Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Prevent XDomain delayed work use-after-free on disconnect tb_xdp_handle_requeCVE-2026-74575 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Prevent XDomain delayed work use-after-free on disconnect tb_xdp_handle_request() runs on system_wq and queues xd->state_work via queue_delayed_work() in three request handlers: PROPERTIES_CHANGED_REQUEST, UUID_REQUEST (via start_handshake), and LINK_STATE_CHANGE_REQUEST. Similarly, update_xdomain() queues xd->properties_changed_work when local properties change. Concurrently, tb_xdomain_remove() calls stop_handshake() which does cancel_delayed_work_sync() on both delayed works. Later, tb_xdomain_unregister() calls device_unregister() which eventually frees the xdomain. Since commit 559c1e1e0134 ("thunderbolt: Run tb_xdp_handle_request() in system workqueue") moved the request handler off tb->wq, the handler and the remove path are no longer serialized. If queue_delayed_work() executes after cancel_delayed_work_sync() but before the xdomain is freed, the delayed work fires on a freed object. Add xd->removing that tb_xdomain_remove() sets under xd->lock before calling stop_handshake(). Each external queue site holds the same lock and checks removing before calling queue_delayed_work(). Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kernfs: fix xattr race condition with multiple superblocks Multiple superblocks with diffeCVE-2026-74343 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kernfs: fix xattr race condition with multiple superblocks Multiple superblocks with different namespaces can share the same kernfs_node when kernfs_test_super() finds a matching root but different namespace. This means multiple inodes from different superblocks can reference the same kernfs_node->iattr->xattrs structure. The VFS layer only holds per-inode locks during xattr operations, which is insufficient to serialize concurrent xattr modifications on the shared kernfs_node. This can lead to race conditions in simple_xattr_set() where the lookup->replace/remove sequence is not atomic with respect to operations from other superblocks. Fix this by protecting xattr operations with the existing hashed kernfs_locks->open_file_mutex[] array, which is already used to protect per-node open file data. The hashed mutex array provides scalable per-node serialization (scaled by CPU count, up to 1024 locks on 32+ CPU systems) with zero memory overhead. Changes: - Rename open_file_mutex[] to node_mutex[] to reflect dual purpose - Add kernfs_node_lock_ptr() and kernfs_node_lock() helpers - Protect simple_xattr_set() calls

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: validate donor file superblock early in EXT4_IOC_MOVE_EXT Reject the EXT4_IOC_MOVE_EXT ioctl early if the donor file does not belong to the same superblock as the original file. Currently, this validation is performed inside ext4_move_extents() by mext_check_validity(), but only after lock_two_nondirectories() has already acquired the inode locks. When the donor fd refers to a file on a different filesystem (e.g., overlayfs), this late validation creates a circular lock dependency: CPU0 (overlayfs write) CPU1 (ext4 ioctl) ---- ---- inode_lock(ovl_inode) mnt_want_write_file(filp) sb_start_write(ext4_sb) [sb_writers] backing_file_write_iter() vfs_iter_write(real_file) file_start_write(real_file) sb_start_write(ext4_sb) [blocked by freeze] lock_two_nondirectories() inode_lock(ovl_inode) [blocked] With a concurrent freeze operation holding sb_writers write side, this forms a deadlo

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: minix: avoid overflow in bitmap block count calculation minix_check_superblock() uses miniCVE-2026-72369 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: minix: avoid overflow in bitmap block count calculation minix_check_superblock() uses minix_blocks_needed() to verify that the on-disk imap and zmap block counts are large enough for the advertised inode and zone counts. The helper currently performs DIV_ROUND_UP() in unsigned int arithmetic. A Minix v3 image can set s_ninodes or s_zones near UINT_MAX so the addition inside DIV_ROUND_UP() wraps to zero. That makes a zero imap/zmap block count look valid, after which minix_fill_super() can dereference s_imap[0] or s_zmap[0] even though no bitmap buffers were allocated. Impact: mounting a crafted Minix v3 image whose s_ninodes or s_zones is near UINT_MAX makes minix_check_superblock() accept a zero bitmap-block count and minix_fill_super() dereference s_imap[0]/s_zmap[0], panicking the kernel. The divisor is the bitmap capacity in bits, blocksize * 8, which is always a power of two: minix_fill_super() obtains the block size through sb_set_blocksize(), and blk_validate_block_size() rejects any size that is not a power of two. Use DIV_ROUND_UP_POW2(), which divides before adding the round-up term and so cannot ove

