  • Sep 11, 2026compression is a Node.js and Express compression middleware.CVE-2026-87776 · Other software · compression · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbHigh 7.5

compression is a Node.js and Express compression middleware. In versions before 1.8.2, when a client aborts the connection while a compressed response is still being sent, the zlib stream created to compress that response is never destroyed, so each aborted compressed response leaks its native zlib memory. A remote unauthenticated attacker can repeatedly open requests and disconnect early, exhausting the available memory and crashing the server. All applications using compression are affected. The issue is fixed in compression 1.8.2, and users should upgrade to 1.8.2 or later.

  • Sep 11, 2026hbs is an Express view engine wrapper for Handlebars.CVE-2026-87123 · Other software · hbs · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbMedium 5.9

hbs is an Express view engine wrapper for Handlebars. Version 4.3.0 can crash the Node.js process during output escaping when an async helper, registered with registerAsyncHelper, resolves to an object whose toHTML property is truthy but not callable. Handlebars escapeExpression calls the toHTML method on any value that has a truthy toHTML, so such a value throws a TypeError, and because the async substitution runs on a later tick outside the render function's try/catch, the throw is an uncaught exception that terminates the process without sending a response. Only version 4.3.0 is affected, since the throwing escape was introduced by the fix for CVE-2026-16231 and earlier versions do not escape async helper values. It can be triggered remotely when an async helper resolves to an externally influenced object such as parsed JSON. The issue is fixed in hbs 4.3.1, and users should upgrade to hbs 4.3.1 or later.

  • Sep 1, 2026Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in ash-project ash allows an attacker to force an expensive regular expression to run on input that a length conCVE-2026-82735 · Other software · ash-project · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 5.9

Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in ash-project ash allows an attacker to force an expensive regular expression to run on input that a length constraint should have already rejected. Ash.Type.String.apply_constraints/2 (lib/ash/type/string.ex) evaluated the :match regex regardless of the min_length and max_length constraints on the same attribute. Because the length check did not gate the regex, an over-length value that the length constraint rejects still had the pattern applied to it, so the length limit that would otherwise bound the work never constrained the regex input. Against a backtracking pattern this yields catastrophic regex evaluation on attacker-sized input, and even a linear pattern runs on arbitrarily large input, consuming CPU per request. The fix skips the :match regex whenever a length constraint is violated, making the two checks order-independent. This issue affects ash: from 0.10.0 before 3.32.2.

Permissive Regular Expression vulnerability in ash-project ash_phoenix lets a remote client select the tenant an Ash application uses, or degrade the request, by sending a crafted Host header. AshPhoenix.Helpers.get_subdomain/2 stripped the root domain with String.replace(host, ~r/.?#{root_host}/, ""). The root host was interpolated raw, so each . became a wildcard and any metacharacter a pattern, and the replace was global and unanchored, so a match was removed from anywhere in the string. With root_host example.com, Host: foo.exampleXcom.attacker.net returned the tenant foo.attacker.net. A metacharacter-bearing or nil root host degraded the pattern or raised on every request. The comparison was also case-sensitive, so TENANT.EXAMPLE.COM and EXAMPLE.COM slipped past the root-host allowlist. conn.host comes from the client Host header. The fix matches the root host case-insensitively and only as an exact trailing suffix. This issue affects ash_phoenix: from 2.1.26 before 2.3.25.

  • Aug 30, 2026Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash_sql allows a caller to bypass a scoping or authorization filter expressed as exists/2 over a relationshCVE-2026-77454 · Other software · ash-project · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 5.9

Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in ash-project ash_sql allows a caller to bypass a scoping or authorization filter expressed as exists/2 over a relationship that declares both a limit (or from_many?) and a parent(...)-referencing filter or sort. AshSql.Join.related_query/3 skips the caller-supplied exists predicate for such relationships and delegates it to limit_from_many/5. When the relationship's own filter or sort references parent(...), limit_from_many/5 takes a branch that drops both the limit and the predicate, emitting a bare correlated EXISTS with no predicate. The check then matches any record that has any related row. Most severely, when the expression backs a policy (for example authorize_if expr(exists(memberships, user_id == ^actor(:id)))), the actor-scoping condition disappears and the policy passes for any actor with any related row. This issue affects ash_sql: from 0.4.1 before 0.7.1.

A NoSQL/expression injection weakness exists in the LINQ-to-aggregation query translation layer of the MongoDB C# Driver, in both aggregation expression and query filter translation. When application-supplied values are embedded in certain query constructs, special elements contained within those values are not properly escaped before the resulting query is transmitted to the database, so portions of the value may be interpreted by the database as query logic rather than as data. • Aug 25, 2026hbs is an Express view engine that wraps Handlebars.CVE-2026-16231 · Other software · hbs · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbHigh 8.1

hbs is an Express view engine that wraps Handlebars. Its registerAsyncHelper API bypasses Handlebars' automatic HTML escaping: an async helper returns an opaque placeholder during the first render pass, so the double-brace expression escapes only the placeholder, and after rendering hbs substitutes the placeholder with the raw callback return value without escaping it, across the cached, uncached, and layout render paths. An application that passes attacker-influenced data, for example user-supplied content from a database, into an async helper callback can therefore have arbitrary HTML and JavaScript injected into the server-rendered page, resulting in stored or reflected cross-site scripting. Versions 2.1.0 through 4.2.1 are affected, and the issue is fixed in 4.3.0, which HTML-escapes async helper output. Applications that intentionally emit raw HTML from an async helper can opt in explicitly with hbs.SafeString. Users should upgrade to 4.3.0.

