  • Aug 13, 2026Mongoose is a MongoDB object modeling tool designed to work in an asynchronous environment.CVE-2026-73562 · Other software · Automattic · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Mongoose is a MongoDB object modeling tool designed to work in an asynchronous environment. Prior to 6.13.10, 7.8.10, 8.24.1, and 9.7.2, passing a user-controlled update such as MyModel.updateOne(filter, req.body) can exploit Mongoose update casting with a __proto__.x dotted path under $set. Schema.prototype.path and Schema.prototype._getPathType can treat inherited properties of schema.paths and schema.nested as schema types, allowing the casting process to set $fullPath and $parentSchemaDocArray on Object.prototype before throwing. This prototype pollution makes those properties visible on newly created objects and can cause application integrity and availability impacts. This issue is fixed in versions 6.13.10, 7.8.10, 8.24.1, and 9.7.2.

jupyterlab is an extensible environment for interactive and reproducible computing, based on the Jupyter Notebook Architecture. Prior to 4.5.10 and 4.6.2, in packages/imageviewer/src/widget.ts, JupyterLab's ImageViewer uses URL.createObjectURL for a specially crafted SVG image and revokes the blob URL too early, allowing the image to retain an executable same-origin context when it is opened through the image viewer and then opened in a new browser tab. The resulting cross-site scripting can be used to execute arbitrary code on the JupyterLab server. This issue is fixed in versions 4.5.10 and 4.6.2.

  • Aug 12, 2026Apache Airflow's environment-variable secrets backend resolved a team-scoped Connection or Variable from the wrong team's scope.CVE-2026-68076 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 5.4

Apache Airflow's environment-variable secrets backend resolved a team-scoped Connection or Variable from the wrong team's scope. The guard meant to prevent this only ran when no team scope was supplied, and its pattern could not match a team name containing an underscore, which team names are allowed to contain. When the guard did not apply, the lookup fell through to an unconditional global read that resolved the stored `AIRFLOW_CONN__<TEAM>___<ID>` variable regardless of which team asked. In multi-team mode an authenticated user of one team could therefore have `POST /api/v2/connections/test` resolve another team's Connection and authenticate outward with that team's credentials; the endpoint uses the credentials rather than returning them. Exploitation requires `[core] multi_team` enabled, `[core] test_connection` set to `Enabled` (it ships `Disabled`), team-scoped secrets provisioned as environment variables in the API-server process, and knowledge of the encoded identifier. Redirecting the test at an attacker-controlled host is separately blocked. Users are advised to upgrade to apache-airflow 3.3.1 or later.

An authenticated attacker with control panel access can render a malicious sandboxed Twig template and, using a blind error-based technique across many requests, incrementally leak arbitrary environment variables and secrets. These can be abused to forge sessions (via CRAFT_SECURITY_KEY), escalate privileges, and steal database, SMTP, API, or blob storage credentials. Fixed in 5.10.6 and 4.18.2.

  • Aug 1, 2026GitPython before 3.1.52 is vulnerable to environment-variable exfiltration in Repo.clone_from().CVE-2026-67322 · Other software · gitpython-developers · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

GitPython before 3.1.52 is vulnerable to environment-variable exfiltration in Repo.clone_from(). The caller-supplied remote URL is passed through Git.polish_url(), which on non-Cygwin platforms calls os.path.expandvars() on the URL before invoking git clone. An attacker who controls the clone URL can embed $NAME or ${NAME} tokens that are expanded to the values of the hosting process's environment variables (e.g., AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY or GITHUB_TOKEN). The resulting URL, now containing the secret, is transmitted over the network to an attacker-controlled host during the clone attempt, disclosing the secret.

In NLnet Labs Unbound 1.22.0 up to and including 1.25.1, in DNS-over-QUIC environments, with high concurrency and under pressure, an assertion in libngtcp2 about monotonic timestamps could trigger and result in server termination and thus denial of service. When interfacing with libngtcp2, for DNS-over-QUIC support in Unbound, it is expected to use monotonic time. Unbound was using realtime instead, and in DoQ environments with high concurrency and under pressure, an assert in libngtcp2 for the quic timestamp would trigger and terminate the server. This vulnerability needs Unbound to be compiled with DoQ support ('--with-libngtcp2') and the 'quic-port' to be configured for the listening interfaces.

