk · reported by psirt@cisco.comHigh 8.8
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a low-privileged user that does not hold the fsh_manage capability could perform Remote Code Execution through Federated Search bundle selection. This could allow for access to all relevant data and affect system integrity and availability. The vulnerability is possible because the Federated Search dispatch flow accepts caller-controlled bundle selection without enforcing the capability that manages federated providers and indexes. For more information see Security models for Federated Search for Splunk (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/search/federated-search/10.4/run-federated-searches-across-other-splunk-deployments/service-accounts-and-security-for-federated-search-for-splunk/security-models-for-federated-search-for-splunk) and Define roles on the Splunk platform with capabilities (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/manage-users-and-security/10.4/manage-splunk-platform-users-and-roles/define-roles-on-the-splunk-platform-with-capabilities) in the Splunk documentation.

In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user that holds a role with the schedule_search capability could store a malicious script in an alert trigger condition field. When another user opens the crafted link, the script runs in the browser of that user and could access all data available to that user. The vulnerability is possible because Splunk Web uses the alert threshold value in generated alert trigger condition markup without escaping special characters. Successful exploitation requires another user to open the crafted link. In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user that holds a role with the rest_properties_get capability could read encrypted stored credentials through the Representational State Transfer (REST) API. Successful exploitation can expose relevant data protected by the stored credentials. The incorrect permission assignment is possible because the properties REST endpoint requires the rest_properties_get capability instead of the list_storage_passwords capability to read stored credentials. Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories.
