  • Oct 12, 2026An **incorrect authorization** flaw has been found in **network interface handling** in the **Foreman** package.CVE-2026-107203 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.4

    An **incorrect authorization** flaw has been found in **network interface handling** in the **Foreman** package. The domain and subnet interface API checks only that the caller holds a host permission. It does not apply the search limit on that permission, so the request is answered from every interface on the domain or subnet. A low-privileged network attacker or user must already be allowed to view some hosts and to view a domain or subnet shared with other hosts. They can request that domain or subnet's interfaces. The response includes interface records of hosts they are not allowed to view. If the attacker or user is also allowed to edit some hosts, they can submit a change to one of those interfaces. The interface is then saved with that change.

  • Oct 11, 2026The RFC 6528 initial-sequence-number implementation in subsys/net/ip/tcp.c derived every TCP ISN from SHA-256(unique_key || four-tuple) plus a uptime-derived ofCVE-2026-19735 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 4.8

    The RFC 6528 initial-sequence-number implementation in subsys/net/ip/tcp.c derived every TCP ISN from SHA-256(unique_key || four-tuple) plus a uptime-derived offset, where unique_key is a 128-bit secret filled once by sys_csrand_get(). The return value of that call was discarded and the once guard was latched to true even when the call failed. Because sys_csrand_get() leaves the destination buffer untouched on failure (it deliberately propagates the entropy-driver error rather than filling the buffer), a single failed call left unique_key as its all-zero BSS content for the remainder of the boot, with no retry, no log message and no fallback. A failure of the cryptographic random source is required to reach the weak state — for example -ENODEV/-EIO from the entropy driver in subsys/random/random_entropy_device.c (the in-tree comment notes that the hardware RNG "might still be gathering entropy during early boot situations"), or psa_generate_random() failing in subsys/random/random_psa.c when PSA crypto is not initialised or is backed by a Bluetooth-HCI entropy device that is not yet up. The first TCP connection is what triggers key generation, so a remote peer that reaches a liste

  • Oct 11, 2026net_route_ipv6_packet() in subsys/net/ip/route_ipv6.c resolved the nexthop's link-layer address with net_nbr_get_lladdr(nbr->idx) without first checking whetherCVE-2026-19577 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgHigh 7.1

    net_route_ipv6_packet() in subsys/net/ip/route_ipv6.c resolved the nexthop's link-layer address with net_nbr_get_lladdr(nbr->idx) without first checking whether the neighbor cache entry actually had a linked link-layer address. An unresolved neighbor carries idx == NET_NBR_LLADDR_UNKNOWN (0xff), and net_nbr_get_lladdr() in subsys/net/ip/nbr.c performs no runtime bounds check beyond a NET_ASSERT, returning &net_neighbor_lladdr[255] — roughly 2.5 KB past the end of an array whose default size is CONFIG_NET_IPV6_MAX_NEIGHBORS (8). Because the returned pointer is never NULL, the following lladdr == NULL guard does not catch it. The function is reached from ipv6_route_packet() in subsys/net/ip/ipv6.c for every received unicast IPv6 packet whose destination is not a local address on the receiving interface; CONFIG_NET_IPV6_ROUTE is enabled by default whenever the IPv6 neighbor cache is, so no router or forwarding configuration is needed. net_route_ipv6_get_info() returns the packet's destination itself as the nexthop when a neighbor cache entry for it exists, and the cache lookup does not skip INCOMPLETE entries. An unauthenticated attacker on the same link can therefore force the unres

  • Oct 9, 2026RIOT is an open-source microcontroller operating system designed for Internet of Things devices and other embedded systems.CVE-2026-107838 · Other software · RIOT-OS · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

    RIOT is an open-source microcontroller operating system designed for Internet of Things devices and other embedded systems. From version 2023.07 through version 2026.07, nanocoap_fileserver callers in sys/net/application_layer/nanocoap/fileserver.c ignore a failure returned by _resp_init() when coap_build_reply() cannot fit a response header into the response buffer. A remote client can send a CoAP request with a sufficiently large extended token when nanocoap_token_ext is enabled, causing response initialization to fail while _get_file() or _get_directory() continues with stale response state. The path then reaches _calc_szx2() and its pdu->payload_len > reserve assertion, terminating the affected service or device task. No fixed release is available as of this review.

