• May 29, 2026GitHub CLI (gh) is GitHub’s official command line tool.CVE-2026-48501 · Other software · cli · reported by GitHubHigh 7.4

GitHub CLI (gh) is GitHub’s official command line tool. Prior to 2.93.0, GitHub CLI incorrectly includes authorization header in API requests to TUF repository mirrors via gh attestation, gh release verify, and gh release verify-asset commands. The CLI uses a shared HTTP client with an authentication layer that automatically attaches tokens to outgoing requests. This layer lacks accurate host detection and can incorrectly attribute the target host, providing it with a token it should never receive. Specifically, the host normalization logic collapses any *.github.com subdomain to github.com, so a request to tuf-repo.github.com (a GitHub Pages site, not a GitHub API endpoint) is treated as a request to github.com and receives the user's github.com token. For hosts that don't match github.com or a known GHES instance at all, the resolver falls back to GH_ENTERPRISE_TOKEN if set. The gh attestation, gh release verify and gh release verify-asset commands fetch data from several external hosts as part of their normal operation (TUF metadata from tuf-repo.github.com and tuf-repo-cdn.sigstore.dev, artifact bundles from Azure Blob Storage). Because these requests go through the same authen

  • May 28, 2026Espressif Shared GitHub DangerJS is a reusable GitHub Action CI DangerJS workflow for Espressif GitHub projects.CVE-2026-44358 · Other software · espressif · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2

Espressif Shared GitHub DangerJS is a reusable GitHub Action CI DangerJS workflow for Espressif GitHub projects. Prior to 1.0.1, the action's entrypoint.sh invoked DangerJS from the caller's workspace after copying the fork's checkout into it, creating an untrusted search path for both binary resolution and Node.js module resolution. A fork pull request processed by a pull_request_target workflow could therefore cause fork-supplied code to execute inside the action container in place of the action's own code. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.0.1.

  • May 26, 2026A server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an unauthenticated attacker to send crafted requests CVE-2026-9312 · Other software · GitHub · reported by product-cna@github.comCritical 9.2

A server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an unauthenticated attacker to send crafted requests to internal services by exploiting insufficient input validation in an upload endpoint. By injecting path traversal content into request parameters, an attacker could bypass the intended request flow and redirect internal API calls, potentially accessing internal services and exposing sensitive credentials. This vulnerability affected all versions of GitHub Enterprise Server prior to 3.22 and was fixed in versions 3.17.17, 3.18.11, 3.19.8, 3.20.4, and 3.21.2. • May 26, 2026A Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an attacker to cause the server to issue HTTP requestCVE-2026-8606 · Other software · GitHub · reported by product-cna@github.comHigh 7

A Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an attacker to cause the server to issue HTTP requests to internal services via the security advisories package lookup feature. By directing requests to an internal management service and measuring response timing, an attacker could infer the values of sensitive environment variables, including signing secrets and private keys. Exploitation required GitHub Packages to be enabled; on instances not running in private mode the vulnerability was exploitable without authentication, otherwise any authenticated user could exploit it. This vulnerability affected all versions of GitHub Enterprise Server prior to 3.21.1 and was fixed in versions 3.20.3, 3.19.7, 3.18.10, 3.17.16, and 3.16.19. • May 24, 2026A vulnerability in the `GitHubRepository` block of the `prefect-github` integration in Prefect version 3.6.18 allows an attacker to inject arbitrary git commandCVE-2026-3515 · Other software · prefecthq · reported by security@huntr.devHigh 8.5

A vulnerability in the `GitHubRepository` block of the `prefect-github` integration in Prefect version 3.6.18 allows an attacker to inject arbitrary git command-line options via the `reference` field. The `reference` field is concatenated directly into a `git clone` command string without proper sanitization, and then parsed by `shlex.split()`. This enables injection of options such as `-c`, leading to potential Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), credential theft, or remote code execution (RCE). The vulnerability affects both the `aget_directory()` and `get_directory()` methods in `src/integrations/prefect-github/prefect_github/repository.py`. This issue does not affect the GitLab and BitBucket integrations, which use a safer list-based command construction approach.

