Aug 22, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/page_table_check: skip special zero mappings page_table_check_set() and page_table_checCVE-2026-74600 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/page_table_check: skip special zero mappings page_table_check_set() and page_table_check_clear() account mappings based on PageAnon(). Shared zero-page PTEs and huge zero PMDs are special mappings, but page_table_check can still account them as file-backed pages. An unprivileged process can populate enough zero mappings to overflow file_map_count and hit the existing BUG_ON(). The PTE path can do this with the shared zero page, and the PMD path can do the same with huge zero mappings. Skip special zero mappings in the user page-table accounting paths. Keep the PTE-side pte_special() check, and identify huge zero PMDs from the mapped folio instead of pmd_special(). That covers architectures where pmd_special() is a no-op without adding huge_zero_pfn checks to the generic counter helpers.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs,fsverity: remove check for fsverity being enabled in setattr_prepare() The check that fs-verity is available in the kernel is not necessary here. Filesystems could have fsverity files even without fs-verity enabled. In that case, truncate on fsverity file will succeed, what this check is trying to prevent.

Aug 22, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fscrypt: use the mount idmap for the owner check in fscrypt_ioctl_set_policy() fscrypt_iocCVE-2026-74595 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fscrypt: use the mount idmap for the owner check in fscrypt_ioctl_set_policy() fscrypt_ioctl_set_policy() calls inode_owner_or_capable() with &nop_mnt_idmap before allowing an encryption policy to be set, instead of the idmap of the mount the ioctl was issued on. fscrypt is used by filesystems that support idmapped mounts (e.g. ext4, f2fs), so on such a mount this compares the caller's fsuid against the unmapped on-disk owner rather than the mapped owner: the actual owner can be wrongly denied with -EACCES and an unrelated caller wrongly allowed. Use file_mnt_idmap(filp) instead.

Aug 21, 2026FiftyOne is an open-source platform for refining high-quality datasets and visual AI models.CVE-2026-53656 · Other software · voxel51 · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3
FiftyOne is an open-source platform for refining high-quality datasets and visual AI models. Prior to 1.17.0, the FiftyOne App/API server in fiftyone/server/app.py and the /media route in fiftyone/server/routes/media.py unconditionally return Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *. Because the embedded server is local and unauthenticated, a malicious website visited by the user can read cross-origin responses. The /media endpoint accepts a filesystem path, allowing a drive-by page to read files accessible to the server process and exfiltrate them without additional clicks. The allowed_origins configuration and FIFTYONE_ALLOWED_ORIGINS environment variable now make cross-origin access explicit, while the default policy is same-origin. This issue is fixed in version 1.17.0.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vhost: reset the vring metadata cache on vring reconfiguration vq->meta_iotlb[] caches the vhost_iotlb_map that backs each vring metadata region, and iotlb_access_ok() returns early on a cache hit, taking the hit as proof that the region has already been validated: if (vhost_vq_meta_fetch(vq, addr, len, type)) return true; The cache is reset on VHOST_IOTLB_UPDATE and VHOST_IOTLB_INVALIDATE, on device IOTLB (re)initialisation and on vq reset, but not when VHOST_SET_VRING_ADDR replaces vq->desc, vq->avail and vq->used, nor when VHOST_SET_VRING_NUM changes the region sizes. With a device IOTLB attached both ioctls are accepted while the vq is live, and neither validates the addresses at ioctl time: vq_access_ok() and vq_log_used_access_ok() return true early because the addresses are GIOVAs, deferring validation to prefetch time. Once the cache has been populated that deferred validation no longer runs -- vq_meta_prefetch() hits the stale entry and returns true -- and vhost_vq_meta_fetch() keeps translating through the old mapping as map->addr + addr - map->start for an address the mapping no longer covers

