  • Sep 16, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: multitouch: fix slab out-of-bounds access in mt_report_fixup() A malicious HID deviceCVE-2025-39806 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: multitouch: fix slab out-of-bounds access in mt_report_fixup() A malicious HID device can trigger a slab out-of-bounds during mt_report_fixup() by passing in report descriptor smaller than 607 bytes. mt_report_fixup() attempts to patch byte offset 607 of the descriptor with 0x25 by first checking if byte offset 607 is 0x15 however it lacks bounds checks to verify if the descriptor is big enough before conducting this check. Fix this bug by ensuring the descriptor size is at least 608 bytes before accessing it. • Aug 11, 2025slab is a pre-allocated storage for a uniform data type.CVE-2025-55159 · Other software · tokio-rs · reported by GitHubMedium 5.1

slab is a pre-allocated storage for a uniform data type. In version 0.4.10, the get_disjoint_mut method incorrectly checked if indices were within the slab's capacity instead of its length, allowing access to uninitialized memory. This could lead to undefined behavior or potential crashes. This has been fixed in slab 0.4.11. A workaround for this issue involves to avoid using get_disjoint_mut with indices that might be beyond the slab's actual length.

  • Jul 25, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: appletb-kbd: fix slab use-after-free bug in appletb_kbd_probe In probe appletb_kbd_prCVE-2025-38378 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: appletb-kbd: fix slab use-after-free bug in appletb_kbd_probe In probe appletb_kbd_probe() a "struct appletb_kbd *kbd" is allocated via devm_kzalloc() to store touch bar keyboard related data. Later on if backlight_device_get_by_name() finds a backlight device with name "appletb_backlight" a timer (kbd->inactivity_timer) is setup with appletb_inactivity_timer() and the timer is armed to run after appletb_tb_dim_timeout (60) seconds. A use-after-free is triggered when failure occurs after the timer is armed. This ultimately means probe failure occurs and as a result the "struct appletb_kbd *kbd" which is device managed memory is freed. After 60 seconds the timer will have expired and __run_timers will attempt to access the timer (kbd->inactivity_timer) however the kdb structure has been freed causing a use-after free. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: slab: ensure slab->obj_exts is clear in a newly allocated slab page ktest recently reported crashes while running several buffered io tests with __alloc_tagging_slab_alloc_hook() at the top of the crash call stack. The signature indicates an invalid address dereference with low bits of slab->obj_exts being set. • Apr 18, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jfs: fix slab-out-of-bounds read in ea_get() During the "size_check" label in ea_get(), thCVE-2025-39735 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jfs: fix slab-out-of-bounds read in ea_get() During the "size_check" label in ea_get(), the code checks if the extended attribute list (xattr) size matches ea_size. If not, it logs "ea_get: invalid extended attribute" and calls print_hex_dump(). Here, EALIST_SIZE(ea_buf->xattr) returns 4110417968, which exceeds INT_MAX (2,147,483,647). Then ea_size is clamped: int size = clamp_t(int, ea_size, 0, EALIST_SIZE(ea_buf->xattr)); Although clamp_t aims to bound ea_size between 0 and 4110417968, the upper limit is treated as an int, causing an overflow above 2^31 - 1. This leads "size" to wrap around and become negative (-184549328). The "size" is then passed to print_hex_dump() (called "len" in print_hex_dump()), it is passed as type size_t (an unsigned type), this is then stored inside a variable called "int remaining", which is then assigned to "int linelen" which is then passed to hex_dump_to_buffer(). In print_hex_dump() the for loop, iterates through 0 to len-1, where len is 18446744073525002176, calling hex_dump_to_buffer() on each iteration: for (i = 0; i < len; i += rowsize) { linelen = min(remaining, r

  • Feb 26, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slub: add missing TID updates on slab deactivation The fastpath in slab_alloc_node() asCVE-2022-49700 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slub: add missing TID updates on slab deactivation The fastpath in slab_alloc_node() assumes that c->slab is stable as long as the TID stays the same. However, two places in __slab_alloc() currently don't update the TID when deactivating the CPU slab. If multiple operations race the right way, this could lead to an object getting lost; or, in an even more unlikely situation, it could even lead to an object being freed onto the wrong slab's freelist, messing up the `inuse` counter and eventually causing a page to be freed to the page allocator while it still contains slab objects. (I haven't actually tested these cases though, this is just based on looking at the code. Writing testcases for this stuff seems like it'd be a pain...) The race leading to state inconsistency is (all operations on the same CPU and kmem_cache): - task A: begin do_slab_free(): - read TID - read pcpu freelist (==NULL) - check `slab == c->slab` (true) - [PREEMPT A->B] - task B: begin slab_alloc_node(): - fastpath fails (`c->freelist` is NULL) - enter __slab_alloc() - slub_get_cpu_ptr() (disables preemption)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: fix slab-use-after-free due to dangling pointer dqi_priv When mounting ocfs2 and then remounting it as read-only, a slab-use-after-free occurs after the user uses a syscall to quota_getnextquota. Specifically, sb_dqinfo(sb, type)->dqi_priv is the dangling pointer. During the remounting process, the pointer dqi_priv is freed but is never set as null leaving it to be accessed. Additionally, the read-only option for remounting sets the DQUOT_SUSPENDED flag instead of setting the DQUOT_USAGE_ENABLED flags. Moreover, later in the process of getting the next quota, the function ocfs2_get_next_id is called and only checks the quota usage flags and not the quota suspended flags. To fix this, I set dqi_priv to null when it is freed after remounting with read-only and put a check for DQUOT_SUSPENDED in ocfs2_get_next_id. [akpm@linux-foundation.org: coding-style cleanups]

This cleanup includes scheduling deferred work via sg_remove_sfp_usercontext(), which ultimately frees sfp. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slub: Avoid list corruption when removing a slab from the full list Boot with slub_debug=UFPZ. If allocated object failed in alloc_consistency_checks, all objects of the slab will be marked as used, and then the slab will be removed from the partial list. When an object belonging to the slab got freed later, the remove_full() function is called. Because the slab is neither on the partial list nor on the full list, it eventually lead to a list corruption (actually a list poison being detected). So we need to mark and isolate the slab page with metadata corruption, do not put it back in circulation. Because the debug caches avoid all the fastpaths, reusing the frozen bit to mark slab page with metadata corruption seems to be fine. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ubi: fastmap: Fix duplicate slab cache names while attaching Since commit 4c39529663b9 ("slab: Warn on duplicate cache names when DEBUG_VM=y"), the duplicate slab cache names can be detected and a kernel WARNING is thrown out. In UBI fast attaching process, alloc_ai() could be invoked twice with the same slab cache name 'ubi_aeb_slab_cache', which will trigger following warning messages: kmem_cache of name 'ubi_aeb_slab_cache' already exists WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 7519 at mm/slab_common.c:107 __kmem_cache_create_args+0x100/0x5f0 Modules linked in: ubi(+) nandsim [last unloaded: nandsim] CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 7519 Comm: modprobe Tainted: G 6.12.0-rc2 RIP: 0010:__kmem_cache_create_args+0x100/0x5f0 Call Trace: __kmem_cache_create_args+0x100/0x5f0 alloc_ai+0x295/0x3f0 [ubi] ubi_attach+0x3c3/0xcc0 [ubi] ubi_attach_mtd_dev+0x17cf/0x3fa0 [ubi] ubi_init+0x3fb/0x800 [ubi] do_init_module+0x265/0x7d0 __x64_sys_finit_module+0x7a/0xc0 The problem could be easily reproduced by loading UBI device by fastmap with CONFIG_DEBUG_VM=y. Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories.