  • Aug 20, 2026The URLS regular expression in nltk/tokenize/casual.py, compiled into TweetTokenizer.WORD_RE and applied by TweetTokenizer.tokenize, contains a naked-domain braCVE-2026-72818 · Other software · nltk · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

The URLS regular expression in nltk/tokenize/casual.py, compiled into TweetTokenizer.WORD_RE and applied by TweetTokenizer.tokenize, contains a naked-domain branch whose domain-label prefix [a-z0-9]+(?:[.\-][a-z0-9]+)* is unbounded. Input consisting of many alternating label separators can be partitioned in exponentially many ways, and because the branch also requires a trailing top-level domain that such input never supplies, the engine explores those partitions before failing at each offset. A few kilobytes of input therefore consumes seconds to minutes of single-threaded CPU, and the HANG_RE substitution performed before matching does not collapse the pattern. TweetTokenizer is intended for tokenizing untrusted social-media text, so any service that applies it, or the module-level casual_tokenize, to submitted text can be stalled per request without authentication. Version 3.10.1 bounds the label repetition.

  • Aug 20, 2026The Lean 4 kernel does not verify that the structure named in a projection expression matches the type of the value being projected, and environment::add_inductCVE-2026-72844 · Other software · leanprover · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.8

The Lean 4 kernel does not verify that the structure named in a projection expression matches the type of the value being projected, and environment::add_inductive in src/kernel/inductive.cpp did not type check the nested inductive applications that are replaced by auxiliary types, so their parametric arguments escaped checking. A metaprogram running in the Lean process can register an ill-typed nested inductive whose constructor applies a .proj C 0 projection to a value of the unrelated type W, and the kernel admits the declaration through the ordinary checked addDecl path at maximum kernel checking, without sorry, unsafeCast, debug.skipKernelTC, addDeclWithoutChecking, FFI, or a modified .olean file. The result is a type confusion yielding a proof of False that carries no axioms, from which any proposition can be derived. The published proof of concept additionally pads two expressions until their hashes and approximate depths collide, which defeats kernel caching; that is the technique used to reach the flaw, not its cause. Exploitation requires running a metaprogram in-process, for example by building a project or importing a malicious Lake dependency.

n8n before 1.123.69, 2.x before 2.33.4, and 2.34.x before 2.34.1 contain an expression injection vulnerability in resource-locator field link preview rendering. The editor spliced the field's stored value directly into the node type's URL template without checking for expression syntax. An authenticated member can store a malicious value so that when another user opens the affected node in the editor, the injected expression is evaluated as JavaScript in the victim's authenticated session (cross-user script execution).

BuildKit is a toolkit for converting source code to build artifacts in an efficient, expressive and repeatable manner. Prior to 0.31.2, a custom client can produce such an upload request to the BuildKit daemon that files can escape from the BuildKit-controlled state directory. The client needs to have valid permissions to access BuildKit control API to issue builds, eg., bypass authentication, etc. This issue is fixed in version 0.31.2.

BuildKit is a toolkit for converting source code to build artifacts in an efficient, expressive and repeatable manner. Prior to 0.31.1, BuildKit read attacker-controlled /etc/passwd and /etc/group files without an upper bound while resolving a username to a user identifier or group identifier in executor/oci/user.go and solver/llbsolver/ops/user_linux.go. A malicious base image or build could provide oversized files that exhausted memory during user resolution and caused out-of-memory termination of the buildkitd process. BuildKit is a toolkit for converting source code to build artifacts in an efficient, expressive and repeatable manner. Prior to 0.31.1, a custom frontend could place an invalid SecurityMode value in a crafted build request, and executor/oci/spec_linux.go treated the unsupported value as a non-sandbox mode without requiring the security.insecure entitlement. • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_fib: reject fib expression on the netdev egress hook A fib expression in a CVE-2026-72254 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_fib: reject fib expression on the netdev egress hook A fib expression in a netdev egress base chain dereferences nft_in(pkt), NULL on the transmit path, causing a NULL pointer dereference at eval. nft_fib_validate() masks the hook with NF_INET_* values, but netdev hook numbers are a separate enum that aliases them (NF_NETDEV_EGRESS == NF_INET_LOCAL_IN), so an egress chain passes validation and then faults. Add nft_fib_netdev_validate() that limits each result/flag to the netdev hook where the device it reads exists: the input-device cases (OIF, OIFNAME, ADDRTYPE with F_IIF) to ingress, the output-device case (ADDRTYPE with F_OIF) to egress, ADDRTYPE with no device flag to both. Also restrict nft_fib_validate() to NFPROTO_IPV4/IPV6/INET so its NF_INET_* masks are not applied to another family's hooks.

  • Aug 13, 2026Perl versions from 5.9.4 before 5.41.9 produce incorrect regular expression match results when a stale failure flag ends the Aho-Corasick prescan early in S_finCVE-2026-19487 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eMedium 5.3

Perl versions from 5.9.4 before 5.41.9 produce incorrect regular expression match results when a stale failure flag ends the Aho-Corasick prescan early in S_find_byclass. The prescan walks the subject for positions where the full pattern could match, and the engine tries it from the leftmost one recorded. A failing transition sets the failed flag, and a later successful transition does not clear it, so the prescan reads the stale flag as a failure and stops before it can record a candidate that starts earlier. It takes a subject where one candidate is recorded and a later character then forces a fallback through a fail link that succeeds. Example: "ABCDE" =~ m/ABCF|BCDE|C/; # matches C at offset 2, not BCDE "ABCDE" =~ m/ABCF|BCDE|C(G)/; # no match, BCDE missed An alternation like this can miss input it should match, or match it on the wrong branch, so an access or filtering decision made from the result can be wrong.