Remote Utilities Host <=7.7.3.0 sets insecure ACLs on all DLL files in the installation directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Remote Utilities - Host\), granting FULL CONTROL (F) to the built-in Everyone group (BUILTIN\Everyone, S-1-1-0). A Windows service running as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM loads DLLs from this directory. The DLLs are file-locked at runtime, but a race window exists when the service is stopped (e.g. during a software update or following a crash), during which a local unprivileged attacker can replace a DLL with a malicious payload. Upon service restart, the payload executes as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. The DLL confirmed as actively loaded during testing is libasset32.dll. Additional DLLs in the same directory (eventmsg.dll, libcodec32.dll, vp8encoder.dll, vp8decoder.dll, webmvorbisdecoder.dll, webmvorbisencoder.dll, webmmux.dll) share identical insecure permissions.

The setWebhookResolver in packages/api/src/resolvers/webhooks/index.ts stores the caller-supplied url without any address validation, and the file imports no validation helper. When a subscribed event fires, callWebhook in packages/api/src/jobs/call_webhook.ts issues axios.request with that url, the method and Content-Type recorded on the webhook, and a JSON body carrying the event data, so an authenticated user can make the server send repeated attacker-shaped requests to internal endpoints, including link-local metadata addresses. The request is blind: callWebhook discards the result and writes only a success line or the axios error to the server log, so the response is not returned through the API.

Aug 19, 2026In OpenStack Aodh before 22.0.1, the alarm list API bypasses project scoping when the all_projects query parameter is set to false.CVE-2026-76878 · Other software · OpenStack · reported by MITREHigh 8.4
In OpenStack Aodh before 22.0.1, the alarm list API bypasses project scoping when the all_projects query parameter is set to false. The API checks for the presence of the all_projects key rather than its value; a true value enforces the administrator-only policy, but a false value removes the key and skips the branch that normally restricts results to the caller's project. A non-admin user with the reader role can list alarms from all projects, exposing alarm actions containing trust webhook URLs, Heat signal endpoints, project IDs, and user IDs. The parameter can also be combined with a foreign project_id to target a specific project's alarms. A related concern is that OpenStack Watcher does not apply authorization to its webhook trigger endpoint. Any authenticated user who learns an audit's webhook URL, for example from this leaked Aodh alarm metadata, can start an EVENT audit and its associated action plan regardless of their own project or role. The webhook endpoint has lacked policy enforcement since its introduction in the Ussuri release (Watcher 4.0.0).

Aug 19, 2026The NVS backend of the Zephyr settings subsystem (subsys/settings/src/settings_nvs.c) reads stored setting-name entries into fixed 74-byte stack buffers and NULCVE-2026-12634 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 5.3
The NVS backend of the Zephyr settings subsystem (subsys/settings/src/settings_nvs.c) reads stored setting-name entries into fixed 74-byte stack buffers and NUL-terminates them with buf[rc] = '\0', where rc is the return value of nvs_read(). Per its contract, nvs_read() returns the full stored entry length (wlk_ate.len), which can exceed the supplied buffer length — only MIN(len, stored_len) bytes are actually copied, but the return value may be much larger, bounded only by the NVS sector size. Three sites (settings_nvs_cache_match(), settings_nvs_load(), and settings_nvs_save()) used this value directly as the NUL index without clamping, so an oversized stored name entry causes a single \0 byte to be written past the end of the stack buffer at an attacker-influenced offset (CWE-787). The oversized entry cannot arise through the normal settings API, where names are bounded by SETTINGS_MAX_NAME_LEN. It requires an actor able to write the flash that backs the settings partition — a co-resident or untrusted component sharing the flash device, a malicious settings image/restore, or offline/physical flash access (a shared-flash threat model). The malformed entry is parsed when settings

Snipe-IT is an IT asset/license management system. Prior to 8.6.2, a stored manufacturer or supplier name passed as the table component $name becomes data-selected-count-id in resources/views/partials/bootstrap-table.blade.php. Client-side code reads the browser-decoded countId, uses it as a selector, concatenates countId.substring(1) into an HTML string, and passes the string to jQuery .after(). Prior to 8.6.1, a user with the import permission can use CSV update mode to overwrite the email address of a non-admin user and then request a password reset to take over that account. app/Importer/UserImporter.php applies the canEditAuthFields gate by unsetting username, email, password, and activated on the model, but app/Importer/ItemImporter.php sanitizeItemForUpdating() rebuilds the update array from the raw CSV row in $this->item, restoring the unauthorized values. The app/Http/Controllers/ImportController.php import path checks import permission but does not require users.edit. This issue is fixed in version 8.6.1.

