Aug 10, 2026tar-rs versions 0.4.11 through 0.4.46 contain a symlink escape vulnerability in the Builder::append_dir_all() function that allows attackers to read files outsiCVE-2026-70622 · Other software · composefs · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.1
tar-rs versions 0.4.11 through 0.4.46 contain a symlink escape vulnerability in the Builder::append_dir_all() function that allows attackers to read files outside the intended source root directory by planting symlinks in an attacker-controlled directory. When a privileged process archives an untrusted directory, the function follows symlinks without verifying that resolved targets remain within the source root, causing out-of-bounds files to be included in the archive as regular files and disclosed to the attacker.

Aug 10, 2026goose is general-purpose AI agent that runs on your machine.CVE-2026-72718 · Other software · aaif-goose · reported by GitHubHigh 7
goose is general-purpose AI agent that runs on your machine. Prior to 1.44.0, the `goose review` command runs the system `git` executable to gather the diff for review without stripping attacker-controlled Git configuration. A malicious repository whose `.git/config` sets [`core] fsmonitor = <command>` causes Git to execute that command on the host during the index refresh performed by `git diff HEAD`. The command runs before goose contacts a model and without a submitted prompt, model call, tool approval, or trust prompt. The context-gathering Git process is not sandboxed and is outside goose's tool-permission model. Arbitrary commands run with the privileges and environment of the user running goose, allowing file access or modification and exfiltration of environment secrets and provider API keys. The vulnerable Git invocations are built by git_command() in crates/goose-cli/src/commands/review/handler.rs and are used by touched_files() and collect_diff() for `git diff --name-only HEAD` and `git diff HEAD`. This issue is fixed in version 1.44.0.

Aug 10, 2026Affected versions of MISP cti-transmute disclose users' email addresses through the account following-list endpoint.CVE-2026-72760 · Other software · MISP · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 5.3
Affected versions of MISP cti-transmute disclose users' email addresses through the account following-list endpoint. When an authenticated user follows another account, get_following() includes the followed user's email field in the API response alongside their name, user ID, and follow date. Because the email address is not required for the functionality and other related user lists omit it, an authenticated attacker could systematically follow users and collect their email addresses. The fix removes user.email from the returned object.

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cifs: fix cifsFileInfo leak on kmalloc failure in deferred close drain paths In cifs_closeCVE-2026-68312 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cifs: fix cifsFileInfo leak on kmalloc failure in deferred close drain paths In cifs_close_deferred_file(), cifs_close_all_deferred_files(), and cifs_close_deferred_file_under_dentry(), when a pending deferred close is cancelled via cancel_delayed_work(), the subsequent kmalloc_obj() to add the file to the local processing list may fail under memory pressure. The loop breaks immediately, but the cancelled work is no longer pending (it would have called _cifsFileInfo_put()), and the cfile is never added to file_head for processing. The cifsFileInfo reference and the open server handle both leak. Fix by saving the cfile that failed allocation in a local variable, breaking as before, and calling _cifsFileInfo_put() on it after releasing the lock. Any files later in the iteration are unaffected since their deferred work is still pending and will fire normally.

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: close a re-opened queue timer in the destructor queue_delete() closes the queueCVE-2026-68202 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: close a re-opened queue timer in the destructor queue_delete() closes the queue timer, then frees it. snd_seq_timer_close() clears q->timer->timeri. snd_use_lock_sync() then drains borrowers, and snd_seq_timer_delete() frees q->timer. A borrower can re-open the timer inside that window. A SET_QUEUE_CLIENT that took a queueptr() use_lock reference before the queue was unlinked runs snd_seq_timer_open() after the close. Open refuses re-open only while timeri is set, and the close just cleared it, so it re-opens timeri. snd_seq_timer_delete() does not close that instance. Its snd_seq_timer_stop() is a no-op, because running was cleared first. So it frees q->timer with the instance still live. The queue is freed next. The instance stays on the global timer with callback_data pointing at the freed queue. A non-owner START on the unlocked queue arms it. The next tick derefs the freed queue in snd_seq_timer_interrupt(). Reachable by an unprivileged user with access to /dev/snd/seq. No CAP and no queue ownership required. Close any lingering instance in the destructor. There, ->timeri can no longer change

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: timer: drain a slave's callback before its master detaches it snd_timer_close_lockedCVE-2026-68201 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: timer: drain a slave's callback before its master detaches it snd_timer_close_locked() drains the closing instance's own in-flight callback (IFLG_CALLBACK) before freeing it, but not its slaves'. When a master instance is closed, remove_slave_links() clears each slave's ->timer; the slave's own close then reads timer == NULL and takes the branch that skips the drain entirely (snd_timer_stop_slave() also no-ops on a NULL timer). So a slave whose callback is still running when the master is closed is freed underneath the live callback, leading to use-after-free. Drain the slaves too before remove_slave_links() severs them. snd_timer_stop() has already taken this instance off the active list, so no new slave callback can be queued. Take the slaves off the ack list so a pending one can't fire either, then wait for any that is already in flight.

