  • Jul 29, 2026An out-of-bounds write vulnerability was found in the BFD library's DLX ELF backend (bfd/elf32-dlx.c) in GNU binutils.CVE-2026-18220 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.8

An out-of-bounds write vulnerability was found in the BFD library's DLX ELF backend (bfd/elf32-dlx.c) in GNU binutils. The dlx_rtype_to_howto() function maps ELF relocation types to internal howto structures but fails to perform adequate bounds checking on attacker-controlled relocation type values (via ELF32_R_TYPE(r_info)) before indexing into the dlx_elf_howto_table[] array. The DLX relocation type number space is non-contiguous (basic types 0-6, extended types at 0x10000+), but the default case in the switch statement allows arbitrary index values to reach the array access. A specially crafted ELF/DLX object file can trigger this out-of-bounds write when processed by any BFD-consuming tool (objdump, readelf, strip, ld, nm, objcopy). The vulnerability has been demonstrated to achieve arbitrary code execution via a File Stream Oriented Programming (FSOP) attack against glibc FILE structures (stderr), redirecting control flow to system(). Attack scenarios include CI/CD pipelines performing automated binary analysis, developer workstations running objdump/readelf on untrusted binaries, automated security scanning or malware analysis tools invoking binutils, and package build syst

In epa4all, prior to version 2026-05-20, an attacker on the network path between epa4all and any backend (ePA Aktensystem, Konnektor, IDP, TSS) can present a self-signed TLS certificate and intercept the connection. For non-VAU connections (Konnektor, IDP), this allows direct read and modification of the inner traffic, including smartcard operations and OIDC authentication exchanges. For the ePA backend, the disabled TLS verification is the transport-level enabler for the VAU MITM described in GHSA-vvh7-x6c7-46gh. This issue has been patched in version 2026-05-20.

  • Jul 18, 2026The urwid web display backend (urwid/display/web.py) generates web session identifiers (urwid_id) in Screen.start() by concatenating two random.randrange(10**9)CVE-2026-9323 · Other software · urwid · reported by VulnCheckCritical 9.2

The urwid web display backend (urwid/display/web.py) generates web session identifiers (urwid_id) in Screen.start() by concatenating two random.randrange(10**9) calls that use Python's Mersenne Twister PRNG, which is not cryptographically secure. Each call consumes approximately 30 bits of PRNG state, and the Mersenne Twister internal state is approximately 19,937 bits, so an attacker who observes approximately 334 session IDs (for example via the X-Urwid-ID HTTP response header) can fully reconstruct the internal state and predict all past and future session IDs (Path B). The same identifier is also used as the filename of a FIFO created in the world-listable /tmp directory (for example /tmp/urwid375487765176907690.in), so any local user on the host can list /tmp to enumerate active session tokens directly (Path A). With a valid session ID, an attacker can read the victim's terminal screen via the polling endpoint, inject keystrokes into the victim's session (yielding OS-level code execution with the session owner's privileges if the session runs a shell), and inject exit sequences or flood the FIFO to terminate or crash the session. In Eclipse BaSyx Java Server SDK versions 2.0.0-milestone-05 to 2.0.0-milestone-12, deployments using the MongoDB backend are vulnerable to an unauthenticated arbitrary file write through the AAS thumbnail API. The AAS thumbnail upload path accepted a client-controlled fileName request parameter and passed it through repository file handling as both a repository key and, during thumbnail retrieval, a local filesystem path. With the MongoDB file repository, the supplied filename was treated as an opaque GridFS key and was not normalized or restricted as a filesystem path. A remote attacker could upload thumbnail content using an absolute or traversal-style filename, then trigger thumbnail retrieval so that the uploaded bytes were written to the attacker-chosen path on the server filesystem. This could allow writing files anywhere the Java process has permission to write and may lead to remote code execution. The default InMemory backend is not affected by this specific path because it normalizes and restricts file paths to its temporary directory. The issue is fixed in Eclipse BaSyx Java Server SDK 2.0.0-milestone-13.

In Eclipse Theia since version 1.26.0, the backend /services/request-service RPC accepts an attacker-controlled URL from any client connected to the standard /services messaging endpoint, performs the HTTP request server-side, and returns the full response body to the caller. Because the destination URL is neither validated nor allowlisted, a remote attacker with access to the Theia service connection can issue server-side HTTP requests to localhost or other backend-reachable hosts and read their responses, exposing internal administrative endpoints, cloud instance metadata services, and other resources that are intentionally outside the browser network boundary. The vulnerability affects deployments where the Theia service connection is reachable by untrusted users (for example, multi-tenant or publicly-reachable Theia deployments).

  • Jul 3, 2026In affected versions of Eclipse Theia (1.8.1 and later), the browser backend exposes privileged terminal RPC over WebSocket (/services/shell-terminal, /servicesCVE-2026-10054 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgHigh 8.8

In affected versions of Eclipse Theia (1.8.1 and later), the browser backend exposes privileged terminal RPC over WebSocket (/services/shell-terminal, /services/terminals/:id) without service-level authentication. WebSocket origin validation in @theia/core is fail-open: connections are accepted when the Origin header is missing or when no THEIA_HOSTS allowlist is configured (the default). The Socket.IO integration additionally replaces the real Origin header with a client-supplied fix-origin header that an attacker can control or omit. As a result, a foreign-origin web page visited by a user with a running Theia instance can open the /services WebSocket namespace, invoke terminal creation, attach to the resulting terminal data channel, execute arbitrary OS commands, and read their output. This affects both local developer setups (drive-by attack) and hosted or tunneled deployments without strong external authentication. A fix is in development that enforces same-origin validation by default, removes trust in the fix-origin header, gates HTTP and WebSocket access on a SameSite=Strict; HttpOnly connection-token cookie, and sanitizes shell terminal creation options.

