  • Apr 10, 2026Apache Log4j's JsonTemplateLayout https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/json-template-layout.html , in versions up to and including 2.25.3, produces invaCVE-2026-34481 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 6.3

Apache Log4j's JsonTemplateLayout https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/json-template-layout.html , in versions up to and including 2.25.3, produces invalid JSON output when log events contain non-finite floating-point values (NaN, Infinity, or -Infinity), which are prohibited by RFC 8259. This may cause downstream log processing systems to reject or fail to index affected records. An attacker can exploit this issue only if both of the following conditions are met: * The application uses JsonTemplateLayout. * The application logs a MapMessage, or logs an object directly (e.g., via Logger.info(Object), which wraps it in an ObjectMessage), where the message contains an attacker-controlled floating-point value. Users are advised to upgrade to Apache Log4j JSON Template Layout 2.25.4, which corrects this issue. Note: The fix released in version 2.25.4 did not cover all affected code paths. CVE-2026-49844 was assigned to the remaining issue, which concerns the MapMessage.asJson() serialization in Apache Log4j API and is fixed in versions 2.25.5 and 2.26.1.

Apache Log4j Core's XmlLayout https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/layouts.html#XmlLayout , in versions up to and including 2.25.3, fails to sanitize characters forbidden by the XML 1.0 specification https://www.w3.org/TR/xml/#charsets producing invalid XML output whenever a log message or MDC value contains such characters. The impact depends on the StAX implementation in use: * JRE built-in StAX: Forbidden characters are silently written to the output, producing malformed XML. Conforming parsers must reject such documents with a fatal error, which may cause downstream log-processing systems to drop the affected records. * Alternative StAX implementations (e.g., Woodstox https://github.com/FasterXML/woodstox , a transitive dependency of the Jackson XML Dataformat module): An exception is thrown during the logging call, and the log event is never delivered to its intended appender, only to Log4j's internal status logger. Apache Log4j Core's Rfc5424Layout https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/layouts.html#RFC5424Layout , in versions 2.21.0 through 2.25.3, is vulnerable to log injection via CRLF sequences due to undocumented renames of security-relevant configuration attributes. Two distinct issues affect users of stream-based syslog services who configure Rfc5424Layout directly: * The newLineEscape attribute was silently renamed, causing newline escaping to stop working for users of TCP framing (RFC 6587), exposing them to CRLF injection in log output. * The useTlsMessageFormat attribute was silently renamed, causing users of TLS framing (RFC 5425) to be silently downgraded to unframed TCP (RFC 6587), without newline escaping. Users of the SyslogAppender are not affected, as its configuration attributes were not modified. Users are advised to upgrade to Apache Log4j Core 2.25.4, which corrects this issue.

The fix for CVE-2025-68161 https://logging.apache.org/security.html#CVE-2025-68161 was incomplete: it addressed hostname verification only when enabled via the log4j2.sslVerifyHostName https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/systemproperties.html#log4j2.sslVerifyHostName system property, but not when configured through the verifyHostName https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/appenders/network.html#SslConfiguration-attr-verifyHostName attribute of the <Ssl> element. Although the verifyHostName configuration attribute was introduced in Log4j Core 2.12.0, it was silently ignored in all versions through 2.25.3, leaving TLS connections vulnerable to interception regardless of the configured value. A network-based attacker may be able to perform a man-in-the-middle attack when all of the following conditions are met: * An SMTP, Socket, or Syslog appender is in use. * TLS is configured via a nested <Ssl> element. * The attacker can present a certificate issued by a CA trusted by the appender's configured trust store, or by the default Java trust store if none is configured. This issue does not affect users of the HTTP appender, which uses a separate verifyHost

  • Apr 9, 2026LIBPNG is a reference library for use in applications that read, create, and manipulate PNG (Portable Network Graphics) raster image files.CVE-2026-34757 · Other software · pnggroup · reported by GitHubMedium 5.1

LIBPNG is a reference library for use in applications that read, create, and manipulate PNG (Portable Network Graphics) raster image files. From 1.0.9 to before 1.6.57, passing a pointer obtained from png_get_PLTE, png_get_tRNS, or png_get_hIST back into the corresponding setter on the same png_struct/png_info pair causes the setter to read from freed memory and copy its contents into the replacement buffer. The setter frees the internal buffer before copying from the caller-supplied pointer, which now dangles. The freed region may contain stale data (producing silently corrupted chunk metadata) or data from subsequent heap allocations (leaking unrelated heap contents into the chunk struct). This vulnerability is fixed in 1.6.57.

