In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ecryptfs: reject too-small tag 70 packets ecryptfs_parse_tag_70_packet() subtracts fixed metadata fields from the parsed packet body size to derive the encrypted filename size. A malformed packet with a body smaller than those fixed fields can underflow that size calculation. Reject tag 70 packets before the subtraction unless the body contains the signature, cipher code, and at least one byte of encrypted filename data.

  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath6kl: clamp assoc request/response lengths before subtracting IE offsets ath6kl_cfCVE-2026-89524 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath6kl: clamp assoc request/response lengths before subtracting IE offsets ath6kl_cfg80211_connect_event() subtracts fixed IE offsets from assoc_req_len (-= 4) and assoc_resp_len (-= 6), both u8, with no lower bound. The aggregate check recently added to ath6kl_wmi_connect_event_rx() bounds the declared lengths from above (their sum must fit the received event), but an assoc request/response shorter than its fixed offset still underflows here: the u8 wraps to ~250, and cfg80211_connect_result() / cfg80211_roamed() then treat that wrapped value as the IE length and copy that many bytes out of the small assoc_info buffer to user space via nl80211, disclosing adjacent slab memory. Clamp both lengths to their offsets before subtracting. Found by 0sec (https://0sec.ai) using automated source analysis; the missing lower bound is evident from source. Compile-tested.

  • Sep 11, 2026When tarfile extracts a link on a system that doesn't support links, it falls back to extracting a member from the archive.CVE-2026-87910 · Other software · Python Software Foundation · reported by cna@python.orgMedium 5.7

When tarfile extracts a link on a system that doesn't support links, it falls back to extracting a member from the archive. In this case, the filter function is run twice: once for the extracted member, and once with name set to the location of the link. For one of the calls, the return value was ignored. • Sep 9, 2026Pandora contains a path traversal vulnerability in its archive extraction worker.CVE-2026-88069 · Other software · pandora-analysis · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Critical 9.3

Pandora contains a path traversal vulnerability in its archive extraction worker. When processing a specially crafted archive or disk image, attacker-controlled file paths could be used without ensuring that the resulting destination remained within the intended extraction directory. An attacker able to submit a malicious file for analysis could use path traversal sequences or crafted paths to cause extracted content to be written outside the designated extraction directory, potentially overwriting files accessible to the Pandora worker process. Successful exploitation could result in unauthorized modification of application or system files, denial of service, and potentially further compromise depending on the permissions of the Pandora process and the files that can be overwritten. The vulnerability is addressed by resolving each extraction destination path before writing and verifying that it remains below the expected extraction directory. Extraction attempts resolving outside this directory are rejected and reported as path traversal attempts.

  • Sep 8, 2026The OpenAPI.NET SDK contains a useful object model for OpenAPI documents in .NET along with common serializers to extract raw OpenAPI JSON and YAML documents frCVE-2026-72923 · Computers, phones & browsers · microsoft · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

The OpenAPI.NET SDK contains a useful object model for OpenAPI documents in .NET along with common serializers to extract raw OpenAPI JSON and YAML documents from the model. In Microsoft.OpenApi.Readers versions before 1.6.30 and Microsoft.OpenApi.YamlReader from 2.0.0-preview.11 through 2.11.0 and 3.0.0 through 3.9.0, parsing a YAML OpenAPI document with nested anchors and aliases can consume uncontrolled memory. SharpYaml represents aliases as shared nodes in a small directed acyclic graph, but conversion to independent OpenAPI or System.Text.Json.Nodes.JsonNode trees duplicates every aliased path; without a node-count or nesting-depth limit, N nested anchors referenced k times can require k^N materialized nodes and terminate the process through an out-of-memory condition. The fixed readers bound materialization to 5,000,000 nodes and a nesting depth of 64 by default and report an OpenApiDiagnostic error when a limit is exceeded. This vulnerability is fixed in Microsoft.OpenApi.Readers 1.6.30 and Microsoft.OpenApi.YamlReader 2.12.0 and 3.10.0.

