An out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the ZRLE decoder of GlavSoft TightVNC Viewer for Windows before 2.8.88 allows a malicious or compromised VNC server to read heap memory beyond the palette allocation and crash the viewer by sending ZRLE-encoded tiles whose palette indices exceed the declared palette size. readPaletteRleTile() and readPackedPaletteTile() use the attacker-supplied index to look up colours without validating it against the palette size; out-of-bounds heap data is copied into the framebuffer (garbled display) or the read faults, terminating the viewer.

A global out-of-bounds read in the Huffman decoder of the bundled IJG JPEG libraries (dcmjpeg/libijg8, libijg12 and libijg16) of OFFIS DCMTK 3.7.0 allows an attacker to read memory beyond the extend_test[] and extend_offset[] tables, causing incorrectly decoded pixel data or a crash, via a DICOM file with a crafted JPEG stream whose Huffman table defines a difference category above 15. Huffman symbol values are not range-checked unless DCMTK is built with DCMTK_ENABLE_STRICT_HUFFMAN_TABLE_CHECK, which is disabled by default. dcmdjpeg and any application that decompresses JPEG DICOM images with DCMTK are affected. The issue is fixed in commit d6ae1bc8d5b9ae9c7300013c8c85cc2ea0fd8cf5.

A heap-based out-of-bounds read in DcmRLECodecDecoder::decodeFrame() in dcmdata/libsrc/dcrleccd.cc of OFFIS DCMTK 3.7.0 allows an attacker to read up to 63 bytes of adjacent heap memory, or cause a crash, via a crafted RLE Lossless DICOM file whose pixel data fragment is shorter than the 64-byte RLE header. The function copies 64 bytes without checking the fragment length, a check that the sibling function decode() already performs. Applications that decode RLE images frame by frame (for example, through DcmPixelData::getUncompressedFrame()) are affected. The dcmdrle command-line tool uses decode() and is not affected. The issue is fixed in commit 45469f3c30037e9c7159290e4bb74cd7b3b9ef1d.

A missing bounds check in the binary decoder in lib0, versions 0.2.1-0.2.117 and earlier and 1.0.0-rc.32 and earlier, lets any unauthenticated remote peer read adjacent process memory and receive it back. `readUint8Array` never compares the wire-supplied length against the decoder's own view, so one over-long length prefix returns whatever the host process allocated next: other tenants' document content, personal data, and live bearer session tokens**, recovered in full and at will. An attacker who can supply bytes to a lib0 decoder which means any peer that can open a socket, including before authentication reads adjacent process memory and, where the consumer echoes, stores or re-serves the decoded value, receives it back. This is patched in version 0.2.118 and 1.0.0-rc.33.

  • Sep 26, 2026Netty's HTTP/3 codec (io.netty:netty-codec-http3) from 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.17.Final retains unbounded per-stream QPACK encoder state.CVE-2026-100660 · Other software · netty · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

Netty's HTTP/3 codec (io.netty:netty-codec-http3) from 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.17.Final retains unbounded per-stream QPACK encoder state. QpackEncoder stores a queue and a dynamic-table index tracker for every encoded field section that references the QPACK dynamic table, keyed by the peer-controlled QUIC stream ID, and these entries are released only when the remote decoder sends a Section Acknowledgment or Stream Cancellation instruction — not when the HTTP/3 stream completes. There is no limit on the number of tracked streams, field sections, or retained bytes. A remote, unauthenticated HTTP/3 client can advertise a non-zero QPACK dynamic-table capacity, acknowledge the table insertion so the server reuses a dynamically indexed response header, and then omit all mandatory Section Acknowledgments while issuing sequential requests over a single QUIC connection, bypassing concurrent-stream limits and causing unbounded heap growth until the server exhausts memory (denial of service). Fixed in 4.2.18.Final.

  • Sep 26, 2026vLLM before 0.29.0 fails to enforce decoder prompt-length validation on the disaggregated serving endpoint /inference/v1/generate.CVE-2026-100651 · Other software · vllm-project · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.1