  • Jul 21, 2026A sandbox confinement bypass vulnerability exists in Canonical snapd within its internal execution environment compiler (snap-confine).CVE-2026-15226 · Other software · Canonical · reported by security@ubuntu.comHigh 8.4

A sandbox confinement bypass vulnerability exists in Canonical snapd within its internal execution environment compiler (snap-confine). The default seccomp security templates generated by the engine to restrict system calls do not filter or reject process operations capable of creating or manipulating file execution flags with set-user-ID attributes. Consequently, an application running within a strictly confined snap environment can successfully compile or drop binaries and apply setuid properties to them. If a compromised or malicious process inside the snap sandbox executes these generated setuid binaries, it can potentially circumvent architectural sandboxing assumptions, drop intended restriction policies, or execute privileged actions inside the container namespace that should otherwise be strictly blocked. The vulnerability has been resolved by hardening the seccomp template engine to block the execution and creation of setuid executables by sandboxed snap processes.

The mv, cp, and rm file utilities exposed within the ExtremeXOS (EXOS) shell environment fail to safely canonicalize paths and follow symbolic links outside of the intended privilege boundary. An attacker with low-privilege CLI access can create a symbolic link that references a privileged filesystem location and then invoke the affected utilities to read, modify, or replace security-critical files outside of their authorized scope. Under certain conditions, this may enable escalation to root-level access and persistent modification of the device software stack. Exploitation is possible remotely by an attacker holding a low-privilege account, or locally via the serial console. Extreme would like to thank Hadrien Barral (Université Gustave Eiffel) and Georges-Axel Jaloyan (French Ministry of the Interior) for responsible disclosure of their findings.

  • Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55438 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubMedium 5.8

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.17, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, Coder's subdomain-based workspace app proxy allowed the same-owner CORS check to be bypassed. When a workspace-name subdomain segment parsed as a UUID, the workspace was resolved by ID without confirming the URL's username matched the real owner, while the CORS middleware trusted the unverified username in the hostname. Practical exploitation requires subdomain app routing (wildcard hostname) enabled and a victim who visits the attacker's crafted app URL while authenticated. The fix in versions 2.29.17, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 validates the subdomain username against the resolved workspace's actual owner and bases the same-owner CORS decision on the authoritative owner identity. No known workarounds are available.

Practical exploitation requires an on-path (man-in-the-middle) position between the AI Bridge Proxy and the Coder server. Deployments where they are co-located over loopback are effectively unaffected. The fix in versions 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 applies the secure transport (TLS 1.2 or higher using system root CAs) unconditionally. As a workaround, ensure the Coder access URL uses a trusted certificate and secure the network path between the AI Bridge Proxy and the Coder server (for example, loopback or mTLS).

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the devcontainer recreate endpoint relied on route middleware that checked only `ActionRead` on the workspace and, unlike the sibling delete endpoint, performed no `ActionUpdate` check before triggering the destructive rebuild. Exploitation requires an existing low-privilege role with access to the target workspace. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 adds an explicit `ActionUpdate` authorization check before the agent is dialed like the delete endpoint. No known workarounds are available.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the `CreateSubAgent` RPC did not validate a requested app sharing level against the template's `MaxPortSharingLevel` before persisting workspace apps, letting a workspace owner exceed the administrator's configured maximum. Exploitation requires the ability to register sub-agent apps in a workspace the attacker controls. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2clamps the sub-agent app sharing level to the template's `MaxPortSharingLevel`. As a workaround, disable wildcard app hostnames (`CODER_WILDCARD_ACCESS_URL`) to block subdomain-based app routing.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `coder open app` opens external workspace-app URLs without validating the scheme or host. When an external app URL contains the `$SESSION_TOKEN` placeholder the CLI replaces it with the user's real session token before handing the URL to the OS open handler. Practical exploitation requires the victim to run `coder open app` against a workspace whose external app definition the attacker controls. Only a malicious template author can control external app URLs. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 applies a URL-scheme allowlist in the CLI and limits `$SESSION_TOKEN` substitution to trusted destinations like the web frontend. As a workaround, avoid running `coder open app` for untrusted workspaces.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the workspace app proxy resolves the target app from `httpapi.RequestHost()` which prefers the `X-Forwarded-Host` header over the real `Host` header. No middleware strips `X-Forwarded-Host` before routing and the header is not browser-forbidden so client-side JavaScript can set it on `fetch()` calls. Practical exploitation requires subdomain app routing (wildcard hostname) enabled, a victim who visits the attacker's shared app and a deployment whose upstream proxy does not strip `X-Forwarded-Host`. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 trusts `X-Forwarded-Host` only from configured trusted proxies and otherwise resolves the routing host from the verified request host. As a workaround, place an upstream reverse proxy that strips or overwrites `X-Forwarded-Host` on untrusted requests.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `UpsertWorkspaceApp` overwrites an existing app's `agent_id` on a primary-key conflict and `insertAgentApp` accepts the app ID from the provisioner's `CompleteJob` payload without verifying it belongs to the workspace being built. `CompleteJob` runs under `dbauthz.AsProvisionerd` so the authorization layer does not block the cross-workspace upsert. Exploitation requires elevated access as a template author or external provisioner operator. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 verifies that any existing `workspace_apps` row matching the supplied ID belongs to the workspace being built and rejects cross-workspace agent reassignment. No known workarounds are available.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `coder config-ssh` wrote server-supplied SSH settings (`HostnameSuffix`, `SSHConfigOptions`) into the user's `~/.ssh/config` without sanitizing embedded newlines or restricting directives so a malicious or compromised Coder server could inject arbitrary SSH configuration. Practical exploitation requires control of the server-supplied values through a malicious or compromised deployment, a man-in-the-middle position or admin access to the `HostnameSuffix` and `SSHConfigOptions` settings. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 validates `HostnameSuffix` and `SSHConfigOptions` against a strict character set that rejects newlines and other control characters. As a workaround, inspect `coder config-ssh --dry-run` output before applying changes.

