  • Oct 28, 2026The GPIO syscall handlers in drivers/gpio/gpio_handlers.c did not validate the pin argument supplied by a user-mode caller.CVE-2026-82961 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgHigh 7.8

The GPIO syscall handlers in drivers/gpio/gpio_handlers.c did not validate the pin argument supplied by a user-mode caller. z_vrfy_gpio_pin_configure(), z_vrfy_gpio_pin_get_config() and z_vrfy_gpio_pin_interrupt_configure() verified only the device object (K_SYSCALL_DRIVER_GPIO() / K_SYSCALL_OBJ()) and then passed the caller-supplied gpio_pin_t straight through to z_impl_gpio_pin_*() and on to the driver. The only pin check in include/zephyr/drivers/gpio.h was __ASSERT(gpio_port_pin_is_supported(cfg->port_pin_mask, pin), ...), which compiles to nothing unless CONFIG_ASSERT is enabled, so in a production build no check existed at all. GPIO drivers use pin as a shift count and as an array index on the documented assumption that it is a pin the controller supports. On STM32, for example, gpio_stm32_pin_interrupt_configure() turns pin into an EXTI line and stm32_gpio_intc_set_irq_callback() writes data->cb[line_num].cb and data->cb[line_num].data into a NUM_EXTI_LINES-entry array (default 16) in drivers/interrupt_controller/intc_gpio_stm32.c, guarded only by a compiled-out __ASSERT_NO_MSG(); the same function then reads exti_irq_table[line_num] and calls irq_enable() on the result. • Oct 28, 2026A BSON encoding component of the MongoDB Java Driver does not verify that an externally supplied raw document's self-declared length agrees with the extent of tCVE-2026-118581 · Other software · MongoDB · reported by cna@mongodb.comMedium 6.9

A BSON encoding component of the MongoDB Java Driver does not verify that an externally supplied raw document's self-declared length agrees with the extent of the byte range it is given before that range is copied into an outgoing database command. An application that wraps untrusted raw bytes in such a document and uses it as part of a command can therefore emit a structurally inconsistent message, causing the database to interpret attacker-supplied trailing content as additional fields of the surrounding command. No authentication to the driver or database is required beyond the ability to influence those bytes through the victim application, and no user interaction is needed. The result is unintended modification of the command actually executed, which can alter the data read or written under the application's credentials.

  • Oct 28, 2026USB Test is a lightweight Windows CLI utility for verifying sector integrity and detecting overreported capacity on USB flash drives.CVE-2026-116776 · Other software · n-romanovich · reported by GitHubHigh 7

USB Test is a lightweight Windows CLI utility for verifying sector integrity and detecting overreported capacity on USB flash drives. Prior to version 1.1.5, getSectorSize() in USB Test/src/driveinfo.cpp trusts DISK_GEOMETRY.BytesPerSector returned by IOCTL_DISK_GET_DRIVE_GEOMETRY without checking whether the call succeeded or enforcing size bounds. USB Test/src/drivetest.cpp uses the value for division and to size a heap buffer before memcpy(buffer.data(), &sector, 8), so a physically connected malicious USB storage device can report a value below eight bytes and cause repeated out-of-bounds writes, or report zero and cause a divide-by-zero denial of service when a user starts a drive test. The heap corruption can crash the elevated application and may permit arbitrary code execution. This issue is fixed in version 1.1.5.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Drivers: hv: Don't reset VMBus connection state on error/exit paths In two places, current code forces vmbus_connection.conn_state to DISCONNECTED prior to calling vmbus_disconnect(). But vmbus_disconnect() calls vmbus_initiate_unload(), which unloads the VMBus connection only if the conn_state is CONNECTED. Consequently, the connection remains and the Hyper-V host might continue to send messages or post VMBus interrupts. The problem was introduced in commit 74347a99e73ae ("x86/Hyper-V: Unload vmbus channel in hv panic callback"), in that vmbus_initiate_unload() started checking the current connection state before doing the unload. This commit removed some occurrences where conn_state was forced to DISCONNECTED, but these two remained, apparently due to an oversight at the time. Fix this by not forcing conn_state to DISCONNECTED during VMBus exit, or if a failure occurs when establishing the connection in the first place. Whatever value conn_state has at the time is then read by vmbus_initiate_unload() to determine if there is a connection to be unloaded.

  • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: skip eviction of a BO with no resource xe_evict_flags() switches on tbo->resource-CVE-2026-99209 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: skip eviction of a BO with no resource xe_evict_flags() switches on tbo->resource->mem_type to choose an eviction placement. An xe BO can reach eviction with no ttm.resource, e.g. an imported dma-buf BO whose resource was freed during teardown while its attachment is still live: the exporter then invalidates it via xe_dma_buf_move_notify() -> xe_bo_evict(), and the switch dereferences a NULL resource and faults. A BO with no resource has nothing placed or mapped, so there is nothing to evict. Return an empty placement (num_placement = 0), mirroring the handling already used for non-xe scatter-gather BOs just above; ttm_bo_validate() then takes the pipeline-gutting path and returns 0. Without the fix the xe_dma_buf@xe_test_dmabuf_move_notify_no_resource dynamic live selftest will fail with below stack. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe/oa: Zero OA buffer at allocation ttm_bo_type_kernel BOs are not guaranteed to be zeroed on allocation and may contain data from previously freed pages. Since the OA buffer is mmap'able by userspace, this can expose stale kernel memory contents. Streams opened with DRM_XE_OA_PROPERTY_OA_DISABLED allocate the OA buffer without calling xe_oa_init_oa_buffer(). Zero the buffer at allocation to prevent information disclosure through mmap. The existing zeroing in xe_oa_init_oa_buffer() remains necessary for zero report-id/timestamp detection on enable/re-enable. (cherry picked from commit 126c4c5388f9311a390b9b254a835b0cf0f55331)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipc: drop the mqueue mount with kern_unmount() on setup failure mq_init_ns() creates the mqueue mount with fc_mount_longterm(), so its ->mnt_ns is MNT_NS_INTERNAL. When setting up the mqueue or ipc sysctls or msg_init_ns() fails afterwards, create_ipc_ns() drops it with a plain mntput(). With ->mnt_ns set that takes the fast path of mntput_no_expire(). The count drops to zero and nothing ever kills the mount, so the mount and the mqueue superblock are leaked. Commit dc55e35f9e81 ("ipc: Store mqueue sysctls in the ipc namespace") added the first failure path after mq_init_ns() and never dropped the mount. Commit 7229d74e5e8c ("ipc: create_ipc_ns: drop mqueue mount on sysctl setup failure") tried to fix that with a mntput() but that doesn't help for a long-term mount. Use kern_unmount(). free_ipc() open-codes the same thing for a namespace that made it.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: st: Fix use-after-free race between st_remove() and st_open() st_remove() drops the probe reference on the scsi_tape with kref_put() and only afterwards removes its index from st_index_idr. • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Fix NULL sink dereference in USB4 bandwidth functions allocate_usb4_bandwCVE-2026-99151 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Fix NULL sink dereference in USB4 bandwidth functions allocate_usb4_bandwidth_for_stream() and allocate_usb4_bandwidth() both use ASSERT(stream->sink) before dereferencing stream->sink->link. ASSERT is compiled out in production builds, so a NULL stream->sink causes a NULL pointer dereference. link_set_dpms_off() already guards two earlier accesses to stream->sink with explicit NULL checks, confirming that stream->sink can legitimately be NULL. The subsequent call to deallocate_usb4_bandwidth() had no equivalent guard. Replace the ASSERT() calls with proper NULL checks that return false early, and add a matching stream->sink guard at the call site in link_set_dpms_off() consistent with the surrounding pattern. v2: Keep the existing ASSERT() calls for diagnostics (to report unexpected NULL sink), and add explicit NULL checks that return false before dereferencing stream->sink. Also add a matching stream->sink guard at the deallocation call site in link_set_dpms_off(). (Alex) (cherry picked from commit 98029a0ce61feb52c563f65349dd9b25f672e355)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: keep the eviction fence until the last handle is closed amdgpu_gem_object_close() detaches the user queue eviction fence from the BO before it checks bo_va->ref_count, so closing any handle of a BO removes the fence, even when the file still has another handle to the BO and the bo_va with its GPU mappings stays. The BO can then be evicted without suspending the user queues of the file, which keep accessing it through mappings that are only marked for update. Seen on navi31 with a SDMA user queue: a BO opened twice in the same file (GEM_FLINK + GEM_OPEN) loses its eviction fence when the second handle is closed (traced attach/detach of the fence): attach bo=ffff8c78a6c84c00 GEM_CLOSE handle=7 detach bo=ffff8c78a6c84c00 while handle 6 and the mapping are still in use. Only detach the fence when the last reference to the bo_va goes away, matching amdgpu_gem_object_open(), which attaches it only when the bo_va is created. With this the fence stays until the file is closed. (cherry picked from commit 8387982f03d4026b7dc11b0b5e3118298eee4d6a)

  • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/exec: don't immediately add prelocked obj to array of locked objs When a contention isCVE-2026-99147 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/exec: don't immediately add prelocked obj to array of locked objs When a contention is detected the drm_exec object grabs a reference to the contended object, unlocks all other objects and pre-locks the contended one before anything else. The problem is that it is possible that this pre-locked object was about to be destroyed and drm_exec is now holding the last reference to it. So we never actually see this pre-locked object again to be explicitly locked and so also never reserve a slot for a dma_fence object on it. Should the driver now use drm_exec_for_each_locked_object() to add a new fence to all locked objects we eventually see a warning or even a BUG_ON() to prevent random memory corruption. Fix this by keeping the prelocked object out of the array of locked objs until it was explicitly mentioned by the driver again. If the prelocked object is never mentioned again by the driver just unlock and drop the reference at the end of the locking loop.

  • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: Don't transfer shrinker pages for pinned bos on purgeable state change Pinned bos CVE-2026-99145 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: Don't transfer shrinker pages for pinned bos on purgeable state change Pinned bos have their pages removed from the shrinker's shrinkable / purgeable counts on pin, and added back on unpin according to the bo's purgeable state at that time. However, xe_bo_set_purgeable_shrinker() unconditionally transfers pages between the shrinkable and purgeable counts. If the purgeable state of a pinned bo changes, for example by userspace madvising DONTNEED on a VMA of a bo that is also pinned as a scanout buffer, this underflows one count and, after unpin, leaves the other one permanently inflated. Only update the purgeable flag for pinned bos, and leave the page accounting to unpin. (cherry picked from commit afe6bc012034123fd838328668e609bf57e46bd3)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu/userq: actually validate userq BOs This was supposed to loop over the individual evicted list, as the kernel and always_valid evicted lists were already handled in amdgpu_vm_validate. Without this, BOs that were created and evicted before a userq was made would never end up in an eviction fence rearm. Also add the missing ref to the BO before drm_exec locks and refs it. • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: free the userptr ranges when a CS fails after parser_bos amdgpu_cs_parser_bos(CVE-2026-99106 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: free the userptr ranges when a CS fails after parser_bos amdgpu_cs_parser_bos() allocates an HMM range for every userptr entry of the BO list and looks up the user pages. Those ranges are only freed when amdgpu_cs_parser_bos() itself fails or when amdgpu_cs_submit() checks them under the notifier lock. If amdgpu_cs_patch_jobs(), amdgpu_cs_vm_handling(), amdgpu_cs_sync_rings() or the early part of amdgpu_cs_submit() fails, nothing frees them: neither amdgpu_cs_parser_fini() nor amdgpu_bo_list_free() touch e->range. Each such CS then leaks the range, its hmm_pfns array (8 bytes per page of the userptr BO) and the BO reference the range holds. An IB on a ring that patches the CS in place (e.g. VCN) with an unmapped va_start fails in amdgpu_cs_patch_ibs() and takes this path. Free the ranges on those error paths. Ranges amdgpu_cs_submit() already dropped are NULL, so freeing them again is a no-op. (cherry picked from commit c52a9542ed7cfd527feb938bd0accada2ac8d267)

When logging in to a Matrix account, Thunderbird used the homeserver address provided in the server's login response without validating it. A malicious or compromised homeserver could provide a file: URL, causing Thunderbird to send all further Matrix requests of that session to local files or, on Windows, to an attacker-controlled network share, which could leak the user's NTLM credentials. The NTLM credential leak only affects Thunderbird on Windows. Other operating systems are unaffected. This vulnerability was fixed in Thunderbird 159 and Thunderbird 153.6.