  • May 15, 2026Gitsign is a keyless Sigstore to signing tool for Git commits with your a GitHub / OIDC identity.CVE-2026-44310 · Other software · sigstore · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4

Gitsign is a keyless Sigstore to signing tool for Git commits with your a GitHub / OIDC identity. From 0.4.0 to before 0.15.0, CertVerifier.Verify() in pkg/git/verifier.go unconditionally dereferences certs[0] after sd.GetCertificates() without checking the slice length. A CMS/PKCS7 signed message with an empty certificate set is a structurally valid DER payload; GetCertificates() returns an empty slice with no error, causing an immediate index-out-of-range panic. On the gitsign --verify code path (the GPG-compatible mode invoked by git verify-commit), the panic is silently recovered by internal/io/streams.go's Wrap() function, which returns nil instead of an error. main.go then exits with code 0, causing exit-code-only verification callers to interpret the failed verification as success. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.15.0.

  • May 15, 2026Gitsign is a keyless Sigstore to signing tool for Git commits with your a GitHub / OIDC identity.CVE-2026-44309 · Other software · sigstore · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

Gitsign is a keyless Sigstore to signing tool for Git commits with your a GitHub / OIDC identity. Prior to 0.16.0, gitsign verify and gitsign verify-tag re-encode commit/tag objects through go-git's EncodeWithoutSignature before checking the signature, instead of verifying against the raw git object bytes. For malformed objects with duplicate tree headers, git-core and go-git parse different trees: git-core uses the first, go-git uses the second. A signature crafted over the go-git-normalized form (second tree) passes gitsign verify while git-core resolves the commit to a completely different tree. This breaks the invariant that a verified signature, the commit semantics git-core presents to users, and the object hash logged in Rekor all refer to the same content. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.16.0.

  • May 15, 2026`gh` is GitHub’s official command line tool.CVE-2026-45803 · Other software · cli · reported by GitHubLow 3.5

`gh` is GitHub’s official command line tool. From 1.6.0 to before 2.92.0, a security vulnerability has been identified in GitHub CLI that could allow terminal escape sequence injection when users view GitHub Actions workflow logs using gh run view --log or gh run view --log-failed. The vulnerability stems from the way GitHub CLI handles raw Actions log output. The gh run view --log and gh run view --log-failed commands stream workflow log lines to stdout or the configured pager without sanitizing terminal control sequences. An attacker who can influence GitHub Actions log content, for example via a PR triggered workflow, can embed escape sequences that are replayed in the user's terminal when they inspect the run. Depending on the victim's terminal emulator, injected sequences could change the window title, manipulate on screen content, or in some terminal emulators (such as screen) potentially execute arbitrary commands. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.92.0.

  • May 13, 2026GitHub Copilot CLI brings AI-powered coding assistance directly to your command line.CVE-2026-45033 · Other software · github · reported by GitHubHigh 8.5

GitHub Copilot CLI brings AI-powered coding assistance directly to your command line. Prior to 1.0.43, a security vulnerability has been identified in GitHub Copilot CLI where a malicious bare git repository nested inside a project directory can achieve arbitrary code execution when the agent performs git operations. By exploiting git's automatic bare repository discovery during directory traversal, an attacker can set core.fsmonitor or other executable config keys to run arbitrary commands without user awareness or approval. The vulnerability arises because git's core.fsmonitor config key (and 15+ similar keys such as core.hookspath, diff.external, merge.tool, etc.) can specify arbitrary shell commands that git will execute as part of normal operations like status, diff, or rev-parse. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.0.43.

A server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an attacker to extract sensitive environment variables from the instance through a timing side-channel attack against the notebook rendering service. When private mode was disabled, the notebook viewer followed HTTP redirects without revalidating the destination host, enabling an unauthenticated SSRF to internal services. By chaining this with regex filter queries against an internal API and measuring response time differences, an attacker could infer secret values character by character. Versions of the package github.com/yuin/goldmark/renderer/html before 1.7.17 are vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS) due to improper ordering of URL validation and normalization. The renderer validates link destinations using a prefix-based check (IsDangerousURL) before resolving HTML entities. This allows an attacker to bypass protocol filtering by encoding dangerous schemes using HTML5 named character references. For example, a payload such as javascript:alert(1) is not recognized as dangerous during validation, leading to arbitrary script execution in the context of applications that render the URL.

  • Apr 8, 2026LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript.CVE-2026-39859 · Other software · harttle · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript. Prior to 10.25.3, liquidjs 10.25.0 documents root as constraining filenames passed to renderFile() and parseFile(), but top-level file loads do not enforce that boundary. A Liquid instance configured with an empty temporary directory as root can return the contents of arbitrary files. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.25.3.

LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript. Prior to 10.25.4, the sort_natural filter bypasses the ownPropertyOnly security option, allowing template authors to extract values of prototype-inherited properties through a sorting side-channel attack. Applications relying on ownPropertyOnly: true as a security boundary (e.g., multi-tenant template systems) are exposed to information disclosure of sensitive prototype properties such as API keys and tokens. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.25.4.

