In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: verify run length exceeding volume boundary The mapping pairs decoder validates that the starting LCN is within the volume but does not check if the run extends beyond the volume boundary. A malformed NTFS image with a crafted mapping pairs array could cause the kernel to access memory beyond the volume boundary, potentially leading to memory corruption and privilege escalation. Add validation to ensure lcn + length stays within nr_clusters.

Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: svcrdma: Reject oversized Read segments at decode time The RPC/RDMA Read list decoder storCVE-2026-89529 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: svcrdma: Reject oversized Read segments at decode time The RPC/RDMA Read list decoder stores wire-supplied segment lengths without validation. xdr_count_read_segments() checks 4-byte alignment for non-zero position values but does not cap the segment length. An oversized rs_length reaches svc_rdma_build_read_segment(), which derives nr_bvec from it and can drive a large dynamic bvec allocation before verifying that enough rq_pages remain. If the post-allocation page-overrun guard fires, the freshly acquired rw context is not returned, leaking the resource. Reject any segment whose length exceeds the receive context's page budget during Read list decoding, consistent with how xdr_check_write_chunk() bounds Write segment counts against rc_maxpages. Also return the rw context on the existing post-allocation overrun path in svc_rdma_build_read_segment(), keeping that defensive guard balanced.

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the PC bridge protocol decoder of BoschSensortec COINES_SDK (versions 2.10 through 2.12.2) allows attackers to cause a denial of service (process crash) or potentially execute arbitrary code. The bridge decoder ({{bridge_decoder.c}}) trusts the packet length field provided by the external device and forwards it to the host response queue ({{mqueue_add_data}}) without validating the bounds of the destination buffer. A malicious or compromised USB or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) peripheral can advertise a payload size up to ~3 KB, which exceeds the default queue slot size of 255 bytes. This results in an unbounded heap overwrite ({{memcpy}}), corrupting adjacent heap metadata on the host system when processing the device's response.

Aug 20, 2026A heap out-of-bounds write exists in the Photo CD (PCD) decoder of GraphicsMagick.CVE-2026-77118 · Other software · GraphicsMagick Group · reported by 22e2d327-25fe-45d7-9f0c-dcd23b7108dfHigh 8.4
A heap out-of-bounds write exists in the Photo CD (PCD) decoder of GraphicsMagick. In DecodeImage() (coders/pcd.c), the Huffman delta loop advances its output pointer with q++ after every decoded delta and never checks it against the end of the heap-allocated luma/chroma plane buffers. The pointer is repositioned only when a sync marker introduces a new plane/row; between sync markers the run length is bounded solely by the input. A crafted PCD file that positions the pointer near the end of a plane and then supplies a long run of deltas with no intervening sync therefore walks the pointer past the end of the allocation and writes through it. Processing an untrusted PCD file — for example with gm convert or gm identify, or through any application linked against libGraphicsMagick — can corrupt heap memory beyond the buffers.

Aug 19, 2026jxl-oxide is a pure Rust implementation of a JPEG XL decoder.CVE-2026-52834 · Other software · tirr-c · reported by GitHubHigh 7.3
jxl-oxide is a pure Rust implementation of a JPEG XL decoder. Prior to jxl-grid 0.6.2, decoding a crafted JPEG XL image on a 32-bit platform can overflow length calculations in AlignedGrid::with_alloc_tracker and related grid and subgrid arithmetic. A 65536 x 65536 frame can pass the frame-area limit while overflowing the usize element count, causing modular, VarDCT, or filter rendering paths to allocate a backing buffer smaller than the logical grid. A tiny bitstream-controlled cropped frame combined with a huge canvas or requested region can also reach the vulnerable composition path in crates/jxl-render/src/blend.rs through ordinary render_frame(). Later mutable subgrid and raw-pointer operations can then perform attacker-controlled out-of-bounds writes, causing memory corruption, denial of service, or arbitrary code execution. This issue is fixed in jxl-grid version 0.6.2.