We found a chain of combining multiple weaknesses in the product that could allow an attacker to become any user in the backend and access any data: * The payment integration plugins Stripe (included in the core system), pretix-mollie, pretix-oppwa, pretix-bitpay, pretix-payone, pretix-secuconnect, pretix-sofort, and pretix-saferpay contain a code path that is intended for the transport of session parameters from a tab with isolated cookies (e.g. in the pretix widget) to a new tab. For this purpose, a set of session parameters is cryptographically signed and then passed to the new tab as a URL parameter. The plugins perform no further validation of the session parameters, other than the cryptographic signature being valid. This is fixed with the releases issued today by strictly validating that no session parameters outside of the scope of the respective plugin may be set. * An unrelated feature in the core system is used to generate redirect links that obfuscate any Referer headers for outgoing links to prevent leakage of secrets in URLs. This redirect page also requires cryptographically signed parameters. Unfortunately, it uses the same key and

Gitea act_runner with the Docker backend (through act 0.262.0) passes a workflow's container.options string to the Docker job container's HostConfig and, when configured with privileged: false, forces only the Privileged flag off while merging options such as --pid=host, --cap-add, and --security-opt unchanged. A user who can run a workflow on a Docker-backed runner can create a job container with host namespaces and broad capabilities and escape to the host as root despite privileged mode being disabled.

Cap-go capgo (capgo-backend) before 12.128.12 contains an unauthenticated denial-of-service vulnerability arising from the audit_logs table's Row-Level Security (RLS) policy when accessed via the Supabase PostgREST API. Because the PostgreSQL query planner executes costly logic before RLS rejection, unfiltered queries to the public.audit_logs endpoint using the public anon key consistently trigger statement timeouts (PostgREST error 57014). Under concurrency, this exhausts database resources and causes cascading HTTP 500 failures on unrelated endpoints (e.g. /orgs), resulting in an application-layer denial of service.

Capgo (backend Supabase edge functions) before 12.128.2 does not apply the global authentication middleware to the GET /private/role_bindings/:org_id endpoint, unlike the POST and DELETE role_bindings routes, so unauthenticated requests reach the handler instead of being rejected at the middleware layer. The handler still performs its own authorization check and returns Unauthorized, so no direct data exposure occurs; the flaw is inconsistent authentication enforcement across HTTP methods that could enable authorization bypass if the handler logic changes.

Jupyter Server is the backend for Jupyter web applications. Prior to 2.20, the nbconvert HTTP handlers in jupyter_server render user-authored notebook HTML under the Jupyter origin without a sandbox directive in their Content-Security-Policy. Combined with nbconvert.HTMLExporter's default non-sanitizing behavior, a notebook carrying an HTML payload in a display_data output triggers stored XSS with cookie access, full /api/* authority, and kernel RCE. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.20.

  • Jun 15, 2026Versions prior to 2.6.6 are vulnerable to prototype pollution via crafted missing-key strings when used to persist missing translation keys (e.g.CVE-2026-48713 · Other software · i18next · reported by GitHubCritical 9.1

Versions prior to 2.6.6 are vulnerable to prototype pollution via crafted missing-key strings when used to persist missing translation keys (e.g. via i18next-http-middleware's missingKeyHandler exposed to untrusted input). Backend.writeFile() splits each queued missing-key string on the configured keySeparator (default .) before calling the internal setPath() walker. The walker (getLastOfPath in lib/utils.js) did not guard against unsafe segments, so a key like "__proto__.polluted" was split into ["__proto__", "polluted"] and walked straight into Object.prototype, allowing an attacker to write arbitrary properties onto the global object prototype. Depending on the host application, polluted prototype properties may cause crashes, corrupted translation behaviour, configuration poisoning, or bypasses of property-based security checks. Applications are affected only if the missingKeyHandler (or another route that forwards untrusted request bodies to i18next.t(..., { ... }) with saveMissing: true) is reachable by untrusted users and the default behaviour of splitting missing-key strings on keySeparator is in use (i.e. keySeparator is not false). • Jun 12, 2026Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js.CVE-2026-53726 · Other software · parse-community · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. Prior to versions 8.6.80 and 9.9.1-alpha.6, a relation query using the $relatedTo operator could read the membership of a Relation field even when that field was hidden from the requesting client by protectedFields, and even when the object owning the relation was not readable by the client under its ACL or class-level permissions. The request requires only the public API credentials that Parse clients normally carry — no user session, master key, or Cloud Code is needed. As a result, an unauthenticated client who knows or obtains the owning object's objectId could enumerate the objects linked through a protected relation, or combine the operator with an objectId constraint to use it as a membership oracle — confirming whether a specific object is linked to a private parent. This affects applications that rely on protectedFields or object ACLs to keep Relation membership confidential, such as private group memberships, block lists, or account-to-resource associations. This issue has been patched in versions 8.6.80 and 9.9.1-alpha.6.