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix resource leak on mmiotrace trace_pipe close The mmiotrace tracer was added MaCVE-2026-68175 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix resource leak on mmiotrace trace_pipe close The mmiotrace tracer was added May 12th 2008. At that time, resources created in pipe_open() could not be freed because there was not pipe_close function pointer of the tracer. The pipe_close function pointer was added in December 7th, 2009, but the mmiotrace tracer was not updated. mmio_pipe_open() allocates a header_iter and takes a pci_dev reference when trace_pipe is opened. mmio_close() frees them, but it was only wired to the tracer's .close callback. tracing_release_pipe() invokes .pipe_close, not .close, when the trace_pipe file is released. As a result, closing trace_pipe with the mmiotrace tracer active leaked the header_iter allocation and left a stale pci_dev reference. Set .pipe_close to mmio_close, matching how function_graph wires both callbacks to the same handler. Note, if the trace_pipe is read to completion, it will clean up the resources, but if one were to run: # head -n 1 /sys/kernel/tracing/trace_pipe VERSION 20070824 Over and over again, it would trigger a massive leak.

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: fix stale skb->sk reference on subflow close The backlog list is updated by mptcp_dCVE-2026-68170 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: fix stale skb->sk reference on subflow close The backlog list is updated by mptcp_data_ready() under mptcp_data_lock(). The cleanup of backlog references to a closing subflow, however, was performed in mptcp_close_ssk(), before __mptcp_close_ssk() acquires the ssk lock, and while holding neither the ssk lock nor mptcp_data_lock(). Because that traversal ran without mptcp_data_lock(), concurrent softirq RX processing on another CPU (subflow_data_ready() -> mptcp_data_ready() -> __mptcp_add_backlog(), under mptcp_data_lock()) could add a backlog entry referencing the ssk while the cleanup loop was in progress. Such an entry could be missed by the cleanup, or the concurrent list update could corrupt the traversal, leaving skb->sk pointing at the ssk after it is freed. A later mptcp_backlog_purge() then dereferences the stale pointer, triggering a warning in inet_sock_destruct() (ssk->sk_rmem_alloc != 0) followed by a use-after-free in mptcp_backlog_purge(). Fix this by moving the backlog cleanup into __mptcp_close_ssk(), after subflow->closing is set to 1 and while the ssk lock is still held, serialized un

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: close UDP tunnel sockets during netns teardown proc_sctp_do_udp_port() starts per-net SCTP UDP tunneling sockets when net.sctp.udp_port is set, and stops/restarts them when the sysctl value changes. The netns exit path does not stop these sockets, so a namespace can be torn down while its SCTP UDP tunnel sockets are still installed. Close the UDP tunnel sockets from sctp_ctrlsock_exit() after unregistering the per-net sysctl table. This prevents new sysctl writes from racing in while the sockets are being released, and closes the sockets before the control socket is destroyed.

Aug 7, 2026`scim-patch`, a library to perform SCIM patch, prior to version 0.9.1 performs prototype pollution when applying a SCIM PATCH operation whose `value` object conCVE-2026-48170 · Other software · thomaspoignant · reported by GitHubCritical 9.1
`scim-patch`, a library to perform SCIM patch, prior to version 0.9.1 performs prototype pollution when applying a SCIM PATCH operation whose `value` object contains a key like `"__proto__.someProp"`. After one such patch, `Object.prototype.someProp` is set process-wide, affecting every plain object in the Node process. Any service that calls `scimPatch()` on attacker-controlled JSON (i.e. any SCIM endpoint accepting `PATCH` from an external IdP) is exploitable on a stock Node runtime. Version 0.9.1 contains a patch. A workaround is available. Calling `Object.freeze(Object.prototype)` (and the same on `Array.prototype`, `Function.prototype`) at process startup neutralizes this class of bug — assignment to a frozen prototype becomes a silent no-op in sloppy mode or a `TypeError` in strict mode. Node's `--frozen-intrinsics` flag does this for built-ins automatically.

