  • Oct 3, 2026Groundhogg — CRM, Newsletters, and Marketing Automation: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-97644 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The Groundhogg — CRM, Newsletters, and Marketing Automation plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation via Contact Identity Rebinding in all versions up to, and including, 4.9 The vulnerability exists because the `create_contact` function in the v3 REST endpoint (`POST /gh/v3/contacts`) is gated solely by the `add_contacts` capability and forwards the full request payload — including the security-bearing `user_id` column — into the upsert path of `Contacts_DB::add()`, which bypasses the ownership guard that `Contacts_DB::update()` enforces, allowing an attacker to rebind any existing contact record to an arbitrary WordPress user ID. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Sales Representative-level access and above to upsert their own contact row to point to an Administrator's user ID, then invoke the v4 email-test endpoint (`POST /gh/v4/emails/test`) — also accessible to the Sales Representative role via the `send_emails` capability — to generate an `{auto_login_url}` one-time permissions key bound to the rebound contact, and consume that link to call `wp_set_auth_cookie()` and gain a fully authenticated session as the WordPress Administrator.

  • Oct 2, 2026Divi Membership: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-19652 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8

The Divi Membership plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in versions up to, and including, 2.2.0. This is due to the `dmem_form_submit_handler()` function determining the new user's role by iterating all WordPress roles and calling `password_verify()` against an attacker-controlled bcrypt hash supplied in the `form_id` POST parameter, with no validation or whitelist of allowed roles. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to register a new account with the administrator role by submitting a locally computed bcrypt hash of `administrator` as `form_id`, and when `auto_login=on` is submitted, be immediately authenticated as that administrator in the same request, resulting in full site takeover. Exploitation requires a WordPress nonce, but that nonce is publicly emitted on any page rendering the Divi Membership registration form and is therefore obtainable by any unauthenticated visitor.

  • Oct 2, 2026Super Forms – Drag & Drop Form Builder: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-15897 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The Super Forms – Drag & Drop Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 6.3.316. This is due to the Register & Login add-on's before_email_success_msg() function, in its register_login_action='update' flow, trusting an attacker-supplied user_id value and passing it to wp_update_user() without any ownership or capability check. Because the super_save_form AJAX action also enforces no capability check, any authenticated user with Subscriber-level access and above can create the required malicious form (register_login_action='update' with register_login_user_id_update='true') and then submit it with user_id set to an administrator's ID along with a new user_pass/user_email. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to overwrite the credentials of arbitrary existing accounts — including administrators — resulting in account takeover and full site compromise.

  • Oct 1, 2026WPC Shop as a Customer for WooCommerce: Privilege escalationCVE-2026-95687 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The WPC Shop as a Customer for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation via account takeover in all versions up to, and including, 2.0.0 This is due to the plugin not properly validating the target user's role prior to issuing a new authentication session, allowing an authenticated attacker to log in as any WordPress Administrator by directly supplying an Administrator's user ID to the wpcsa_login endpoint and receiving a full Administrator session cookie without supplying the Administrator's password. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers to perform a direct session takeover, gaining full Administrator-level access to the site.

  • Oct 1, 2026ByteCoreStack – MCP Connector for AI Tools: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-19807 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The ByteCoreStack – MCP Connector for AI Tools plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.3 This is due to the `wp_update_user_meta` MCP tool in `execute_tool` gating writes solely with `current_user_can('edit_user', $uid)` — a check that WordPress core's `map_meta_cap` resolves to the `read` primitive when the target user ID matches the caller's own — while enforcing an incomplete meta key blocklist that covers only `user_pass`, `user_activation_key`, and `session_tokens`, leaving the `wp_capabilities` and `wp_user_level` meta keys entirely unprotected. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to elevate their privileges to Administrator by issuing a `wp_update_user_meta` call over the MCP JSON-RPC endpoint with `key=wp_capabilities` and an arbitrary role array such as `{'administrator': true}` targeting their own user ID, causing WordPress to load that account as an Administrator on the next request.

The Super Forms – Drag & Drop Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 6.3.316. This is due to the Register & Login add-on's before_email_success_msg() function whitelisting the client-submitted 'role' key and copying it into the user-data array that is passed directly to wp_insert_user(), without validating the submitted role against the administrator-configured register_user_role, without an allow-list, and without any current_user_can() capability check. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to register a new account with the Administrator role by injecting role=administrator into the data submitted to any published Super Forms registration form (register_login_action='register').