  • Sep 4, 2026undici's cache interceptor documents that only safe HTTP methods are cached, but its logic to skip caching is built by subtracting the configured methods from tCVE-2026-85008 · Other software · undici · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbLow 3.7

undici's cache interceptor documents that only safe HTTP methods are cached, but its logic to skip caching is built by subtracting the configured methods from the set of safe methods, so an unsafe method such as POST, PUT, or DELETE is never placed in the skip list and instead falls through to the full cache-read path. The response-storage gate also lacked a method check, so a response to an unsafe request that is heuristically cacheable or carries an explicit Cache-Control directive is stored and later replayed from cache. Because response headers from a remote origin are untrusted, an origin can answer once with a cacheable status and then have the client's own subsequent state-changing requests to that path served from the stale cache entry without ever reaching the origin, an integrity failure that occurs under the interceptor's default configuration. This affects undici versions from 7.0.0 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

  • Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: nci: add data_len bound checks to activation parameter extractors nci_extract_activatCVE-2026-80796 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: nci: add data_len bound checks to activation parameter extractors nci_extract_activation_params_iso_dep() and nci_extract_activation_params_nfc_dep() read an inner length byte from the NCI RF_INTF_ACTIVATED_NTF payload and use it to memcpy() into fixed kernel buffers, but neither function receives the caller-validated activation_params_len. A crafted NCI notification with activation_params_len=1 and an inner length byte of up to 20 (NFC-A) or 50 (NFC-B) causes memcpy() to read that many bytes past the one valid byte in the activation params region -- a slab out-of-bounds read of kernel memory adjacent to the NCI skb. The sibling nci_extract_rf_params_*() family was given equivalent protection by commit 571dcbeb8e63 ("net: nfc: nci: Fix parameter validation for packet data"), but the two activation parameter extractors were not updated at that time. Add a data_len parameter to both functions, guard against an empty region before consuming the inner length byte, decrement the remaining count after consuming it, and clamp the copy length to what is actually available. Update both call sites to pass ntf.acti

  • Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: reject undersized MTUs in ip_do_fragment() ip_do_fragment() subtracts the IPv4 headeCVE-2026-80793 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: reject undersized MTUs in ip_do_fragment() ip_do_fragment() subtracts the IPv4 header length from the effective MTU and passes the resulting payload MTU to ip_frag_next(). If the effective MTU is smaller than hlen + 8, ip_frag_next() rounds the fragment payload length down to zero. The fragmentation state then never makes forward progress: state->left, state->ptr and state->offset stay unchanged while ip_do_fragment() keeps allocating and transmitting header-only fragments until the softlockup detector fires. This is reproducible with a route installed using "mtu lock 20", but it is also reproducible without route MTU lock, for example by forwarding a packet to a device whose MTU is 20. Fix it in ip_do_fragment() by rejecting mtu < hlen + 8 with -EMSGSIZE, matching the existing IPv6 fragmentation check.

  • Sep 2, 2026PREVAIL is a Polynomial-Runtime EBPF Verifier using an Abstract Interpretation Layer.CVE-2026-53706 · Other software · vbpf · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

PREVAIL is a Polynomial-Runtime EBPF Verifier using an Abstract Interpretation Layer. Prior to version 0.2.4, the prevail eBPF verifier accepts ALU32 ADD and SUB instructions that operate on pointer-typed registers without checking the is64 flag. Because ALU32 arithmetic zero-extends the 32-bit result, the upper half of any pointer is silently destroyed at runtime, yet prevail marks the program as verified safe. Any caller that can submit an eBPF program for verification — including unprivileged users on kernels that permit BPF program loading — can produce a program that passes verification but faults or misbehaves at runtime. This issue has been patched in version 0.2.4.