Aug 18, 2026libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder.CVE-2026-62377 · Other software · strukturag · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3
libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. In 1.23.0 and earlier, a crafted HEIF sequence accepted by heif_context_read_from_memory() can leave the context with no registered sequence tracks and crash when heif_context_get_track(ctx, 0) is called. HeifContext::get_track() in libheif/context.cc executes assert(has_sequence()) before its normal error handling, so assert-enabled builds abort instead of allowing the public wrapper in libheif/api/libheif/heif_sequences.cc to return null. In release builds, removing the assertion lets the track_id zero path dereference m_tracks.begin()->second on an empty map, which is undefined behavior and typically crashes. The issue is reachable through documented public APIs after parsing attacker-controlled bytes. This issue is fixed in version 1.23.1.

Aug 18, 2026libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder.CVE-2026-62292 · Other software · strukturag · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. From 1.19.0 until 1.23.1, a crafted uncompressed HEIF image using generic zlib unci full-item compression can crash an application that decodes an advertised tile with heif_image_handle_decode_image_tile(). In libheif/codecs/uncompressed/unc_decoder.cc, unc_decoder::fetch_tile_data() computes a large tile offset and unc_decoder::get_compressed_image_data_uncompressed() validates it with range_start_offset plus range_size. For the last advertised tile (4095, 4095), the addition can wrap to zero, bypass the bounds check, and pass an invalid source pointer and a one-terabyte length to memcpy. The observed result is an out-of-bounds read and process crash; opening the file alone does not trigger the issue because tile decoding is required. This issue is fixed in version 1.23.1.

Aug 18, 2026libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder.CVE-2026-62291 · Other software · strukturag · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. In 1.23.0 and earlier, a crafted image sequence with a 2x2 primary plane and a 256x256 auxiliary alpha plane can cause attacker-controlled heap corruption during a normal decode and re-encode workflow. Track_Visual::decode_next_image_sample() calls transfer_channel_from_image_as() without checking that the auxiliary alpha dimensions match the main frame. The resulting inconsistent image reaches heif_track_decode_next_image() and then heif_context_encode_image(). In unc_encoder::encode(), unc_encoder_component_interleave::encode_tile() sizes its buffer with compute_tile_data_size_bytes() using the primary dimensions but copies each component using its actual plane dimensions. The oversized alpha plane is therefore copied beyond the allocation, causing an out-of-bounds write; the inverse size mismatch can also produce an out-of-bounds read. This issue is fixed in version 1.23.1.

Aug 18, 2026libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder.CVE-2026-62289 · Other software · strukturag · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3
libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. In 1.23.0 and earlier, a crafted HEIF or AVIF file containing a clean aperture box can reduce an image dimension to zero and crash or corrupt tiling results when heif_image_handle_get_image_tiling(handle, 1, &tiling) is called. ImageItem::get_heif_image_tiling() returns already transformed dimensions, and process_image_transformations_on_tiling() applies the clean aperture transformation again. The second application passes zero to Box_clap::left_rounded(0), where image_width minus one underflows and constructs Fraction(0xFFFFFFFF, 2). Debug builds reach an assertion and abort, while release builds can return a corrupt crop and zero-width tiling result. The affected implementation spans libheif/image-items/image_item.cc, libheif/context.cc, and libheif/box.cc. This issue is fixed in version 1.23.1.

Aug 18, 2026libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder.CVE-2026-50142 · Other software · strukturag · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. From 1.19.0 until 1.23.0, a crafted HEIF sequence accepted by heif_context_read_from_memory() with the msf1 sequence brand can cause unbounded heap allocation. In libheif/sequences/seq_boxes.cc, Box_stsz::parse() applies max_sequence_frames only to variable-size samples, so fixed-size mode accepts an attacker-controlled sample_count without a bound. In libheif/sequences/track.cc, Track::load() also adds current_sample_idx and samples_per_chunk in 32-bit arithmetic, allowing the consistency check to be bypassed by wraparound. The resulting values reach the Chunk::Chunk() allocation path, which can consume gigabytes of memory and crash or stall the process through memory exhaustion. This issue is fixed in version 1.23.0.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/rockchip: inno-hdmi: Switch to drmm_kzalloc() Driver makes use of drmm_encoder_init() to initialize the encoder and automatically handle the cleanup by registering drm_encoder_cleanup() with drmm_add_action(). However, the internal structure containing the encoder part gets allocated with devm_kzalloc(), which happens while component_bind_all() is being called from Rockchip DRM driver. The component framework further ensures it is deallocated as part of releasing all the resources claimed during bind, which is triggered from component_unbind_all(). When the reference to the DRM device gets eventually dropped via drm_dev_put() in rockchip_drm_unbind(), drmm_encoder_alloc_release() attempts to access the now released encoder structure, leading to use-after-free. Ensure driver's internal structure is still reachable on encoder cleanup by switching from a device-managed allocation to a drm-managed one.