Aug 7, 2026Imager versions from 0.45_02 before 1.034 for Perl may expose adjacent heap bytes via strlen() over-read from zero-count ASCII EXIF entries in copy_string_tags.CVE-2026-19082 · Other software · TONYC · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.5
Imager versions from 0.45_02 before 1.034 for Perl may expose adjacent heap bytes via strlen() over-read from zero-count ASCII EXIF entries in copy_string_tags. copy_string_tags() computes an ASCII EXIF tag's length as `entry->size - 1` to strip the trailing NUL. A zero-count ASCII entry sets `entry->size` to 0, and the derived length reaches i_tags_add() as -1, which is interpreted as a request to call strlen(), scanning past the entry to the next NUL and copying those bytes into the tag. JPEG reaches this path via im_decode_exif(), as does the separate Imager::File::WEBP distribution, which is fixed by upgrading Imager. Any caller of Imager->read() on an attacker-supplied image with such an entry may receive an exif_* tag holding adjacent heap bytes instead of an empty string.

Aug 7, 2026Tobit Laboratories AG TeamDavid's Webbox application exposes a functionality that allows the server to be shut down when a specific endpoint (/internalRestart)CVE-2026-54213 · Other software · Tobit Laboratories AG · reported by vulnerability@ncsc.chCritical 9.2
Tobit Laboratories AG TeamDavid's Webbox application exposes a functionality that allows the server to be shut down when a specific endpoint (/internalRestart) is accessed. This endpoint is accessible to unauthenticated users over the public Internet. Instead of “restarting”, the server shuts completely down. As a result, a remote attacker can trigger a persistent denial of service by shutting down the web server without requiring authentication. Recovery requires manual administrator intervention to restart the service. This issue affects TeamDavid before Rollout 528. Aug 6, 2026diboot-core's POST /common/load-related-data endpoint resolves caller-supplied field names to any @TableField column of any entity and returns those values for CVE-2026-70557 · Other software · diboot · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.1
diboot-core's POST /common/load-related-data endpoint resolves caller-supplied field names to any @TableField column of any entity and returns those values for all rows, with no field or entity allowlist. The only guard, relatedDataSecurityCheck(), returns true unconditionally, so any authenticated user (including a zero-role account) can read @JsonIgnore-annotated secret fields such as IamAccount.authSecret and IamAccount.secretSalt for every account, or arbitrary secret fields of any other entity. Shiro's two-iteration MD5 with an 8-character salt is trivially crackable offline, so the disclosed admin password hashes convert to full administrative takeover. The endpoint is not example code; the official diboot-admin-ui frontend requires it, so deployments following the vendor's recommended integration expose it. The mechanism was renamed relatedData* to attachMore* on the development branch, but attachMoreSecurityCheck() also returns true unconditionally.

aiosend is a synchronous and asynchronous Crypto Pay API client. Pror to version 3.0.7, `WebhookHandler.feed_update()` deserializes the entire request body before verifying the HMAC signature. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to force expensive parsing of arbitrary JSON payloads that will ultimately be rejected, leading to unnecessary CPU and memory consumption. Version 3.0.7 fixes the issue. Some workarounds are available. Aug 5, 2026In Eclipse Theia versions up to and including 1.73.1, the `@theia/filesystem` backend exposes HTTP file-download endpoints (`GET /file`, `GET /files/`, `PUT /fiCVE-2026-61891 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgHigh 7.5
In Eclipse Theia versions up to and including 1.73.1, the `@theia/filesystem` backend exposes HTTP file-download endpoints (`GET /file`, `GET /files/`, `PUT /files/`) that convert a client-supplied URI directly to a filesystem path and stream the file, without confining it to the workspace or any allow-listed root. In browser (non-Electron) deployments the connection token is enforced only on WebSocket upgrades; the HTTP middleware in `@theia/core` re-issues the cookie and calls `next()` without rejecting tokenless HTTP requests, so these endpoints are reachable without a valid token. As a result an unauthenticated client can read any file readable by the backend process, including files outside the opened workspace (for example `/etc/hosts`, SSH keys, or tokens). Electron mode uses a separate `ElectronSecurityToken` and is not affected via this path.

Aug 5, 2026In Eclipse Theia versions 1.66.0 and up until including 1.73.1, the `@theia/plugin-ext` backend exposes the `/hostedPlugin/:pluginId/:path(*)` HTTP endpoint, whCVE-2026-12609 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgHigh 7.5
In Eclipse Theia versions 1.66.0 and up until including 1.73.1, the `@theia/plugin-ext` backend exposes the `/hostedPlugin/:pluginId/:path(*)` HTTP endpoint, which resolves the requested file path with `path.resolve(localPath, filePath)` without verifying that the resolved path stays within the plugin's directory. An unauthenticated network attacker can send percent-encoded `../` sequences (`%2e%2e%2f`) that decode into the path parameter and escape the plugin directory, allowing arbitrary files readable by the Theia backend process to be retrieved. Plugin IDs are derived deterministically from a plugin's publisher and name, so built-in plugins serve as reliable anchors that require no prior knowledge of the target system.