  • Sep 30, 2026Algorithm::AhoCorasick::XS versions through 0.04 for Perl read the haystack string length before the scalar is stringified.CVE-2026-80490 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441e

Algorithm::AhoCorasick::XS versions through 0.04 for Perl read the haystack string length before the scalar is stringified. The matches, first_match and match_details methods use the T_STD_STRING typemap to translate Perl scalars (SVs) into strings via the std::string constructor, using the SvPV macro to stringify the haystack input, and the SvCUR macro to determine the length of the SV. When the input SVs are references, integers (IVs) or floats (NVs), the SvCUR macro will return an invalid length if it is run before the input is stringified, leading to an out-of-bounds read which can abort the process. Note that the evaluation order of arguments to std::string is unspecified. Depending on the compiler, SvCUR may be run first and lead to an abort that cannot be caught within Perl. This can be triggered when the haystack is a numeric value, for example, my $ac = Algorithm::AhoCorasick::XS->new( [ "11", "22" ] ); $ac->matches( 211 ); This can occur when the haystack is the result of reading data from decoded JSON or a numeric database column. It can also be triggered when using a blessed object as a haystack.

  • Sep 30, 2026MISP contains a privilege escalation vulnerability in the tag collection creation and editing functionality.CVE-2026-103239 · Other software · MISP · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8High 8.6

MISP contains a privilege escalation vulnerability in the tag collection creation and editing functionality. The affected actions accepted the full HTTP request payload and passed it to a bulk-association save operation, which writes not only the intended tag collection record but also any associated model data present in the payload. A user holding the tag editor permission could craft a request that includes additional model data (such as User or Organisation records) alongside the tag collection fields. Because the save operation processed all associated models indiscriminately, the injected sibling records were written to the database, enabling the attacker to modify or create privileged accounts and escalate to site administrator. Preconditions: - An authenticated account with the tag editor permission (perm_tag_editor) - Network access to the MISP instance Impact: - Unauthorized creation or modification of User and Organisation records - Privilege escalation from tag editor to site administrator Affected versions: < 2.5.48

Issue summary: A non-constant-time optimized implementation of scalar point multiplication is used for SM2 private key operations on ARM64 and RISC-V platforms. Impact summary: An attacker able to measure the time taken by, or to observe the cache-line access pattern of SM2 signing or decryption on an affected platform can learn information about the secret scalar. CWE: CWE-208: Observable Timing Discrepancy Description: On ARM64 and RISC-V processors, the SM2 curve uses an optimized scalar multiplication implementation whose conditional branches and table look ups are chosen according to the bits of the secret scalar. The execution time and the cache-access pattern therefore depend on the long-term private key (during SM2 decryption) or the per-signature nonce (during SM2 signature generation), forming a timing and cache side-channel. FIPS Impact: no SM2 is not a FIPS algorithm and the optimized SM2 implementation is not part of the FIPS module. OpenSSL 4.0, 3.6, 3.5 and 3.4 are vulnerable to this issue on AArch64 and RISC-V. Issue summary: The generic elliptic-curve scalar multiplication used for ECDSA and SM2 signature operations with curves that do not have a dedicated implementation leaks information about the secret nonce through timing. Impact summary: An attacker able to measure signing times may learn information about the per-signature secret nonce, which over many signatures can, via a lattice / Hidden Number Problem attack, lead to recovery of the private key. CWE: CWE-208: Observable Timing Discrepancy Description: The generic elliptic-curve scalar multiplication used for curves that do not have a dedicated constant-time implementation pads the secret scalar with non-constant-time BIGNUM operations, so the time taken depends on the value of the secret scalar derived from the ECDSA and SM2 nonce. The leak is very small; observing it requires a large number of measurements. The effect is largest for curves whose group order lies on a machine-word boundary, such as brainpoolP384r1. Applications using ECDSA signing over the Brainpool and other generic prime curves, and SM2 signing on platforms that use the generic implementation, are vulnerable to this issue. • Sep 29, 2026Ghostscript for Windows is vulnerable to local privilege escalation through PostScript resource file hijacking.CVE-2026-19547 · Other software · Artifex Software Inc. · reported by cvd@cert.plHigh 7

Ghostscript for Windows is vulnerable to local privilege escalation through PostScript resource file hijacking. Due to the application searching for PostScript resource files in predictable paths under C:\\gs\\ that do not exist by default on Windows installations, combined with Windows default ACLs allowing any authenticated user to create directories at the root of C:\\, an attacker who is an authenticated local user can create the expected directory structure and plant a malicious PostScript file. When any user or service subsequently runs Ghostscript, the planted file is automatically loaded and executed with the full privileges of the Ghostscript process. This results in full compromise of Ghostscript process context, as well as running arbitrary code on the machine with Ghostscript process privileges. This issue was fixed in version 10.08.0.