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: wwan: iosm: bound device offsets in the MUX downlink decoder mux_dl_adb_decode() walkCVE-2026-72029 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: wwan: iosm: bound device offsets in the MUX downlink decoder mux_dl_adb_decode() walks a chain of aggregated datagram tables using offsets and lengths taken from the modem. first_table_index, next_table_index, table_length, datagram_index and datagram_length are all device supplied le values. Only first_table_index was checked, and only for being non zero. The decoder then formed adth = block + adth_index and read the table header and the datagram entries with no bound against the received skb. A modem that reports an index or a length past the downlink buffer makes the decoder read out of bounds. The buffer is IPC_MEM_MAX_DL_MUX_LITE_BUF_SIZE and skb->len is at most that, so skb->len is the real limit, but none of these in band offsets were checked against it. The table chain is also followed with no forward progress check. The loop takes the next table from adth->next_table_index and stops only when that reaches zero. A modem can stage two tables that point at each other, so the loop never ends. It runs in softirq and clones the skb on every pass. Validate every device offset and length against skb->len

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: dce100: skip non-DP stream encoders for DP MST On DCE8-class ASICs (e.g.CVE-2026-68235 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: dce100: skip non-DP stream encoders for DP MST On DCE8-class ASICs (e.g. Bonaire), the resource pool contains digital DIG stream encoders plus one analog DAC encoder. When assigning a stream encoder for a second DisplayPort MST stream, if the preferred digital encoder is already acquired, dce100_find_first_free_match_stream_enc_for_link() falls back to the first free pool entry. That entry may be the analog encoder, whose funcs table lacks DP hooks such as dp_set_stream_attribute. The subsequent atomic commit then dereferences NULL function pointers in link_set_dpms_on() and crashes. Skip encoders without dp_set_stream_attribute when the stream uses a DP signal (including MST). Use dc_is_dp_signal(stream->signal) for the MST fallback path instead of checking only the link connector signal. Tested on: - GPU: AMD Radeon R7 260X (Bonaire / DCE8) - Board: Supermicro C9X299-PG300 - Setup: DP MST daisy chain, hotplug second monitor or have it connected on boot - Kernel: 7.1.3 (issue observed since 6.19) - Result: kernel oops without patch; dual monitors stable with patch (cherry picked from commit 2

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: chips-media: wave5: Move src_buf Removal to finish_encode During encoder processingCVE-2026-68228 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: chips-media: wave5: Move src_buf Removal to finish_encode During encoder processing, there is a case where the IRQ response could return the buffer back to userspace via v4l2_m2m_buf_done call. In this time, userspace could queue up this same buffer before start_encode removes the index from the ready queue. This would then lead to a case where the buffer in the ready queue could be a self loop due to the WRITE_ONCE(prev->next, new) call in __list_add. When __list_del is finally called, the loop is already made so nothing points back to ready queue list head and pointers are poisoned. A buffer should not be marked as DONE before the buffer is removed from m2m ready queue. Move removal entirely to finish_encode.

FFmpeg versions from 4.4 up to, but not including, 9.0 contain an out-of-bounds heap write vulnerability in the native GoPro CineForm HD (CFHD) decoder that allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory by supplying a crafted AVI file during stream probing. The cfhd_decode() function fails to enforce the non-Bayer logical output-width invariant in the transform-type-2 reconstruction path, causing horiz_filter_clip() to write oversized 16-bit sample rows far beyond the allocated output frame buffer, which can be escalated to arbitrary code execution via overwrite of a live cleanup callback pointer.

