  • Sep 5, 2026Hummingbird – Speed Optimization, Caching, Minify, Compress & CDN: Remote Code ExecutionCVE-2026-83627 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8

The Hummingbird – Speed Optimization, Caching, Minify, Compress & CDN plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution in all versions up to, and including, 3.21.0 via the log_msg() function in core/modules/class-page-cache.php. The page-cache debug log is written to wp-content/wphb-logs/page-caching-log.php, a directly web-accessible PHP file that is supposed to be protected by a leading '<?php die(); ?>' header. That header is guarded by class_exists( 'Filesystem' ), which can never match because class_exists() resolves string arguments in the global namespace while the class is Hummingbird\Core\Filesystem; when the log is created during a front-end request the header is therefore omitted entirely. get_cookies() then writes the raw name of any cookie matching the wphb_cache_ prefix into that file without sanitization. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to write arbitrary PHP into the log file with a single anonymous request and execute it by requesting the file directly, resulting in full remote code execution. Exploitation requires the site administrator to have enabled Page Caching with the Debug Log option (non-default), and the log file to be crea

Improper handling of highly compressed data in Amazon ion-java before 1.12.1 might allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted compressed Ion document that expands to an arbitrarily large size upon decompression due to insufficient coverage of the GZIP auto-decompression opt-out introduced for CVE-2026-75936. • Sep 4, 2026undici's decompress interceptor decompresses response bodies according to the untrusted Content-Encoding header.CVE-2026-84890 · Other software · undici · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbMedium 5.9

undici's decompress interceptor decompresses response bodies according to the untrusted Content-Encoding header. While the number of content-encoding layers is capped, the total decompressed output size is unbounded and there is no configuration option to limit it. A malicious or faulty upstream can therefore return a small compressed payload, a compression bomb, that expands to hundreds of megabytes or more in client memory, an asymmetric resource consumption that can exhaust memory and crash the process. This affects undici versions from 7.15.0 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

  • Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: cap LZMA stream pool size fs/erofs/decompressor_lzma.c sizes the module-global MicrCVE-2026-80892 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: cap LZMA stream pool size fs/erofs/decompressor_lzma.c sizes the module-global MicroLZMA stream pool from num_possible_cpus() when the lzma_streams module parameter is unset, then z_erofs_load_lzma_config() preallocates one image-supplied dictionary per stream, accepting dictionaries up to 8 MiB. On high-CPU systems, a small EROFS image can pin hundreds of MiB of vmalloc-backed decoder state until the erofs module is unloaded. Impact: An EROFS image mounted by the system can pin up to 8 MiB of vmalloc memory per LZMA stream, either as intended or unexpectedly. Bound the default stream count by a new CONFIG_EROFS_FS_ZIP_LZMA_DEFAULT_MAX_STREAMS option, default 16, so the worst-case default preallocation is 128 MiB if the number of CPUs is no less than 16 while preserving the existing per-image dictionary limit. An explicit lzma_streams module parameter is still honoured as-is, so administrators who deliberately size the pool are not affected.

parsedmarc before 11.0.1 decompresses gzip and ZIP attachments in a single unbounded read with no limit on decompressed output size. • Sep 2, 2026A flaw was found in rpmuncompress.CVE-2026-84838 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.8

A flaw was found in rpmuncompress. This command injection vulnerability allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary commands. This occurs when rpmuncompress processes a specially crafted archive filename containing shell metacharacters, which are not properly escaped before being passed to shell command strings. Successful exploitation requires user interaction, where a user or automated workflow invokes rpmuncompress on the malicious file, leading to high impact on the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data accessible to the invoking user.

  • Aug 28, 2026CodeChecker's massStoreRun processing path performs one-shot decompression of attacker-controlled, Base64-encoded zlib data without enforcing a maximum decompreCVE-2026-58107 · Other software · Ericsson · reported by 85b1779b-6ecd-4f52-bcc5-73eac4659dcfMedium 5.5

CodeChecker's massStoreRun processing path performs one-shot decompression of attacker-controlled, Base64-encoded zlib data without enforcing a maximum decompressed size. An authenticated user with permission to store analysis runs can submit a highly compressed payload that expands to a significantly larger byte sequence. When IMAP compression is enabled, the same compression state is reused across responses in a session, so response sizes depend on both attacker-supplied mail and other mail in the same mailbox. An attacker that can send mail to a user and can also observe the sizes of that user's IMAP traffic can confirm whether the body of a small message matches a guessed text. Malcolm's upload-processing pipeline (scripts/safe-extract.py) enforces entry-count, nesting-depth, and total-uncompressed-byte limits when extracting container archives (zip/tar/rar/7z via libarchive), but those limits are not applied when the uploaded file is a single-stream compressed format (.gz, .bz2, .xz, .lzma, .lz) that isn't a .tar.*-style archive. • Aug 17, 2026Zephyr's 6LoWPAN IP Header Compression (IPHC) uncompression code contains an out-of-bounds read in get_ihpc_inlined_size() (subsys/net/ip/6lo.c).CVE-2026-12630 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 4.3

