Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix XDR padding calculation in ff_encode_getdeviceinfo nfsd4_ff_encode_getdeviceinfoCVE-2026-89673 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix XDR padding calculation in ff_encode_getdeviceinfo nfsd4_ff_encode_getdeviceinfo() computes the da_addr_body reservation as 16 + netid_len + addr_len, but the subsequent xdr_encode_opaque() calls emit 8 + round_up(netid_len, 4) + round_up(addr_len, 4) bytes. The mismatch means the declared da_addr_body length exceeds the actual encoded data by 2-8 bytes on every flexfile GETDEVICEINFO reply, leaking stale reply-page content to the client and mis-aligning the subsequent version list decode. Use xdr_align_size() for each string length to match what xdr_encode_opaque() actually writes.

Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: orangefs: fix double-free of trailer_buf on readdir copy failure On a readdir downcall, orCVE-2026-89498 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: orangefs: fix double-free of trailer_buf on readdir copy failure On a readdir downcall, orangefs_devreq_write_iter() frees op->downcall.trailer_buf with vfree() when copy_from_iter_full() fails, but does not clear the pointer before goto Efault. The waiter in do_readdir() is then woken with a negative status and frees the same pointer again on its r < 0 path, causing a deterministic double-free. A client holding /dev/pvfs2-req triggers it by sending a readdir downcall whose declared trailer_size exceeds the bytes it supplies. Clear the pointer after freeing so the readdir-side vfree() becomes a no-op.

Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: fix readdir position truncation on 32-bit kernels In ocfs2_dir_foreach_blk_el(), thCVE-2026-89490 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: fix readdir position truncation on 32-bit kernels In ocfs2_dir_foreach_blk_el(), the directory cookie position is rebuilt with ctx->pos = (ctx->pos & ~(sb->s_blocksize - 1)) | offset; `ctx->pos` is loff_t (signed 64-bit), while `sb->s_blocksize` is unsigned long. On 32-bit kernels unsigned long is 32-bit, so the mask ~(sb->s_blocksize - 1) is computed as a 32-bit unsigned value (e.g. 0xfffff000 for a 4 KiB block size). In the AND expression with the 64-bit `ctx->pos`, that unsigned operand is zero-extended to 64 bits per the usual arithmetic conversions, yielding 0x00000000fffff000. The high 32 bits of `ctx->pos` are silently cleared, even though directory size is allowed to exceed 4 GiB. When readdir() crosses the 4 GiB boundary on a 32-bit kernel the position is reset back into the first 4 GiB block, making the re-validation path re-enumerate already-returned dirents indefinitely. This is ocfs2_dir_foreach_blk_el(), the extent-list readdir path taken for all non-inline directories, so a directory large enough to cross 4 GiB reaches it. This is the same class of bug that commit 3dce5bb82c97 ("

Sep 9, 2026Velociraptor allows some sensitive artifacts to be gated by additional permissions.CVE-2026-19583 · Other software · Rapid7 · reported by cve@rapid7.comCritical 9.9
Velociraptor allows some sensitive artifacts to be gated by additional permissions. For example, the Linux.Sys.BashShell artifact allows arbitrary command execution on endpoints, and so it requires the EXECVE permission to schedule. However, no such check was implemented for client monitoring artifacts. Additionally there was no requirement that client monitoring artifacts carry the CLIENT_EVENTS type. This allows any user who can schedule client monitoring artifacts to also schedule otherwise restricted artifacts (such as Linux.Sys.BashShell).

@fastify/middie versions >= 9.1.0 and before 9.3.4 decide whether to run path-scoped middleware by matching against the raw request target, while the Fastify router resolves an absolute-form request target to its path before dispatching. Because the two layers evaluate different strings, a request using an absolute-form target reaches the route handler while the path-scoped middleware, such as authentication or authorization, is skipped. Sep 3, 2026FreeRDP versions 3.0.0 through 3.30.0 (before 3.31.0) transmit uninitialized heap memory in Save Session Info PDU reserved padding fields.CVE-2026-85089 · Other software · FreeRDP · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.1
FreeRDP versions 3.0.0 through 3.30.0 (before 3.31.0) transmit uninitialized heap memory in Save Session Info PDU reserved padding fields. Three PDU writers in libfreerdp/core/info.c (rdp_write_logon_info_v2, rdp_write_logon_info_plain, and rdp_write_logon_info_ex) use Stream_Seek instead of Stream_Zero for reserved pad bytes (up to 576 bytes), leaving previously freed heap contents in the outgoing PDU. Because the send buffer is allocated with malloc (not zeroed), stale heap data — which may include cleartext credentials from prior sessions — can be sent to the receiving peer. FreeRDP-based servers using rdpUpdate::SaveSessionInfo and freerdp-proxy (which forwards these PDUs) are affected, allowing disclosure of server/proxy process memory to a downstream client.