  • Apr 9, 2026Ziggeo: Missing AuthorizationCVE-2026-4124 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 5.4

The Ziggeo plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Missing Authorization in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.1. The wp_ajax_ziggeo_ajax handler only verifies a nonce (check_ajax_referer) but performs no capability checks via current_user_can(). Furthermore, the nonce ('ziggeo_ajax_nonce') is exposed to all logged-in users on every page via the wp_head and admin_head hooks . This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to invoke multiple administrative operations including: saving arbitrary translation strings (translations_panel_save_strings via update_option('ziggeo_translations')), creating/updating/deleting event templates (event_editor_save_template/update_template/remove_template via update_option('ziggeo_events')), modifying SDK application settings (sdk_applications operations), and managing notifications (notification_handler via update_option('ziggeo_notifications')).

  • Apr 7, 2026Issue summary: Applications using AES-CFB128 encryption or decryption on systems with AVX-512 and VAES support can trigger an out-of-bounds read of up to 15 bytCVE-2026-28386 · Websites & servers · OpenSSL · reported by openssl-security@openssl.orgHigh 7.5

Issue summary: Applications using AES-CFB128 encryption or decryption on systems with AVX-512 and VAES support can trigger an out-of-bounds read of up to 15 bytes when processing partial cipher blocks. Impact summary: This out-of-bounds read may trigger a crash which leads to Denial of Service for an application if the input buffer ends at a memory page boundary and the following page is unmapped. There is no information disclosure as the over-read bytes are not written to output. The vulnerable code path is only reached when processing partial blocks (when a previous call left an incomplete block and the current call provides fewer bytes than needed to complete it). Additionally, the input buffer must be positioned at a page boundary with the following page unmapped. CFB mode is not used in TLS/DTLS protocols, which use CBC, GCM, CCM, or ChaCha20-Poly1305 instead. For these reasons the issue was assessed as Low severity according to our Security Policy. Only x86-64 systems with AVX-512 and VAES instruction support are affected. Other architectures and systems without VAES support use different code paths that are not affected. • Apr 7, 2026A vulnerability in the HuggingFace Transformers library, specifically in the `Trainer` class, allows for arbitrary code execution.CVE-2026-1839 · Other software · huggingface · reported by security@huntr.devHigh 7.8

A vulnerability in the HuggingFace Transformers library, specifically in the `Trainer` class, allows for arbitrary code execution. The `_load_rng_state()` method in `src/transformers/trainer.py` at line 3059 calls `torch.load()` without the `weights_only=True` parameter. This issue affects all versions of the library supporting `torch>=2.2` when used with PyTorch versions below 2.6, as the `safe_globals()` context manager provides no protection in these versions. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by supplying a malicious checkpoint file, such as `rng_state.pth`, which can execute arbitrary code when loaded. The issue is resolved in version v5.0.0rc3.

Chyrp Lite is an ultra-lightweight blogging engine. Prior to 2026.01, an IDOR / Mass Assignment issue exists in the Post model that allows authenticated users with post editing permissions (Edit Post, Edit Draft, Edit Own Post, Edit Own Draft) to modify posts they do not own and do not have permission to edit. By passing internal class properties such as id into the post_attributes payload, an attacker can alter the object being instantiated. As a result, further actions are performed on another user’s post rather than the attacker’s own post, effectively enabling post takeover. This vulnerability is fixed in 2026.01.
