  • May 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: do not propagate page array emplacement errors as batch errors When fscrypt is enablCVE-2026-43188 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ceph: do not propagate page array emplacement errors as batch errors When fscrypt is enabled, move_dirty_folio_in_page_array() may fail because it needs to allocate bounce buffers to store the encrypted versions of each folio. Each folio beyond the first allocates its bounce buffer with GFP_NOWAIT. Failures are common (and expected) under this allocation mode; they should flush (not abort) the batch. However, ceph_process_folio_batch() uses the same `rc` variable for its own return code and for capturing the return codes of its routine calls; failing to reset `rc` back to 0 results in the error being propagated out to the main writeback loop, which cannot actually tolerate any errors here: once `ceph_wbc.pages` is allocated, it must be passed to ceph_submit_write() to be freed. If it survives until the next iteration (e.g. due to the goto being followed), ceph_allocate_page_array()'s BUG_ON() will oops the worker. Note that this failure mode is currently masked due to another bug (addressed next in this series) that prevents multiple encrypted folios from being selected for the same write. For now, just reset

  • Feb 19, 2026opa-envoy-plugun is a plugin to enforce OPA policies with Envoy.CVE-2026-26205 · Other software · open-policy-agent · reported by GitHubHigh 7.1

opa-envoy-plugun is a plugin to enforce OPA policies with Envoy. Versions prior to 1.13.2-envoy-2 have a vulnerability in how the `input.parsed_path` field is constructed. HTTP request paths are treated as full URIs when parsed; interpreting leading path segments prefixed with double slashes (`//`) as authority components, and therefore dropping them from the parsed path. This creates a path interpretation mismatch between authorization policies and backend servers, enabling attackers to bypass access controls by crafting requests where the authorization filter evaluates a different path than the one ultimately served. Version 1.13.2-envoy-2 fixes the issue.

Therefore, if such a call fails, we must abort set_memory_* and caller must take appropriate action; currently we are suppressing the error, and there is a real chance of such an error arising post commit a166563e7ec3 ("arm64: mm: support large block mapping when rodata=full"). • Oct 4, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Propagate error from htab_lock_bucket() to userspace In __htab_map_lookup_and_delete_CVE-2022-50490 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Propagate error from htab_lock_bucket() to userspace In __htab_map_lookup_and_delete_batch() if htab_lock_bucket() returns -EBUSY, it will go to next bucket. Going to next bucket may not only skip the elements in current bucket silently, but also incur out-of-bound memory access or expose kernel memory to userspace if current bucket_cnt is greater than bucket_size or zero. Fixing it by stopping batch operation and returning -EBUSY when htab_lock_bucket() fails, and the application can retry or skip the busy batch as needed.

  • Sep 16, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: do not propagate ENODATA disk errors into xattr code ENODATA (aka ENOATTR) has a veryCVE-2025-39835 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: do not propagate ENODATA disk errors into xattr code ENODATA (aka ENOATTR) has a very specific meaning in the xfs xattr code; namely, that the requested attribute name could not be found. However, a medium error from disk may also return ENODATA. At best, this medium error may escape to userspace as "attribute not found" when in fact it's an IO (disk) error. At worst, we may oops in xfs_attr_leaf_get() when we do: error = xfs_attr_leaf_hasname(args, &bp); if (error == -ENOATTR) { xfs_trans_brelse(args->trans, bp); return error; } because an ENODATA/ENOATTR error from disk leaves us with a null bp, and the xfs_trans_brelse will then null-deref it. As discussed on the list, we really need to modify the lower level IO functions to trap all disk errors and ensure that we don't let unique errors like this leak up into higher xfs functions - many like this should be remapped to EIO. However, this patch directly addresses a reported bug in the xattr code, and should be safe to backport to stable kernels. A larger-scope patch to handle more unique errors at lower levels can follow later. (Note, prior

  • Sep 15, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pnode: terminate at peers of source The propagate_mnt() function handles mount propagationCVE-2022-50280 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pnode: terminate at peers of source The propagate_mnt() function handles mount propagation when creating mounts and propagates the source mount tree @source_mnt to all applicable nodes of the destination propagation mount tree headed by @dest_mnt. Unfortunately it contains a bug where it fails to terminate at peers of @source_mnt when looking up copies of the source mount that become masters for copies of the source mount tree mounted on top of slaves in the destination propagation tree causing a NULL dereference. Once the mechanics of the bug are understood it's easy to trigger. Because of unprivileged user namespaces it is available to unprivileged users. While fixing this bug we've gotten confused multiple times due to unclear terminology or missing concepts. So let's start this with some clarifications: * The terms "master" or "peer" denote a shared mount. A shared mount belongs to a peer group. * A peer group is a set of shared mounts that propagate to each other. They are identified by a peer group id. The peer group id is available in @shared_mnt->mnt_group_id. Shared mounts within the same pe