Sep 3, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: remove CAP_SYS_RAWIO zero-padding in dev_validate_header dev_validate_header() reads CVE-2026-80731 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: remove CAP_SYS_RAWIO zero-padding in dev_validate_header dev_validate_header() reads dev->hard_header_len directly when zero-padding short link layer headers for CAP_SYS_RAWIO holders: if (capable(CAP_SYS_RAWIO)) { memset(ll_header + len, 0, dev->hard_header_len - len); return true; } Packet send paths call dev_validate_header() on skbs whose headroom was allocated from an earlier hard_header_len read. If the device is reconfigured so that dev->hard_header_len increases before validation, the memset writes past the reserved buffer, an out-of-bounds write. This out-of-bounds write is masked in some SOCK_RAW paths today because the same concurrent increase can first make skb_push() exceed the reserved headroom and trigger skb_under_panic(). Remove the zero-padding branch before making those hard_header_len reads consistent, so the snapshot fixes do not turn a loud panic into a silent overwrite. This path is only reached for variable length L2 protocols, where len < hard_header_len but len >= min_header_len. No remaining in-tree variable length L2 protocol implements header_ops->vali

Issue summary: The OpenSSL Certificate Management Protocol (CMP) caches additional certificates (extraCerts) sent in a CMP message, but never expunges them (for instance if they are invalid). If a server reuses an OSSL_CMP_CTX frequently, this cache of extraCerts may grow unboundedly, and a malicious client may flood a CMP server with requests driving this growth. Impact summary: Users utilizing a CMP server that reuses a single OSSL_CMP_CTX for the lifetime of a server process may observe unbounded memory growth in the event a malicious client repeatedly sends requests containing unique extra certificates, which may lead to OOM conditions. CWE: CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling Description: If a remote user sends CMP messages to a server with a list of extraCerts and the message is rejected, the extraCerts from the message remains in the server contexts untrusted certificate stack. This exposes servers with long lived ctx objects to Denial of Service attacks in which an attacker sends messages intending to be rejected with a large list of additional certificates repeatedly, forcing the server to store them indefinitely. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: Fix use-after-free in cifs_try_adding_channels() cifs_try_adding_channels() takes a temporary reference to an interface before dropping iface_lock. If cifs_ses_add_channel() fails, it drops that reference and then increments iface->weight_fulfilled. A concurrent interface list refresh can remove the list reference while channel creation is in progress. In that case, the failure-path kref_put() releases the last reference and frees iface. Updating weight_fulfilled afterward then accesses freed memory. Increment weight_fulfilled before dropping the temporary reference, keeping iface alive for the final access.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: fix use-after-free of cached ASCONF chunk addip_last_asconf caches the outstanding outbound ASCONF chunk. The normal ASCONF-ACK completion path releases the chunk and clears the pointer. However, sctp_asconf_queue_teardown() releases the cached chunk without clearing addip_last_asconf. During peer restart handling, sctp_sf_do_dupcook_a() queues SCTP_CMD_PURGE_ASCONF_QUEUE, which invokes sctp_asconf_queue_teardown() while the association remains alive and leaves the pointer dangling. A delayed authenticated ASCONF-ACK can then reach sctp_sf_do_asconf_ack(), which accesses the stale chunk and passes it to sctp_process_asconf_ack(), causing a use-after-free and a second release. Clearing the pointer exposes a race with T4 expiry. Peer restart handling queues the timer stop before the purge, but SCTP_CMD_TIMER_STOP uses timer_delete(), which does not wait for a callback already running on another CPU. Such a callback can reach sctp_sf_t4_timer_expire() after the purge and dereference NULL. Clear addip_last_asconf after releasing the cached chunk, and make sctp_sf_t4_timer_expire() consume a stale T4 expiry

