  • Oct 9, 2026Apache CXF's FIQL query parser has a vulnerability in how it searches for operators in query expressions.CVE-2026-86463 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.5

Apache CXF's FIQL query parser has a vulnerability in how it searches for operators in query expressions. The search pattern can get stuck trying many combinations when it encounters a long string without an operator, causing the parser to consume excessive CPU time. An attacker can send a crafted query to make the server use up CPU resources, potentially slowing down or stopping other requests. The fix was to limit FIQL expressions to 4 KiB by default, preventing attackers from sending extremely long inputs while still allowing normal queries. Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.4 or 4.1.9 or 3.6.13, which fix this issue.

An uncontrolled search path element vulnerability in GlavSoft TightVNC Server for Windows before 2.8.88 allows a local authenticated user to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges. DynamicLibrary::init() (and ThemeLib) load screenhooks32.dll / screenhooks64.dll with LoadLibrary() using a bare file name and no LOAD_LIBRARY_SEARCH_* flags, so the TightVNC service follows the default DLL search order and loads an attacker-planted DLL from a writable directory earlier in that order (for example, an installation directory with permissive ACLs).

  • Oct 6, 2026Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key (CWE-639) in Elasticsearch can lead to Information Disclosure via a specially crafted cross-cluster search requCVE-2026-103009 · Other software · Elastic · reported by security@elastic.coHigh 7.1

Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key (CWE-639) in Elasticsearch can lead to Information Disclosure via a specially crafted cross-cluster search request that references an unauthorized shard identifier. Elasticsearch contains an authorization bypass weakness in its handling of cross-cluster search requests made through the Remote Cluster Security (RCS) 2.0 model. An authorization check validates a request against one identifying attribute of the target shard, while a separate, independently-supplied identifying attribute in the same request determines which shard is actually accessed. A holder of a cross-cluster API key authorized for one index can craft a request whose two identifying attributes refer to different indices, causing the request to be authorized against an index they can access while actually operating against a different, unauthorized index. This can expose that index's document contents, field mappings, and other metadata, and in limited cases allows modification of retention-lease state on the unauthorized index.

  • Oct 6, 2026Uncontrolled Recursion (CWE-674) in Elasticsearch can lead to Denial of Service via a specially crafted request that causes the server to construct and process CVE-2026-103008 · Other software · Elastic · reported by security@elastic.coMedium 6.5

Uncontrolled Recursion (CWE-674) in Elasticsearch can lead to Denial of Service via a specially crafted request that causes the server to construct and process a deeply nested data structure with no bound on recursion depth. Elasticsearch contains an uncontrolled recursion weakness in how it builds and serializes geometry values produced by scripted runtime fields. Unlike geometry supplied as text, which is subject to a nesting-depth limit, geometry constructed from a script's output is not bounded. An authenticated user with read access to a single index can submit a request defining such a field with a script that produces a deeply nested structure. Processing this request recurses past the available stack space, causing the affected node to terminate. The node does not recover automatically on all deployments and may require manual intervention to restore service.

  • Oct 6, 2026Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Elasticsearch can lead to Privilege Escalation via a delegated administrative privilege whose scope is not fully enforced dCVE-2026-103007 · Other software · Elastic · reported by security@elastic.coHigh 7.2

Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Elasticsearch can lead to Privilege Escalation via a delegated administrative privilege whose scope is not fully enforced during authorization checks. Elasticsearch contains an incorrect authorization weakness in a configurable, non-default privilege that lets an administrator delegate limited role-management capability to another user, scoped to specific indices. The authorization check that enforces this scoping does not correctly account for a role-definition setting that can expand the matched index set. A user holding this delegated privilege with a broadly-scoped index pattern can exploit this inconsistency by updating their own assigned role to gain access to indices that should remain restricted, including internal security data. This can enable further escalation up to full administrative control of the cluster.

  • Oct 6, 2026Uncontrolled Recursion (CWE-674) in Elasticsearch can lead to Denial of Service via a specially crafted, deeply nested request submitted to the aggregation featCVE-2026-103006 · Other software · Elastic · reported by security@elastic.coMedium 6.5

Uncontrolled Recursion (CWE-674) in Elasticsearch can lead to Denial of Service via a specially crafted, deeply nested request submitted to the aggregation feature of the search API. Elasticsearch contains an uncontrolled recursion weakness in its search aggregation processing. An authenticated user with read access to a single index can submit a specially crafted request containing deeply nested aggregation definitions. Processing this request triggers unbounded recursive execution that exhausts the server process's available resources, causing the affected node to terminate. The node does not recover automatically and requires manual intervention to restore service.

Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CWE-770) in Elasticsearch can lead to Denial of Service via Excessive Allocation (CAPEC-130). Elasticsearch enforces a size limit on the user-supplied metadata field for each individual template resource, but does not limit the total memory used when multiple such resources are retrieved together. A user holding the *manage_index_templates* cluster privilege can register multiple resources each within the individual limit. Retrieving them together materializes all of their metadata values in memory at once, exhausting available heap and causing the affected node to fail with an out-of-memory error, resulting in a denial of service.

Inefficient Regular Expression Complexity (CWE-1333) in Elasticsearch can lead to denial of service via Regular Expression Exponential Blowup (CAPEC-492). The ES|QL CHUNK function's recursive chunking strategy accepts a list of user-supplied regular expressions used as text-splitting separators, without validating their computational complexity or bounding their execution time. An authenticated user with read access to any text-based index can submit a specially crafted regular expression that triggers catastrophic backtracking, consuming excessive CPU on Elasticsearch worker threads and degrading query throughput for other tenants on the affected node. The cluster does not crash as a result of this issue.