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: fail attrlist updates when the superblock is inactive generic_shutdown_super() clearCVE-2026-72189 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: fail attrlist updates when the superblock is inactive generic_shutdown_super() clears SB_ACTIVE before evicting cached inodes. If eviction selects the fake inode for a base inode's unnamed $ATTRIBUTE_LIST attribute, ntfs_evict_big_inode() drops the fake inode's reference on the base inode while the fake inode is still hashed and marked I_FREEING. That iput can synchronously write back the base inode. The writeback path may update mapping pairs and call ntfs_attrlist_update(), which unconditionally calls ntfs_attr_iget() for the same $ATTRIBUTE_LIST fake inode. VFS then finds the I_FREEING inode and waits for eviction to finish, but the current task is still inside that eviction path, causing a self-deadlock in find_inode(). Fix this by mirroring the teardown guard used by __ntfs_write_inode(): once SB_ACTIVE has been cleared, do not try to iget the attribute-list fake inode. Return -EIO so teardown aborts the update instead of waiting on the inode it is evicting.

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: thunderbolt: Fix frags[] overflow by bounding frame_count tbnet_poll() assembles a muCVE-2026-72157 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: thunderbolt: Fix frags[] overflow by bounding frame_count tbnet_poll() assembles a multi-frame ThunderboltIP packet into one skb. The first frame goes into the skb linear area and every further frame is added as a page fragment. skb_add_rx_frag(skb, skb_shinfo(skb)->nr_frags, page, hdr_size, frame_size, TBNET_RX_PAGE_SIZE - hdr_size); A packet of frame_count frames therefore ends up with frame_count - 1 fragments. tbnet_check_frame() only bounds the peer supplied frame_count to TBNET_RING_SIZE / 4 (64), which is far above MAX_SKB_FRAGS (17 by default). A peer that sends a packet of 19 or more small frames pushes nr_frags past MAX_SKB_FRAGS, so skb_add_rx_frag() writes past skb_shinfo()->frags[] and corrupts memory after the shared info. Tighten the start of packet bound to MAX_SKB_FRAGS + 1 so a packet can never produce more fragments than frags[] can hold. This matches the recent skb frags overflow fixes in other receive paths, for example f0813bcd2d9d ("net: wwan: t7xx: fix potential skb->frags overflow in RX path") and 600dc40554dc ("net: usb: cdc-phonet: fix skb frags[] overflow in rx_complete(

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fscrypt: Add missing superblock check in find_or_insert_direct_key() The legacy 'fscrypt_direct_keys' table caches master keys that are used by v1 encryption policies that have FSCRYPT_POLICY_FLAG_DIRECT_KEY. It's just a global table for all filesystems (since the keys can be provided by the legacy process-subscribed keyrings mechanism, which makes it difficult to reuse super_block::s_master_keys). The entries in it ('struct fscrypt_direct_key') do contain a super_block pointer, though, for passing to fscrypt_destroy_inline_crypt_key() when the last inode that references the key is evicted. However, when finding the fscrypt_direct_key for an inode, we weren't actually comparing the super_block pointer. As a result, inodes with different super_blocks could point to the same fscrypt_direct_key. That could extend the lifetime of a fscrypt_direct_key beyond the super_block it points to, causing a use-after-free later. Fix this by creating distinct fscrypt_direct_key structs for distinct super_block structs. Note that this problem doesn't exist in the v2 policy equivalent ("per-mode keys"), since the data struct

Jul 30, 2026An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in Samba's Kerberos Key Distribution Center's (KDC) password change (kpasswd) service.CVE-2026-58216 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.3
An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in Samba's Kerberos Key Distribution Center's (KDC) password change (kpasswd) service. When processing malformed ASN.1-encoded Kerberos password change request, Samba server miscalculates the structure size and attempts to read up to six bytes beyond the end of the allocated buffer. While this out-of-bounds read typically results in a harmless decryption failure, if the read hits unmapped memory, it causes the KDC process to crash. An authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted kpasswd request containing malformed ASN.1 data to trigger the out-of-bounds read, which may cause the KDC process to terminate, resulting in a denial of service.