Aug 19, 2026Snipe-IT is an IT asset/license management system.CVE-2026-49870 · Other software · grokability · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9
Snipe-IT is an IT asset/license management system. Prior to 8.6.1, POST /two-factor has no rate limiting, lockout, or attempt counter, allowing an attacker with valid credentials to submit unlimited TOTP guesses against the three accepted codes created by config/google2fa.php window=1. A successful guess creates a fully authenticated session. When two_factor_enabled is 1, POST /account/profile with two_factor_optin=0 can disable two-factor authentication without OTP reverification, while required mode 2 prevents that opt-out. An administrator can also use POST /api/v1/users/two_factor_reset to clear another user's secret. This issue is fixed in version 8.6.1.

Aug 19, 2026Authentication Bypass by Capture-replay in ZenHive mpp allows an unauthenticated third party to obtain paid resources by replaying a transfer settled by an unreCVE-2026-73136 · Other software · ZenHive · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.2
Authentication Bypass by Capture-replay in ZenHive mpp allows an unauthenticated third party to obtain paid resources by replaying a transfer settled by an unrelated payer. MPP.Methods.Tempo normally binds a settled TIP-20 TransferWithMemo to the specific challenge under verification through an attribution nonce carried in the memo. When a static "memo" is configured in method_config, check_matched_memo_binding/3 returns the match unconditionally and that binding is skipped, leaving only token, recipient, amount and the static memo value to match on. The static memo is echoed in every unauthenticated 402 response and Tempo transfers are public, so an attacker can take any matching transfer paid by a legitimate customer, request a fresh challenge for the same route, and present that transaction hash as a type="hash" credential. The hash path performs no sender or signature check tying the presenter to the wallet that broadcast the transfer. This issue affects mpp: from 0.6.1 before 0.6.4.

Aug 19, 2026Authentication Bypass by Capture-replay in ZenHive mpp allows an unauthenticated remote client to obtain paid resources by resubmitting one settled on-chain traCVE-2026-67581 · Other software · ZenHive · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.7
Authentication Bypass by Capture-replay in ZenHive mpp allows an unauthenticated remote client to obtain paid resources by resubmitting one settled on-chain transfer. MPP.Methods.EVM.verify/2 accepts a transaction-hash credential and matches a transfer purely on token, to and amount (ERC-20) or to and value (native). It binds the proof neither to the challenge being verified nor to any record of prior use, and the generic MPP.Plug dedup store keys on challenge.id, which is regenerated for every 402 response. On a static-price route, a single historical transfer matching the charge therefore satisfies an unbounded number of later charges, including transfers an attacker can read off a public block explorer. This issue affects mpp: from 0.3.0 before 0.6.3.

Aug 19, 2026GitPython versions before 3.1.58 contain an arbitrary file overwrite vulnerability in IndexFile.from_tree, IndexFile.reset, and IndexFile.merge_tree methods thaCVE-2026-76219 · Other software · gitpython-developers · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.2
GitPython versions before 3.1.58 contain an arbitrary file overwrite vulnerability in IndexFile.from_tree, IndexFile.reset, and IndexFile.merge_tree methods that append caller-influenced treeish strings to git read-tree without option validation or argument separation. Attackers can inject the --index-output option to overwrite arbitrary files with a valid git-index blob, destroying existing file content at attacker-controlled writable paths.

phpMyFAQ before 4.1.7 contains a brute-force vulnerability in the two-factor authentication step where the failure counter is session-scoped and reset on each successful password re-authentication. Attackers with a valid password can bypass the five-attempt limit by obtaining a fresh session cookie and repeatedly re-authenticating to reset the counter, enabling unbounded TOTP code guessing.