PREVAIL is a Polynomial-Runtime EBPF Verifier using an Abstract Interpretation Layer. Prior to version 0.2.4, the abstract transformer in prevail treats writes through a T_CTX-typed base register as a silent no-op: do_mem_store in src/crab/ebpf_transformer.cpp only models T_STACK stores, and the checker's T_CTX bounds arm never tests AccessType::write. An attacker can craft an eBPF program that overwrites a context field (e.g., ctx->data), reload that field typed as T_PACKET, and dereference an attacker-controlled address — and prevail will report the program as safe. This issue has been patched in version 0.2.4.

PREVAIL is a Polynomial-Runtime EBPF Verifier using an Abstract Interpretation Layer. Prior to version 0.2.4, in the Prevail eBPF verifier, EbpfTransformer::add() silently skips offset-variable updates when the destination register carries a non-singleton typeset (two or more simultaneously possible pointer types). • Sep 1, 2026In FIPS mode, Libreswan's add_decoded_cert() function calls CERT_ExtractPublicKey() and asserts that the result is not NULL.CVE-2026-14957 · Other software · The Libreswan Project · reported by d42dc95b-23f1-4e06-9076-20753a0fb0dfHigh 7.5

In FIPS mode, Libreswan's add_decoded_cert() function calls CERT_ExtractPublicKey() and asserts that the result is not NULL. However, CERT_ExtractPublicKey() returns NULL when public key extraction fails, for example if the RSA exponent is set to 0. A remote attacker can send a malformed X.509 certificate in a CERT payload to trigger the assertion, causing the pluto daemon to abort and restart. Continued exploitation causes a denial of service. No remote code execution is possible. Both IKEv1 and IKEv2 are affected. The vulnerability is only exploitable when both the OS and libreswan are running in FIPS mode and at least one CA certificate is loaded. The CERT payload is processed before peer authentication, so no credentials are needed to exploit this. Configurations using only PreSharedKey (PSK) authentication with no CA certificates loaded in the NSS database are not vulnerable.

A relative path traversal issue in the zip extraction functionality in AWS diagram-as-code (awsdac) in versions 0.10 through 0.23 can allow a third party to write arbitrary files to the local filesystem via crafted zip entry names containing path traversal sequences. This could allow the third party to perform inappropriate actions in the diagram bundle. To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to the version 0.24 or later.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethernet: ti: am65-cpsw-nuss: Fix port_id extraction from SRC TAG On the packet reception path, the ID of the MAC Port on which the packet was received, is embedded in the RX DMA Descriptor's metadata. The ID is extracted using the helper function cppi5_desc_get_tags_ids() which fills in the 16-bit Source Tag into the 'port_id' variable. However, it is only the lower 8-bits of the 16-bit Source Tag that represent the MAC Port ID, while the upper 8-bits are Hardware-Reserved and carry an arbitrary value. With the existing logic, sporadic kernel crash is observed due to the subsequent driver code accessing out-of-bound memory because of an invalid port_id. Hence, fix the port_id extraction logic to use only the lower 8-bits of the Source Tag as the MAC Port ID.

  • Aug 26, 2026LeafWiki extracts an uploaded ZIP archive without limiting how much data it will write.CVE-2026-80189 · Other software · perber · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.1

LeafWiki extracts an uploaded ZIP archive without limiting how much data it will write. ZipExtractor.ExtractToDir in internal/importer/zip_extractor.go opens each entry and copies it to the destination with io.Copy, which runs to the end of the decompressed stream, so only the size of the uploaded archive is bounded and the size it expands to is not. The import route that reaches this code requires the Editor or Admin role, and the upload itself is capped at 500 MiB compressed. Because a ZIP entry can compress at a very high ratio, an archive well inside that cap can expand to hundreds of gigabytes as it is written out. The extraction directory defaults to a location under the operating system temporary directory, so the written data consumes the disk backing that path, which on a tmpfs-backed temporary directory is memory. A user holding the Editor role can therefore exhaust the storage the service depends on and keep it from serving, using far more resource than the upload limit alone would permit.

