  • Aug 18, 2026WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents.CVE-2026-49452 · Other software · Kozea · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents. Prior to 69.0, WeasyPrint embeds unescaped HTML presentational-hint attribute values into CSS in weasyprint/css/__init__.py when presentational_hints=True. The background attribute is inserted into a background-image:url() declaration and parsed by tinycss2.parse_blocks_contents(), allowing untrusted HTML to inject additional CSS declarations. Applications that render untrusted HTML with presentational hints enabled can be affected by CSS injection and server-side requests through injected url() values. This issue is fixed in version 69.0.

  • Aug 17, 2026Pandora is affected by a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the PDF download functionality.CVE-2026-75529 · Other software · pandora-analysis · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 6.9

Pandora is affected by a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the PDF download functionality. The /task-download/<task_id>/.../pdf endpoint verifies that the submitted file is a PDF using Pandora's content-based file-type detection, but previously returned the file using send_file(task.file.path) without explicitly specifying the MIME type or forcing it to be downloaded as an attachment. Because Flask determines the response MIME type from the filename when a path is supplied, an attacker could submit a file whose content is recognized by Pandora as a PDF while its filename or extension causes the download endpoint to return it with a different, potentially active MIME type. A specially crafted PDF/polyglot file could therefore be served inline and interpreted by a victim's browser as HTML or another executable web format. If a victim with access to the submitted analysis follows the PDF download link, attacker-controlled script could execute in the security context of the Pandora application, potentially allowing access to application data or actions using the victim's session. The patch prevents the issue by explicitly returning PDF downloads with Content-Type: ap

  • Aug 12, 2026PDF::WebKit versions through 1.2 for Perl allow OS command injection via a 2-arg open() of the output path in to_pdf and of stylesheet paths in _style_tag_for.CVE-2026-17431 · Other software · MITHALDU · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eMedium 6.1

PDF::WebKit versions through 1.2 for Perl allow OS command injection via a 2-arg open() of the output path in to_pdf and of stylesheet paths in _style_tag_for. to_pdf reads the generated PDF back from its path argument, and _style_tag_for reads each entry of the stylesheets list, by assigning the path to a local @ARGV and reading it with the diamond operator, which opens each @ARGV element with Perl's 2-arg open(). A value that begins or ends with a pipe ("| cmd", "cmd |") is run as a command rather than opened as a file, and one that begins with a redirect ("> path", ">> path") opens that path for write or append. to_file forwards its path argument to to_pdf and reaches the same read. Any caller that forwards untrusted input as the output path or as a stylesheets entry can run a command under the process UID; with the "cmd |" form the command's output is returned in place of the PDF, and with the "> path" form the named file is truncated. Stylesheets may only be added to an HTML source, so a URL or file source exposes the output path alone.

  • Aug 12, 2026PDF::WebKit versions through 1.2 for Perl allow argument injection into wkhtmltopdf via meta tags in the source document.CVE-2026-16770 · Other software · MITHALDU · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eCritical 9.8

PDF::WebKit versions through 1.2 for Perl allow argument injection into wkhtmltopdf via meta tags in the source document. For an HTML string or file source, the constructor collects every <meta name="pdf-webkit-KEY" content="VALUE"> element in the document head through _pdf_webkit_meta_tags and turns each one into a wkhtmltopdf command line option. KEY is normalized to an option name matching --[a-z0-9-]+ but is not checked against an allow list, VALUE is passed through unchanged as the argument that follows it, and a VALUE of "yes" emits the option as a bare flag. BUILD merges the meta derived options last, so they also override the module defaults and the options passed to new. Switches such as --enable-local-file-access and --cookie-jar are reachable this way. The renderer is executed with an argument list rather than a shell command, so this is argument injection and not shell injection. Any caller that renders untrusted HTML lets the document choose the renderer's options and override those set by the application, including options that read local files into the resulting PDF or write to a chosen path. A URL source is not scanned, and the scan is skipped when XML::LibXML, a

CTI-Transmute is affected by a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the evaluation report PDF-generation functionality. User-controlled CTI content, including conversion names, descriptions, and comments, is converted from Markdown to HTML and rendered as a PDF using WeasyPrint. Before the patch, the renderer used WeasyPrint’s default URL-fetching behavior without restricting the protocols or destinations that could be referenced by the generated HTML. An attacker able to supply content included in an evaluation report could inject crafted resource references using schemes such as http://, https://, or file://. When the report was rendered, CTI-Transmute could fetch these resources using the application server’s network connectivity and filesystem privileges. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to: * access services available only from the CTI-Transmute server or its internal network; * probe internal hosts and service endpoints; * retrieve local files readable by the application process; and * expose fetched content through the generated PDF, depending on the referenced resource type and rendering context. Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP. In versions 3.15 and prior, if a malicious actor can supply unrestricted content for rendering by Dompdf they can utilize the SVG rendering functionality to leak filesystem information when rendering PDF files using image references within a data-URI encoded SVG document. Using an <image> element inside a data-URI embedded SVG, an attacker can attempt to embed other files via the href or xlink:href attributes. When processing a file that does not exist (e.g. file:///DOESNOTEXIST), dompdf behaves differently than it does when accessing a file or directory that actually exists on the filesystem. • Jul 28, 2026Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP.CVE-2026-59942 · Other software · dompdf · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP. Versions 3.15 and prior are vulnerable to a Denial of Service (DoS) attack via resource exhaustion. An attacker can crash the PHP process by providing a specially crafted HTML document containing a single image with massive dimensions (e.g., 30,000x30,000 pixels). While Dompdf implements internal checks to validate image dimensions, these can be bypassed by using a high-entropy image (such as random noise) encoded in Base64 and wrapped in specific CSS containers. The vulnerability exists because the dimension validation happens early, but the resource allocation for calculating the object's bounding box and internal buffers during the rendering phase does not strictly limit the cumulative CPU time or memory usage for a single object that has passed the initial check. An unauthenticated remote attacker can cause a complete Denial of Service on the web server by submitting a crafted HTML string. This affects any application that allows users to provide HTML content or URLs that are subsequently converted to PDF using Dompdf. This issue has been fixed in version 3.16.

