A flaw was found in the asynchronous message queue handling of the libsoup library, widely used by GNOME and WebKit-based applications to manage HTTP/2 communications. When network operations are aborted at specific timing intervals, an internal message queue item may be freed twice due to missing state synchronization. This leads to a use-after-free memory access, potentially crashing the affected application. Attackers could exploit this behavior remotely by triggering specific HTTP/2 read and cancel sequences, resulting in a denial-of-service condition.

  • Oct 21, 2025Koa is expressive middleware for Node.js using ES2017 async functions.CVE-2025-62595 · Other software · koajs · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3

Koa is expressive middleware for Node.js using ES2017 async functions. In versions 2.16.2 to before 2.16.3 and 3.0.1 to before 3.0.3, a bypass to CVE-2025-8129 was discovered in the Koa.js framework affecting its back redirect functionality. In certain circumstances, an attacker can manipulate the Referer header to force a user’s browser to navigate to an external, potentially malicious website. This occurs because the implementation incorrectly treats some specially crafted URLs as safe relative paths. Exploiting this vulnerability could allow attackers to perform phishing, social engineering, or other redirect-based attacks on users of affected applications. This issue has been patched in version 3.0.3.

  • Oct 21, 2025astral-tokio-tar is a tar archive reading/writing library for async Rust.CVE-2025-62518 · Other software · astral-sh · reported by GitHubHigh 8.1

astral-tokio-tar is a tar archive reading/writing library for async Rust. Versions of astral-tokio-tar prior to 0.5.6 contain a boundary parsing vulnerability that allows attackers to smuggle additional archive entries by exploiting inconsistent PAX/ustar header handling. When processing archives with PAX-extended headers containing size overrides, the parser incorrectly advances stream position based on ustar header size (often zero) instead of the PAX-specified size, causing it to interpret file content as legitimate tar headers. This issue has been patched in version 0.5.6. There are no workarounds.

Apache Syncope offers the ability to extend / customize the base behavior on every deployment by allowing to provide custom implementations of a few Java interfaces; such implementations can be provided either as Java or Groovy classes, with the latter being particularly attractive as the machinery is set for runtime reload. Such a feature has been available for a while, but recently it was discovered that a malicious administrator can inject Groovy code that can be executed remotely by a running Apache Syncope Core instance. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.0.14 / 4.0.2, which fix this issue by forcing the Groovy code to run in a sandbox.

  • Oct 15, 2025Netty is an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework.CVE-2025-59419 · Other software · netty · reported by GitHubMedium 5.5

Netty is an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework. In versions prior to 4.1.128.Final and 4.2.7.Final, the SMTP codec in Netty contains an SMTP command injection vulnerability due to insufficient input validation for Carriage Return (\r) and Line Feed (\n) characters in user-supplied parameters. The vulnerability exists in io.netty.handler.codec.smtp.DefaultSmtpRequest, where parameters are directly concatenated into the SMTP command string without sanitization. When methods such as SmtpRequests.rcpt(recipient) are called with a malicious string containing CRLF sequences, attackers can inject arbitrary SMTP commands. Because the injected commands are sent from the server's trusted IP address, resulting emails will likely pass SPF and DKIM authentication checks, making them appear legitimate. This allows remote attackers who can control SMTP command parameters (such as email recipients) to forge arbitrary emails from the trusted server, potentially impersonating executives and forging high-stakes corporate communications. This issue has been patched in versions 4.1.129.Final and 4.2.8.Final. No known workarounds exist.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md: fix soft lockup in status_resync status_resync() will calculate 'curr_resync - recovery_active' to show user a progress bar like following: [============>........] resync = 61.4% 'curr_resync' and 'recovery_active' is updated in md_do_sync(), and status_resync() can read them concurrently, hence it's possible that 'curr_resync - recovery_active' can overflow to a huge number. In this case status_resync() will be stuck in the loop to print a large amount of '=', which will end up soft lockup. Fix the problem by setting 'resync' to MD_RESYNC_ACTIVE in this case, this way resync in progress will be reported to user.

  • Oct 6, 2025Litestar is an Asynchronous Server Gateway Interface (ASGI) framework.CVE-2025-59152 · Other software · litestar-org · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

Litestar is an Asynchronous Server Gateway Interface (ASGI) framework. In version 2.17.0, rate limits can be completely bypassed by manipulating the X-Forwarded-For header. This renders IP-based rate limiting ineffective against determined attackers. Litestar's RateLimitMiddleware uses `cache_key_from_request()` to generate cache keys for rate limiting. When an X-Forwarded-For header is present, the middleware trusts it unconditionally and uses its value as part of the client identifier. Since clients can set arbitrary X-Forwarded-For values, each different spoofed IP creates a separate rate limit bucket. An attacker can rotate through different header values to avoid hitting any single bucket's limit. This affects any Litestar application using RateLimitMiddleware with default settings, which likely includes most applications that implement rate limiting. Version 2.18.0 contains a patch for the vulnerability.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ring-buffer: Sync IRQ works before buffer destruction If something was written to the buffer just before destruction, it may be possible (maybe not in a real system, but it did happen in ARCH=um with time-travel) to destroy the ringbuffer before the IRQ work ran, leading this KASAN report (or a crash without KASAN): BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in irq_work_run_list+0x11a/0x13a Read of size 8 at addr 000000006d640a48 by task swapper/0 CPU: 0 PID: 0 Comm: swapper Tainted: G W O 6.3.0-rc1 #7 Stack: 60c4f20f 0c203d48 41b58ab3 60f224fc 600477fa 60f35687 60c4f20f 601273dd 00000008 6101eb00 6101eab0 615be548 Call Trace: [<60047a58>] show_stack+0x25e/0x282 [<60c609e0>] dump_stack_lvl+0x96/0xfd [<60c50d4c>] print_report+0x1a7/0x5a8 [<603078d3>] kasan_report+0xc1/0xe9 [<60308950>] __asan_report_load8_noabort+0x1b/0x1d [<60232844>] irq_work_run_list+0x11a/0x13a [<602328b4>] irq_work_tick+0x24/0x34 [<6017f9dc>] update_process_times+0x162/0x196 [<6019f335>] tick_sched_handle+0x1a4/0x1c3 [<6019fd9e>] tick_sched_timer+0x79/0x

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeontx2-pf: Fix use-after-free bugs in otx2_sync_tstamp() The original code relies on cancel_delayed_work() in otx2_ptp_destroy(), which does not ensure that the delayed work item synctstamp_work has fully completed if it was already running. This leads to use-after-free scenarios where otx2_ptp is deallocated by otx2_ptp_destroy(), while synctstamp_work remains active and attempts to dereference otx2_ptp in otx2_sync_tstamp(). Furthermore, the synctstamp_work is cyclic, the likelihood of triggering the bug is nonnegligible. A typical race condition is illustrated below: CPU 0 (cleanup) | CPU 1 (delayed work callback) otx2_remove() | otx2_ptp_destroy() | otx2_sync_tstamp() cancel_delayed_work() | kfree(ptp) | | ptp = container_of(...); //UAF | ptp-> //UAF This is confirmed by a KASAN report: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __run_timer_base.part.0+0x7d7/0x8c0 Write of size 8 at addr ffff88800aa09a18 by task bash/136 ... Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories.