  • Aug 24, 2026A path traversal vulnerability was found in AWX's project archive extraction.CVE-2026-71364 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.2

A path traversal vulnerability was found in AWX's project archive extraction. The project_archive action plugin extracts zip and tar archive members by joining the project directory path with the member filename without performing path normalization, boundary validation, or rejecting directory traversal sequences. A malicious archive containing members with path traversal components can write files to arbitrary locations on the execution node's filesystem outside the intended project directory. An attacker who controls the archive content, either through a compromised upstream source, a malicious archive URL, or a man-in-the-middle attack on a plain HTTP connection, can achieve arbitrary file writes as the user performing the extraction, potentially leading to remote code execution through mechanisms such as cron files, SSH authorized keys, or playbook content injection.

  • Aug 24, 2026adm-zip 0.5.9 through 0.6.0 follows symbolic links at the extraction destination.CVE-2026-76845 · Other software · cthackers · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.8

adm-zip 0.5.9 through 0.6.0 follows symbolic links at the extraction destination. Utils.sanitize in util/utils.js enforces containment by comparing only the string form of an archive entry name against the resolved extraction root, and Utils.writeFileTo opens the computed destination with fs.openSync(path, "w", 0o666), which resolves symbolic links and carries neither O_NOFOLLOW nor a pre-write fs.lstatSync check. When a path component at the destination already exists as a symbolic link pointing outside the extraction root, extractAllTo, extractAllToAsync and extractEntryTo write the entry contents through that link and then chmod its target, placing attacker-controlled content in a file outside the root without any traversal sequence appearing in the archive. Reaching the write requires overwrite to be enabled, because the preceding fs.existsSync check also resolves the link and otherwise declines. An attacker able to create a symbolic link inside a shared, reused or predictable extraction directory, such as a temporary directory or a continuous integration workspace, can overwrite any file the extracting process is permitted to write.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/openvswitch: check Ethernet header length in key_extract() When a packet arrives on an ARPHRD_NONE device (e.g. TUN), ovs_flow_key_extract() trusts the user-provided skb->protocol field: if it is ETH_P_TEB, the packet is classified as MAC_PROTO_ETHERNET and key_extract() is called without ensuring the skb has ETH_HLEN (14) bytes of linear data. key_extract() unconditionally pulls 2 * ETH_ALEN bytes for MAC addresses and parse_ethertype() pulls 2 more, either of which triggers a kernel BUG in __skb_pull() when the linear area is too small. kernel BUG at include/linux/skbuff.h:2848! • Aug 20, 2026Link Preview JS extracts web links information.CVE-2026-61704 · Other software · OP-Engineering · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

Link Preview JS extracts web links information. Prior to 4.0.4, the resolveDNSHost mitigation in index.ts validates one resolved IP address but fetches the original hostname, allowing an attacker-controlled DNS server to return a public address during validation and a loopback or internal address during the final connection. This DNS rebinding condition bypasses the SSRF protection and can cause the server-side preview fetch to reach internal HTTP resources. Redirect handling is affected by the same validation-to-fetch mismatch. This issue is fixed in version 4.0.4.

  • Aug 19, 2026The tarfile module's tar and data extraction filters created directories outside the destination for members whose name leaves the destination and returns to CVE-2026-19672 · Other software · Python Software Foundation · reported by cna@python.orgMedium 6.3

The tarfile module's tar and data extraction filters created directories outside the destination for members whose name leaves the destination and returns to it, such as ../evil/../dest/sub/file. The containment check used the resolved path, but intermediate directories were created from the name as given. Only empty directories are created outside the destination. Member contents are still extracted inside it. To return to the destination the member's name must contain the destination directory's own final component, so extraction into a secure randomised directory is not affected. This affects POSIX platforms only. On Windows, .. components are collapsed before the path reaches the filesystem, so the directories outside the destination are never created.