The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 validates `FileSize` against an upper bound (`MaxFileSize = 100 MiB`) before allocation. Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Starting in version 2.17.0 and prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `POST /api/v2/files` converts zip uploads to tar in memory via `CreateTarFromZip`, which enforced a per-entry size limit but no aggregate limit on total decompressed output, writing to an unbounded in-memory buffer. Exploitation requires authenticated file-upload access and the impact is limited to availability (denial of service). The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 adds a metadata preflight check that sums projected entry sizes and a streaming writer that enforces the aggregate limit during decompression. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the `PUT /api/v2/users/{user}/password` endpoint authorized only `ActionUpdatePersonal` and did not prevent a `user-admin` from resetting an `owner` account's password. It also did not require the current password when an admin reset another user's password. Exploitation requires the privileged `user-admin` role so practical risk is limited to deployments that grant `user-admin` to less trusted operators. Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, Coder's OIDC callback checked `email_verified` with a direct Go `bool` type assertion. When an IdP returned the claim as a non-boolean (for example the string `"false"`) or omitted it, the assertion failed open and the email was treated as verified. Combined with an unconditional email-based account fallback, this enabled account takeover. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 coerces `email_verified` across bool, string and numeric types (fail-closed) and blocks the email fallback when the matched user already has a different linked IdP subject. As a workaround, ensure the IdP returns `email_verified` as a native JSON boolean. The email-fallback linking issue has no configuration workaround; upgrading is required.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, two flaws in Coder's OIDC login chained into account takeover. Email-based user matching fell back to linking by email without checking for an existing link to a different IdP subject and the `email_verified` claim was only enforced when present as a boolean `false` so an absent or non-boolean claim was treated as verified. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 restricts the email fallback to first-time and legacy linking and defaults `email_verified` to false when the claim is absent or of an unexpected type. As a workaround, configure the OIDC provider to disallow self-registration or to require email verification before issuing tokens.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. In versions prior tp 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3, `azureidentity.Validate()` verifies that the PKCS#7 signer certificate chains to a trusted Azure CA but never verifies the PKCS#7 signature itself. An attacker can embed a legitimate Azure certificate alongside arbitrary content e.g. `{"vmId":"<target>"}` and the forged `vmId` will be accepted returning the victim workspace agent's session token. No authentication is required. The attacker only needs to know a target VM's `vmId` which is a `UUIDv4`. That's a practical limitation which would typically require prior access to be exploited. Versions 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3 patch the issue. As a workaround, reconfigure any Azure templates to use token authentication rather than `azure-instance-identity`.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Versions prior tp 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3 are vulnerable to unauthenticated semi-blind Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via the Azure instance identity endpoint (`POST /api/v2/workspaceagents/azure-instance-identity`). An external attacker can force the Coder server to issue HTTP GET requests to arbitrary internal or external hosts by submitting a crafted PKCS#7 signature. The server does not return the target's response body, but error messages in the API response reveal whether the target is reachable and what type of failure occurred. Versions 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3 patch the issue. As a workaround, if the Azure identity-auth mechanism is not being used then restrict access to the corresponding endpoint (`/api/v2/workspaceagents/azure-instance-identity`) using ingress firewall and/or proxy ACLs.

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7 and 2.30.2, the `dotfiles` registry module passed unsanitized user input to shell commands, allowing arbitrary code execution inside a provisioned workspace. Any user who supplied a crafted `dotfiles_uri` value (for example, one containing shell command substitution such as `$(...)`) could achieve command execution in their own workspace. The Create Workspace page's `mode=auto` deep links amplified this into a one-click attack: an attacker could craft a URL that prefilled `param.dotfiles_uri` and silently provisioned a workspace with the attacker-controlled value, with no explicit user confirmation. In versions 2.29.7 and 2.30.2, input validation was added to the dotfiles module to reject URIs and usernames containing special characters, and the unsafe `eval`/`sh -c` usage was removed. This eliminated the command injection at its source.
