  • Sep 18, 2026Foxtool All-in-One: Contact chat button, Custom login, Media optimize images: Authorization bypassCVE-2026-18317 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 4.3

The Foxtool All-in-One: Contact chat button, Custom login, Media optimize images plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 2.5.3. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to modify arbitrary subkeys of the foxtool_settings option, including enabling site-wide SVG uploads by toggling the media-up3 key, which can facilitate stored cross-site scripting via malicious SVG files.

  • Sep 18, 2026Auto Upload Images: Limited Server-Side Request ForgeryCVE-2026-12106 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.4

The Auto Upload Images plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Limited Server-Side Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 3.3.2 via the downloadImage function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to make web requests to arbitrary locations originating from the web application. The plugin uses wp_remote_get() rather than wp_safe_remote_get(), and the validate() method only rejects URLs whose host matches the site's own hostname, failing to block requests to private, loopback, or link-local addresses (e.g., 127.0.0.1, 10.0.0.0/8, 169.254.169.254). Attackers can trigger this by embedding a crafted <img> tag with a src attribute pointing to internal network hosts in post content and submitting it for processing.

  • Sep 18, 2026ShortPixel Image Optimizer – Optimize Images, Convert WebP & AVIF: PHP Object InjectionCVE-2026-17086 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 8.8

The ShortPixel Image Optimizer – Optimize Images, Convert WebP & AVIF plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 6.5.5 via deserialization of untrusted input . This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software, which means this vulnerability has no impact unless another plugin or theme containing a POP chain is installed on the site. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it may allow the attacker to perform actions like delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code depending on the POP chain present.

  • Sep 17, 2026SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles.CVE-2026-54692 · Other software · HappySeaFox · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles. Prior to 1.0.0, sail_codec_load_frame_v8_xbm() in src/sail-codecs/xbm/xbm.c allocates the decoded pixel buffer using the X11 one-byte-per-literal layout, but an X10 static short file causes the flat decode loop to write two file-controlled bytes per literal. When ceil(width/8) produces an odd row stride, the X10 literal count includes a padding byte for every row, but the destination has no space for those bytes, so loading the XBM through sail_load_from_file, sail_load_from_memory, or sail_start_loading_* produces a forward heap overwrite that scales with image height. The X11 static char path is not affected. The overwrite can corrupt process state, cause reliable crashes, and potentially enable code execution in a susceptible consuming application. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.0.

  • Sep 17, 2026SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles.CVE-2026-54627 · Other software · HappySeaFox · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8

SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles. In 0.9.10 and earlier, psd_private_sail_pixel_format() in src/sail-codecs/psd/helpers.c resolves a one-channel PSD in Bitmap color mode to SAIL_PIXEL_FORMAT_BPP1_INDEXED without requiring the file depth to be one, so the pixel buffer uses one-bit rows while sail_codec_load_frame_v8_psd() in src/sail-codecs/psd/psd.c accepts depth == 8 and writes one attacker-controlled byte per pixel. Loading a crafted PSD through sail_load_from_file() or sail_load_from_memory() therefore writes beyond each heap row, causing memory corruption, a reliable crash, or potential code execution. This mode/depth mismatch is distinct from GHSA-rcqx-gc76-r9mv and GHSA-wcj8-hxxf-pq2c. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.0.

  • Sep 17, 2026SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles.CVE-2026-54626 · Other software · HappySeaFox · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8

SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles. In 0.9.10 and earlier, the TGA_INDEXED_RLE path selected by image_type == 9 allocates an image buffer using the one-byte-per-pixel SAIL_PIXEL_FORMAT_BPP8_INDEXED format returned by tga_private_sail_pixel_format() in src/sail-codecs/tga/helpers.c, while sail_codec_load_frame_v8_tga() in src/sail-codecs/tga/tga.c derives a two-to-four-byte pixel_size from an attacker-controlled header bpp value from 9 through 32. Loading a crafted color-mapped run-length-encoded TGA through sail_load_from_file() or sail_load_from_memory() therefore writes attacker-controlled bytes beyond the heap pixel buffer. The pixel-count clamp added for CVE-2026-40494 does not constrain the per-pixel write width, so this issue is an incomplete fix of that vulnerability and can cause heap corruption, a reliable crash, or potential code execution. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.0.