Aug 19, 2026The GETALL and SETALL commands in semctl(2) recorded the number of semaphores in the target set, dropped the lock protecting the set, allocated a buffer sized fCVE-2026-58087 · Other software · FreeBSD · reported by secteam@freebsd.orgHigh 7.8
The GETALL and SETALL commands in semctl(2) recorded the number of semaphores in the target set, dropped the lock protecting the set, allocated a buffer sized for that count, and reacquired the lock. A sequence-number check was used to verify that the set had not been replaced in the interim, but the sequence number wraps after 0x8000 create/destroy cycles. By rapidly destroying and recreating semaphore sets at the same index, another process can cause the sequence number to wrap, allowing a set with a different number of semaphores to pass validation. The subsequent copy then reads or writes past the end of the allocated buffer. An unprivileged local user can trigger out-of-bounds reads and writes on kernel heap memory, potentially leading to privilege escalation.

The ZFS_IOC_SET_PROP ioctl, used by zfs-set(8), incorrectly validated the calling user such that an unprivileged user is able to set metadata on a dataset indicating that the dataset has received properties from a zfs-recv(8) stream. Any local user can set the internal ZFS metadata flag "$hasrecvd" on datasets via ZFS_IOC_SET_PROP.

Certain system calls, such open(2) with the O_TRUNC flag set, and fspacectl(2), could incorrectly free memory in largepage objects. These operations are not permitted on largepage objects, but the implementation did not verify this. An unprivileged local user can abuse the bug to access freed kernel memory. Aug 19, 2026When auditing a system call executed via ptrace(PT_SC_REMOTE), the kernel passed the return value of an internal setup function to AUDIT_SYSCALL_EXIT() rather tCVE-2026-49426 · Other software · FreeBSD · reported by secteam@freebsd.orgLow 3.3
When auditing a system call executed via ptrace(PT_SC_REMOTE), the kernel passed the return value of an internal setup function to AUDIT_SYSCALL_EXIT() rather than the actual result of the executed system call. As a result, committed audit records for system calls which returned an error do not reflect the true outcome of the operation. That is, they indicate that the operation succeeded when it in fact failed. Audit records for system calls executed via ptrace(PT_SC_REMOTE) may show an incorrect error status. An attacker with the ability to debug a process could use this to produce misleading audit trails, potentially undermining audit-based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).

Aug 19, 2026The RACK setsockopt(2) handler drops the connection lock in order to copy option data from userspace, then reacquires the lock.CVE-2026-49422 · Other software · FreeBSD · reported by secteam@freebsd.orgHigh 8.4
The RACK setsockopt(2) handler drops the connection lock in order to copy option data from userspace, then reacquires the lock. After reacquiring, it verifies that the TCP stack had not been switched away, but did not reload its pointer to the stack's per-connection control block. If userspace switches stacks twice during this window, the check will succeed but the saved pointer will refer to freed memory. The bug may be exploitable by an unprivileged local user to escalate privileges.

Aug 19, 2026When the JAIL_AT_DESC flag is specified, kern_jail_set() and kern_jail_get() released the reference to the caller's current prison before looking up the jail deCVE-2026-49419 · Other software · FreeBSD · reported by secteam@freebsd.orgHigh 8.8
When the JAIL_AT_DESC flag is specified, kern_jail_set() and kern_jail_get() released the reference to the caller's current prison before looking up the jail descriptor. If the descriptor lookup failed, error-handling paths released the same reference a second time. An unprivileged local user can trigger a prison reference count underflow, which may cause the prison structure to be freed while still in use. When this is done on the jail host, the bug will generally result in an immediate panic. However, if the user is running in a jail, then it may be possible to exploit the bug to elevate privileges.
