  • Sep 5, 2024Geo Controller: Unauthorized menu creation/deletionCVE-2024-7380 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 4.3

The Geo Controller plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized menu creation/deletion due to missing capability checks on the ajax__geolocate_menu and ajax__geolocate_remove_menu functions in all versions up to, and including, 8.7.3. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to create or delete WordPress menus.

  • Aug 28, 2024A vulnerability in the software upgrade component of Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) and Cisco Cloud Network Controller, formerlyCVE-2024-20478 · Network & remote access · Cisco · reported by psirt@cisco.comMedium 6.5

A vulnerability in the software upgrade component of Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) and Cisco Cloud Network Controller, formerly Cisco Cloud APIC, could allow an authenticated, remote attacker with Administrator-level privileges to install a modified software image, leading to arbitrary code injection on an affected system. This vulnerability is due to insufficient signature validation of software images. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by installing a modified software image. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected system and elevate their privileges to root. Note: Administrators should always validate the hash of any upgrade image before uploading it to Cisco APIC and Cisco Cloud Network Controller.

A vulnerability in the restricted security domain implementation of Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to modify the behavior of default system policies, such as quality of service (QoS) policies, on an affected system. This vulnerability is due to improper access control when restricted security domains are used to implement multi-tenancy. An attacker with a valid user account associated with a restricted security domain could exploit this vulnerability. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to read, modify, or delete child policies created under default system policies, which are implicitly used by all tenants in the fabric, resulting in disruption of network traffic. Exploitation is not possible for policies under tenants that an attacker has no authorization to access.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: xhci: Check endpoint is valid before dereferencing it When the host controller is not responding, all URBs queued to all endpoints need to be killed. This can cause a kernel panic if we dereference an invalid endpoint. Fix this by using xhci_get_virt_ep() helper to find the endpoint and checking if the endpoint is valid before dereferencing it. • Aug 17, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mailbox: mtk-cmdq: Move devm_mbox_controller_register() after devm_pm_runtime_enable() WheCVE-2024-42319 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mailbox: mtk-cmdq: Move devm_mbox_controller_register() after devm_pm_runtime_enable() When mtk-cmdq unbinds, a WARN_ON message with condition pm_runtime_get_sync() < 0 occurs. According to the call tracei below: cmdq_mbox_shutdown mbox_free_channel mbox_controller_unregister __devm_mbox_controller_unregister ... The root cause can be deduced to be calling pm_runtime_get_sync() after calling pm_runtime_disable() as observed below: 1. CMDQ driver uses devm_mbox_controller_register() in cmdq_probe() to bind the cmdq device to the mbox_controller, so devm_mbox_controller_unregister() will automatically unregister the device bound to the mailbox controller when the device-managed resource is removed. That means devm_mbox_controller_unregister() and cmdq_mbox_shoutdown() will be called after cmdq_remove(). 2. CMDQ driver also uses devm_pm_runtime_enable() in cmdq_probe() after devm_mbox_controller_register(), so that devm_pm_runtime_disable() will be called after cmdq_remove(), but before devm_mbox_controller_unregister(). To fix this problem, cmdq_probe() needs to move devm_mbox_c

  • Jul 16, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: fix a possible use-after-free in controller reset during load Unlike .queue_rq, in .CVE-2022-48790 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: fix a possible use-after-free in controller reset during load Unlike .queue_rq, in .submit_async_event drivers may not check the ctrl readiness for AER submission. This may lead to a use-after-free condition that was observed with nvme-tcp. The race condition may happen in the following scenario: 1. driver executes its reset_ctrl_work 2. -> nvme_stop_ctrl - flushes ctrl async_event_work 3. ctrl sends AEN which is received by the host, which in turn schedules AEN handling 4. teardown admin queue (which releases the queue socket) 5. AEN processed, submits another AER, calling the driver to submit 6. driver attempts to send the cmd ==> use-after-free In order to fix that, add ctrl state check to validate the ctrl is actually able to accept the AER submission. This addresses the above race in controller resets because the driver during teardown should: 1. change ctrl state to RESETTING 2. flush async_event_work (as well as other async work elements) So after 1,2, any other AER command will find the ctrl state to be RESETTING and bail out without submitting the AER.