  • Sep 17, 2026Nuxt OG Image generates OG Images with Vue templates in Nuxt.CVE-2026-61793 · Other software · nuxt-modules · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

Nuxt OG Image generates OG Images with Vue templates in Nuxt. From 6.0.2 until 6.7.0, nuxt-og-image exposes the unauthenticated /_og/d/** route when the documented defaults security.strict = false and security.secret = "" are used, and base64url-decodes the fonts parameter through decodeOgImageParams. Attacker-controlled fonts[].path values flow through loadDefinedFonts into the font-assets/node.js binding, which performs a server-side fetch without validating the URL scheme, origin, resolved address, or redirects. This permits blind requests to loopback, private, link-local, cloud metadata, and other internal HTTP services, while differences in the outer response status and timing can reveal service reachability. Slow targets can also occupy OG image render workers for the configured fetch and render timeouts. This issue is fixed in version 6.7.0.

Affected versions of MISP serve uploaded SVG images inline without a restrictive browser sandbox. The commit explains that SVG files are XML documents rather than passive bitmap images. While scripts inside SVG do not execute when the SVG is rendered through a normal <img>, they can execute when the SVG is navigated to directly or embedded as a document. In that case, malicious <script> elements, event handlers, or javascript: URLs execute on the MISP origin with the viewer’s session. The affected use cases include:  - organisation SVG logos;  - event-report SVG pictures. Importantly, the vulnerable behavior is on the serve path, not merely the upload path: the patch notes that a malicious SVG uploaded while SVG support was enabled could remain dangerous even after uploads were later disabled. Snipe-IT versions <= 8.6.3 (fixed in 8.7.0) do not check the return value of storage write operations in ImageUploadRequest::handleImages(). Because Laravel's default disk mode does not throw on failure, a silently failed Storage::disk('public')->put(...) call still caused the application to delete the previous image via deleteExistingImage() and to reassign and persist the model's image reference to the new filename, destroying the existing image and leaving the database row pointing at a file that was never written. A mirror problem existed in deleteExistingImage(), where a failed Storage::delete() still nulled the model's image field, orphaning the file on disk. The condition is not directly attacker-controlled: it is triggered when any legitimate authenticated user submits an image upload while the storage backend transiently fails (for example an S3 network error, a local filesystem permission problem, or quota exhaustion). The result is unrecoverable loss of the prior image and a durable inconsistency between the database and disk that requires manual reconciliation. The nsenter --join-cgroup option opens the target cgroup.procs file as root and leaves that file descriptor open across later namespace and credential changes and across execve(). Because the kernel checks later cgroup migrations using the credentials from the original open, a program run in an attacker-controlled target can inherit root's ability to move host processes between cgroups. The Manual Image Crop WordPress plugin before 1.15 does not perform any capability check or nonce verification on the authenticated AJAX action that crops attachment images; its only guard passes for any logged-in user. A subscriber-level user can therefore supply an arbitrary attachment ID and overwrite that attachment's generated intermediate-size image (for example its thumbnail) and mutate its stored metadata, regardless of who owns the media. This is a cross-user integrity/defacement issue over the Media Library. The action also has no nonce, so it is additionally susceptible to CSRF.

The ShortPixel Adaptive Images – WebP, AVIF, CDN, Image Optimization plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 3.11.5. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to modify configuration options of third-party plugins including ShortPixel Image Optimizer, Autoptimize, WP Rocket, Imagify, and LiteSpeed Cache, as well as the plugin's own API key and account binding. Exploitation requires the respective third-party plugins to be installed, as the impact against those plugins' settings is only reachable when those plugins are present.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware_loader: Fix recursive lock in device_cache_fw_images() A recursive locking deadlock can occur in the firmware loader's power management notification handler. During system suspend or hibernation preparation, fw_pm_notify() calls device_cache_fw_images(). This function acquires fw_lock to set the firmware cache state to FW_LOADER_START_CACHE and then iterates over all devices using dpm_for_each_dev() while still holding the lock. For each device, dev_cache_fw_image() schedules asynchronous work to cache the firmware. If memory allocation for the async work entry fails (e.g., in out-of-memory conditions), async_schedule_node_domain() falls back to executing the work function synchronously in the current thread. The synchronous execution path (__async_dev_cache_fw_image() -> cache_firmware() -> request_firmware() -> assign_fw()) attempts to acquire fw_lock again. Since the current thread already holds fw_lock, this results in a recursive locking deadlock. Fix this by releasing fw_lock immediately after updating the cache state and before calling dpm_for_each_dev(). The lock is only needed to protect the