  • Oct 9, 2026RIOT is an open-source microcontroller operating system designed for Internet of Things devices and other embedded systems.CVE-2026-107837 · Other software · RIOT-OS · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2

    RIOT is an open-source microcontroller operating system designed for Internet of Things devices and other embedded systems. In 2026.07 and earlier, _receive() in sys/net/gnrc/network_layer/sixlowpan/gnrc_sixlowpan.c can route an undersized packet into SFF fragment handling after only a minimal payload check. The code then interprets the packet as a sixlowpan_frag_t or larger fragment header without verifying that the packet snip contains the required bytes. A remote attacker can send a malformed 6LoWPAN fragment that causes gnrc_sixlowpan_frag_recv() to read beyond the packet buffer, potentially disclosing memory and crashing the network stack. RIOT is an open-source microcontroller operating system designed for Internet of Things devices and other embedded systems. In 2026.07 and earlier, the nanoCoAP client function nanocoap_sock_get_slice() in sys/net/application_layer/nanocoap/sock.c accepts a Block2 response when _block_cb() sees the expected block number without also verifying that the server-controlled szx and derived offset match the requested block geometry. A malicious CoAP server can return the expected block number with a larger block size, causing the derived offset to exceed the client slice offset and making ctx->offset - offset underflow in _2buf_slice(). The resulting buffer-relative calculation can read before the payload buffer and crash the client, causing denial of service and potentially exposing adjacent memory. This allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

  • Oct 9, 2026A NULL pointer dereference in the illumos Network Auto-Magic daemon (nwamd) allows a local user to crash the daemon.CVE-2026-104114 · Other software · illumos · reported by 0ca53633-f0b5-4853-ba72-e0a2e62000d0Medium 5.4

    A NULL pointer dereference in the illumos Network Auto-Magic daemon (nwamd) allows a local user to crash the daemon. nwamd_door_switch() in usr/src/cmd/cmd-inet/lib/nwamd/door_if.c writes to the caller's request structure before checking that a request was supplied, and before checking the caller's credentials. Because the nwamd door at /etc/svc/volatile/nwam/nwam_door is accessible to all local users, an unprivileged user can issue a door_call() with no argument data to crash nwamd; repeated calls place the svc:/network/physical:nwam service into maintenance, stopping automatic network configuration. nwamd runs only when svc:/network/physical:nwam is enabled, which is not the default. The flaw has existed since 2010 (illumos-gate commit 6ba597c5), and affects any illumos distribution prior to illumos-gate commit 0f1064d9.

  • Oct 9, 2026In Apache CXF, the Netty-based HTTP client transport (cxf-rt-transports-http-netty-client) did not verify that the hostname in the server’s TLS certificate matcCVE-2026-107938 · Email & office · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgCritical 9.1

    In Apache CXF, the Netty-based HTTP client transport (cxf-rt-transports-http-netty-client) did not verify that the hostname in the server’s TLS certificate matched the host being called. This applied over both HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2, even when disableCNCheck was left at its default value of false. The certificate chain was validated against the configured trust store, but the endpoint’s identity was not. A network attacker able to intercept traffic could present any certificate trusted by the client, such as a publicly issued certificate for a domain they control, and impersonate the target service. They could then read or modify the exchanged messages, including credentials.  Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.4 or 4.1.9 or 3.6.13, which fix this issue.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: reject IDR error pointers when deleting actions tcf_action_delete() drops the reference held by its lookup before calling tcf_idr_delete_index() with the saved action index. An unlocked classifier can remove that action and reserve the same IDR slot with ERR_PTR(-EBUSY) in between. tcf_idr_delete_index() only checks the lookup result for NULL. It therefore treats the reservation as a tc_action and dereferences tcfa_bindcnt. A hardware execution breakpoint was used to schedule the interleaving without changing the kernel source. • Oct 9, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/netfront: drop RX packets with a short Ethernet header handle_incoming_queue() pulls pCVE-2026-98375 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/netfront: drop RX packets with a short Ethernet header handle_incoming_queue() pulls pull_to bytes into the head before calling eth_type_trans(). pull_to is the length of the first RX slot, capped at RX_COPY_THRESHOLD, and that length comes from the backend. Nothing checks it against ETH_HLEN. If the first slot is shorter than ETH_HLEN and more slots follow, the head ends up shorter than an Ethernet header while skb->len is longer, and eth_type_trans() BUG()s in __skb_pull(). If the whole packet is shorter than ETH_HLEN, eth_type_trans() reads the header past the end of the data instead. Pull at least ETH_HLEN, and drop the packet if that fails, which also drops packets too short to hold an Ethernet header. This also checks the return value of the pull, which was ignored.

  • Oct 8, 2026HTTP/2 servers could end up crashing due to inadvertently modifying its HPACK encoder concurrently.CVE-2026-97032 · Other software · Go standard library · reported by security@golang.orgHigh 7.5

    HTTP/2 servers could end up crashing due to inadvertently modifying its HPACK encoder concurrently. This happens because the server modifies the HPACK encoder from two goroutines without synchronization: one uses the encoder to encode a HEADERS frame as part of a response sent to a client and the other modifies the encoder's table size when handling a SETTINGS frame containing SETTINGS_HEADER_TABLE_SIZE that a client sends. A malicious client can repeatedly send a request while changing the header table size to crash the server.