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: adm1275: Prevent reading uninitialized stack While adding support for the ROHM BD127X0 hot-swap controllers, sashiko reported an error in device-name comparison, which can lead to reading uninitialized stack memory. Quoting Sashiko: This is a pre-existing issue, but I noticed that just before this block in adm1275_probe(), there might be an out-of-bounds stack read: ret = i2c_smbus_read_block_data(client, PMBUS_MFR_MODEL, block_buffer); if (ret < 0) { ... } for (mid = adm1275_id; mid->name[0]; mid++) { if (!strncasecmp(mid->name, block_buffer, strlen(mid->name))) break; } Since i2c_smbus_read_block_data() reads up to 32 bytes into the uninitialized stack array block_buffer without appending a null terminator, strncasecmp() could read past the valid bytes returned in ret. For example, if the device returns a shorter string like "adm12", checking it against "adm1275" up to the length of "adm1275" will continue reading into uninitialized stack bounds. Prevent reading uninitialized memory by zeroing the stack array.

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iomap: guard io_size EOF trim against concurrent truncate underflow iomap: fix zero paddinCVE-2026-72367 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iomap: guard io_size EOF trim against concurrent truncate underflow iomap: fix zero padding data issue in concurrent append writes changed ioend accounting so that io_size tracks only valid data within EOF. This trims io_size when a writeback range extends past end_pos: ioend->io_size += map_len; if (ioend->io_offset + ioend->io_size > end_pos) ioend->io_size = end_pos - ioend->io_offset; However, if end_pos ends up below ioend->io_offset, the subtraction becomes negative and is stored in size_t io_size, causing an unsigned wrap to a huge value. This can happen when writeback continues past byte-level EOF up to a block-aligned range, or when a concurrent truncate shrinks the file after end_pos was sampled in iomap_writeback_handle_eof(). A wrapped io_size can mislead append detection and corrupt completion-time size handling, since filesystem end_io paths consume io_size for decisions such as on-disk EOF updates and unwritten/COW completion ranges. Fix this by clamping io_size to zero when EOF has moved to or before the ioend start offset. This preserves the original intent of trimming io_s

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: orangefs: keep the readdir entry size 64-bit in fill_from_part() fill_from_part() computes the size of a directory entry in size_t but stores it in a __u32. An entry length near U32_MAX wraps it to a small value, bypasses the bounds check, and is then used to index the entry, reading far past the directory part -- an out-of-bounds read that oopses the kernel. Compute the size as a u64 so it cannot truncate; the bounds check then rejects the entry. The trailer is supplied by the userspace client.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm_mpam: guard MBWU state before adding it to garbage __destroy_component_cfg() adds each RIS mbwu_state object to the MPAM garbage list when destroying component configuration. However, mbwu_state is allocated per RIS and only for RISes with MBWU monitors. A component can therefore have comp->cfg allocated while some RISes still have ris->mbwu_state set to NULL. Passing a NULL mbwu_state to add_to_garbage() dereferences the NULL pointer inside the macro. Skip RISes that do not have an mbwu_state object before adding them to the garbage list.

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: initialize standalone TCP-AO response padding tcp_v4_send_ack() and tcp_v6_send_respoCVE-2026-68119 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: initialize standalone TCP-AO response padding tcp_v4_send_ack() and tcp_v6_send_response() construct standalone TCP responses with TCP-AO options. The option length carries the actual MAC length, but the TCP header length includes the option rounded up to a four-byte boundary. tcp_ao_hash_hdr() writes the MAC only. Thus, when the MAC length is not four-byte aligned, the one to three bytes after the MAC are left uninitialized and may be transmitted. For the normal TCP-AO hashing mode, those bytes also have to be initialized before computing the MAC. Initialize only the alignment padding in the TCP-AO branches, before hashing the header. Use TCPOPT_NOP, as in the normal TCP-AO output path. This avoids adding work to non-AO TCP responses while preserving a valid authenticated header.