Aug 6, 2026FFmpeg versions from 0.5 up to, but not including, 9.0 contain an uninitialized heap memory disclosure vulnerability in the native TIFF decoder in libavcodec/tiCVE-2026-70631 · Other software · FFmpeg · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.8
FFmpeg versions from 0.5 up to, but not including, 9.0 contain an uninitialized heap memory disclosure vulnerability in the native TIFF decoder in libavcodec/tiff.c. An attacker who can cause FFmpeg to decode a crafted TIFF file can supply a valid Deflate-compressed strip that terminates successfully after producing fewer bytes than the declared strip requires. The tiff_unpack_zlib() function allocates a heap buffer sized for the full declared strip but copies all declared rows via memcpy() regardless of how many bytes zlib actually decompressed, causing unwritten bytes that can contain stale data from prior heap allocations to be incorporated into decoded image output and potentially exposing sensitive data in persistent services.

FFmpeg versions from 3.0 up to, but not including, 9.0 contain an uninitialized heap memory read vulnerability in the native Screenpresso decoder (libavcodec/screenpresso.c) that allows attackers to recover sensitive memory contents by supplying a crafted SPV1 packet with a valid zlib stream that decompresses fewer bytes than the full frame requires. The screenpresso_decode_frame() function fails to validate the produced byte count before calling av_image_copy_plane() to copy the complete frame dimensions from the persistent ctx->inflated_buf buffer, causing unwritten heap memory from prior allocations or prior frames to be copied into decoded output and potentially exposing sensitive data such as userspace addresses from persistent decoding services.

Aug 6, 2026FFmpeg versions from 3.0 up to, but not including, 9.0 contain an uninitialized heap memory read vulnerability in the native RSCC decoder (libavcodec/rscc.c) thCVE-2026-70629 · Other software · FFmpeg · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.8
FFmpeg versions from 3.0 up to, but not including, 9.0 contain an uninitialized heap memory read vulnerability in the native RSCC decoder (libavcodec/rscc.c) that allows attackers to disclose heap memory contents by supplying a crafted video file with a compressed tile that decompresses fewer bytes than the declared tile geometry requires. When rscc_decode_frame() calls av_image_copy_plane() without validating the decompressed byte count against the tile dimensions, the unwritten suffix of the persistent intermediate buffer ctx->inflated_buf is copied into the decoded frame, potentially exposing data from prior heap allocations or previous decoded frames in persistent decoding services.

Aug 5, 2026Neo4j's Bolt modern handshake decoder treats an overlong capability bit mask the same way it treats a truncated bit mask.CVE-2026-14587 · Other software · neo4j · reported by 3b236295-4ccd-4a1f-a1c1-a72eecc8d7b6Medium 5.5
Neo4j's Bolt modern handshake decoder treats an overlong capability bit mask the same way it treats a truncated bit mask. When an unauthenticated client sends a selected protocol version followed by 32 continuation bytes in the capability mask, the decoder resets the reader index and waits for more bytes instead of rejecting the protocol message and closing the channel. Because the same unread bytes remain at the front of the decoder buffer, appending a terminating byte later does not recover the connection. The decoder re-reads the same first 32 continuation bytes, returns without producing a handshake-finalization message, and leaves the channel open. This can be triggered before authentication by any client that can reach the Bolt connector.

Aug 1, 2026FreeRDP versions 3.28.0 and earlier contain an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the RDP6 planar RLE bitmap decoder functions planar_decompress_plane_rle and CVE-2026-67306 · Other software · FreeRDP · reported by VulnCheckMedium 5.3
FreeRDP versions 3.28.0 and earlier contain an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the RDP6 planar RLE bitmap decoder functions planar_decompress_plane_rle and planar_decompress_plane_rle_only in libfreerdp/codec/planar.c. Only the 1-byte control byte is bounds-checked; the subsequent 0–15 attacker-declared raw bytes are read without validating that the source buffer contains them. A malicious or compromised RDP server can send a truncated planar-encoded bitmap or surface update (reachable via both the Bitmap Update PDU and RDPGFX Surface Command paths) that causes the client to read past the end of the source buffer. The issue is fixed in FreeRDP 3.29.0.