Zephyr's 6LoWPAN IP Header Compression (IPHC) uncompression code contains an out-of-bounds read in get_ihpc_inlined_size() (subsys/net/ip/6lo.c). The destination inline size is looked up in da_inline_size_table, which has 13 entries, using an index built from the M, DAC and DAM bits of the received IPHC dispatch word (iphc & NET_6LO_IPHC_DA_MASK, a 4-bit value of 0-15). The reserved combinations 13, 14 and 15 are not bounds-checked and read past the end of the table. The iphc word is taken directly from the received frame, and get_ihpc_inlined_size() is reached on every inbound 6LoWPAN frame via net_6lo_uncompress() from the 802.15.4 receive path (subsys/net/l2/ieee802154/ieee802154_6lo.c and ieee802154_6lo_fragment.c). An unauthenticated attacker on the radio/adjacent link can therefore craft a frame whose destination addressing-mode nibble selects an out-of-range index, with no privileges or user interaction. The out-of-bounds value becomes the computed inline_size, which then drives header reconstruction before the buffer-length check: it is used to dereference *(pkt->buffer->data + sizeof(iphc) + inline_size) and to compute a size_t diff that can underflow, leading to a furth

The WP Compress – Instant Performance & Speed Optimization plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 7.10.09. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the (top-level template code) function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary WordPress options, including critical ones such as siteurl, home, active_plugins, template, and stylesheet, causing site outage or a full plugin and theme reset via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.

Fujitsu Research's OneCompression library before 1.2.1 contains an unsafe deserialization vulnerability that allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by supplying a crafted model.pt checkpoint file, as QuantizedModelLoader.load_quantized_model_pt() unconditionally calls torch.load with weights_only=False, invoking Python's pickle machinery during deserialization. Attackers can embed malicious __reduce__ methods in a crafted model checkpoint to execute arbitrary Python code, including system commands, when the library loads the file from a caller-selected model directory.

CyberChef is a web app for encryption, encoding, compression, and data analysis. Prior to 11.3.0, CyberChef's pretty-recipe parser in src/core/Utils.mjs can exhaust client-side CPU when a malformed #recipe= URL fragment containing a large number of unmatched quote characters reaches Utils.parseRecipeConfig(). The function synchronously applies a complex global regular expression that may perform heavy backtracking before rejecting the input, causing the victim's browser tab to freeze during startup for seconds or longer. No code execution, data exfiltration, or privilege escalation occurs. This issue is fixed in version 11.3.0.

TimescaleDB through 2.29.1, fixed in commit 517c13e, contains an out-of-bounds read in the Dictionary compression reverse row iterator (tsl/src/compression/algorithms/dictionary.c). The forward path validates the decoded index; the reverse path uses an assertion compiled out of release builds, leaving the 64-bit Simple8b index unvalidated and the read offset attacker-controlled. Attackers with DML access to a physical compressed relation can store a crafted datum and run a reverse-order scan. With a pass-by-value column type the out-of-bounds Datum is returned to the client as a normal column value, disclosing backend memory including the shared buffer pool, which SQL access control does not cover.

  • Jul 28, 2026Lookyloo did not enforce limits on the decompressed size of uploaded capture archives and compressed HAR files.CVE-2026-66913 · Other software · lookyloo · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 6.9

Lookyloo did not enforce limits on the decompressed size of uploaded capture archives and compressed HAR files. An attacker could submit a specially crafted ZIP, gzip, or zlib-compressed capture containing data that expands to a very large size during processing. Because the application decompressed this content directly in memory without first limiting the output size, processing the malicious capture could exhaust available memory, terminate a web or worker process, or make the Lookyloo instance unavailable. The vulnerability affects both full Lookyloo capture archive imports and API submissions containing gzip-compressed HAR data. Repeated exploitation could cause a persistent denial-of-service condition until the affected processes or instance are restarted. The patch introduces: * A 1 GB cumulative uncompressed-size limit for imported capture archives. * Size-limited gzip and zlib decompression for compressed HAR files. * Explicit detection and handling of suspected zip bombs. * An HTTP 400 response when an oversized compressed HAR file is submitted through the API.