  • Jul 28, 2026Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP.CVE-2026-59941 · Other software · dompdf · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP. Versions 3.15 and prior accept a BMP image and generates a PDF-compatible PNG based only on its declared header dimensions and never bounds width × height before the image is converted through GD. A 58-byte BMP whose header declares e.g. 6000×6000 is accepted and later drives imagecreatetruecolor($width, $height) (and PHP's native BMP decoder) to allocate the full pixel canvas. A payload can fit in a single HTTP request: the BMP can be inlined as a data:image/bmp;base64,… URI inside attacker-controlled HTML, so no upload, no remote fetch, and no chroot-reachable file is required. I measured a 169-byte request driving a dompdf render to ~412 MB peak RSS and ~4.8 s of CPU/wall time, versus ~34 MB for an identically-sized benign request — roughly a 12× memory amplification per request, repeatable and unauthenticated. This issue has been fixed in version 3.16.

  • Jul 28, 2026Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP.CVE-2026-56722 · Other software · dompdf · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP. In versions 3.15 and prior, aAn attacker who controls the HTML input can bypass this restriction by embedding a target file path inside an SVG image delivered through a  data:  URI, because dompdf processes the SVG twice and the second pass does not enforce the same protections as the first. When rendering, dompdf hands the SVG to the separate  php-svg-lib  library with external references forced on, and that library has no knowledge of the chroot directory, blocks only the  phar://  scheme, and ultimately reads the referenced file with no path or protocol validation. This lets an external, unauthenticated attacker read arbitrary image files from the server's file system in the default configuration. This issue has been fixed in version 3.16.

  • Jul 28, 2026Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP.CVE-2026-55555 · Other software · dompdf · reported by GitHubLow 2.3

Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP. Versions 3.15 and prior are vulnerable to a File Existence Oracle attack through the manipulation of the CSS @font-face directive. By providing malicious HTML that references local files via the file:// protocol repeatedly, an attacker can trigger PHP memory exhaustion. Because Dompdf behaves differently depending on whether a referenced local file exists (an existing file is processed repeatedly until it triggers an "Allowed memory size exhausted" crash, whereas a missing file fails fast or is ignored and never hits the memory limit), an attacker can use this observable discrepancy as an oracle to enumerate sensitive files on the server regardless of CHROOT restrictions. Exploitation requires the attacker to supply unrestricted or unsanitized HTML in a request that permits large data, plus a configuration where Dompdf's memory limit is low enough to be exhausted (with  $_dompdf_show_warnings=true  making the overflow easier to reach). This issue has been fixed in version 3.16.

  • Jul 28, 2026Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP.CVE-2026-55554 · Other software · dompdf · reported by GitHubLow 2.3

Dompdf is an HTML to PDF converter for PHP. In versions 3.15 and prior, the validateLocalUri() method enforces chroot boundaries with a strpos() prefix check after normalizing paths with  realpath() . Because normalization strips the trailing directory separator from  $chrootPath , the check only verifies that  $chrootPath  is a string prefix of $realfile, so a chroot of  /var/www  also matches sibling directories like /var/www2 , /var/www-admin, or /var/www_backup. An attacker who controls part of the rendered HTML could exploit this to escape the chroot and read sensitive files outside the allowed directory. This issue has been fixed in version 3.16.

The PDFDraft – Drag & Drop PDF Builder, PDF Viewer, Embed & Download PDF, Certificate & Invoice Designer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access of data due to a missing capability check on the serveTemplatePdfAjax() function and the serveTemplatePdf() REST route (which is registered with `permission_callback => '__return_true'`) in versions up to, and including, 1.1.0. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to download stored template PDFs — which may contain customer PII, invoice, order, and certificate data — by requesting the publicly registered admin-ajax action `pdfdraft_embed_pdf` or the REST endpoint `/wp-json/pdfdraft/v1/embed-pdf/templates/{slug}/pdf` with a known or guessable design slug, bypassing the plugin's own .

Catalyst::View::Wkhtmltopdf versions before 0.6.1 for Perl allow shell command injection (RCE) via PDF render options. Options are passed directly to the wkhtmltopdf command without sanitization. Any web application that passes user-controlled options such as the page_size, orientation or margins without validation allows shell command injection. Version 0.6.0 was released with an incomplete fix for this issue. Note that the wkhtmltopdf project is no longer being developed, and users of this package should migrate to alternative solutions.

The PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 5.14.0 via the generate_document_shortcode due to missing validation on a user controlled key. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to mint publicly accessible, session-free download links for arbitrary third-party orders, exposing customer names, billing and shipping addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, order and invoice numbers, line items, totals, payment details, and customer notes contained in those orders' invoices and packing slips. Exploitation requires the plugin's Document link access type setting to be configured to 'full'; with the default 'logged_in' value, generated URLs are signed with a per-session nonce rather than the order_key, making the shortcode path unexploitable for unauthorized access to third-party orders.