Jul 29, 2026@fastify/rate-limit before 11.2.0 keys rate-limit buckets by the verbatim client IP string returned from request.ip.CVE-2026-15144 · Other software · @fastify/rate-limit · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbHigh 7.3
@fastify/rate-limit before 11.2.0 keys rate-limit buckets by the verbatim client IP string returned from request.ip. Because a single IPv6 client can control a large address range (a /64 holds 2^64 distinct addresses) and the same address has multiple valid textual representations, an IPv6 capable client can defeat the rate-limit boundary by rotating addresses or by rewriting the same address in different forms. Applications that use @fastify/rate-limit to protect endpoints such as authentication, password reset, OTP delivery, or expensive API calls can be bypassed by IPv6 clients behind a proxy that surfaces IPv6 to the origin when trustProxy is enabled. The issue is fixed in @fastify/rate-limit 11.2.0, where the default key generator normalizes IPv6 addresses to their canonical form, collapses IPv4 mapped IPv6 to IPv4, and applies a configurable prefix mask (default /64) via a new ipv6Subnet option.

Jul 24, 2026The Zephyr ext2 file system validates the on-disk superblock in ext2_verify_disk_superblock() (subsys/fs/ext2/ext2_impl.c) before completing a mount.CVE-2026-7007 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 4.6
The Zephyr ext2 file system validates the on-disk superblock in ext2_verify_disk_superblock() (subsys/fs/ext2/ext2_impl.c) before completing a mount. The validator checked the magic number, block size, revision and feature flags, but did not verify that the on-disk fields s_blocks_per_group and s_inodes_per_group are non-zero. Both fields are read directly from the image and are later used as divisors during mount-time initialization. During mount, get_ngroups() divides and modulos s_blocks_count by s_blocks_per_group (reached via ext2_fetch_block_group() from ext2_init_fs()), and get_itable_entry() divides (ino - 1) by s_inodes_per_group when fetching the root inode (both in subsys/fs/ext2/ext2_diskops.c). A superblock with either field set to zero therefore causes an integer division by zero during the mount sequence. An attacker who can present a crafted ext2 image to a device that mounts ext2 — removable media such as an SD card or a USB mass-storage device — can trigger this. On ARMv7-M / ARMv8-M-mainline Cortex-M targets, divide-by-zero trapping is enabled (SCB_CCR_DIV_0_TRP), so the division raises a UsageFault that Zephyr treats as a fatal error, producing a denial of ser

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: property: Reject u32 wrap in tb_property_entry_valid() entry->value is u32 anCVE-2026-63893 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.1
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: property: Reject u32 wrap in tb_property_entry_valid() entry->value is u32 and entry->length is u16; the sum is performed in u32 and wraps. A malicious XDomain peer can pick value = 0xffffff00, length = 0x100 so the sum 0x100000000 wraps to 0 and passes the > block_len check. tb_property_parse() then passes entry->value to parse_dwdata() as a dword offset into the property block, reading attacker-directed memory far past the allocation. For TEXT-typed entries with the "deviceid" or "vendorid" keys this lands in xd->device_name / xd->vendor_name and is readable back via the per-XDomain device_name / vendor_name sysfs attributes; the leak is NUL-bounded (kstrdup() stops at the first zero byte) and untargeted (the attacker picks a delta, not an absolute address). DATA-typed entries are parsed into property->value.data but not generically surfaced to userspace. Use check_add_overflow() so a wrapped sum is rejected.

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: property: Reject dir_len < 4 to prevent size_t underflow On the non-root pathCVE-2026-63892 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: property: Reject dir_len < 4 to prevent size_t underflow On the non-root path, __tb_property_parse_dir() takes dir_len from entry->length (u16 widened to size_t). Two distinct OOB conditions follow when entry->length < 4: 1. The non-root path begins with kmemdup(&block[dir_offset], sizeof(*dir->uuid), ...) which always reads 4 dwords from dir_offset. tb_property_entry_valid() only enforces dir_offset + entry->length <= block_len, so a crafted entry with dir_offset close to the end of the property block and entry->length in 0..3 passes that gate but lets the UUID copy run off the block (e.g. dir_offset = 497, dir_len = 3 in a 500-dword block reads block[497..501]). 2. After the kmemdup, content_len = dir_len - 4 underflows size_t to ~SIZE_MAX, nentries becomes SIZE_MAX / 4, and the entry walk runs OOB on each iteration until an entry fails validation or the kernel oopses on an unmapped page. Reject dir_len < 4 on the non-root path *before* the UUID kmemdup, which closes both holes. Also move INIT_LIST_HEAD(&dir->properties) up to immediately after the dir allocation

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: property: Cap recursion depth in __tb_property_parse_dir() A DIRECTORY entry'CVE-2026-63891 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: property: Cap recursion depth in __tb_property_parse_dir() A DIRECTORY entry's value field is used as the dir_offset for a recursive call into __tb_property_parse_dir() with no depth counter. A crafted peer that chains DIRECTORY entries into a back-reference loop drives the parser until the kernel stack is exhausted and the guard page fires. Any untrusted XDomain peer (cable, dock, in-line inspector, adjacent host) that reaches the PROPERTIES_REQUEST control-plane exchange can trigger this without authentication. Thread a depth counter through tb_property_parse() and __tb_property_parse_dir(), and reject blocks that exceed TB_PROPERTY_MAX_DEPTH = 8. That is comfortably larger than any observed legitimate XDomain layout. Operators who do not need XDomain host-to-host discovery can disable the path entirely with thunderbolt.xdomain=0 on the kernel command line.

