In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: mpi3mr: Avoid memcpy field-spanning write WARNING When the "storcli2 show" command is executed for eHBA-9600, mpi3mr driver prints this WARNING message: memcpy: detected field-spanning write (size 128) of single field "bsg_reply_buf->reply_buf" at drivers/scsi/mpi3mr/mpi3mr_app.c:1658 (size 1) WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 12760 at drivers/scsi/mpi3mr/mpi3mr_app.c:1658 mpi3mr_bsg_request+0x6b12/0x7f10 [mpi3mr] The cause of the WARN is 128 bytes memcpy to the 1 byte size array "__u8 replay_buf[1]" in the struct mpi3mr_bsg_in_reply_buf. The array is intended to be a flexible length array, so the WARN is a false positive. To suppress the WARN, remove the constant number '1' from the array declaration and clarify that it has flexible length. Also, adjust the memory allocation size to match the change.

  • May 23, 2024In Eclipse Ditto versions 3.0.0 to 3.5.5, the user input of several input fields of the Eclipse Ditto Explorer User Interface https://eclipse.dev/ditto/user-inCVE-2024-5165 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgMedium 6.5

In Eclipse Ditto versions 3.0.0 to 3.5.5, the user input of several input fields of the Eclipse Ditto Explorer User Interface https://eclipse.dev/ditto/user-interface.html was not properly neutralized and thus vulnerable to both Reflected and Stored XSS (Cross Site Scripting). Several inputs were not persisted at the backend of Eclipse Ditto, but only in local browser storage to save settings of "environments" of the UI and e.g. the last performed "search queries", resulting in a "Reflected XSS" vulnerability. However, several other inputs were persisted at the backend of Eclipse Ditto, leading to a "Stored XSS" vulnerability. Those mean that authenticated and authorized users at Eclipse Ditto can persist Things in Ditto which can - when being displayed by other users also being authorized to see those Things in the Eclipse Ditto UI - cause scripts to be executed in the browser of other users.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: blk-mq: make sure active queue usage is held for bio_integrity_prep() blk_integrity_unregister() can come if queue usage counter isn't held for one bio with integrity prepared, so this request may be completed with calling profile->complete_fn, then kernel panic. Another constraint is that bio_integrity_prep() needs to be called before bio merge. Fix the issue by: - call bio_integrity_prep() with one queue usage counter grabbed reliably - call bio_integrity_prep() before bio merge

  • May 19, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sysv: don't call sb_bread() with pointers_lock held syzbot is reporting sleep in atomic coCVE-2023-52699 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.3

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sysv: don't call sb_bread() with pointers_lock held syzbot is reporting sleep in atomic context in SysV filesystem [1], for sb_bread() is called with rw_spinlock held. A "write_lock(&pointers_lock) => read_lock(&pointers_lock) deadlock" bug and a "sb_bread() with write_lock(&pointers_lock)" bug were introduced by "Replace BKL for chain locking with sysvfs-private rwlock" in Linux 2.5.12. Then, "[PATCH] err1-40: sysvfs locking fix" in Linux 2.6.8 fixed the former bug by moving pointers_lock lock to the callers, but instead introduced a "sb_bread() with read_lock(&pointers_lock)" bug (which made this problem easier to hit). Al Viro suggested that why not to do like get_branch()/get_block()/ find_shared() in Minix filesystem does. And doing like that is almost a revert of "[PATCH] err1-40: sysvfs locking fix" except that get_branch() from with find_shared() is called without write_lock(&pointers_lock).

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: use timestamp to check for set element timeout Add a timestamp field at the beginning of the transaction, store it in the nftables per-netns area. Update set backend .insert, .deactivate and sync gc path to use the timestamp, this avoids that an element expires while control plane transaction is still unfinished. .lookup and .update, which are used from packet path, still use the current time to check if the element has expired. And .get path and dump also since this runs lockless under rcu read size lock. Then, there is async gc which also needs to check the current time since it runs asynchronously from a workqueue.

  • May 2, 2024Delete Custom Fields: Cross-Site Request ForgeryCVE-2024-0613 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.1

The Delete Custom Fields plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 0.3.1. • May 1, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal/debugfs: Add missing count increment to thermal_debug_tz_trip_up() The count fieldCVE-2024-27006 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal/debugfs: Add missing count increment to thermal_debug_tz_trip_up() The count field in struct trip_stats, representing the number of times the zone temperature was above the trip point, needs to be incremented in thermal_debug_tz_trip_up(), for two reasons. First, if a trip point is crossed on the way up for the first time, thermal_debug_update_temp() called from update_temperature() does not see it because it has not been added to trips_crossed[] array in the thermal zone's struct tz_debugfs object yet. Therefore, when thermal_debug_tz_trip_up() is called after that, the trip point's count value is 0, and the attempt to divide by it during the average temperature computation leads to a divide error which causes the kernel to crash. Setting the count to 1 before the division by incrementing it fixes this problem. Second, if a trip point is crossed on the way up, but it has been crossed on the way up already before, its count value needs to be incremented to make a record of the fact that the zone temperature is above the trip now. Without doing that, if the mitigations applied after crossing the trip

  • May 1, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fat: fix uninitialized field in nostale filehandles When fat_encode_fh_nostale() encodes fCVE-2024-26973 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fat: fix uninitialized field in nostale filehandles When fat_encode_fh_nostale() encodes file handle without a parent it stores only first 10 bytes of the file handle. However the length of the file handle must be a multiple of 4 so the file handle is actually 12 bytes long and the last two bytes remain uninitialized. This is not great at we potentially leak uninitialized information with the handle to userspace. Properly initialize the full handle length.