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mwifiex: bound the pairwise-cipher OUI walk to the IE length mwifiex_search_oui_in_iCVE-2026-98186 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mwifiex: bound the pairwise-cipher OUI walk to the IE length mwifiex_search_oui_in_ie() reads a pairwise-cipher (PTK) count from a beacon/probe-response RSN or WPA information element and then walks that many 4-byte OUIs, comparing each with memcmp(). The count comes straight from the (attacker-supplied) IE and is never checked against the element's own length, and the callers admit the element on element_id alone (has_ieee_hdr() / has_vendor_hdr(), no length check). A crafted RSN/WPA IE with a large pairwise count therefore makes the walk read up to 255 * 4 bytes past the element -- an out-of-bounds read of the kmemdup()'d beacon buffer, reachable from any AP whose beacon/probe response is processed during scan-result parsing. Pass the number of IE bytes available at the OUI list and bound the walk to the element. Keep the length signed and reject a negative value before any unsigned arithmetic, so a small or zero IE length cannot underflow to a large size_t and defeat the bound. The Ivory Search – WordPress Search Plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the 's' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 5.5.18 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires that the targeted search form has the 'Highlight Search Terms' option enabled by an administrator, and that the malicious search query returns at least one post result.

UTMStack before 11.2.16 contains a SQL injection vulnerability in UtmAssetGroupService.searchQueryBuilder() that allows authenticated attackers to inject arbitrary SQL by supplying malicious assetType and groupName values that are inserted unsanitized into a native PostgreSQL query via String.format(). Attackers can exploit the GET /api/utm-asset-groups/searchGroupsByFilter endpoint to execute arbitrary SQL with DBA privileges, enabling full database read, data modification, and potential filesystem access.

  • Oct 2, 2026MISP contains an improper access control vulnerability in its attribute search and paginated attribute view endpoints.CVE-2026-104914 · Other software · MISP · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 5.3

MISP contains an improper access control vulnerability in its attribute search and paginated attribute view endpoints. When a user queries for soft-deleted attributes (e.g., via the deleted-attributes search or the paginated attribute listing), the application returned soft-deleted attributes belonging to events owned by other organizations to any authenticated user who had visibility of the event. The event detail view correctly restricted soft-deleted attribute visibility to the owning organization and sync-permission users, but the attribute search and paginated view code paths lacked this restriction. Preconditions: - An authenticated MISP user with at least read access to an event owned by another organization. - The user issues a query for deleted attributes (search or paginated view with the deleted filter). Impact: - Confidentiality: Soft-deleted threat intelligence attributes (e.g., IOCs, indicators, context) from other organizations are disclosed to unauthorized users. This may expose sensitive intelligence that the owning organization intended to remove from general visibility. Affected versions: MISP versions prior to v2.5.48.

  • Oct 2, 2026MISP contains an authorization flaw in its correlation handling during attribute searches.CVE-2026-104912 · Other software · MISP · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8High 7.1

MISP contains an authorization flaw in its correlation handling during attribute searches. When a user performs an attribute search that triggers correlation lookups, the system authorized access to correlated attributes and events based on a stale distribution snapshot stored on the correlation row rather than the live event access control list. Because the correlation row's distribution columns are a point-in-time copy that lacks a published flag, the authorization check becomes incorrect when an event is subsequently restricted (for example, its sharing group is changed or it is unpublished). As a result, an authenticated user could retrieve attributes and event details belonging to events they no longer have permission to view. Preconditions: - An authenticated user with at least read access to some events in the instance. - The existence of correlations between events, at least one of which has been restricted after the correlation was created. Impact: - Confidentiality: exposure of attribute values and event metadata that the user is not authorized to access. Affected versions: MISP prior to v2.5.48.

YesWiki before 4.6.7 contains a blind SQL injection vulnerability in the {{newtextsearch}} action because Bazar list option ids are concatenated into SQL REGEXP/LIKE clauses in actions/newtextsearch.php without escaping. The Relevanssi – A Better Search plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Comment Content in all versions up to, and including, 4.28.3 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This is only exploitable when the administrator has configured a non-empty value for the "Allowable tags in excerpts" setting, such as the default example value of <p><a><strong>, as the prefix-matching regex must have an allowable tag whose name is a prefix of the injected tag name.

djehuty is a research data repository system developed by 4TU.ResearchData. Prior to version 26.3.2, An unauthenticated attacker can inject SPARQL into the search/listing queries through three separate parameters. Because the affected queries are read (SELECT) queries, this does not write to the store, but it allows: Cross-graph data exfiltration — e.g. UNION-ing in triples from graphs the request was never scoped to (drafts/private/internal data held in the RDF store); denial of service — expensive or malformed queries that tie up the SPARQL backend / web workers. No account or user interaction is required. This issue has been patched in version 26.3.2.

djehuty is a research data repository system developed by 4TU.ResearchData. Prior to version 26.3.2, an authenticated depositor can inject arbitrary SPARQL into a state-modifying (DELETE/INSERT) query by supplying a crafted session name, letting them write (and delete) arbitrary triples anywhere in the RDF store. Because the RDF store is shared across all accounts and datasets, this is an integrity compromise of the whole repository's metadata, not just the attacker's own records. Having a logged-in account is a precondition. djehuty allows self-registration via ORCID/SAML, so this is a low barrier in typical deployments. This issue has been patched in version 26.3.2.
