PyMuPDF through 1.28.2, fixed in commit b2c8f3a, contains a path traversal vulnerability in the font branch of extract_objects() in src/__main__.py, where the output filename is constructed by joining a document-controlled BaseFont name directly onto the user-supplied output directory without stripping path separators or dot-dot sequences. Attackers can supply a crafted PDF, EPUB, XPS, or FB2 file with a BaseFont name containing encoded path separators that decode to ../ sequences or absolute paths, causing arbitrary file writes outside the intended output directory without requiring authentication or elevated privileges.

Sep 14, 2026WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents.CVE-2026-55073 · Other software · Kozea · reported by GitHubMedium 6.2
WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents. Prior to 70.0, server-side applications that configure a restrictive url_fetcher and pass attacker-influenced values to HTML.write_pdf() can have the restriction bypassed through the xmp_metadata or stylesheets options. In weasyprint/pdf/init.py, xmp_metadata calls select_source() without the document url_fetcher, allowing an accessible local file to be read and embedded verbatim in the output PDF. In weasyprint/document.py, stylesheets constructs CSS() without the document url_fetcher, allowing local or internal resource loading and propagating the permissive fetcher through nested CSS imports and url() references. The stylesheets channel applies fetched resources but does not by itself disclose stylesheet comments verbatim. This issue is fixed in version 70.0.

Sep 11, 2026Woo PDF Invoice Builder plugin (also distributed as "PDF Builder for WooCommerce"): Insecure Direct Object ReferenceCVE-2026-11496 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.5
The Woo PDF Invoice Builder plugin (also distributed as "PDF Builder for WooCommerce") for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 2.0.8. This is due to the InspectOrder() AJAX handler (woocommerce-pdf-invoice-ajax.php:513), registered on wp_ajax_rednao_wcpdfinv_inspect_order, performing no capability check and no nonce verification before loading an arbitrary order by the attacker-supplied 'OrderNumber' POST field and serializing its full WC_Order::get_data() and meta to the response. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to read every WooCommerce order on the site — including billing/shipping address, email, phone number, payment method, gateway transaction ID, and order totals — by iterating order IDs.

Snipe-IT versions before 8.7.0 fail to HTML-escape the employee_num field in the acceptance PDF generator, allowing attackers with users.edit permission to inject img tags into TCPDF's writeHTML() function. Sep 9, 2026Snipe-IT 8.6.3 and earlier do not check the return value of Storage::put() when writing the signature PNG and the generated acceptance PDF in Account\AcceptanceCVE-2026-86739 · Other software · grokability · reported by VulnCheckLow 2.3
Snipe-IT 8.6.3 and earlier do not check the return value of Storage::put() when writing the signature PNG and the generated acceptance PDF in Account\AcceptanceController::store(). On filesystem drivers that return false instead of throwing on a write failure (for example the local disk with restrictive permissions, S3 with expired credentials, or a storage backend that is out of quota), execution continues into $acceptance->accept(), which sets accepted_at and the signature_filename/eula_filename fields, creates the 'accepted' action-log entry, and dispatches completion notifications even though the evidence files were never stored. The result is an acceptance record marked complete whose supporting evidence files do not exist, yielding a materially incomplete compliance artifact for EULA acknowledgement or equipment-receipt workflows. The condition is triggered when an authenticated user completes an acceptance while the storage backend is silently failing writes; an attacker cannot directly force the storage backend into that state. Fixed in Snipe-IT 8.7.0.

Sep 5, 2026Dear Flipbook – PDF Flipbook, 3D Flipbook, PDF embed, PDF viewer: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-8625 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.4
The Dear Flipbook – PDF Flipbook, 3D Flipbook, PDF embed, PDF viewer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'post_content (Custom HTML block inner HTML)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.30 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. A Contributor-level attacker can insert a crafted .df-element div with data-df-lightbox='thumb' via a Custom HTML block, whose inner HTML is passed as the title argument to parseThumbs() at render time, enabling both innerHTML injection into a span element and attribute breakout via an onerror handler on a constructed img element.

This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The payload is embedded as a Base64-encoded JSON object in a CSS class name on a Custom HTML block; the frontend parseCSSElements() function decodes it client-side with atob() and JSON.parse() and renders the logo property as raw HTML, meaning no server-side or client-side sanitization intercepts the malicious script before DOM insertion.