ChatterBot is a machine learning, conversational dialog engine for creating chat bots. Prior to 1.2.14, UbuntuCorpusTrainer.extract() uses a predictable home-rooted output directory (~/ubuntu_data/ubuntu_dialogs) with a check-then-create pattern followed by tar.extractall(path=self.data_path), allowing a local attacker who pre-plants a symlink at the predictable path to cause archive contents to be written through the symlink to an attacker-chosen directory. This issue is fixed in version 1.2.14.

Zeek before 8.0.9 contains a null pointer dereference vulnerability in its Kerberos protocol analyzer that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to crash the sensor by sending a crafted KRB_ERROR message with error-code 25 (KDC_ERR_PREAUTH_REQUIRED) containing a PA-DATA element with padata-type 2, 3, 11, or 19. Attackers can exploit a parser and analyzer state mismatch where proc_padata() dereferences an uninitialized pa_data_element field selected by the wrong parsing arm, triggering a crash via a single UDP or TCP packet to port 88 without any credentials or prior authentication.

Jul 2, 2026Netdata before 2.3.1 reflects the user-supplied love query parameter of the api/v2/ilove.svg and api/v3/ilove.svg endpoints verbatim into the generated SVG docuCVE-2025-71385 · Other software · netdata · reported by VulnCheckMedium 5.1
Netdata before 2.3.1 reflects the user-supplied love query parameter of the api/v2/ilove.svg and api/v3/ilove.svg endpoints verbatim into the generated SVG document (into a text element) without HTML or XML escaping, and serves the response with Content-Type image/svg+xml. An attacker can craft a URL such as /api/v2/ilove.svg?love=<script>...</script>; when a victim navigates to it the injected script executes in the victim browser in the origin of the Netdata instance (reflected cross-site scripting). These endpoints are registered with HTTP_ACL_NOCHECK and anonymous access and, because bearer-token protection is disabled by default, are reachable without authentication on a default Netdata agent. The issue was resolved by removing the ilove endpoint.

Jun 30, 2026SeaweedFS before 4.30 reflects the callback query parameter verbatim into responses served with Content-Type application/javascript in the shared writeJson helpCVE-2026-58371 · Other software · seaweedfs · reported by VulnCheckLow 2.3
SeaweedFS before 4.30 reflects the callback query parameter verbatim into responses served with Content-Type application/javascript in the shared writeJson helper (weed/server/common.go), with no callback-name validation, no X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff header, and no CORS allow-list. Every JSON endpoint that uses writeJson - including the unauthenticated master endpoints /dir/status, /dir/lookup and /cluster/status, the volume server /status, and the filer directory listing, all reachable in the default configuration (no -whiteList, no security.toml, bound to 0.0.0.0) - can therefore be loaded cross-origin via a script tag with a chosen callback, letting a third-party web page read cluster topology, volume server URLs and gRPC ports, file identifiers, and directory listings. Because the callback string is reflected at the start of the body and no nosniff header is sent, MIME-sniffing clients may also interpret the reflected content as HTML.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Reject zero-length property entries in validator tb_property_entry_valid() accepts entries with length == 0 for DIRECTORY, DATA, and TEXT types. A zero-length TEXT entry passes validation but causes an underflow in the null-termination logic: property->value.text[property->length * 4 - 1] = '\0'; When property->length is 0 this writes to offset -1 relative to the allocation. Reject zero-length entries early in the validator since they have no valid representation in the XDomain property protocol.

Jun 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Validate XDomain request packet size before type cast tb_xdp_handle_request()CVE-2026-53147 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.1
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Validate XDomain request packet size before type cast tb_xdp_handle_request() casts the received packet buffer to protocol-specific structs without verifying that the allocation is large enough for the target type. A peer can send a minimal XDomain packet that passes the generic header length check but is shorter than the struct accessed after the cast, causing out-of- bounds reads from the kmemdup allocation. Plumb the packet length through xdomain_request_work and validate it against the expected struct size before each cast.