Multiple Use-After-Free vulnerabilities were found in the add_archive_element function in ld/ldmain.c of the GNU linker (ld), a component of binutils. The root cause is that plugin_maybe_claim() in ld/plugin.c frees the original BFD object via bfd_close/_bfd_delete_bfd when entry->the_bfd->my_archive == NULL, but the caller retains both the original abfd parameter and a shallow copy (orig_input.the_bfd) as dangling pointers. These dangling pointers are subsequently dereferenced at three distinct locations in add_archive_element: 1. Line ~1442: accessing abfd->my_archive via bfd_usrdata(abfd->my_archive) 2. Line ~1493: multiple accesses to abfd and abfd->my_archive in a conditional check and bfd_get_filename call 3. Line ~1525: dereferencing the shallow copy orig_input.the_bfd->my_archive in trace/verbose logging The vulnerability is triggered when LTO plugins are active (link_info.lto_plugin_active is true) and the input object has abfd->my_archive == NULL, which is a valid state for standalone object files. Red Hat builds binutils with --enable-plugins and --enable-lto, confirming the vulnerable code path is compiled in and reachable. An attacker who can supply a crafted object

Velociraptor's NTFS parsing library mishandles several out of bound and memory exhaustion bugs which may be triggered by maliciously crafted NTFS images. Typically Velociraptor's NTFS parser is used on live NTFS filesystems, limiting the opportunity of attackers corrupting the filesystem. However, in some applications (e.g.  dead disk forensics https://docs.velociraptor.app/docs/forensic/deaddisk/ ) Velociraptor may be used on untrusted NTFS image files.  If an attacker is able to inject maliciously corrupted NTFS Volumes they can cause a crash and a Denial of Service.

A TOCTOU (Time-of-Check-Time-of-Use) race condition vulnerability was found in the fixfiles script in policycoreutils. When running fixfiles relabel or fixfiles restore, the script used find and chcon commands to locate and relabel unlabeled files under /tmp and other directories. A local attacker could exploit a race window between the file discovery and the label change operation by swapping directory components with symlinks, causing chcon to follow the symlink and modify SELinux labels on arbitrary system files. This could undermine SELinux mandatory access control protections on critical files such as /etc/shadow.

The GoDAM – Organize WordPress Media Library & File Manager with Unlimited Folders for Images, Videos & more plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads in versions up to, and including, 1.12.2. This is due to insufficient file type validation in the save_video_file() function hooked into WPForms' public wpforms_process_before_filter, which trusts the attacker-supplied multipart Content-Type header, preserves the original filename via wp_unique_filename(), and moves the raw upload with $wp_filesystem->move() into a web-served directory — bypassing wp_handle_upload()'s MIME/extension allowlist. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: ucsi: ccg: reject firmware images without a ':' record header do_flash() locates the first .cyacd record with p = strnchr(fw->data, fw->size, ':'); while (p < eof) { s = strnchr(p + 1, eof - p - 1, ':'); ... } If the firmware image contains no ':' byte, strnchr() returns NULL. NULL compares less than the valid kernel pointer eof, so the loop body runs and strnchr() is called with p + 1 == (void *)1 and a length of roughly (unsigned long)eof, causing a wonderful crash. The not_signed_fw fallthrough earlier in do_flash() and the chip-state branches in ccg_fw_update_needed() allow an unsigned blob to reach this loop, so a root user who can place a crafted file under /lib/firmware and write the do_flash sysfs attribute can trigger the oops. Bail out with -EINVAL when the initial strnchr() returns NULL.