RansomLook contains insufficient resource validation in the analysis PDF generation functionality. Analysis documents are converted from Markdown to HTML and passed to WeasyPrint for PDF rendering. Prior to the fix, WeasyPrint used its default URL fetcher, allowing resource references contained in an analysis to be resolved without restrictions. An authenticated attacker able to create or modify an analysis could embed crafted resource references using schemes such as file:// or http://. When the analysis was subsequently rendered as PDF, WeasyPrint would process these references with the privileges and network access of the RansomLook server. A malicious file:// reference could cause the renderer to access arbitrary files readable by the RansomLook process, potentially exposing sensitive configuration, credentials, or other local data through rendered resources. Network URLs could cause the server to initiate requests to localhost, internal network services, or external systems, resulting in server-side request forgery (SSRF) and potentially bypassing network-level access restrictions. The patch introduces a dedicated WeasyPrint URL fetcher that permits only data: resources, th

The unstructured library provides open-source components for ingesting and pre-processing images and text documents, such as PDFs, HTML, Word docs, and many more. From 0.4.7 until 0.24.0, the url argument of partition, partition_html, and partition_md is fetched without host validation in unstructured/partition/auto.py, unstructured/partition/html/partition.py, and unstructured/partition/md.py. An attacker who controls that URL can make a server-side ingestion service request loopback addresses, internal HTTP services, or cloud metadata endpoints through direct targets, redirects, or DNS rebinding. Aug 20, 2026SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows.CVE-2026-55586 · Other software · sumatrapdfreader · reported by GitHubMedium 6.6
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.6.1 and earlier, a crafted CHM file can supply malformed LZX Huffman code lengths to make_decode_table in ext/CHMLib/lzx.c. In the long-code branch, the function writes new internal nodes through next_symbol before validating that the canonical Huffman table has overflowed. The PRETREE case can write beyond the 104-entry PRETREE_table into adjacent heap state in struct LZXstate when reached through chm_open, chm_retrieve_object, LZXdecompress, and BUILD_TABLE. This produces heap memory corruption in the parser process, while arbitrary code execution has not been demonstrated. No fixed version is available as of this review.

Aug 19, 2026Gotenberg is a Docker-powered stateless API for PDF files.CVE-2026-45742 · Other software · gotenberg · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Gotenberg is a Docker-powered stateless API for PDF files. From 8.10.0 until 8.33.0, the newContext function in pkg/modules/api/context.go starts one errgroup.Go goroutine for each multipart downloadFrom entry and allows those goroutines to concurrently write to the shared ctx.files, ctx.diskToOriginal, and ctx.filesByField maps and slices. Go maps and slices are not safe for concurrent mutation, so a crafted multipart request containing many downloadFrom entries can trigger a data race and terminate the process with a fatal concurrent map writes runtime error. The default configuration enables downloadFrom and disables authentication, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to crash an exposed conversion service and cause a denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 8.33.0.

Aug 19, 2026Gotenberg is a Docker-powered stateless API for PDF files.CVE-2026-45741 · Other software · gotenberg · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Gotenberg is a Docker-powered stateless API for PDF files. In 8.32.0 and earlier, the IsPublicIP function in pkg/gotenberg/outbound.go does not reject the 2002::/16 6to4 prefix, the 64:ff9b::/96 and 64:ff9b:1::/48 NAT64 prefixes, the fec0::/10 deprecated site-local prefix, Teredo, and other transition prefixes that can embed or route to non-public IPv4 destinations. The addr.Unmap operation only handles IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses, so a crafted DNS AAAA record can cause the outbound HTTP client to treat an address wrapping an internal destination such as 169.254.169.254 as public. An unauthenticated attacker can use a conversion route with WithDenyPrivateIPs enabled to reach cloud metadata services, and the Chromium URL conversion route can return the internal response as a PDF, potentially exposing cloud credentials. Exploitation requires a deployment whose host routes the relevant IPv6 prefix, such as a dual-stack or NAT64-enabled environment. This issue is fixed in version 8.33.0.