  • Sep 28, 2026Nest is a framework for building scalable Node.js server-side applications.CVE-2026-102281 · Other software · nestjs · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

Nest is a framework for building scalable Node.js server-side applications. Prior to 11.2.4 and 12.0.2, a single message with a deeply nested object in its pattern can terminate a NestJS microservice using the TCP or RabbitMQ transport. ServerTCP#handleMessage and ServerRMQ#handleMessage pass a client-controlled non-string pattern to JSON.stringify to derive the handler lookup key; sufficiently deep nesting throws RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded, and the unhandled promise rejection terminates Node.js under its default behavior. An attacker who can reach the TCP port or publish to the consumed RabbitMQ queue or exchange can crash the service on demand; other transports are not affected because their patterns arrive as strings. This issue is fixed in versions 11.2.4 and 12.0.2.

  • Sep 26, 2026Groups – Memberships and Access Control: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-77203 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The Groups – Memberships and Access Control plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 4.6.0. This is due to the groups_join() function deriving group-join eligibility from the ambient post's author capabilities via the global $post->post_author rather than from the currently authenticated user's own capabilities, while simultaneously minting and returning a valid groups-join-data hash and WordPress nonce for the caller in the same response — eliminating all authorization barriers to self-enrollment. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to enroll themselves into any group including privileged groups carrying the groups_admin_groups capability, and to subsequently create and join a group containing every registered WordPress capability, effectively escalating their privileges to Administrator. Exploitation requires the attacker to supply an Administrator-authored post ID via the post_ID parameter of the authenticated wp_ajax_parse_media_shortcode handler in order to establish the privileged ambient post context used by the flawed authorization check.

  • Sep 26, 2026Grav CMS 2.0.14 through 2.0.24 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability in the group and account blueprints.CVE-2026-100670 · Other software · getgrav · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