vLLM before 0.29.0 fails to enforce decoder prompt-length validation on the disaggregated serving endpoint /inference/v1/generate. When the request contains a 'features' (multimodal) payload, vllm/entrypoints/serve/disagg/serving.py builds a multimodal EngineInput directly from the caller-supplied token_ids, and GenerateRequest.token_ids (vllm/entrypoints/serve/disagg/protocol.py) is not checked against model_config.max_model_len. For multimodal processors that report skip_prompt_length_check=True (for example Nemotron Parse, Whisper, and FireRedLID), InputProcessor._validate_prompt_len() returns immediately for both encoder and decoder prompts, so an overlong prompt becomes an EngineCoreRequest and reaches the worker input-batch copy into a fixed max_model_len-wide NumPy row. A client able to reach the endpoint on an affected model configuration can therefore submit an overlong token_ids list to trigger a worker failure and denial of service. Fixed in 0.29.0.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: preserve LZMA decoders on resize failure The pool-resize path frees each stream's old decoder before allocating its replacement. If an allocation fails after some streams have already been replaced, the failed stream is put back on the list with state == NULL. z_erofs_lzma_max_dictsize is still advanced as if the whole pool had been resized. An existing LZMA mount can select the broken stream and pass NULL to xz_dec_microlzma_reset(). A retry at the same size also skip another resize attempt. Since the global maximum was advanced, thus, the invalid state is left unrepaired. Allocate each replacement before freeing the old decoder, temporarily retaining one old decoder during allocation. Stop at the first failure and advance z_erofs_lzma_max_dictsize only after all streams satisfy the request. Record each stream's dictionary capacity so retries can skip streams already enlarged before a partial failure.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: v4l2-ctrls: validate AV1 tile counts The stateless AV1 decoders use tile_info.tile_cols and tile_rows as loop bounds and as indices into the mi_*_starts[] and *_in_sbs_minus_1[] arrays, as the divisor for context_update_tile_id, and their product bounds the per-tile descriptor buffers, but std_validate_compound() does not bound these u8 fields. http4s-scala-xml provides `EntityDecoder[F, scala.xml.Elem]` instances that parse XML message bodies. Prior to versions 0.24.1 and 1.0.0-M39, these decoders used a `javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory` obtained from `SAXParserFactory.newInstance` without any security configuration. With the JDK's default settings, the parser resolves DOCTYPE declarations, external general and parameter entities, and external DTDs.An application that uses these decoders to parse untrusted XML is vulnerable to XML External Entity (XXE) attacks. An attacker can craft a request that discloses local files readable by the service process, performs server-side request forgery (SSRF) against internal network resources, and/or causes denial of service through entity expansion. Versions 0.24.1 and 1.0.0-M39 fix the issue.

Inefficient algorithmic complexity in the Erlang/OTP asn1 OBJECT IDENTIFIER decoder allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause denial of service by sending a crafted OID during the TLS handshake. The BER OID decoder asn1rtt_ber:dec_subidentifiers/3 in lib/asn1/src/asn1rtt_ber.erl and the equivalent PER helper asn1rtt_per_common:dec_subidentifiers/3 in lib/asn1/src/asn1rtt_per_common.erl accumulate a base-128 subidentifier into an unbounded integer using (Av bsl 7) + H per continuation byte. Each shift and addition on the growing accumulator is linear in the number of bits already accumulated, giving quadratic total work in the size of a single subidentifier. The JER helper asn1rtt_jer:json2oid/1 in lib/asn1/src/asn1rtt_jer.erl exhibits the same class of unbounded-integer parsing when decoding a dot-separated OID from JSON. A DER-encoded OBJECT IDENTIFIER with one very large arc (approximately 262 KB of continuation bytes) consumes roughly 13 seconds of CPU on typical hardware. The vulnerable decoder is generated into every ASN.1 module that contains an OBJECT IDENTIFIER, including OTP-PUB-KEY which is reached during X.509 certificate parsing via public_key:pkix_decode_cert

From 1.19.0 until 1.23.3, the no-icef full-item branch of unc_decoder::get_compressed_image_data_uncompressed() in libheif/codecs/uncompressed/unc_decoder.cc retains an addition-based range check that can wrap when a crafted uncompressed tile grid produces a large range_start_offset and range_size. From 1.19.0 until 1.23.3, a crafted image item containing a clap property and an ispe width or height greater than INT32_MAX + 1 can reach crop calculations through heif_image_handle_get_image_tiling(). Box_clap::left_rounded() or Box_clap::top_rounded() passes the image dimension minus one to Fraction::Fraction(), whose uint32_t constructor uses an assertion as input validation, causing assert-enabled builds to abort. Prior to 1.19.6, Op_RGB24_32_to_YCbCr::convert_colorspace() stores image-plane strides in an integer width that can overflow for extremely large RGB images created through heif_image_create() and heif_image_add_plane(). libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. Prior to 1.23.2, the public heif_region_item_add_region_inline_mask_data() function in libheif/api/libheif/heif_regions.cc accepts mask_data_len without verifying that it equals the byte count required by width and height. A later heif_region_get_mask_image() call derives the read length from the region geometry, so an undersized stored buffer causes heif_region_get_inline_mask_image() to read beyond the heap allocation and copy adjacent bytes into the returned monochrome mask image. This can disclose heap data or crash an application that constructs region metadata through the writer API, while the file-parsing path is not affected because it validates the canonical mask size. • Sep 18, 2026libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder.CVE-2026-84383 · Other software · strukturag · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8

libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. From 1.22.0 until 1.23.2, a crafted HEIF, HEIC, or AVIF item graph using nested iden and auxl references can make HeifPixelImage::transfer_channel_from_image_as() append duplicate Alpha planes with different bit depths to m_storage. HeifPixelImage::scale_nearest_neighbor() in libheif/image/pixelimage.cc allocates the destination Alpha plane using the first plane's 8-bit depth, then iterates a later 10-bit or 12-bit Alpha component and writes uint16_t samples into the same 8-bit allocation. The output geometry controls the overflow extent and the encoded sample values control the data written, allowing a remote file processed by heif_decode_image() to cause a heap out-of-bounds write. This issue is fixed in version 1.23.2.

  • Sep 18, 2026A flaw was found in Netty's HTTP/1.1 decoder.CVE-2026-93573 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 6.5

A flaw was found in Netty's HTTP/1.1 decoder. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass `Transfer-Encoding` header validation by splitting the `Transfer-Encoding` field across multiple headers, with the last field containing a non-final transfer coding like `gzip` or `deflate`. This bypass can lead to HTTP request smuggling, enabling attackers to bypass security controls, desynchronize request processing, or cause requests to be processed in an unintended context.

A flaw was found in the DERDecoder class within wildfly-elytron-asn1. A remote attacker can exploit this resource exhaustion vulnerability by sending a specially crafted DER (Distinguished Encoding Rules) payload. The decoder attempts to allocate excessive memory based on an inflated length value without proper validation, leading to Java Virtual Machine (JVM) memory exhaustion. This results in a remote Denial of Service (DoS) for services that process untrusted DER/ASN.1 input, including SASL (Simple Authentication and Security Layer) authentication mechanisms and X.500 certificate principal parsing paths.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: chips-media: wave5: Defer job_finish() only when a DEC_PIC was queued Decoder instances sharing a VPU also share one v4l2_m2m job slot, released when the running context calls v4l2_m2m_job_finish(). While draining, device_run() defers job_finish() once EOS is sent (sent_eos), expecting a later finish_decode() (from a DEC_PIC completion IRQ) to release the slot. But the m2m core checks job_ready() only when a job is queued, not when it is dispatched. A job queued while draining can run after finish_decode() has already moved the instance to STOP and sent EOS. device_run() then runs in STOP, issues no DEC_PIC, yet still skips job_finish() - so no IRQ, no finish_decode(), and the shared slot is leaked, stalling every instance. With several v4l2h264dec instances in parallel, GStreamer hangs at EOS. Track whether the run actually queued a DEC_PIC (cmd_issued) and defer job_finish() only then. Otherwise finish the job immediately

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to 2.29.19, 2.32.9, 2.33.10, and 2.34.4, agentConn.apiClient() follows redirects while its custom transport accepts the host from the redirected request URL when the port is the workspace agent HTTP API port 4. An authenticated user who controls a modified workspace agent and knows another online agent's UUID can derive the victim's tailnet address and redirect control-plane requests to that agent. HTTP 301, 302, and 303 redirects can redirect read requests, while HTTP 307 and 308 preserve replayable write and process-start requests. The redirected workspace agent file APIs can read or write files as the victim workspace user, and affected versions exposing the workspace agent process API can execute commands after a redirected file write, crossing workspace and tenant boundaries. This issue is fixed in versions 2.29.19, 2.32.9, 2.33.10, and 2.34.4.