  • Apr 8, 2026LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript.CVE-2026-35525 · Other software · harttle · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2

LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript. Prior to 10.25.3, for {% include %}, {% render %}, and {% layout %}, LiquidJS checks whether the candidate path is inside the configured partials or layouts roots before reading it. That check is path-based, not realpath-based. Because of that, a file like partials/link.liquid passes the directory containment check as long as its pathname is under the allowed root. If link.liquid is actually a symlink to a file outside the allowed root, the filesystem follows the symlink when the file is opened and LiquidJS renders the external target. So the restriction is applied to the path string that was requested, not to the file that is actually read. This matters in environments where an attacker can place templates or otherwise influence files under a trusted template root, including uploaded themes, extracted archives, mounted content, or repository-controlled template trees. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.25.3.

  • Apr 8, 2026LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript.CVE-2026-34166 · Other software · harttle · reported by GitHubLow 3.7

LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript. Prior to 10.25.3, the replace filter in LiquidJS incorrectly accounts for memory usage when the memoryLimit option is enabled. It charges str.length + pattern.length + replacement.length bytes to the memory limiter, but the actual output from str.split(pattern).join(replacement) can be quadratically larger when the pattern occurs many times in the input string. This allows an attacker who controls template content to bypass the memoryLimit DoS protection with approximately 2,500x amplification, potentially causing out-of-memory conditions. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.25.3.

act is a project which allows for local running of github actions. Prior to version 0.2.86, act's built in actions/cache server listens to connections on all interfaces and allows anyone who can connect to it including someone anywhere on the internet to create caches with arbitrary keys and retrieve all existing caches. If they can predict which cache keys will be used by local actions, they can create malicious caches containing whatever files they please most likely allowing arbitrary remote code execution within the docker container. • Mar 25, 2026LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript.CVE-2026-33287 · Other software · harttle · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript. Prior to version 10.25.1, the `replace_first` filter in LiquidJS uses JavaScript's `String.prototype.replace()` which interprets `$&` as a back reference to the matched substring. The filter only charges `memoryLimit` for the input string length, not the amplified output. An attacker can achieve exponential memory amplification (up to 625,000:1) while staying within the `memoryLimit` budget, leading to denial of service. Version 10.25.1 patches the issue.

LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript. Prior to version 10.25.1, LiquidJS's `memoryLimit` security mechanism can be completely bypassed by using reverse range expressions (e.g., `(100000000..1)`), allowing an attacker to allocate unlimited memory. Combined with a string flattening operation (e.g., `replace` filter), this causes a V8 Fatal error that crashes the Node.js process, resulting in complete denial of service from a single HTTP request. Version 10.25.1 patches the issue.

  • Mar 20, 2026Harden-Runner is a CI/CD security agent that works like an EDR for GitHub Actions runners.CVE-2026-32947 · Other software · step-security · reported by GitHubMedium 4.6

Harden-Runner is a CI/CD security agent that works like an EDR for GitHub Actions runners. In versions 2.15.1 and below, a DNS over HTTPS (DoH) vulnerability allows attackers to bypass egress-policy: block network restrictions by tunneling exfiltrated data through permitted HTTPS endpoints like dns.google. The attack works by encoding sensitive data (e.g., the runner's hostname) as subdomains in DoH queries, which appear as legitimate HTTPS traffic to Harden-Runner's domain-based filtering but are ultimately forwarded to an attacker-controlled domain. This effectively enables data exfiltration without directly connecting to any blocked destination. Exploitation requires the attacker to already have code execution within the GitHub Actions workflow. The issue was fixed in version 2.16.0.

Harden-Runner is a CI/CD security agent that works like an EDR for GitHub Actions runners. In versions 2.15.1 and below, the Harden-Runner that allows bypass of the egress-policy: block network restriction using DNS queries over TCP. Egress policies are enforced on GitHub runners by filtering outbound connections at the network layer. When egress-policy: block is enabled with a restrictive allowed-endpoints list (e.g., only github.com:443), all non-compliant traffic should be denied. However, DNS queries over TCP, commonly used for large responses or fallback from UDP, are not adequately restricted. Tools like dig can explicitly initiate TCP-based DNS queries (+tcp flag) without being blocked. This vulnerability requires the attacker to already have code execution capabilities within the GitHub Actions workflow. The issue has been fixed in version 2.16.0.