Grav CMS 2.0.14 through 2.0.24 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability in the group and account blueprints. The access map is gated by a `security@: admin.super` guard that is resolved by the field's exact path, so a submitted flat dot-notation key such as `access.admin.super` (instead of the nested `access[admin][super]`) matches no blueprint rule, survives BlueprintSchema::filterArray() and flattening, and is written by FlexObject::update() via setNestedProperty(), which splits on `.` and reconstructs the nested value. An authenticated backend operator using the flex accounts backend who holds admin.users but not admin.super can therefore grant admin.super to their own account or to a group they belong to and escalate to full super-admin, gaining control over configuration, plugin and theme installation, the file manager, and all accounts. Fixed in 2.0.25, which drops any dotted key whose ancestor path is disabled or marked validate.ignore.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: don't downgrade half-dead scalar zero spills to STACK_ZERO states.c:__clean_func_state() can downgrade scalar zero spill to STACK_ZERO in the following case: *(u64 *)(r10 - 8) = 0; ... checkpoint ... r1 = *(u32 *)(r10 - 4); ... no reads from r10-8 ... Here 4 bytes at r10-8 are dead and verifier changes scalar spill to a combination: 0000pppp (p stands for poison). Such a change breaks precision propagation chains. All places that produce STACK_ZERO should call bpf_mark_chain_precision() for the zero source. This patch fixes the bug in a simplest way possible: avoids converting stack spills of zero to STACK_ZERO. Two smarter approaches are possible: - do bpf_mark_chain_precision() from __clean_func_state() - check slot liveness information in check_stack_write_fixed_off() I investigated both and the changes required are a bit tricky, hence go with a simple fix for the time being.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Mark signal tracepoint siginfo arguments as scalar The signal_generate and signal_delCVE-2026-98062 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Mark signal tracepoint siginfo arguments as scalar The signal_generate and signal_deliver tracepoints declare their info argument as a struct kernel_siginfo pointer. btf_ctx_access() therefore treats it as a trusted pointer for tp_btf programs. Signal delivery also uses SEND_SIG_NOINFO and SEND_SIG_PRIV as special values for this argument. Those values are zero and one respectively, and are not pointers. A tp_btf program can currently dereference either value and fault the kernel. In particular, signal_generate can run from timer interrupt context, turning the fault into a kernel panic. Record both tracepoints in raw_tp_null_args[] and mark argument one as a non-pointer. This preserves scalar access to the cookie while rejecting direct and helper-mediated pointer use. Merely marking it nullable would not suffice because SEND_SIG_PRIV is nonzero.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Don't resurrect a scalar id dropped by collect_linked_regs() check_cond_jmp_op() copiCVE-2026-98042 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Don't resurrect a scalar id dropped by collect_linked_regs() check_cond_jmp_op() copies the compared registers into env->{false,true}_reg{1,2} before collect_linked_regs() runs and copies those snapshots back into both branch states afterwards. collect_linked_regs() records at most LINKED_REGS_MAX members of a linked registers group in the jump history and calls clear_scalar_id() for every member that does not fit. The compared register is not exempt from that. As a consequence, sync_linked_regs() might adjust ranges for more registers than bpf_bt_sync_linked_regs() can propagate precision to. Collect the linked registers before the snapshots are taken instead. This might lead to some unnecessary clear_scalar_id's, but from previous testing situations with many linked registers are extremely rare.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Mark NULL kptr stores precise check_map_kptr_access() permits a scalar store into an CVE-2026-98034 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Mark NULL kptr stores precise check_map_kptr_access() permits a scalar store into an untrusted kptr field only when the register is known to contain zero. Unlike other verifier checks whose outcome depends on a scalar value, it does not mark that register precise. A state checkpoint reached with an imprecise zero can therefore prune a second path that reaches the store with an arbitrary nonzero scalar. The program can write attacker-controlled bits into the kptr field and load them back as a PTR_TO_BTF_ID. Call mark_chain_precision() before accepting a known-zero register. This forces state equivalence to compare its scalar range and makes the verifier visit and reject a path carrying a nonzero value.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject non-scalar bpf_loop iteration counts bpf_loop() declares its nr_loops argumentCVE-2026-98007 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Reject non-scalar bpf_loop iteration counts bpf_loop() declares its nr_loops argument as ARG_ANYTHING. Privileged programs may pass pointer values to such arguments, so check_func_arg() lets a pointer-valued R1 reach the helper-specific checks. Since commit bb124da69c47 ("bpf: keep track of max number of bpf_loop callback iterations"), the verifier marks R1 precise and reads its upper bound to limit callback simulation. Precision backtracking only accepts scalar registers, so passing a pointer instead triggers the "backtracking misuse" verifier warning. Kernels with panic_on_warn enabled subsequently panic. Introduce ARG_SCALAR for helper arguments that only accept scalar values and use it for bpf_loop() nr_loops. Generic helper argument validation then rejects pointers before loop inlining and precision processing.

The Optima Express IDX plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 8.7.5. This is due to the `provisionBlogCredentials()` function in `iHomefinderAdmin.php` being reachable via the `wp_ajax_nopriv_ihf_clear_cache` AJAX action — through the call chain `iHomefinderAjaxHandler::clearCache()` → `activateAuthenticationToken()` → `getAuthenticationInfo()` → `provisionBlogCredentials()` — with no capability check, nonce verification, or ownership validation, and the function unconditionally calling `$user->set_role('author')` on whichever WordPress account matches the hard-coded login `optima-express` via `get_user_by('login', 'optima-express')`. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to escalate a pre-registered `optima-express` account to the Author role, gaining `publish_posts`, `upload_files`, and `edit_published_posts` capabilities, including access to the plugin's own `/wp-json/optima-express/v1/blog-post` REST endpoint. • Sep 25, 2026Knit Pay – Cashfree, Instamojo, Razorpay, PayPal and more: Privilege EscalationCVE-2026-89426 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The Knit Pay – Cashfree, Instamojo, Razorpay, PayPal and more plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 9.6.1.0. This is due to the `maybe_update_user_role()` function reading the target role directly from an attacker-controlled Gravity Forms entry field — configured via the feed's `user_role_field_id` — and passing it to `WP_User::set_role()` without validating the supplied value against an allowlist of permitted roles. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to elevate their privileges to administrator by tampering with the hidden role field value at form submission time. Exploitation is further enabled by the fact that $0 orders are synchronously marked as SUCCESS during form submission without requiring a real payment, and when no GF User Registration user can be resolved, the role assignment target falls back to `$lead['created_by']` — the currently authenticated submitter's own user ID — making any authenticated form submitter an eligible exploitation target.