Aug 19, 2026Gotenberg is a Docker-powered stateless API for PDF files.CVE-2026-44829 · Other software · gotenberg · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8
Gotenberg is a Docker-powered stateless API for PDF files. In 8.32.0 and earlier, filename handling in pkg/modules/api/context.go uses filepath.Base on Linux, which does not treat backslashes as path separators, so a multipart filename containing Windows-style parent directory components survives sanitization. The original filename flows through ctx.diskToOriginal and the multi-output PDF routes into archives.FilesFromDisk and archives.Zip.Archive as the generated zip entry name. A remote attacker can submit a name such as ........\Windows\System32\evil.pdf through an upload or an upstream downloadFrom Content-Disposition header, and a Windows archive extractor can write the resulting file outside the intended extraction directory. The affected paths include /forms/pdfengines/split and other multi-output PDF, LibreOffice, and conversion routes, and exploitation can cause arbitrary file writes on a downstream Windows system when a user or process extracts the returned archive. This issue is fixed in version 8.33.0.

Aug 19, 2026phpMyFAQ before 4.1.6 does not adequately sanitize HTML in FAQ answers before generating PDFs via TCPDF.CVE-2026-76210 · Other software · thorsten · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.1
phpMyFAQ before 4.1.6 does not adequately sanitize HTML in FAQ answers before generating PDFs via TCPDF. An attacker with permission to create or edit FAQ content can embed an <img> tag whose src references a local file under the web root's content/ directory (e.g., content/core/config/database.php). When the PDF is generated, phpMyFAQ attempts to read the referenced file; because it is not a valid image the resulting error is converted into an uncaught exception whose stack trace discloses part of the file's contents to any user who triggers the PDF export. By default the disclosed portion is truncated (zend.exception_string_param_max_len), but a larger configured value can result in disclosure of entire files, including database credentials.

Aug 18, 2026WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents.CVE-2026-49452 · Other software · Kozea · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents. Prior to 69.0, WeasyPrint embeds unescaped HTML presentational-hint attribute values into CSS in weasyprint/css/__init__.py when presentational_hints=True. The background attribute is inserted into a background-image:url() declaration and parsed by tinycss2.parse_blocks_contents(), allowing untrusted HTML to inject additional CSS declarations. Applications that render untrusted HTML with presentational hints enabled can be affected by CSS injection and server-side requests through injected url() values. This issue is fixed in version 69.0.

Aug 17, 2026Pandora is affected by a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the PDF download functionality.CVE-2026-75529 · Other software · pandora-analysis · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 6.9
Pandora is affected by a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the PDF download functionality. The /task-download/<task_id>/.../pdf endpoint verifies that the submitted file is a PDF using Pandora's content-based file-type detection, but previously returned the file using send_file(task.file.path) without explicitly specifying the MIME type or forcing it to be downloaded as an attachment. Because Flask determines the response MIME type from the filename when a path is supplied, an attacker could submit a file whose content is recognized by Pandora as a PDF while its filename or extension causes the download endpoint to return it with a different, potentially active MIME type. A specially crafted PDF/polyglot file could therefore be served inline and interpreted by a victim's browser as HTML or another executable web format. If a victim with access to the submitted analysis follows the PDF download link, attacker-controlled script could execute in the security context of the Pandora application, potentially allowing access to application data or actions using the victim's session. The patch prevents the issue by explicitly returning PDF downloads with Content-Type: ap

Aug 12, 2026PDF::WebKit versions through 1.2 for Perl allow OS command injection via a 2-arg open() of the output path in to_pdf and of stylesheet paths in _style_tag_for.CVE-2026-17431 · Other software · MITHALDU · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eMedium 6.1
PDF::WebKit versions through 1.2 for Perl allow OS command injection via a 2-arg open() of the output path in to_pdf and of stylesheet paths in _style_tag_for. to_pdf reads the generated PDF back from its path argument, and _style_tag_for reads each entry of the stylesheets list, by assigning the path to a local @ARGV and reading it with the diamond operator, which opens each @ARGV element with Perl's 2-arg open(). A value that begins or ends with a pipe ("| cmd", "cmd |") is run as a command rather than opened as a file, and one that begins with a redirect ("> path", ">> path") opens that path for write or append. to_file forwards its path argument to to_pdf and reaches the same read. Any caller that forwards untrusted input as the output path or as a stylesheets entry can run a command under the process UID; with the "cmd |" form the command's output is returned in place of the PDF, and with the "> path" form the named file is truncated. Stylesheets may only be added to an HTML source, so a URL or file source exposes the output path alone.