Aug 3, 2026python-cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers.CVE-2026-69249 · Other software · pyca · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
python-cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers. In versions 42.0.0 through 48.0.0, when resolving invalid certificate chains that include duplicate copies of self-signed certificates, the processing recursively invokes the same candidate, leading to an exponential blowup. Although the limitation that the chain depth cannot exceed a specified maximum depth prevents unbounded recursion and guarantees termination, an attacker-controlled certificate chain can lead the processing to easily take more than 5s to reject in testing. This amplification could form the basis for a resource exhaustion denial of service attack. The core issue arises in the recursive nature of build_chain_inner, which does not de-duplicate against previously analyzed candidates. As the correctness of validation is not affected, the integrity of a system cannot be compromised through this vector, only its availability. This issue is fixed in 49.0.0.

Aug 3, 2026cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers.CVE-2026-69248 · Other software · pyca · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9
cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers. In versions 45.0.0 through 48.0.0, if an intermediate constrained CA permits the DNS name foo.example.com, and the leaf certificate has a wildcard in its DNS SAN of *.example.com, python-cryptography's verifier accepts which allows escaping outside of the permitted names. The core issue is in DNSConstraint::matches, where a wildcard pattern was treated as matching a more-specific permitted constraint even though *.example.com can expand to sibling names such as bar.example.com outside foo.example.com. This allows acceptance of an invalid certificate chain. This issue is fixed in 49.0.0.

Aug 3, 2026cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers.CVE-2026-69247 · Other software · pyca · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2
cryptography is a package designed to expose cryptographic primitives and recipes to Python developers. From 44.0.0 until 50.0.0, pkcs7_decrypt_der, pkcs7_decrypt_pem, and pkcs7_decrypt_smime reported the outcome of decrypting a RecipientInfo's encryptedKey in several distinguishable ways, one of which disclosed the exact length recovered from the RSA operation. The same distinction was also observable by timing. An application that decrypts attacker-supplied EnvelopedData and reflects the outcome gives the attacker a Bleichenbacher oracle against the content-encryption key. Decryption ran as RSA PKCS#1 v1.5 decrypt of encryptedKey, build an AES cipher from the result, then AES-CBC decrypt and PKCS#7 unpad. Invalid RSA padding, a valid padding with a bad key length, a correct length with a wrong key, and the real key each failed or succeeded differently. Case 1 is reachable only where the linked library lacks implicit rejection: OpenSSL 3.0 and 3.1, LibreSSL, and BoringSSL. Exploitation requires a service that auto-decrypts untrusted EnvelopedData matching the victim certificate and answers adaptively at high volume, such as an S/MIME gateway or mail filter. Authorization handling for Parameter Context validation requests in Apache NiFi 1.10.0 through 2.10.0 allows clients with read access to submit proposed Parameter values. The proposed values override current configuration, enabling users with read access to invoke predefined component validation methods with alternative settings. Apache NiFi installations that do not implement different levels of authorization for viewing and modifying Parameter Context configuration are not subject to this vulnerability. Upgrading to Apache NiFi 2.11.0 is the recommended mitigation, requiring write access to submit Parameter Context validation requests.

Aug 3, 2026Net::SAML2 versions before 0.86 for Perl allow authentication bypass because _verify_encrypted_assertion accepts an EncryptedAssertion whose decrypted content cCVE-2026-18108 · Other software · TIMLEGGE · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eCritical 9.8
Net::SAML2 versions before 0.86 for Perl allow authentication bypass because _verify_encrypted_assertion accepts an EncryptedAssertion whose decrypted content carries no signature. _verify_encrypted_assertion decrypts the EncryptedAssertion and returns it as verified when it carries no signature, via "return $xml unless $xpath->exists('dsig:Signature', $assert);". The signature check and the trust anchor check that follow run only when a signature is present, so a decrypted assertion with no dsig:Signature element reaches new_from_xml unverified and its NameID and attributes are read into the assertion object. An SP's encryption certificate is published in its SAML metadata so the IdP can encrypt to it, so any party can encrypt an unsigned assertion to that certificate, wrap it in a samlp:Response, and post it to the assertion consumer service. Any caller that configures a decryption key_file, and so accepts EncryptedAssertions, takes identity fields from an assertion that no trust anchor covers, and an unauthenticated party can authenticate as an arbitrary user. Callers with no key_file configured do not decrypt and are unaffected.