CodeRAG is a lightweight semantic code search and distillation utility for AI coding agents. Prior to 1.3.1, the default agent-coderag sync flow in code_rag/entry/cli.py calls sync_dependencies for an indexed path, and code_rag/core/manager.py treats build.gradle or build.gradle.kts as sufficient to invoke _sync_gradle. _sync_gradle prefers a repository-controlled gradlew or gradlew.bat file and passes it directly to asyncio.create_subprocess_exec with the repository root as the working directory; validate_path in code_rag/core/utils.py constrains the directory location but does not validate the executable's content or integrity. A victim who indexes an attacker-controlled Gradle repository therefore executes attacker-supplied code with the victim's operating-system privileges, allowing disclosure, modification, persistence, or denial of service in the user environment. Description The worker's Netty message decoder is installed ahead of the SASL authentication handlers in the pipeline and acts on frames before any authentication has taken place. It allocated buffers sized from a length field carried in the frame, so a single frame from an unauthenticated peer able to reach a worker slot port could drive a large allocation. `storm.messaging.netty.authentication` defaults to false, and the decoder runs before the handler that enforces it in any case, so no credentials are required. The attacker needs only TCP reachability to a worker port. The effect of a single frame at the default 768 MB worker heap has not been measured to distinguish sustained worker loss from transient garbage-collection pressure. The severity assigned to this advisory reflects the more conservative reading; consumers who require a precise figure should test against their own worker heap configuration. Mitigation Upgrade to 3.1.0, where frames are decoded only after the handshake completes. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should ensure that worker slot ports are reachable only from within the cluster, as the security model already recommends, and should enable `stor

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: vicodec: fix out-of-bounds write in FWHT encoder vidioc_s_fmt_vid_out() sizes the encoder CAPTURE buffer from the compressed descriptor pixfmt_fwht, whose sizeimage_mult is 3: coded_w * coded_h * 3 + sizeof(struct fwht_cframe_hdr). fwht_encode_frame() encodes one plane per component, and an incompressible plane takes the FWHT_FRAME_UNENCODED path in encode_plane(), copying the plane verbatim. For a 4-component pixel format all four planes are full resolution (width_div == height_div == 1), so a frame that forces every plane through the unencoded fallback writes sizeof(struct fwht_cframe_hdr) + 4 * coded_w * coded_h bytes, overrunning the plane by coded_w * coded_h, which can result in corruption of adjacent kernel heap memory. Bump pixfmt_fwht.sizeimage_mult from 3 to 4, matching the largest components_num among the supported raw formats, so the capture buffer is always large enough for the unencoded fallback.

  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: gate nfs2 setacl by argp->mask The NFSACL v2 SETACL path shares the decoder conventiCVE-2026-89672 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: gate nfs2 setacl by argp->mask The NFSACL v2 SETACL path shares the decoder convention used by its v3 sibling: nfsaclsvc_decode_setaclargs() fills in argp->acl_access only when NFS_ACL is set in the request mask and argp->acl_default only when NFS_DFACL is set, leaving the other pointer NULL because the argument buffer is zeroed up to pc_argzero before decode. nfsacld_proc_setacl() then hands both pointers to set_posix_acl() unconditionally. set_posix_acl(idmap, dentry, type, NULL) is the VFS "remove this ACL type" operation, so an omitted arm is indistinguishable from an explicit request to delete that ACL. A SETACL carrying only NFS_ACL silently strips the directory's default ACL; mask=0 strips both. This is the same defect just fixed in nfsd3_proc_setacl(); apply the same remedy. Gate each set_posix_acl() call on its mask bit and initialize error to 0 so that a request with neither bit set leaves the on-disk ACLs untouched and returns success. The out_drop_lock path and the unconditional posix_acl_release() in nfsaclsvc_release_setacl() already tolerate the skipped arms.

  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: reject out-of-range useconds in NFSv2 SETATTR/CREATE The NFSv2 sattr decoder convertCVE-2026-89665 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.2

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: reject out-of-range useconds in NFSv2 SETATTR/CREATE The NFSv2 sattr decoder converts the wire useconds to nanoseconds in svcxdr_decode_sattr(): iap->ia_atime.tv_nsec = tmp2 * NSEC_PER_USEC; tmp2 is a u32 and NSEC_PER_USEC is 1000, so the product is computed in unsigned long. On ILP32 that is 32 bits, and an out-of-range useconds value such as 4294968 wraps to tv_nsec == 704. The corruption therefore happens during decode, before any proc function can inspect the value, and a later range check on tv_nsec would see an in-range result and accept it. Rejecting in the decoder yields an RPC GARBAGE_ARGS reply. NFSv2 defines no NFSERR_INVAL, so there is no NFS-level status to return for a malformed time argument, and the check cannot move to the proc function the way the v3/v4 nsec range checks do. Guard the raw useconds before the multiplication and reject values greater than 1000000. useconds == 1000000 is kept: it is the Sun convention for "set to the current server time", and the in-tree Linux NFSv2 client emits it in both the atime and the mtime field for a plain touch / utimes(file, NULL) (see encode_sa
